Heh, the more you know...

Lorde is one of my more favorite mainstream pop artists to be honest. Not sure why.

New Queens of the Stone Age: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvyNyFXHj4k

Throwback rock and roll style stuff. Pretty cool. Good beat.

Bought 7 LPs for 44€

Asia - Asia
Boston - Third Stage
City Boy - The Day the Earth Caught Fire
Gary Glitter - GG
Keel - The Right to Rock
Triumph - Never Surrender
Winger - In the Heart of the Young

I've never listend to City Boy or Gary Glitter, I've heard one song from Keel and Winger and two albums from Asia. The only albums I'm already familiar with are Boston's and Triumph's.

See, I've never really been a big fan of Queens of the Stone Age. Only a few songs of theirs I can like/tolerate.

Their catalogue is pretty varied. I really love Songs for the Deaf and ...Like Clockwork, and I really hate Era Vulgaris.

Still baffles me the soundtrack for that schlocky Fantastic Four movie produced my favorite Velvet Revolver song.

New Chris Cornell song

I think this song is kind of extra impactful at the moment, seeing a new song from him.

This new Dead Rider song is bizarre

They usually sound more like this. They're always bizarre, but that is a major sound change.

Another "New" Radiohead song

They seem to be releasing an album of previously unreleased stuff.

That was good. I also liked "I Promise". According to the description, the album's coming out tomorrow.

Melodrama is pretty good. I'm not sure if I'm going to like it as much as Pure Heroine, but I'm definitely going to be listening to it for a while.

On the other hand, I tried to listen to Ulver's new album from this year and got too bored to continue pretty quickly. I've never listened to much of their stuff, but I remember liking some of Perdition City quite a lot (and Bergtatt, but that was another genre of music entirely).

The new one is like if they clashed their old electronic stuff together but turned it into outright synthpop.

I like it quite a lot, actually, but certainly another drastic change for them.

And I need to listen to new music again, including Melodrama

Have you ever had an album you rated rather highly, but then somehow the next album by the artist is even way better than that and you're like "Well, maybe my old rating isn't really adequate for this anymore...", and with how much of an improvement the next thing was, suddenly the older album doesn't seem quite as good?

I think I've had this a few times. Can't think of specifics, I just remember highly liking some albums, then the next album comes out and it is even way better and suddenly the old album doesn't seem quite as amazing (But still good) as it did before this new, even better album came out.

I'm pretty sure I've had that issue once or twice, but I can't remember either.

I think that's happened before. Or you inflate a rating because the album is very popular or a classic, even if you don't actually think it's that great. Or you go back and see you rated an album very low but you listen to it and feel bad that you rated it so low because it's not that bad.
