It's hard to work out OPs when the TFA is composed of over twenty something operators from what I can tell...I think I may keep this one small for the most part

Sha Mobutia wrote:Also a friendly reminder on this whole debate of snipers being applicable (even in situations where they don't have a direct shot).
Snipers have applications far beyond their rifles.
The deadliest piece of equipment a sniper has is most often not the ULTRA-LEET GORINATOR 3000 with 50x scope, firing APHEBCI smart rounds.
Its their radio. Calling enemy movements, coordinating multiple friendly assets to move in concert with one another, and calling in support assets such as artillery or air support. Even in a situation where they can't provide direct effective fires (such as the prison) they can be monitoring the outside of the target area to make sure no HVTs slip away or to notify friendly forces inside if enemy reinforcements are coming. Not to mention finding good shooting spots in the event that, in the case of the prison situation, the security lockdown is overriden to enable them to start firing inside. A majority of a sniper's usefulness is in their perspective of the area around them and their mobility to change observation points quickly without the larger profile that comes from a unit of regular infantry.

EDIT:This is from me the Co-Op and URA. First, if you join a thread and go inactive, you forfeit control of your team to the OPs if you don't leave a note of what you want done. Second, for people making missions, keep in mind how many people you want in your RP. I'm adding that to the application so we can plan missions and run a couple at once.
Yeah, I was wondering about that myself; about the op team limit. I think that the op I have in mind is only going to need four teams, including my SWORD unit just because the mission is on home turf. Of course, it will probably be a while before I want to kick this thing off because I am creating a more detailed briefing.
In the meantime, what is the status of the other ops? Any about ready to launch?

OP: Anowa
Operation Code Name: Operation: Kinky Brick
Type of Mission: VIP Rescue
Location: Farakhim, South Anowan Protectorate, Anowa
Environment: Cloudy with a chance of rain, night. Visibility 100% 100m, Humidity 67%, Windage suspected 7 km/h coming in at 127*.
Outline:
Anowan Intelligence Service Command receives a heavily distorted message from a Field Agents' sub-dermal radio, message is abruptly ended and AISC is left with no clue as to the status of the broadcasting Agent.
Almost an hour later, the AISC intercepts a video message between two members of the South Anowan Liberation Front, a domestic terrorist group in one of Anowa's southern protectorates. They claim to have captured an Anowan field agent with plans to publicly execute them. A crosscheck of background landmarks and GPS coordinates of several AISC field agent's sub-dermal locators confirms that they have captured an Agent Walker. Agent Walker was deployed into the area to assassinate Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West, three members of the SALF leadership, as well as secure any possible information on potential SALF attacks or membership lists.
The AISC initially plans to burn Agent Walker, but due to the intelligibility of their broadcast it is not confirmed whether they have vital intel or not. The current location of the agent correlates with a known SALF hot spot, they decide a covert operation would be best to extract Agent Walker. The potential for discovery and the possibility to eliminate three of the biggest thorns in Anowan military command's side have deemed the mission too important for a single combat team.
A clandestine message is sent to TF: ATLAS from the MIAHS in the form of an aid request.
The AO is a known hot spot for SALF forces [Think Mogadishu in the early 90s] as such a frontal assault would be definite suicide. Projected hostiles in the area are in the excess of 2000 members with a much greater number of potential combatants in the form of the civilian population. The city is located smack dab on the only river running through the area in the middle of jungle terrain, allowing a waterway infiltration, Exfiltration will be the exact same way you came in unless you are discovered, in which case Agent Walker will be extracted via Fulton Recovery, and you will be picked up by D-17 Blackhawk. To compound any issues the SALF are known to use chemical and biological weapons so gas masks are recommended. Agent Walker's original mission was to kill three members of the SALF higher ups, one of which was a former SPECTRA member.
Should the operators be discovered, two teams of the Anowan Air Force's Detachment 17 will be on standby as well as an AC-130E ready to scramble to cover extraction. Operators have fifteen minutes to reach the exfiltration point upon discovery lest they be left behind.
Primary Objectives:Secondary Objectives:
- Find Agent Walker.
- Extract Agent Walker.
- Remain undetected.
- Confirm location of Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West.
- Eliminate Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West.
Parameters: Discovery is not an option, due to suspected risk of chemical and biological wepaons, hazmat capable BDUs are recommended.
- Obtain any information in which Agent Walker has obtained if they have been killed.
- Obtain any information on the locations of Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West if they are not present.
OpFor: 1500-3500 EI, Numerous road fortifications and emplaced weapons, likely several soft vehicles. A sole squad of deserted Anowan Tier One personnel are located on site.

Also in the event the first Op. is launched sometime this week, due to it being exam week for me, I probably wont be able to post until next Wednesday (June 28) afternoon. Might be able to sneak a post in during the weekend of Monday, but majority of my time will be spent studying or doing exams.

Task Force Atlas Personnel File
Name: Unknown
Alias: Archangel
Unit: Task Force Logos
Role: TFL Leader
Age: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Birthplace: Unknown
Biographical Information: Archangel, as his codename is known, first came to Task Force Atlas' attention shortly after the attack on Diego Garcia. The Prophet, in order to address the threat of Task Force Atlas, organized a similar force known as Task Force Logos. Logos was the foil to Atlas, made up mostly of ex-special forces, mercenaries, and several other units. It has been assumed based on assessments that Task Force Logos originally numbered around forty total operators separated into ten teams. Since then, some have been confirmed killed, leading to an estimated five and a half teams, not including the team that Archangel himself leads. There is little to no information on whether Archangel has worked to rebuild Logos or expand it, but it is known that Logos operators have been spotted in several locations acting as trainers, assassins, and direct-action teams. Task Force Logos is the muscle of the Prophet and the direct force of his will, and Archangel is the leader of this force. If Prophet is Atlas' most wanted, then Archangel should be considered a close second, and where Archangel lacks in the influence and control of Prophet, he makes up for in military skill and expertise, as well as the loyalty of Logos. The current whereabouts of Archangel is unknown.
Psychological Profile: Archangel is intensely competent and a fierce fighter. He is not to be underestimated.
Training: Probable military training, most likely special forces.
Notable Experience: Potential extensive experiences as a special forces operator.
Typical Loadout: Various.
Theme Song: Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace
Notes: Archangel is usually found at Prophet's side, along with the rest of his personal team.
