Mission Briefing

(Delete Everything in Parenthesis)
OP: (Who will be the OP of the thread?) Me
Operation Code Name: Moscow Rose
Type of Mission: Assassination
Location: In the Urals
Environment: Blizzard, at night
Outline: A militant leader has been rising in power, and needs to be clipped of their power before they become stronger. "Moscow Rose" is the target. Their base is found in the Urals, and native peacekeeping efforts are too weak to fully deal with the threat. GER's constitution prohibits the use of the Russitanian military to be used except for extreme circumstances, of which this is not.
Primary Objectives: Assassinate Moscow Rose
Russitainian spies have been able to track their position, and will be able to relay information to the TFA units live if required.
Secondary Objectives:
1. Capture members of Russian Garden
- Russian Garden is the militant group that needs to be eliminated
2. Secure information of which groups they cooperate with, as well as the extent of their operations
- There have been reports of foreign and native terrorist groups being trained and supplied by Russian Garden
Parameters: This needs to be an absolutely silent operation. The general public can not know about this.
OpFor: The compound is heavily guarded, with heavy equipment. Snipers are hidden throughout the surrounding mountains. Russitainian spies can provide some assistance, but not too much.
Notes: As mentioned before, Russitainian spies will assist in any way possible.

Also a friendly reminder on this whole debate of snipers being applicable (even in situations where they don't have a direct shot).

Snipers have applications far beyond their rifles.

The deadliest piece of equipment a sniper has is most often not the ULTRA-LEET GORINATOR 3000 with 50x scope, firing APHEBCI smart rounds.

Its their radio. Calling enemy movements, coordinating multiple friendly assets to move in concert with one another, and calling in support assets such as artillery or air support. Even in a situation where they can't provide direct effective fires (such as the prison) they can be monitoring the outside of the target area to make sure no HVTs slip away or to notify friendly forces inside if enemy reinforcements are coming. Not to mention finding good shooting spots in the event that, in the case of the prison situation, the security lockdown is overriden to enable them to start firing inside. A majority of a sniper's usefulness is in their perspective of the area around them and their mobility to change observation points quickly without the larger profile that comes from a unit of regular infantry.

EDIT:This is from me the Co-Op and URA. First, if you join a thread and go inactive, you forfeit control of your team to the OPs if you don't leave a note of what you want done. Second, for people making missions, keep in mind how many people you want in your RP. I'm adding that to the application so we can plan missions and run a couple at once.

Yeah, I was wondering about that myself; about the op team limit. I think that the op I have in mind is only going to need four teams, including my SWORD unit just because the mission is on home turf. Of course, it will probably be a while before I want to kick this thing off because I am creating a more detailed briefing.

In the meantime, what is the status of the other ops? Any about ready to launch?

I wouldn't know, thats up to URA, and he's uh.

"Working"...

So for the sake of conversation, what are your armies/SOF units based off of, if any? I like to think my military is the demon love-child between EFEC and The Spetsnaz Guard Brigade from ENDWAR. While certain elements of my military are highly advanced (Interior units, SOF, HQ, etc) like EFEC, the rest are equipped with more grizzled weapons, relying on their training and skill much like the Guard Brigade. Not to say their more technologically advanced counterparts are lacking in skill of course. These units would be Regional Guard units (National Guard units), reserves, and tier 3 units (Units that support special ops).

Also in the event the first Op. is launched sometime this week, due to it being exam week for me, I probably wont be able to post until next Wednesday (June 28) afternoon. Might be able to sneak a post in during the weekend of Monday, but majority of my time will be spent studying or doing exams.

The Special Service Regiments are inspired heavily by the US Green Berets and Navy SEALs, the British SAS, and the Rhodesian Selous Scouts.

The Warfare Development Group, one of the Regiments of the SSR, is inspired heavily by SEAL Team six. Officially on paper none of the operators submitted to TFA are slotted for field service at this time: they have been transitioned to the Warfare Development Group where they have a multi-part job of working alongside R&D assets to find out what would and would not work for equipment to be passed to the other Regiments, and as training cadre for those who think they have what it takes to pass the RASP and join the Regiments.

Operation Code Name: Operation: Kinky Brick
Type of Mission: VIP Rescue
Location: Farakhim, South Anowan Protectorate, Anowa
Environment: Cloudy with a chance of rain, night. Visibility 100% 100m, Humidity 67%, Windage suspected 7 km/h coming in at 127*.
Outline:
Anowan Intelligence Service Command receives a heavily distorted message from a Field Agents' sub-dermal radio, message is abruptly ended and AISC is left with no clue as to the status of the broadcasting Agent.

Almost an hour later, the AISC intercepts a video message between two members of the South Anowan Liberation Front, a domestic terrorist group in one of Anowa's southern protectorates. They claim to have captured an Anowan field agent with plans to publicly execute them. A crosscheck of background landmarks and GPS coordinates of several AISC field agent's sub-dermal locators confirms that they have captured an Agent Walker. Agent Walker was deployed into the area to assassinate Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West, three members of the SALF leadership, as well as secure any possible information on potential SALF attacks or membership lists.

The AISC initially plans to burn Agent Walker, but due to the intelligibility of their broadcast it is not confirmed whether they have vital intel or not. The current location of the agent correlates with a known SALF hot spot, they decide a covert operation would be best to extract Agent Walker. The potential for discovery and the possibility to eliminate three of the biggest thorns in Anowan military command's side have deemed the mission too important for a single combat team.

A clandestine message is sent to TF: ATLAS from the MIAHS in the form of an aid request.

The AO is a known hot spot for SALF forces [Think Mogadishu in the early 90s] as such a frontal assault would be definite suicide. Projected hostiles in the area are in the excess of 2000 members with a much greater number of potential combatants in the form of the civilian population. The city is located smack dab on the only river running through the area in the middle of jungle terrain, allowing a waterway infiltration, Exfiltration will be the exact same way you came in unless you are discovered, in which case Agent Walker will be extracted via Fulton Recovery, and you will be picked up by D-17 Blackhawk. To compound any issues the SALF are known to use chemical and biological weapons so gas masks are recommended. Agent Walker's original mission was to kill three members of the SALF higher ups, one of which was a former SPECTRA member.

Should the operators be discovered, two teams of the Anowan Air Force's Detachment 17 will be on standby as well as an AC-130E ready to scramble to cover extraction. Operators have fifteen minutes to reach the exfiltration point upon discovery lest they be left behind.

Primary Objectives:
  • Find Agent Walker.
  • Extract Agent Walker.
  • Remain undetected.
  • Confirm location of Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West.
  • Eliminate Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West.
Secondary Objectives:
  • Obtain any information in which Agent Walker has obtained if they have been killed.
  • Obtain any information on the locations of Damian Glaskowicz, Fariq Al'Assad and June West if they are not present.
Parameters: Discovery is not an option, due to suspected risk of chemical and biological wepaons, hazmat capable BDUs are recommended.
OpFor: 1500-3500 EI, Numerous road fortifications and emplaced weapons, likely several soft vehicles. A sole squad of deserted Anowan Tier One personnel are located on site.

My army as a whole is based on the real world Turkish army, with some influences from the Afghan National Army because my nation as a whole is based on a more modernized and stable version of Afghanistan. The Takavaran I'd say would probably be based on some combination of the Turkish Maroon Berets and Quds Force combined with a bit of Pakistani ISI, although with the same uniform that Afghan Special Forces use. Their name comes from one of the terms that's interchangeably used to mean either commando or special forces in the Iranian military, seeing as Dayganistan's main language is Persian.

To address several things now that I'm back from way too long of a shift(longer than I had planned. It's 2:30am now.)

- I'm putting in the sizes for the missions because in the last incarnation of PW, we had an issue where it was basically everybody doing the main storyline, and then hand-picked people doing small side-missions. As you can assume, the main storyline was a clusterfuck, while the side missions died out. Hence the two warnings I had Don put up.

- The "first OP," as it were will come up... Tomorrow, I hope. I'm off. I'll need some time to work on my car(since the ignition decided it wanted to start not working every time I used it today), but other than that, I have no excuse to not be writing. As such, this will probably be one of the few "missions" where everyone is invited to post, as it is less a mission, and more a "everyone is getting their bearings and introducing themselves" sort of deal. After that, we can basically break off into missions.

- Eh... KGG, I'll look over your app momentarily.

- The Sentinels are based on Army Rangers, with a little 5th SOG. As for my other SF units, Vanguard are more like a heavy-handed Marine Raiders, while the Marshals are ISA/CIA-SAD/PsyOps/etc.

Vacif wrote:So for the sake of conversation, what are your armies/SOF units based off of, if any?

To be honest, I really don't have any idea what they may even be close to. They're (the LG) kind of too grey and generic to really have any one influence.

The Donnish S.C.A.R (Special Command Army Rangers) on the other hand are similar to the U.S Rangers Battalions and maybe the Royal Marines, Fallshirmjager and MARSOC.

Appearance/Description of Operator:
Krisio Ovemaars, Pioneer of the ORPHAN Force or Standard ORPHAN Force Outfits sans Full Tactical Loadout

Biography of Outfit:

The Operational Recon Platoon - Heavy Advanced Network, or ORPHAN Force, was a highly controversial Tier One outfit meant to cross international laws and operate without boundaries. Originally made up of young orphans below the age of 6 being trained by numerous instructors from different special forces groups, these individuals were orphans whose parents died from war, disease or accidents. One thing which the Federation does not do however, was intentionally create orphans, even when there were children with seemingly high potential to become great soldiers.

The terrorist attacks during the Unification Rift of 1966 created the need for a special forces group to operate within the Republic of Relikai. The first unit, TF-108, became the standard Tier One unit which was recognised in the Republic and neighbouring nations, the unit which was always called upon to solve hostage situations, attack terrorist safehouses and more. The nations around the Republic created their own Special Forces during this time, intent on showing each other the capabilities of their own localised training. Rusandra's Task Force Echo, Moskoyva's Special Unit 97 and Starspectre branches, Namba's Kunoichi and Yukikaze battalions and Dravkavich's Death Guard and Blitzklinge were examples of units born out of TF-108's conception. However, the Republics were still divided during this time, so while instructors often shared their knowledge, there was mistrust and suspicion of the technological deals and cooperation between the Special Forces Groups.

1978 brought about a new change in Regional Special Forces Operations, when Namba discovered the location of a terrorist cell whose leader was planning a nuclear attack on Relikai's major industrial complexes. While members of the Yukikaze struck hard, Namba ultimately failed to prevent the escape of the terrorist leader, who disappeared after killing the Kunoichi agent planted within their ranks, forty-eight hours after the first engagement.

This incident brought about a shift of mentality between the military men and the politicians. One faction who wanted unrestricted access for a combined special ops team, shared information and logistics across the region, while the politicians wanted a similar outcome, but through Regional Unification. However, since the latter option would take years and possibly decades to achieve, a gathering of military leaders decided to form an illegal force of Special Operations Force, operating with no borders, and no identity. The plan came with an experimental portion, drawing manpower from orphans around the region to form the core of the ORPHAN Program.

Task Force 48, the number chosen for the number of years since the countries have won independence from their former colonial masters, was formed with twelve members initially. One from each of the regional countries, Task Force 48 began operating and chasing terrorist cells and leads in tandem with local forces, assuring the destruction of twice as many cells as the previous year.

In the year 1997, the Unification Clause combined all twelve nations into a United Federation, revealing the existence of Task Force 48. Now with a pioneering batch of ORPHANs, TF-48's efficiency was shown in Operation Lightning Spear, the deployment of a hundred and twenty ORPHANs against twelve terrorist sites resulted in a victory for the United Republic, with casualties amounting to thirty percent, a respectable amount for a force of youngsters going on their first mission. Over the years, Task Force 48 has evolved from unit involved in strike missions, to HUMINT Operations and Deep Infiltration. Instructors were made up of members from other Tier One units in the reformed military branches, as well as retired ORPHAN Force agents who were too old to keep up with the intensity of ORPHAN operations, or crippled in the field of battle.

While the existence of ORPHANs remained a secret, as well as a process of procuring members to replenish their ranks, there were few enough Orphans selected every six months that it was ignored by the public through 'administrative errors'.

Training of the ORPHAN -

Ages 4-6 - Language and Ethical Training, Physical Conditioning Begins
The average language to be mastered by an ORPHAN was six, for their future operational theaters. Starting from a young age, language and physical conditioning was impressed upon the ORPHANs, stretching their bodies to the limit as well as mentally training them for languages and mental problems. Fun and play came in the form of physical sports and games, including wrestling and relay racing. A strict regimen of rest and nutrition was drawn up for the trainees, ensuring their growth and training progress was closely monitored during their formative years.

Ages 6-12
Physical conditioning reaches a top level, acrobatics and athletic training including daily runs of several kilometers in the morning and the evening. Basic weapon training and simulated recoil control are introduced, including basic geography and mathematics skills. Academic lessons take precedence for afternoon sessions, physical training for morning and evenings. Children are divided into HUMINT and Combat Specialist Branches, the former involved in infiltration and information gathering, while the latter trains on the art of direct action.

Ages 12-15
For HUMINT, specific training for each individual commences from the age of 12. CombSpec troopers work in sections, platoons, and entire battalions with generations up to three levels ahead, testing their competency and adaptability to new groups and opponents. Weapon specialization commences at the age of 14, where one fires a weapon at harsh circumstances every day, a miss determining a session of harsh training, or a rested day to perform better. At the age of 15, each ORPHAN goes through six months of 'Hell Training', spending three months in Jungle and Arctic terrains, after spending their lives in the desert terrain of ORPHAN HQ.

Ages 16 - Onwards
ORPHANs graduate with an active mission, their success determining their graduation as members of the ORPHAN Force. Missions were selected that every member needed to contribute or have the operation end in failure. There were rumors that ORPHAN Commanders send their graduates into traps, in order to test their resilience and ability to pull through the harshest of trials. Upon graduation, ORPHANs were placed into an Active List, training everyday as they prepared for the next operation, or being prepared to deploy within two hours.

How to be legitimately recognised in NS? Be a proper Roleplayer.
In a community where knowledge should be used to uplift the teachable and be used as an interest instead of a necessity, the arrogant abuse of knowledge is interesting to watch.

Task Force Atlas Personnel File

Image

Name: Unknown
Alias: Archangel
Unit: Task Force Logos
Role: TFL Leader
Age: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Birthplace: Unknown
Biographical Information: Archangel, as his codename is known, first came to Task Force Atlas' attention shortly after the attack on Diego Garcia. The Prophet, in order to address the threat of Task Force Atlas, organized a similar force known as Task Force Logos. Logos was the foil to Atlas, made up mostly of ex-special forces, mercenaries, and several other units. It has been assumed based on assessments that Task Force Logos originally numbered around forty total operators separated into ten teams. Since then, some have been confirmed killed, leading to an estimated five and a half teams, not including the team that Archangel himself leads. There is little to no information on whether Archangel has worked to rebuild Logos or expand it, but it is known that Logos operators have been spotted in several locations acting as trainers, assassins, and direct-action teams. Task Force Logos is the muscle of the Prophet and the direct force of his will, and Archangel is the leader of this force. If Prophet is Atlas' most wanted, then Archangel should be considered a close second, and where Archangel lacks in the influence and control of Prophet, he makes up for in military skill and expertise, as well as the loyalty of Logos. The current whereabouts of Archangel is unknown.
Psychological Profile: Archangel is intensely competent and a fierce fighter. He is not to be underestimated.
Training: Probable military training, most likely special forces.
Notable Experience: Potential extensive experiences as a special forces operator.
Typical Loadout: Various.
Theme Song: Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace
Notes: Archangel is usually found at Prophet's side, along with the rest of his personal team.
