Matt Murray has two Cups as a rookie.

And yes, they challenged the goal, and Rinne is clearly still in the crease, Hornqvist clearly makes contact, and Rinne is pushed off balance and unable to make a play. By the rules, that is interference and should have been waved off.

The Refs gave the game and the cup to the Penguins. It's that simple.

You may have that opinion, but it won't change the results. It never will. But you believe what you want.

And? What's your point? Obviously it won't change anything. This is an NS thread not an NHL inquiry.

What could be their motive? Because Pittsburgh is a more powerful city or a more powerful social force than Nashville? That's not realistic.

If they wanted to engineer results they should send the championship to the Kings or the Rangers or the Black Hawks.

Are Penguins fans really this blind to the love affair the NHL and NBC have with the Penguins?

Fuck. I was doing trivia with my coworkers and missed the important parts of the game-winning goals....RIP Lord Kushleesi.

Oh well, both teams played to a very good SCF so bravo. Congrats to Pens, consolations to Preds. VIVA FAS!

Well, crap. And on home ice, too. :(

Oh well. Good series Penguins, congrats on your fifth cup. We will most certainly be back to take it to Smashville, but hey, we made history. We've paved the road for the underdogs like ourselves, much less le the Kings did. I say that's OK by me in retrospect, though winning the Cup would've been awesome. But you can't always get what you want.

Thank you. I think Nashville's fanbase is awesome. The Predators are also an awesome team. It's a great thing for hockey that Nashville is so proud of its team, and I hope you guys get the Cup soon.
Maybe by some miracle we can meet in the Final next year, with both of our rosters completely healthy?

Off season already off to an interesting start

Phaneuf, Yandle & Bieksa have been asked to waive their NMCs for expansion purposes. No official response yet.

Fleury has waived his no-move, so it's obvious at this point that his time in Pittsburgh is over. He goes out on top.

Fleury should've gotten the Conn Smythe. Pens don't make it out of the first round if not for him, let alone win the Cup.

Hope that the Flames are able to pick him up. He'll be able to put up good numbers with some better defence in front of him than Pittsburgh has to offer. [EDIT] Although Antti Raanta would be an interesting acquisition.

No he wasn't...
Fleury had a 3.02 GAA and .909 Sv%
Murray had a 2.41 GAA and .925 Sv%

And in the playoffs...
Fleury had a 2.56 GAA and .924 Sv%
Murray had a 1.70 GAA and .937 Sv%

There was talk briefly of awarding it to both Fleury and Murray, but the damn league shut that down. I would have loved that.

Counting on it! The Pens play great hockey; y'all pushed us and hopefully we made you work a little bit harder for the Cup. :p Maybe next year we'll both have won our divisions-that would be an interesting matchup. It's been one heck of a run for both of our teams. Respect.

How about the Penguins don't get yet another guy I like? :P Malkin may only have been my fourth favourite Russian anyway, but after Streit and Hornqvist they could really stop doing that at some point, given that I'll never support them. The entire NHL is very good at directing people at teams I don't want them to play at, though... (as long as Hischier doesn't end up with the Devils it's still tolerable though)

Didn't play enough games last year for it to be considered his rookie season.
