N-City (group A,final and 3rd place match)
The capital of Natanians and Nosts that was founded over 1000 times ago (according to the national calendary)is a beautiful city.

Bacon Hills (group B,quarterfinals 1 and 2,semifinal 2)
The city is one of the few that have a lacrosse-specific public facility, and it's there that the games will be held, but don't subestimate it by the name since it supports approximately 5000 supporters.

Livotski (group C,quarterfinals 3 and 4,semifinal 1)
One of the cities in wich lacrosse is very popular. This city has some of the most beautiful historical buildings, but what really calls the attention is a lake near downtown.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL LACROSSE TEAM

This will be Abanhfleft's sixth time participating in the World Lacrosse Championship. For reasons that can be simply summed up as "it's the best thing we've done in a while," the Democratic Republic is sending forth their women's national lacrosse team once again. The women's team, led by the "Fearsome Threesome" of Menan Alrisheb, Fatima Alsambis, and Cecilia Cuvimi, managed to win third place in their first ever tournament WLC XIX, beating the Serbian Empire to nab the bronze from under the veteran nation's noses. They went on to win back-to-back titles in WLC 22 and WLC 23 before a miserable performance in WLC 24 saw them eliminated in the group stage, but they have come back to win it all once again in WLC 25 to set history as the first nation to win three titles in four attempts. This women's team is different from the other women's lacrosse teams because they are trained in men's lacrosse rules, the reasons why will be explained in the history spoiler below.

The history of lacrosse in Abanhfleft is both long and short, in that it has been in the country for a long time, but a concise summary of said history can be written down in just ten to fifteen sentences or maybe more. Lacross was introduced in Abanhfleft by vacationing Canadian college students and expatriates who missed playing the game. The first truly Fleftic lacrosse players came from association football and field hockey backgrounds, and these players played in seasonal lacrosse clubs to augment their salaries during their respective sports' offseasons. The first national lacrosse league in Abanhfleft was established in 1929, and was composed of 7 teams coming from the Capital Islands. The Fleftic national lacrosse league system adopted its current promotion-and-relegation format in 1951, with the National League (now called the Lacrosse Premier League) at the top of the pyramid. The Fleftic Lacrosse Federation (Flefteikor' Fidourhat'she ob Lakros or FFoL) was established in 1930 to manage the leagues, and to see to the creation of a national team. The Abanhfleft men's national lacrosse team played its first game in 1931, where they lost 1-0 to a team of Montreal college players.

1963 saw the first attempts to introduce women's lacrosse into Abanhfleft. Women's lacrosse had vastly different rules from men's lacrosse, and while these programs saw some success in the mid-sixties, Fleftic women decided that the rules of women's lacrosse were "too soft," and simply adopted the rules of men's lacrosse. When the women's national lacrosse team played its first games in 1969, they surprised many other teams with their extremely aggressive style of play, the likes of which were more usually seen in men's lacrosse games. This led to many incidents of broken legs, broken arms, broken ribs, broken jaws, and so on and so forth. Eventually, the FFoL established another women's team, this one focusing on women's lacrosse rules. Teams playing Abanhfleft are well-advised to treat the women like men because the girls will certainly treat their opponents like Fleftic men.

They also won the last two World Lacrosse Championships, and they tried going for a third straight title, but a limp performance in the group stage of WLC 24 resulted in them going out on said stage. Now they're back for the silver edition of the World Lacrosse Championships hoping to come back stronger than ever. Can they do it, now that the Fearsome Threesome have all decided to retire from international lacrosse at the same time, or can they only somehow sink even deeper?

Head Coach: Watch this space

Assistant Coach - Tactics: Tim Blyther (46)
Blyther is an Australian who played lacrosse in Abanhfleft's Lacrosse Premier League for almost fifteen years, eventually retiring in 2009 with five championships under his belt. Blyther is also a fan of association football, and was the mastermind of adapting some of that's sports tactics into lacrosse, and this combination of lacrosse and football helped lead the Releinthi Fighting Sticks to three consecutive championships in the Lacrosse Premier League. Being the inventor and innovator of FootCrosse (the combination of football and lacrosse tactics), Blyther was invited by the FFoL to be both national teams' tactics coach, but this will be the first time that FootCrosse will be seen on the world stage, and how Abanhfleft will perform in this tournament will determine the viability of FootCrosse on the international lacrosse scene.

Assistant Coach - Training: Chan Lua (60)
A popular aerobics instructor back in the 1980s, Chan Lua was hired by the FFoL in 2012 for a yearly salary of 2 million new penenks, one of the largest yearly salaries ever in the federation. Lua's job will be to increase and enhance the players' fitness levels. Lua's hiring, which had been a controversial decision at the time, eventually paid off when both national teams' starting lineups lasted much longer on the field than their opponents. Observers keen to gauge this side will look to Lua's contributions to the effectiveness of the national side. In his spare time, when he is not the fitness coach of the Fleftic women's national lacrosse team, he is the fitness coach of the Fhulghamous Peninsula national football team.

Nickname: The Amazons
Colors: All white with blue, orange, and green stripes on the waistline and yellow numbers in a red circle (home kit); all red with yellow letters and numbers (away kit)
Style: Abanhfleft is an attacking team. The legacy of football and hockey players dabbling in lacrosse in its early days in Abanhfleft has resulted in a playing style that emphasizes getting the ball up front for chances to score. This, however, leaves the defense a bit thin, as at least two midfielders join the attackers in forays up to the goal, leaving behind only the defenders and the keeper. The midfield makes up for this by rushing back to their positions as soon as the opponents have acquired the ball.

HOME STADIUM
Image
The Imponte Garden in Kammala, Garufaloe Province, home of the Garufaloe Cobras of the FNLAF, will be playing host to the Fleftic national lacrosse team's home matches. It has an official capacity of 51,000 people, and while attendance regularly exceeds that figure thanks to a rabid fanbase for American football, and people prefer to stand up or sit on the stairs whenever capacity is filled, the organizers are not sure if this capacity will be filled for lacrosse matches, as it simply does not have the same pull as American football, association football, or even rugby union.

Cosumar National Lacrosse Team - WLC XXVII
Roster and Information
Image

Basic Team Information

Nation - The Fiefdom of Cosumar

Team Name - Azure Dragons

Demonym - Cosumarite

Team Colors - Navy, Silver, Royal Blue, White

Headquarters - Centus, Gellano Fief, Cosumar

Home Stadium - CosumaQuest Stadium (68,000)

Team Style - Highly Offensive (for IC purposes)

Experience - This is Cosumar's 20th anniversary in the WLC. Debuted in WLC VIII and have since built a reputation as one of the premier lacrosse nations in multiverse, due to our strong domestic league (the CLL) and eight total WLC medals. Cosumar won back-to-back WLC titles in the 20th and 21st editions but crashed out early in WLC 22. They bounced back to claim a silver medal in WLC 23, a bronze in WLC 24 and finally another gold last time around in WLC 26. Here, they'll be looking to defend their title and win a fourth gold medal or ninth overall medal - which would set a record. Cosumar has also hosted the tournament in the past. Lacrosse was an obscure sport in Cosumar 30+ years ago, but has since risen rapidly to become the fourth spectator sport here behind only association and gridiron football, and basketball.

Team Uniform

Image
Cosumar's uniform feautres an aesthetic design provided by Barrengaka Kits of Astograth and makes heavy use of the national colors of Blue and Silver. The goalie's kit feautres the colors of the Royal Family of Cosumar - Green and Gold. A silhouette of the iconic Cosumarite Azure Dragon takes the center of the uniform, reminding spectators of the natural beauty and magnificence of Cosumar while also striking fear into the hearts of the opposing team.

OOC Permissions

Essentially, I'll allow anything short of killing off my players or extreme godmodding. RPing is all about having fun, so use your imagination and RP however you like when playing Cosumar. However, I do ask that you telegram prior to seriously injuring my players.

CUTOFF

This is the first cutoff of this new WLC.So you could also read this poetry while waiting...
The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix for ever,
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one another's being mingle:
—Why not I with thine?

See, the mountains kiss high heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower would be forgiven
If it disdain'd its brother:
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
—What is all this sweet work worth,
If thou kiss not me?

Union of Socialist Alpine Republics National Box Lacrosse Team
Reprezentacja Alpejski w Rodzaj gry w hokeya
Équipe d'Union des Républiques Socialistes Alpines de Crosse en enclos

The Southern Lacrosse Federation (SLF) understands that this is a field lacrosse competition but we only practice box lacrosse in our nation, so we will send a team of box lacrosse players who will try to adapt to field lacrosse. The Southern Democratic States Lacrosse team is used with a 30 sec. shot clock kinda like basketball, so we usually won't keep the ball for more than 30 seconds before shooting it. Our players won't cover as many field as other field lacrosse teams. Our dmen always stays in the defensive zone and our attackers stays in the attacking zone (or stays just outside to not create an offside if offsides exists). Our midfielders usually stay in the midfield area and rarely go in the attacking or defensive zone. Our strategy isn't well adapted for field lacrosse.

Daredevils tie in first match against Neo Aztecs in high scoring game.

Both West Phoenician and Aztec fans were surprised with the tied game with both teams scoring an impressive 14 points each.

Did someone take a peek at the other teams playbook?

Both had strong offensive and both played strong in that area leaving the defence open and weak for both sides. Prince Jerico Bush and Skipper Brisbane the two goalies for The Daredevils were both critised by Coach Taylor for a weak performance in there opening match.
Whike he supported the aggressive offensive line up, defence was lacking and would need to greatly improve before their next match.

There had been a long review hiatus for what was going to be the Ferret Civilization Ferrets sports involvement. The lacrosse team was one of the better performing groups that had managed to get a bronze when starting off in the twenty third championships, though they fell back down after the beginners luck during the twenty fourth championships. The powers that be back at The Colony decided that overall that involvement, even if not winning anything out of it, was a good thing. All the original members would be called back in to pick up where they had left off and hopefully make a good show of it. Maxen had the honor of sending out the letters to the team that was and will be again out to get them all back together.

Once they all got back together and were sitting comfortably in a new nation that was hosting this event, they got to get their full reunion. The goal was not to win still, but it was no longer to gain exposure, it was kind of a grey area for now, though the one thing that would stay the same was the fact that they would still try and have fun with the situation. Getting a yet another free exotic trip of a lifetime was something that still not a lot of Ferrets got to experience. Maxen was left to toss the old green, black, and white uniforms back to their owners along with all the fun gear they would have to get used to using again before the first game had started.

Ferret Civilisation 8–4 Vangaziland

Despite being a little bit older and probably way out of practice, the team seemed to quickly get back into the pace of things. Luckily given who they would have to go up against in faster paced games they did not have to get thrown out that fast. Vaughn Ib seemed to enjoy the old times he had guarding the goal, and although he slipped up at times no one took anything against him for it. It was all getting used to working as a team again, which, given the end results worked out really well. At the end of it, they started off strong and in a typical fashion, they relaxed after it was done. Stiofán Dáithí along with a few of the others however, decided to see what the night life of the city they were staying in was like.

Just a day after the win in the World Cup game, we are TIED with a score of 8-8.
Both teams had good defense, and offense, however, the team's coach believes that both teams were fighting hard.

CUTOFF

One more cutoff, but the # of RPs at this WLC is at a sleep-ish rate.
O! from what power hast thou this powerful might,
With insufficiency my heart to sway?
To make me give the lie to my true sight,
And swear that brightness doth not grace the day?
Whence hast thou this becoming of things ill,
That in the very refuse of thy deeds
There is such strength and warrantise of skill,
That, in my mind, thy worst all best exceeds?
Who taught thee how to make me love thee more,
The more I hear and see just cause of hate?
O! though I love what others do abhor,
With others thou shouldst not abhor my state:
If thy unworthiness rais'd love in me,
More worthy I to be belov'd of thee.

Daredevils fall on match day 2.

The West Phoenician Daredevils were defeated 5-10 by the Azure Dragons of Cosumar. From the beginning The Azure Dragons dominated the game. The Daredevils would work hard to catch up but by the second half of the game, the Daredevils had lost any momentum to win.

A number of Daredevils players were penalised for illegal slashing, 2 for kicking an opponents stick and 2 for unnecessary roughness.

Head coach Roberto Taylor slammed referees for jumping on every West Phoenician indiscretion while ignoring the actions of there opposition. Roberto Taylor advised there needs to be a little toughness in all sports and nobody was injured in the process so it should have been ignored.

The Vangaziland Royals came out and kept to their standard playbook. The Royals aren't quite an elite team, but they are established. They've participated in most of the past few editions of the World Lacrosse Championships, but aren't ranked particularly high. They've advanced into the playoffs, but haven't made any major runs at the title.

They still do a few things well enough to draw their fan's interest.

Many Vangazi turn in to see Tony Tute, the stocky, 6'1 attackman. He's known for posting up against defenders as well as setting and moving off of screens. "Basketball has always been an influence for me", Tute told reporters before WLC 27.

In the game against Xanaxstan, Tute backed his way into the defender, who pushed and swatted in retaliation. Tute used the momentum, turned, jumped and rocketed off a shot. The ball angled down towards the ground, bouncing up and over the shoulder of the goalkeeper. Tute scored again, 11 minutes later, from a Carrs assist.

Tute has been playing up top. He's played the 'X' in previous editions. So far, midfielder Theo Scandrix has taken over that role. This is Scandrix's first season in the starting lineup. He looks to be in better shape. Improvements can also be seen in his technical skills.

Theo also picked up 2 goals against Xanaxstan. Both came on movements from X, behind the goal. Tute set a pick for the first goal, letting Scandrix gain distance from his defender. Tute picked up an assist in the second goal, timing a pass to Theo's bolting cut. The middie caught the ball, turned and fired it off into a corner in one twisting motion.

Mike Grensen picked up a goal, the first of the game, off a loose ball. He scooped up a wayward pass, passed it to a midfielder and cut towards the goal. The defender moved to cover someone else. The midfielder returned the ball to Grensen who bounced a shot off the ground just past the keeper's shins.

The last goal of the game, scored with two minutes left, came from defender Key Slinjorn. He ran the clearance up in a "middie back" situation.

"One of the reasons we brought Key onto the team was to bring that sort of speed and offensive threat to the position." Key plays short stick defense, using his physical presence and closing the distance in the absence of the longer stick.

Two midfielders ran alongside the defender, passing the ball back and forth to each other against two defenders. Key happened to find himself open, he took the shot. It wasn't the fastest of the night, but it wedged in past the keeper's side.

The Royals move to 1-1. A weak performance in game 1 had the Royals ranked 4th in their Group.

"We can come back from this", said Coach Hootsen. "Game 2 was a good first step, but we'll need more of the same."

Defender Mike Swythe picked up a penalty, getting the whistle for an illegal body check. A pass was coming towards his attackman, but Swythe pushed off a bit too early. The ball was still about twice as far as the textbook distance of 5 yards.

Some say the offensive player flopped. Swythe pushed off aggressively and may have caught the player off guard. Either way, it caught the official's attention. He was given time in the penalty box and a stern warning.

"I have to do a better job of keeping things together", Swythe told reporters.

The night before the second game Stiofán and Vaughn decided to stay out exploring later than the rest of their little group had. There was not much in the way that could have been exciting nightlife, though it was exciting to them, most the afternoon to sundown was seeing what the local shops had to offer. During the short travel probably could have been a sight for the host nations natives, though they wore their team uniform, no one paid them any extra mind. Of course there probably was more tourist like things to go see, they had not really got the information on it yet, so for now it was settled that simply walking the sprawled out city space would do. Once the group dwindled down to two they managed to find one of the parks or green open spaces and decided to relax there before heading back to where they were staying for the event.

The two of them spent a little more time reminiscing on what they were doing before this, during their break, and what could be their future. This had gone on for some time and it was only getting darker, so the two of them had to wrap it up and go. Of course most the others had fallen asleep while they were out, getting all the rest they needed, though the team manager Maxen had stayed awake. Given each other a brief nod that everything was okay. Maxen himself was not really happy that the two of them stayed out for so long, though he could not really be upset either, it is what it was. He hoped it would not effect tomorrows game. When they had gotten up in the morning it did show for the two late night adventures. With Vaughn being old enough that it showed, Stiofán hid his tired state a little better.

Neo Aztecs 10–9 Ferret Civilisation

Vaughn decided it would have been best for him to sit this game out, leaving it up to Munro Alex to be guarding the goal. Of course the speed of the game had started to pick up fast. Despite all the setbacks they did a swell job at keeping up with evening the score, all in all it could have been a lot worse. With plenty of excuses there was nothing to get upset over, just have to keep on going, trying harder next time was the mindset. For tonight however it would be a shut in time to rest up for tomorrows game, which no doubt would be even faster and harder than this one. Everyone wants to win.

I'm continuing something I started in the Quidditch World Cup here. Here's the first (and so far only) chapter of my Wizarding story and it doesn't start off with much but I definitely hope to develop something from this.

"Alex! What the hell are you doing here?" Augustus Rousseau, Auror of Abanhfleft's Kagawaran ng Salamangka, the Fleftic magical governing and lawmaking body, asked his younger sister Alexandra, who was a skilled witch in her own right but was more well known in Abanhfleft as a star football player for the national team and Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Football Club.

"Saving your ass, Augie, what did you expect?" Alex asked back.

Augustus grunted in resignment. Alex was the only person to ever refer to him as Augie; no one else ever dared to incur his wrath because of that. Everyone else wisely called Augustus either by his full name or his preferred nickname of Gus.

"You didn't have to Apparate all the way to Spaam to save my ass, Alex," Augustus grunted as he stood up and brushed the dust off of his coat. "Besides, I had the guy. You know how good my Shield Charms are."

"I'm not doubting that your Shield Charm is good, Augie," Alex said, walking over to Augustus. "But I doubt you would have been able to get another counter-curse up quicker than this guy could land another Memory Charm on you and what would have happened to you then? You'd probably be curled up on the ground now drooling. I came here just in time."

"All right, fine, you can say that you saved my ass this time," Augustus conceded. "Happy now?"

"Just remember that this isn't the first time I saved you and we'll be good," Alex said.

"Fine, fine," Augustus muttered just to end this particular conversation.

Alex then looked down at the wizard she had just Stunned. "Do you know this guy, Augie?" she asked.

Augustus turned over the body to get a better look at the face. "Yeah, actually, I do," he said as recognition dawned upon his face. "This is Adam Milhouz," he continued. "I brought him in after he tried to scam a few people by selling 'Vampire Flobberworms' which were actually leeches. I don't know how he managed to fool a lot of people with that; anyone with half a brain could tell the difference between a leech and a Flobberworm. I guess people see what they want to see. Vampire Flobberworms have been proven not to exist time and time again but still people fall for con artists who claim to have those things. Looks like Adam is still in the business of selling things which aren't as they seem."

"But, judging by the way that there isn't any sort of smug look on your face, I'm guessing that this isn't the end of your investigation just yet," Alex observed.

"You've got a keen eye, Alex; nothing gets past you," Augustus muttered sarcastically as he bent down to pick up the pages of parchment that he had thrown at Milhouz as a distraction before the fake Flobberworm seller had tried to wipe his memory. "Look at this, Alex. Milhouz was contracted by this group called the 'Real Fans' to bring over a hundred kilos of Flobberworms to Spaam for the local Flobberworm Fritters vendors. Milhouz, through the 'Real Fans' then sold rotten and improperly preserved Flobberworms to the vendors here and the Kagawaran believes that that's what's responsible for the breakout of Raging Flobberitis over here in Spaam. And, judging by the comments that were written on the parchments, it looks like that's exactly what the Real Fans want."

"Oh, shit," Alex said. "I think I know who exactly is behind this."

"Would you mind enlightening me as to who you think is behind this?" Augustus asked her.

"You seriously don't recognize these guys?" Alex asked back. "The clue is already in their name, Augie. They're the Real Fans of Abanhfleft, Augie. You know, those fans who think that there's some kind of massive conspiracy out there to stop Abanhfleft from winning any sports trophies."

"Those crazy guys?" Augustus asked in disbelief. "They're the ones behind this?"

"They have to be," Alex replied. "Who else would go to the extent of releasing a Raging Flobberitis epidemic just to put other teams at a disadvantage and help our teams get over their so-called conspiracy? I'm telling you, these so-called 'Real Fans' aren't actually interested in helping our team win; they just want to cause chaos everywhere they go."

"Shit, you may be on to something," Augustus replied. "And if sparking a Raging Flobberitis epidemic wasn't enough for them, it now looks like they're looking to break a notorious con out of jail just to keep the officials distracted with the World Cup's official results."

Augustus then walked over to a window, magically removed the planks boarding it up, stuck his wand outside and then sent out white sparks from his wand. "What's that all about?" Alex asked him.

"The Spaam authorities need to know about what these people are doing here," Augustus said. "I'm going to head off these so-called Real Fans before they can bust this Spencer McCarthy guy out of prison, and you're coming with me. Oh, and before I forget..." Augustus took out some parchment from his coat pocket and placed his wand tip on it. Ink flowed out from the wand tip, forming a message. "Spaam doesn't know that I'm operating here on orders of the Kagawaran so I have to leave behind a note telling them what I'm doing here. I don't know if they'll offer to help me out but I'm sure they'll be glad that the Raging Flobberitis mystery will finally be solved."
