Friday, June 2nd, 2017 (We’ll just go back in time for a little bit
10:35 PM

The only remarkable parts of the Nordlys skyline were the steeples of small Lutheran churches. Some of these were centuries old, having stood since the Christianization of Löptsegl in 1028. However, despite the large Christian population in the Nordlys area, the Norse Pagan faith had managed to stay strong in the countryside. Both of these religions would later become an important component of the Löpt Anarchist “Svartrmerki” ideology centuries later. Other than the churches, the vast majority of buildings were houses, some turf roofed and others with painted walls. There were a handful of conifer trees dispersed throughout the town, but directly adjacent to the capital were fields stretching out for a mile or so. Many of these fields were collectively owned, owing to the Communist nature of Löptsegl. Behind the town, more fields slowly sloped up until reaching a wooded ridge. Many of these fields were owned by independent farmers who didn’t feel the need to collectivise at the time of the revolution.

It was through these individual farms, and over the forested peak, that the ISEP (Inland South-Eastern Parkway) snaked. This paved two lane road could carry one all the way to Feldrhæð if they stayed true to its course. However directly over the ridge, and a little ways off of the ISEP, a small valley rested, and in that valley was one of the few Football fields in Löptsegl, the þingvǫllr Stadium. Owing to the small population of the country, the stadium only seated 7,000. It was first made in 1976, around the time that soccer began to gain popularity in Löptsegl.

Tonight was the night of the a going away celebration for the team, and everyone associated with it was invited. All of the players, trainers and managers feasted on some of the favorites of Löpt cuisine. These included blueberry jam over rye toast, a classic dessert, a dish of goat cheese and dried lamb meat with a side of potatoes. The most notable attraction however, was the wide selection of alcohols available. People chatted all over the pitch, all the while nibbling on their food and sipping their drinks. Even as the night wore on, many of the people still kept drinking and eating. It certainly would be a long flight tomorrow...

(Not that long, but oh well)

AGGREY-FYNN LAND PREPARES FOR BOF

BACKGROUND

From it's founding, Aggrey-Fynn Land has been a soccer-crazed nation. Children run around playing soccer in their spare time. Weekends usually consist of people glued to their TVs or phones watching the domestic league. Fans follow their favorite teams religiously, and the best players are treated like gods. Despite soccer being the sport of choice for Aggrey-Fynn Landers, the national team has never been to a major tournament. The government decided to change this by applying to the 65th BoF in preparation for the upcoming World Cup.

THE TEAM

Manager- Jerry Simmons- 64 years old
Lovingly nicknamed "The Grey Fox" by his players, Jerry has been playing the game since he was a boy. Due to his age, he has seen a lot of football and has many skillful tactics and concepts he intends to implement on his team.
He plays in a defensively minded 4-4-1-1 formation
Favorite food: Zesty Lemon Lobster
Style Modifier: -2

Assistant Manager- Donny Tremors- 31 years old
Donny is relatively young for a coach; some even still mistake him for a player! Don't let this fool you though, he has been Jerry's understudy for 6 years and has gained considerable knowledge about the game. He has a bit of a temper, and can go off on his players or the officials at any moment.
Favorite food: Vanilla cupcakes with Orange sprinkles

Right Back- Quintavius Tracy #14 - 24 years old
Started playing soccer at the age of 16 and fell in love with the game. He plays with a bit of flair; it is not uncommon to see cheeks flicks and headers from him.
Favorite food: Salt and Pepper Broccoli

Center Back- Renato Milan #23 - 23 years old
He got his start in soccer by designing his local club's kit as a boy. Eventually, he joined the team, learning quickly and becoming one of the best center backs in the country. He loves the limelight, and he escapades off the field often distract from his achievements on it.
Favorite food: Four Cheese Pizza

Center Back- Justin Green #2- 28 years old
He is small for a center back, and this made many people write him off early in his career. This just made the natural chip on his shoulder even bigger, which helped in his rise to the top. Notable for his pinpoint passes and energetic personality.
Favorite food: Buffalo Wings

Left Back- Gee Francisco #46- 33 years old
He was inspired by his dad to start playing. Coincidentally enough, he became a left back just like his dad. He uses his pacr to run up and down the left side of the field and help out his teammates.
Favorite food: Avocado Salad

Right Mid- Ronald Johnson #22- 24 years old
Known for his excellent through balls and easy-going nature, Ronald has been playing since his school days. He is a compassionate person, and regularly volunteers for charities in his spare time.
Favorite food: Fried s'mores

Center Mid- Jones Strong #4- 25 years old
Just like his name suggests, he is very strong. His physicality is a huge asset to the team, but he does tend to get more yellow and red cards because of it. He takes part in body building competitions in his spare time
Favorite food: Protein shakes with extra Protein

Center Mid- Roman Kendrick #38 (Captain)- 33 years old
Although he is one of the older people on the team, he is one of the most influential. A born leader, he planned to go into politics at first, until he realized that he could control people all the same on the pitch. A real creative outlet.
Favorite food: Honey nut Cheerios with Orange juice

Left Mid- R.J. Duval #16 - 28 years old
R.J. likes to joke around off the pitch, but on it he is no joke. His deadly shot and pace makes him the X-Factor on the team. In his spare time, he does stand up comedy.
Favorite food: Everything bagel with Ketchup

Attacking Mid: Tanner Grammy #7- 22 years old
His play is very flashy. Since he has played almost all his life, he has mastered many ball tricks, making him even more difficult to account for. He is a singer-songwriter in his free time
Favorite food: Fried Chicken

Attacker: Gordon Whitlick #10- 20 years old
He grew up very poor. This gave him a work ethic unmatched and led to him having lots of success in the game even at a young age. Despite his high skill right now, he still has lots of potential
Favorite food: Syrup Sandwiches

Goalie: Jahseh Twins #1- 30 years old
He was a soccer star when he was young, but then he ended up working for an insurance firm. Two years ago, he got back into the game, and took his spot back as the country's premier keeper.
His ball skills leave something to be desired, but he makes up for it with is sure hands.

Favorite food: Double stuffed Birthday cake Oreos

Substitutes and Reserves

Loynn Triumphs in International Debut!

Match Overview
Soltsteed 0–2 Loynn (Waterson 50', Nash 72')

The atmosphere was electric as Loynn entered the Pitch of the Plains, thousands of men and women cheered Patrick Day's men on while they prepared for their international debut at the Baptism of Fire. The first half was a rather drab display, with only 5 chances created, and 2 shots on target both of which were saved by the Soltsteed keeper. The most interesting display during the first half was in the crowd, as all the Loynn supporters brandished pretzels, with some fans attempting to spell out the names of players with the sourdough treats.

It could be said that this display helped motivate the players as they entered the second half. At around 48 minutes in Soltsteed conceded a free kick to Loynn following a questionable tackle a few yards outside the penalty box. Mark Wilson took a beautiful shot but it was saved by the woodwork and was cleared by one of the defenders. It didn't take long for our boys to fight back, as the ball made it to Adam Watson. The star full back made an incredible run that resulted in an incredible cross, which was finished off by Ace Waterson, sealing his reputation as one of Loynn's greatest footballing talents. Spirits were high after this goal, and the boys were determined to seal the win. Questions were raised after Haydn Sands was booked following a tackle, but the resulting free kick was saved by the safe hands of Karl Weir. The second goal came at 72:32, with Ben Rich feeding the ball to right-winger James Owens, who aimed a cross at Cantaria FC striker Jonny Nash, who left the Sotltseed keeper baffled with an accurate strike into the top corner. A last minute chance came in at 89 minutes, with Lynn City's Adam Watson almost scoring a fluke from a cross.

As the final whistle blew Patrick Day ran onto the pitch to congratulate the players with their convincing victory to mark their international debut. We spoke to Patrick after the match, asking him about the performance: "I was a little disappointed with the performance in the first half, but I told the boys what needed to be done and by God did they deliver. I've been gifted with an incredible team, and I think they've got it in them to go all the way".

The match was also viewed by President Nigel Buckley, a well known Cantaria FC fan, who told LBC Sports: "That match was simply brilliant, and really shows the levels of talent we have in this country. I hope this inspires our children to take to sports so we have an all new generation of great players".

So as the dust settles on this glorious debut, we'll keep cheering our boys on, and we hope they'll bring home the glory!

Finland Football Team - Match Report:
Robin Lod bags a hat-trick and Pohjanpalo strikes two as Finland trashes Heif in BoF opener

Results: Heif 1-5 Finland (Lod 12' 30' 35', Pohjanpalo 20', 60')

Robin Lod punished Heif with Finland's first hat trick in 10 years. Lod scored all 3 goals in opening half and Bayer Leverkusen's Joel Pohjanpalo finished the job in the second half. Heif was able to score once but unfortunately it didn't help them.

Panathaikos player fired home Markkanen's corner on the volley in the twelfth minute to get the scoring underway.

He soon bagged a second, meeting Pohjanpalo's cross eight minutes later and planting his header past Heif goalkeeper. Five minutes later Lod completed his first hattrick in internationals.

Joel Pohjanpalo completed the punishment in second half with his two solo goals.

Head coach Markku Kanerva was very impressed, as 4-4-2 formation worked today. In press conference he told that he expects his squad to continue winning ways in Tuesday. He also praised Lod for his hattrick.

The match garnered 3.5 million viewers, which easily broke the earlier record of 2.1 million viewers

RP permissions: Your RP permissions are mine, short of death and career-ending injuries. If I can send off your players, you can send off mine. If your players can’t be booked, neither can mine. If I can smother the pitch in a bath of chocolate syrup at the half, so can you. Just make it funny/entertaining, if you don’t mind. ;)

Note: Soltsteedish surnames follow RL Netherlands Dutch conventions on surname prefixes: they aren’t capitalised when used in combination with first names or initials, but are capitalised in all other situations. For example, “Carle de Marcht” is correct, while “Carle De Marcht” is not; however, when the given name is not used, “De Marcht” is proper, while “de Marcht” is not.

The default Soltsteedish strategy can be summed up in one phrase: “the best offence is a good defence”. The Stallions play a highly opportunistic offence, lying in wait for an opportunity rather than charging head-on. Possession is mostly confined to the midfield, keeping the ball comfortably away from Emmet Ferdinand’s goal and close enough to Soltsteed’s lone striker Emma Gryndhout for her to attack when necessary. Soltsteed prefer to play a passing game in possession, while attempting to pry the ball away from the opposition when not, either by intercepting a pass or tackling players. The Stallions will attempt to frustrate and infuriate the opposition through tactics of time wasting, bus parking and—in the most desperate of circumstances—dirty play if necessary to achieve the desired result and are unashamed of drawing games and advancing via penalty shoot-outs.

Regadan Super Eagles prevail in first game!

SAN REGADA 2 - 1 ALLAHAKBARIUM
Image '43 *Player 1 (AAB)
Image '87 Hernández (SRG)
Image '91 Saavedra (SRG)

As it was the first match of the Super Eagles in Group D, played at Skaganes Stadium, the atmosphere inside the stadium was tense as both sides and their supporters were eager to grab the first 3 vital points that later on down the line may determine whether one of the teams qualifies or not. It was the first time the Super Eagles had participated in a competition outside of their regional championships and the performance expected from them was definitely set at a high level. Loyal Regadan fans cheered on the Super Eagles, waving flags and chanting songs, as they entered the field and prepared for their first taste of football on an international level, making it known to them that their supporters would be standing by their side throughout this entire journey, and that they would never walk alone. And so, the match began.

There was visible uncertainty on the field throughout the first 20 minutes of the game as the Super Eagles were not as aggressive as their fans expected them to be, instead they opted for continuous passing and defensive measures in an attempt to bring the opposition forward, baiting them into the other half of the pitch and create vulnerabilities in their defensive lines in which midfielders could create explosive runs down before feeding the ball forward. The back four saw the most action in the first half as they continuously passed the ball and frustrated the opposition offense. A good through ball from Toselli to Bejerano in the 31st minute created an excelling scoring opportunity as he bolted down the right wing before laying the ball off to Sagredo who managed to break through the oppositions defensive lines and whip in a high cross, which Saavedra caught beautifully on his head after a magnificent leap into the air, and sent it bolting towards the bottom left corner, but it was met with an equally beautiful save by the opposition goalkeeper whom was able to keep a firm grip on the ball.

Martínez, Callejón and Santos Borré played a key part in the defensive line during the first half as they coordinated their actions strategically and were successful in suppressing several opposition drives towards goal, and the goalkeeper managed to save all 4 opposition attempts on goal, however disaster struck in the 43rd minute after Monreal's long ball to Torres was cleverly intercepted and the opposition launched a quick drive down the middle towards the goal. During this, Tosseli was barged excessively and Regadan players were furious, appealing for a free kick but the referee was having none of it, and during this break of concentration, the opposition managed to slip the ball into the back of the net despite a brilliant first save by goalkeeper David López. The outraged caused by the referee's decision and the subsequent goal boiled over just as the halftime whistle was blew and several Regadan fans, visibly angry, stormed the pitch and were preparing to scuffle with match officials however, the Super Eagles managed them to usher them back, entering the halftime break 1-0 down, however, their morale was as high as always.

With the second half underway there was a visible change in strategy as the Super Eagles resorted to focusing their play more in midfield instead of in their back four in an attempt to create more forward drives and opportunities in the box, which immediately began to produce goal scoring opportunities. In the 49th minute, Torres' fancy footwork enabled him to blitz his way through midfield before laying the ball off to Saavedra who promptly took a shot at goal which would had gone in if it wasn't for the keeper managing to get a hand to it at the last second, making the ball hit the post and fly back into the box, where a poor clearance allowed it to land at the feet of Hernández, who immediately shot from 28 yards out but a frantic save by the keeper and a good clearance ended the attack. In the 55th minute, Santos Borré struck a beautifully placed shot from 22 yards out however an opposition defender managed to put his body in the way of the ball and force it out for a corner, and a poor corner kick resulted in an explosive opposition counterattack that was only thwarted at the last moment by a magnificent save by López. The young goalkeeper also sprang off his line in the 61st minute to intercept a cross which would have landed perfectly on the feet of an opposition striker, potentially taking the game to 2-0 against the Super Eagles. Another attempt on goal in the 72nd minute by Hernández hit the keepers feet, whom had dived the wrong way and bounced off the post and out of play, followed up by a strike from Saavedra in the 76th minute which missed by an inch as it skimmed the post and a spectacular strike from Santos Borré, which remains a hot topic for debates as it looked like it was intended to be a cross, hit the inside of the post before being caught by the keeper.

The Super Eagles pressed high between the 77th and 85th minute, managing to overwork the opposition defensive lines whom had visibly become tired and were having a hard time dealing with the explosive runs created by midfielders and the constant changes in direction and passes that were happening. After an opposition attempt on goal in the 86th minute that was thwarted by a robust tackle from Callejón, a long ball was sent rocketing up the left wing by Callejón, which landed at the feet of Hernández who had managed to bltiz through the field and break the offside trap and was now ahead of the opposition final four and after sprinting towards goal with the ball he produced an absolute thunderbolt of a shot from 36 yards which slammed into the back of the net, prompting the Regadan fans to go absolutely mental with joy. Frantic opposition attacks were thwarted thanks to the brilliance of Bejarano, Toselli and Martínez, with López producing vital double save in the 89th minute to prevent the opposition from winning the game. Another swift counterattack was initiated by the Super Eagles in the 90th minute as the board announced one minute of stoppage time, Tosseli's short pass to Monreal resulted in Monreal producing a perfect long pass to Torres who then launched a fast through ball towards the right wing for Sagredo to latch onto as he bolted down the right wing and sent the ball flying into the box. Saavedra had forced his way into a good position and a mighty leap into the air and subsequent header sent the ball into the back of the net, far beyond the reach of the keeper, just as the referee blew his whistle, winning the match for the Super Eagles.

If this match was anything to go by, Regadan fans have a lot to look forward to as the Super Eagles progress forward with 3 points to their next fixture on the 6th of June.

N.B. I’m skipping straight to the Baptism of Fire since a) I don’t want to always be stuck several chapters behind results and b) frankly, it’s easier to pull off the RP challenges in the present rather than the past.

The Baptism of Fire
Chapter 1: Arrival in Spaam and First Match (aka: Jet Lag)

Paatukar overwhelmed the Kel Assuk national team once they arrived there - but they were too tired to take in the sights and sounds of the Spaamanian metropolis. Flying on a complicated route on several airlines, the team flew from Marandet to Handon in Schottia on AddaxAir, from Handon to Cenial on Air Terranea and subsequently from Cenial to Paatukar on the same airline, on several long flights. Despite the oil wealth of the country, though, the Kel Assuk Board of Sport proved quite stingy in terms of airline mileage, hence the complicated route on commercial carriers instead of a direct flight on a private jet, which the KABS frankly could have afforded. As a result, the team was quite exhausted on their arrival in Paatukar after their three days of travel, and as soon as they arrived, a rented van whisked them away to their hotel in the middle of cosmopolitan Paatukar, where most of them immediately plopped in bed and fell asleep.

Eric Desmond, their Schottic manager, seemed unwilling to let the team indulge in their fascination for Paatukar, however. The KABS had inexplicably scheduled their flights only two days away from the first set of matches in Paatukar, for whatever reason, so Eric forbade the team from sightseeing in the overwhelming downtown - which was alien to the players, considering that most of them had been raised in either a nomadic Amalen camp or a small mud brick desert village. The fact that Paatukar had a thriving business district with densely packed, gleaming skyscrapers made the city attractive for the team; the fact that it was a port, next to the ocean, made it even more attractive; most of the players had not seen a river or lake before, much less an entire ocean. It was distracting, and Eric wanted to minimize distractions as much as possible so that the team could focus on the game. He hoped that their program of training had finally sank in, especially after the Independent Cup campaign. After their Round of 16 loss to Abanhfleft in Mercedini, Eric took the team to a pub in Acoflosa to celebrate their fairly decent international performance - and then told them that if they wanted to win more games against teams like Abanhfleft, they would need to take football more seriously, rather than just as a side job. To his surprise, the entire team agreed - whether it was due to his impassioned rhetoric, the element of fear, or the team's actual willingness to devote their time to football, he didn't know.

So, here they were, in the capital of Spaam, a country halfway across the world from Kel Assuk, competing in the Baptism of Fire, and Eric wanted the team to make the most of their experience here before competing in the World Cup. Qualifying for the Cup would be long and involved, and instead of a leisurely experience, it would be full of trekking back and forth to various countries. It would be fun, and probably worth it, but Eric wanted the team to treasure their experience playing a couple of matches in the same place - and he knew that in order for that to happen, the team would need to be winning, not stagnating. It would be hard with all the jet lag for the team to focus on the match at hand, and Eric worried that the team would not have enough time to acclimate themselves to Paatukar in order to have a maximum amount of success. Therefore, Eric told his team that he had consulted with the team doctor and that for the two days that they had before the first match against New Danican, they would engage in a strenuous program of physical exercise to build up their stamina and guard against the effects of jet lag.

Unfortunately, the program of exercise wasn't enough to fully guard reverse the jet lag - after all, two days of exercise was hardly enough to fully adjust to the 15+ timezones the team had traversed to even get to Spaam in the first place, and it showed in the match against New Danican. The first half of the game was especially horrendous for Kel Assuk; Karim Khattabi's reflexes proved to be absolutely shot, as he let in three goals during the first half, and the defense, trying to guard against an extremely offensive opposition, proved anemic at best and downright counterproductive at worst. Although Anaruz M'Hidi, the former military man, tried to reinvigorate the defense and guide Othmani and Neqrouz to actually cover the center of the pitch during that first half, all of his efforts were in vain as the defense leaked like a bucket with a gaping hole in it. Eric knew that half of the game of football was mental, and knew that the jet lag was impairing his team's focus as they were letting goals in left and right, while the attack during the first half was lethargic as well; Feraoun and Arazi often messed up on simple passes that Khalej and Ait Ahmed sent, leading to the New Danican team gaining possession.

At halftime, Eric tried to give his team a pep talk, pointing out a three goal deficit after the half was not all that hard to come back from, especially with the talent that the Amalen team had. The team was unconvinced at his talk and wondered if their mental state was enough to at least force a draw. "If you keep thinking like that, of course you're going to lose," Eric snapped in return. He made his three substitutions right then and there at halftime: he put in goalkeeper Aksil Saidi-Sief, who had fared better in his recovery from jet lag, as well as the two younger strikers, Isula Azellay and Ashur Ben Hassi, in for Feraoun and Arazi, who had proven ineffective during the first half. At that moment, the team murmured among themselves and pointed at an area of the Paatukar Football Stadium, where fans in the sparsely-attended match were hurriedly getting out of their seats and rushing to one of the food vendors along the edge of the stadium. Eric didn't find out what had transpired until after the match had concluded, but apparently the vendor had offered fans free servings of waffles on waffles (Spaam's national specialty) if they could answer a question about the Baptism of Fire tournament going on. The food craze lasted throughout halftime, and even stretched into the beginning of the second match, which served to benefit Kel Assuk, incidentally. Most of the fans had been cheering for New Danican, because it had players with names which were actually pronounceable for the Spaamanian populace, and the waffles on waffles deal got them out of their seats; obviously, the fans couldn't do much cheering when they weren't looking at the action on the pitch, and when they were looking at that action, they were too busy eating their waffles on waffles to actually add much energy to the game.

In the second half, Kel Assuk played much better than the first half, thanks to either the substitutions Desmond made, the lack of Spaamanian fans screaming for New Danican, or both. Whatever the reason, Kel Assuk had discovered some new energy in their team; Saidi-Sief started to position the defense a lot better, and they were now able to deflect all of New Danican's offense and launch counterattacks of their own. The offense had become more energetic as well, and it soon became clear that a partnership had developed between the three teenaged attackers (Khalej, Ben Hassi, and Azellay) on the pitch, who of course had more energy than their older peers, and they started to knock in goals past the fairly weak New Danicanian defense; by the end of the match, each of them had scored a goal apiece. In the end, Kel Assuk was able to take advantage of Desmond's substitutions, and the different mindsets of the younger players were able to kickstart the team after the horrible start to their match. After seeing what happened, Eric decided to try this second-half lineup as the starting lineup in the team's match against Elgenstad. Of course he was disappointed about the team's poor first half, but he was excited after seeing the team's comeback in the second, and knew the team could go far if they played like they had in that second half. He had confidence in his team, and knew that having confidence was half the battle.

The Löptsegl Saga
”Löptsegl ties with Goluta 4-4”

The first match of Group B was played at Highbay Arena this morning, with the participating teams being Löptsegl and Goluta. The kickoff commenced at 9:45 AM Spaam time, and an explosion of cheers filled the stadium. A lucky number of the local people had taken time off work to experience the game firsthand, while countless others watched on the televisions of local pubs and inns. Very few fans had travelled from Löptsegl itself, so there was little passionate screaming for Löptsegl. However, some of the Spaamanians had taken to following Löptsegl, so there was some more polite clapping when Löptsegl scored. Back home in Löptsegl, practically the whole country was glued to their televisions.

The game started off rather uneventful, going back and forth often, with both teams playing rather defensively. In the 18th minute however, a breakaway by the Golutan forward Player 1 would have resulted in a goal if it were not for a stellar save from Löpt goalkeeper Thorstar Thormodsson. This save lead to a corner kick, which concluded with an opportunistic header by Player 1. 12 minutes later, Löpt forward Æiriksson struck back with a one time volley off a pass from Sigurdsson. Only a minute away from half time (discounting added time), Halldorsson scored unassisted for a 2-1 lead.

However, at the 51 minute mark, only 6 minutes after play resumed, Glamsson was awarded a yellow card after a questionable tackle of a Goluta forward. This resulted in a free kick at the 21 yd mark, which gave away a goal to Goluta. Now the game was tied at 2-2, and another 16 minutes of back and forth play passed. Goluta then scored an astonishing header off of a cross. At the 78 minute of the game, Halldorsson tied the game with an impressive long range shot. Now tied 3-3. Many of the people in the stadium were on the edge of their seats the entire game. The busy fried fish vendors at the beginning of the game stood with no job to do, as no one wanted to leave their seats. The women’s restroom even stood surprisingly lineless. Only 2 minutes after Halldorsson’s shot, the Goluts scored off a through pass. In the closing minutes of the game, with the score 4-3 in favour of Goluta, the atmosphere had become even more tense. However, in the dying minutes of the game, midfielder Sigurdsson scored unassisted. Thus ended the game, tied 4-4.

*Goluta has no roster or permissions at the moment

DE REGAL HINGST
Honest and Impartial Since 1990

Make no mistake: reverse discrimination is to blame for Soltsteed’s opening Baptism of Fire loss
Politically correct KSFB stooges and incompetent northern players blow Soltsteed’s first competitive football match

Bellator, Drawkland — Despite what the mainstream media will tell you, only one thing is to blame for Soltsteed’s loss in its first competitive football match: political correctness. Reverse discrimination against true-blooded Soltsteeders in favour of Anglo players from the north’s flimsy football clubs is the sole reason for Loynn’s 2–0 victory.

A quick look at the Mästerheid tables should clearly prove that clubs like Cherrygrove City, who finished second from the bottom in the Gouddivisie and would have been relegated by most leagues, deserve exactly zero places on the Soltsteedish national team, let alone two in the starting eleven. And St George University, an entirely Anglo club built on the very concept of reverse discrimination, has two players in the starting lineup and another on the bench. The KSFB’s desperation to appease Soltsteed’s fifth column is so great that last-place To Be Determined, who aren’t even Soltsteedish enough to have a name in their own country’s language, have a player sitting on the substitutes bench by the name of Nadia Harrison. (Thank God she didn’t play.)

But it gets even worse when you consider that of the eleven players who started the match, only five were Soltsteedish! The other six—Lily Webb, Bryan McBride, Camille Daley, Rosie Foley, Marvin Hilton and Joanna Morris—were Anglo. Manager Jan-Peter Wietdal couldn’t even cough up the courage to stand up to these fake Soltsteeders and admit that they were responsible for Soltsteed’s loss, rather bowing to the fascist left by calling the loss “unfortunate” and “a case of bad timing”.

Though as far as the multikulti are concerned, Brian McBride didn’t concede the free kick that was instrumental in Soltsteed’s collapse. Camille Daley didn’t cede the ball to Adam Watson for him to go on the volley that would lead to Loynn’s first goal. Marvin Hilton didn’t botch the free kick that Haydn Sands conceded—arguably the only good chance Soltsteed got in the second half. And God forbid you point out that Joanna Morris lost the ball to Ben Rich, who set in motion the chain of events that led Loynn to double their lead.

But what do you really expect from the Royal Soltsteedish Football Federation when it won’t even use our head of state’s crown when specifically given the right to by the Reigning King so as not to offend spineless republican traitors. The Federation have to bend to Soltsteed’s politically-dominant PC Army and find some Anglo players in the bowels of the league, even when they have absolutely no business being there, all in the name of “inclusiveness”.

It is time for us to get the courage to recognise the root of Soltsteed’s fundamental problems and stand up to political correctness and reverse discrimination. If we don’t, these foreign saboteurs will be crashing us out of the group stage in no time flat.

Great article. Let’s start standing up for red-blooded Soltsteeders for a change and not this foreign Anglo menace.

So we are conveniently going to forget that University (from the North Marches, remember?) finished in the top half of both sections and fourth on aggregate. And that pretty much half of SIS FC is Anglophone, as is my local club Royal Michaeltown (but they were unfairly shafted by Wietdal).

I might think that Daley has no business being on the squad, but this article is complete and utter BS.

wietdal: post-match sausage roll assault “completely uncalled for”
royal soltsteedish football federation: “these actions reflect poorly on the soltsteedish people”

BELLATOR, Drawkland — In one of the more unusual events of the Baptism of Fire’s first matchday, Soltsteedish ultras pelted players with sausage rolls after a 2–0 loss to Loynn.

In a match whose second-half was marked by Loynnian supremacy, Anglophone players performed particularly poorly, leading to criticism in Anglophobic circles. Afterwards, a few Soltsteedish supporters threw pastry-wrapped sausages, a dish typical of Anglo-Soltsteedish cuisine, at the departing players, though only striker Emma Gryndhout was struck.

However, a Soltsteedish ultra group calling themselves the “Rottswartheer” (“Red and Black Army”) were present outside the stadium and began throwing sausage rolls at Soltsteedish players as they left. Already on alert after the incident in the stadium, Drawkian police intervened, corralling the ultras and guarding players as they attempted to board their bus. Several players reported receiving bruises on social media, but no other injuries were inflicted.

Why are red and black the Soltsteedish national colours?
Ethnic Soltsteeders are descended from the Germanic Saxons,
whose traditional symbol is the horse. Upon the founding of the
Soltsteedish Realm, Soltsteedish kings took up arms featuring a
white horse (the “Saxon Steed”) on a red field. Black would be
added to the field in 1850 as a distinguishing feature, creating
the modern Soltsteedish colours.

Meanwhile, the modern Soltsteedish flag comes from a banner
flown by the Royal Merchant Marine in the 1890s. The three
towers represent the union of three ancient kingdoms—the
south-eastern Saxland, south-western Sealand and northern
Walland—while the hills represent Soltsteed’s independence
from foreign powers.
The Rottswartheer, who take their name from the national colours of Soltsteed, is believed to have connections to far-right and ethnic nationalist Soltsteedish groups and have openly banned members of Soltsteed’s minority Anglophone community from joining. The group have publicly blamed Soltsteed’s Anglophone players for the loss to Loynn, with several Rottswartheer members under investigation by the Royal Gendarmerie for making threats against English-speaking footballers.

“The Royal Soltsteedish Football Federation cannot condone assault in any form,” the football governing authority said in a statement earlier this evening. “These actions reflect poorly on the Soltsteedish people and the allegations that this assault was motivated by Anglophobic sentiment must be taken seriously. We want all players to feel safe regardless of their race, religion, gender, sexuality, ethnicity or any other characteristic and the actions of the self-proclaimed ‘Red and Black Army’ severely undermine this aim.”

“On behalf of all Soltsteeders, I would like to apologise to the Loynnian players and staff and to our Drawkian hosts,” manager Jan-Peter Wietdal told reporters in an impromptu press conference. “One food item thrown at a footballer is one too many. I am as frustrated as any Soltsteedish supporter right now, but this was completely uncalled for.”

“Frankly, this whole situation was so ridiculous that Ben [Rich (Loynnian midfielder)] and I just sort of stared at each other and silently asked ourselves what had happened after we got to the tunnel,” Gryndhout told the press. “I’m just grateful this wasn’t anything more serious. I was legitimately worried that it was something much worse, but whoever is responsible for this should be thoroughly ashamed.”

The Soltsteedish Foreign Ministry have confirmed that no Soltsteeders are currently in custody over the assault and Gryndhout has stated that she will not press charges over the incident. A spokesperson for the Soltsteedish government has indicated that it will be cooperating with its Drawkian counterpart in case of any future incidents.

Soltsteed continue their quest for the trophy in Spawk with a must-win match against Finland, who defeated Heif 5–1 in the Group F opener. •

CoraSpia 0-2 Gegernia

The atmosphere was ecstatic in the stadium pre-match, and in the Gegernian capital Urzybre. As a last minute entrant to BoF, one could be forgiven for calling them underdogs. As both XIs made their way onto the pitch, the sight of Skeggan the Horse confused many spectators.

At kickoff it was the CoraSpian attack that seemed to have the upper hand, stealing balls and threading into the Gegernian half. The Gegernian defense had to put in a spirited performance, especially Bathsheba Benzene, to stop conceding an early goal. But around 30 minutes in, the tables began to turn. There were plenty of attempts at both ends, often foiled by Skeggan's excrement. At half time that was all cleared, and the score remained 0-0.

Second kickoff brought a new formation in both teams, but it was Gegernia who scored first. At 52' Langton Poncelfreight threaded a floating ball to Alice Freyell, who scored a stunning volley. The wind was now firmly in Gegernia's favour, and a most incredible second goal was scored at 78' after goalkeeper Barnabas Lightfinger kicked the ball 68 meters to land before Skeggan, who promptly dispatched it into the CoraSpian net.

A great game, and a great opening international for Gegernia.

At the Archifel Capital Stadium on Sunday the food hustlers unveiled their new product that they'd been working for since being accepted as the hosts of the tournament. The stadium's marketing department had been given ample time and resources to prepare an unofficial dish that would draw attention and reaction from the rest of the world.

Introducing the "Forkdog." [pictured below]

Acapais assistant coach, Chuck Macklin, said, "You walk around with a sausage on a fork! It's genius!" He seemed to be the only one that thought so, however, because at the first few games at the stadium, their sales numbers were off their target number according to a source who did not want to be named adding, "It's just a little stupid, why would anyone pay 11 lolads (15 Credits) for this?"

Macklin missed Acapais' opening match and loss against Kaidou and was allegedly, found several hours later, in the bathroom, passed out, and surrounded by forks.

PARAKOS 2-2 TVEIDALEN

Image

RASMUSSEN PERFORMANCE SAVES THE DAY!

The opening match of the Baptism of Fire saw a solid match put by Parakos and Tveidalen. A fast paced game which, luckily for the Tveidalener squad ended in a 2-2 draw after an exceptional perfromance put by their young talent, Josef Rasmussen who singlehandedly carried the entire the entire team, scoring both goals for Tveidalen, both of which were equalisers.

The first half saw a more relaxed Tveidalen side immediately pushing for a goal. After a series of passes leading up in front, Tveidalen managed to do the first chance of the match, a Strand shot, which ended in the Parakos national team's goalkeeper's hands. In the counter that followed, Parakos' forward managed to score the first goal of the game immediately, making the score 1-0. With this not being quite the letdown for the Tveidaleners, they pushed forward and several more chances were missed, 2 of which hit the woodwork. Finally, at the end of the first half, an attack from the right side saw Rasmussen 1 on 1 with Parakos' goalkeeper, he simply chipped the ball over him for the equaliser,
making the score 1-1 by the end of the first half.

The second half was quite different, Tveidalen was using the best of its right side however Parakos was the one who scored a second goal quite early in the second half. Another series of chances followed before Per Strand got subbed off to Fritjof Sørensen, it was Tobias Horn's plan to use a veteran for more lethality in front of the box, however he also missed quite a few chances, one of which was an offside goal after a through ball by Solberg. Luckily, in the 85th minute, Josef Ramussen sprinted through the Parakos defence before making a strong shot which got in after it hit the crossbar, Parakos' goalkeeper was unable to respond to such a chance. It was also the last chance of the game which saw Parakos and Tveidalen share the point of the draw. The other match between Löptsegl and Goluta ended in a 4-4 draw which limits the chances of passing out from the group for every team. Tveidalen's next match is against Goluta, again, an away game.

New Danican Sports Network

[Spaam] New Danican has finished its first international soccer game, drawing with Kel Assuk 3-3. New Danican jumped out to an early lead after 2 goals from captain Chance Morris, and a goal by Plaid McGee, ending the first half up 3-0. However something gave the Kel Assuk team a huge bust in the 2nd half with Saden Khalej, Ben Hassi, and Isula Azellay all scoring goals in the half. New Danican manager, Phil Johnson, said that the team seemed energized by the crowd at the start of the game, they seemed tired during the second. He later said that maybe the lack of cheering in the second half due to a waffle on waffle craze at the stadium caused the team to lose energy, but he said its more likely that the team had extreme space lag after traveling across multiple dimensions to arrive at Spaam for the tournament and hopes the team is more rested before the next game against Achesznya. The coach also had this to say, "I'm really proud of my team, they played really great today. They just got winded towards the end, its a long journey from New Danican to Spaam, hopefully they'll be more rested next game, and we will get our first international victory."
We here at NDSN hope that the lions will do better next game.

The train clacked along the track between the sheer peaks looming above. While not as impressive as the four level by five track array along the river from Byen to Havnen, the two level by three track system headed west into the mountains is still something to behold. Nobody lives out this way. There is one line for recreational travel usage, mainly for getting to ski areas. One of the tracks is used to transport mine workers to and from the city where they live. The remaining four are all for industrial use.

At present, Jarl Ottesen, reporter for the local Byen television station was riding the train for mine employees. Branded as intrepid and daring, he really wanted nothing more than to get transferred to the Havnen affiliate so he could get out boating more. At least they paid him well for doing stories like this one. They could have just had him drive a few blocks down to Hovedstad Stadion to do a story on the soccer team, but instead they insisted on sending him down into a mine to talk about beards and eye black.

Having taken the train for an hour, it came to a halt at a platform in a small clearing between peaks. Jarl stepped out of the train along with a skeleton crew of a cameraman and makeup artist. The three were met by an older gentleman in a bright orange safety vest and hard hat.

“Oddmund Ramsfjell,” he introduced himself and took Jarl’s hand, “You must be my reporter.”

“That I am,” replied Jarl taking a moment to rebutton his suit jacket. “This is my cameraman, Leif, and our makeup artist, Runa.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet both of you. If you’ll follow me, we can head down to the mine.”

Oddmund led the trio to a pickup truck and gestured for them to climb in. He drove them back through a mountain pass and continued for about half a mile. They eventually arrived at a lot with a handful of busses parked as well as some other pickups. The buses shuttle the employees through the pass at the end of the day and take them to the mine at the beginning. The pickups, like Oddmund’s, are there just as utility vehicles.

“Well, this is it, boys and girls,” Oddmund announced, “How are you planning on doing this?”

Leif pulled a paper out of his pocket with instructions for the shoot and spoke up, “We’re looking to film three vignettes. One at the entrance of the mine, another in the elevator on the way down, and a last one down in the mine and that’s when we’ll talk about the facial hair and the coal dust.”

“Well that all sounds just fine to me. I’ll just accompany you through the mine and let you do your work.”

The crew got out of the pickup truck and entered the lobby of the mine where all the offices were located. Leif looked around a bit and determined that they should just complete the shot in front of the sign at the entrance of the mine. Runa did some brief touchup on Jarl’s face and Leif handed him his microphone. He took a deep breath and looked into the camera, prepping for Leif’s signal.

Leif counted down from three and pointed a finger at Jarl. “Jarl Ottesen here for Byen Local 6. Today, we are west of Byen at the entrance one of the country’s many coal mines. As you all already know, Elgenstad is competing in the Baptism of Fire, the tournament for first-time entrants to the World Cup. Our players have a very distinctive look inspired by the workers of mines such as this one. Today, we dive deep to take a closer look.”

Jarl held until Leif put his camera down. “Are we good? Does that one work?” he asked.

“Yeah, it was fine, Jarl. Good work.”

“Okay let’s keep moving. I don’t want to spend all day out here. Oddmund, where is the elevator?”

Oddmund led them over to a row of elevators and opened up the steel gate on one of them. It wasn’t much more than a caged-in platform attached to a cable system. The four of them stepped aboard and Oddmund shuttered the car. Pressing a button on the box at the front of the car, the wheels of the cable system came to life and started the descent downward. Jarl moved to the back corner with his microphone and Runa and Oddmund shuffled behind Leif. Just before he started rolling the corner, Runa jumped ahead and dabbed some foundation onto Jarl’s chin because it was glistening a little bit. “Sorry,” she mumbled as she did it.

Leif once more gave the hand signal for Jarl to begin his segment. “Elgenstad has a long mining tradition. Our forefathers ventured into these mountains in search of raw resources to be used for both trade and to build our nation. They found it in the form of iron, coal, uranium, and more. All around the country, we pay homage to these trailblazers. You might notice that the elevator we are in now looks a lot like the ones we use in our buildings in Byen and Havnen. It is just one of the many ways that we honor the brave and innovative people who are responsible for what our nation is today.”

“It sure is getting warm down here,” Jarl commented.

“Well that’s how it is in the mines,” Oddmund laughed.

Jarl could already feel the sweat coming out of his pores. He had never found the heat comfortable. One of the things he liked about Elgenstad is that is cold or chilly at the very least year round. This time of year, is when things start to move towards chilly. Back at the surface of the mine, there was still some snow on the ground that had yet to melt. Jarl’s situation certainly was not helped by the black wool suit he was wearing. He already knew that he was going to have to take everything he was wearing to the cleaners and likely crack open a new stick of deodorant.

After what seemed to be a million years to Jarl, the elevator came to a stop and Oddmund opened the gate once more. “Before we go any further, I’m going to need all of you to put on a safety vest and helmet.” Oddmund offered these items from a bin outside the elevator.

Jarl, under the guise of a joke, said, “First hot and now hideous. My day just gets better and better.” Leif, who had worked with Jarl for a while now, understood that this was a genuine gripe and rolled his eyes. Quite frankly, Leif felt that Jarl might be a good reporter, but interacting with him was more of a pain than a pleasure.

The four walked not very far into the mine and met up with three of the men who worked down there. They introduced themselves as Sten, Nils, and Peder. All three of them were sporting interesting facial hair; a hearty mustache, thick sideburns, and a very intense full beard, respectively. All of them had been on the job for about four hours that day and their faces were dirty with the coal dust and dirt of the mine. Around a quarter of their skin of showing through the dirt and dust. Jarl greeted them and for the last time took his mark.

“Aren’t you going to do touch-up, Runa?” Jarl asked expectantly.

“There isn’t much of anything I can do at this point. Too much sweat,” she replied, taking a small measure of joy in his discomfort.

Leif signaled for Jarl to begin. “Down here in the mines, the coal dust and soot can make a man almost indistinguishable. It has been a tradition for over a hundred years for miners to mark themselves through their facial hair. You can see our friends here as examples of this. Members of the national team have adopted this tradition. Be on the lookout for the mutton chop and mustaches combination of Jon Omholt, the handlebar mustache of Oliver Paulsen, or even Ole Sandvik’s braided beard. While not everyone’s facial hair is quite as magnificent, the team has taking a significant amount of coal dust with them to Spaam which they will be using to mark their faces and appear just as the miners who built this nation do. I’m Jarl Ottesen reporting for Byen Local 6.”

“Well I think the editors will be happy with that one, Jarl,” Leif declared.

Jarl, still sweating like he never had before glared at him, “I’m happy you think so.”

AGGREY-FYNN LAND ENDS IN GOALESS DRAW WITH FURBISH ISLANDS; IRATE FANS BLAME MANAGER SIMMONS

(Nilemas, SPAAM) Recently, the Aggrey-Fynn Lander national team made their international debut in the Baptism of Fire. Optimistic Aggrey-Fynn Landers traveled in droves to Spaam to see their boys play. Those who could not make the journey watched filled the pubs in Aggrey-Fynn Land's pubs to watch the game. Nobody wanted to miss out on such a landmark event. "This is a great day in Aggrey-Fynn Land's history. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I even woke up my daughter early so we could get a good spot!", chirped a cheery fan when we interviewed her going into the Central Pub in Samueltown before the game. The stadium was a sea of red and blue, with Aggrey-Fynn Land flags dotted throughout Nilemas Football Stadium. You could feel the energy and excitement build as kick-off approached.

An unforeseen event

Right before kickoff, a heavy storm tore through the Nilemas area and billowed through the stadium. Due to the fact that Aggrey-Fynn Landers are not used to rainy days, almost every fan had forgotten their raincoats and umbrellas. As a result, the valiant fans were pelted with buckets of water and became drenched. The players also did not seem to be ready for the conditions. From the kickoff, they seemed to be dazed as they halfheartedly chased the ball around. Their tackles were off, and many players started to slip as the pitch condition progressively became worse. The Furbish Islands controlled the ball for the majority of the half, and had some decent chances on goal. Fortunately, Jahseh Twins was able to deny all the shots on goal. By the 30th minute, the storm had passed through. The Aggrey-Fynn Landers woes seemed to disperse like the storm clouds hanging over the stadium. They began to regain possesion, and went into the half tied at 0-0.

Croissant crazy

At the half, a smell was wafting around the stadium. It was the smell of baked bread. Almost everyone in the stadium had a piping hot croissant in the stadium. "It just feels nice to have something warm in my hand", said a beaming Aggrey-Fynn Lander. "The croissant tastes nice, almost as good as a win, I can almost taste that too!", he said with a chuckle. His sentiment seemed to be shared in the stadium. The turnaround at the end of the half had renewed their hope; they believed that they could take the three points.

Snoozefest

In the second half, it was clear who had control. From the first kick, the Aggrey-Fynn Landers controlled the ball and dictated the tempo. Their passes were on point; they finished the day with an 80% pass rate and 60% possession. Despite this clear dominance, there was not much going on the attacking area. Aggrey-Fynn Land had two chances in that half; neither of the two was much of a threat to the goalkeeper. It was a very calm, orderly, and dominant display. This, however, could not cover for the fact that it was not very fun to watch. The fans stayed in their seats during the half; there was nothing to cheer about. The game ended 0-0 and both teams took a point home.

Aftermath

The normally cheerful faces of the Aggrey-Fynn Lander fans were nowhere to be found after this game. "Did I just travel to Spaam, pay for tickets, and get soaked just to watch THAT? It was simply disgusting! They just sat in their own half passing the ball like it was practice! We won't win many games like that!", said one unnerved fan leaving the stadium. Another fan interjected, saying that "The problem wasn't really our possession,
it was our tactics! We spent so much time defending that we forgot about the attack! Everyone knows that attack is the best form of defense! If you ask me, that old man SImmons needs to take a seat so we can see some more exciting football". That seemed to be the mood of the day. The fans were disappointed and dejected, but most of all, they were angry that they were not able to take advantage of the ample chances they had.

The captain, Roman Kendrick, seemed to dismiss the fans' concerns. "With a style modifier of -2, I know that our brand of football isn't exactly 'high-energy', but it works for us. We were able to keep the ball out of our goal and in our hands. We also distributed the ball very well. That, to me, is a win-win. All these small victories will lead up to a big one soon, just you wait." We also interviewed Jahseh Twins, to get his opinion on the team's tactics. "I think they are working well" was his opinion. "This is how we have been training for months, and I wouldn't have it any other way. You may be hoping for goals, but trust me, with the caliber of our attack, they will come. And don't worry about the defense either. Me and the boys have it covered. We held a clean sheet once, we'll do it again, we'll do it for as long as we are playing."

With the draw, Aggrey-Fynn Land sits at second in the group with 1 point and a 0 goal difference. With two group games remaining, the campaign could still go either way. Tune in tomorrow to Lander Sports Network as the Aggrey-Fynn Landers continue their quest for glory in the Baptism of Fire. We'll see you then.

Travesty on a bun; Islana embarrassed by Kecrazia

For the first time in Qailpyme history, a member excluding Qasden has entered the race for WC glory. Announced about four weeks ago by the Qailpyme Committee of Athletics, the football orginization of Islana Lunigo was expected to join fellow Qailpymers, Qasden, in the 78th World Cup Cycle. Along with the qualifiers, the Dragonites also were announced at competitors in the 65th Baptism of Fire, hosted in Spaam and Drawkland.

Now that time has come...for the worst.

Islana Lunigo was drawn into Group D, where they will square off against Kecrazia, San Regada, and Allahakbarium in the city of Skaganes, Spaam. Having been confident prior to this event, Coach Kopur saw this as no threat to the team, seeing how, on some instances, they drew and even won friendlies against Qasden. "We're all in the same boat here," comments Ezekiel during a mini press conference in Moaria before departing. "I believe the fact that we gain our knowledge by watching our greatest allies compete and, in many cases, succeed, I do believe this team has what it takes to fend off any competition thrown at us.". (Remember "thrown" later. It's foreshadowing).

Soon after arriving in Spaam, the team embarked on their first mission at the Skaganes Stadium, where they met the colorful rookies of Kecrazia, led by Coach Charles Grevfrehn. The day was nice. Skies were beautiful and the streets were bustling. Ah yes, a perfect day for SPAWK.

As soon as that whistle blew, the game was off with the ball in possession. 2 minutes in, Mid-Center, Kenoa Mielsie, makes a mad dash down the field, sliding through some of the Kecrazian defense before passing over to Lori Palau. The shot was taken and, to much dismay and sadness, it was off. But nevertheless, the game was still infant. And soon, the fanzones in Moaria were back to their rally calls.

21 minutes in now, Captain Tiku Moayi made his way to a clearing and was about to take the shot. Suddenly, a pie from the stands came hurdling towards him, eliminating his sense of sight long enough for the adversaries to retrieve the ball and for him to get carded via blindly crashing into one of the other players. To those watching, it seemed hilarious. To hardcore fans, it was declared sabotage. Either way, there is one thing for certain that happened— Image

44 minutes, the time was running low like the rivers in Southern Calania. Auni Okeoke drives the ball down and gets stopped by Robert Sousa. The ball went back to Kecrazia for the extra 3 minutes before the half whistle was blown. As the players headed towards the bench, even more pies appeared to have made their way to their faces on both sides of the field. No one there knew exactly what was going on, not even the fans sitting in the same areas as the pie throwers. And as the half went on, more pies were thrown. To put it simply— ImageImageImage

Soon the half, along with the ammunition of pies, came to an end. Starting with the ball was Kecrazia, whom wiped off the cream and bolted through the Lunigan midfielders and into the Dragonite territory. Islana soon retaliated by retrieving the ball and effectively chasing back down to the Kecrazian side, where the opponent sideliners were able to snag the ball as it went passed the line.

65 minutes in, Kecrazian, Naven Xelafen, had the ball rolling towards the goal. As Joni Toklu prepped himself for a block, a sudden banana struck him in the back of the head. Caught off guard, the next thing Toklu saw was the ball behind him, which ultimately put Islana Lunigo in a 1-point deficit. As the game went on, there was almost complete and utter silence from Lunigan sidelines and fanzones as Kecrazia controlled possession nearly 68% of the half. One more shot by Moayi was made before the final whistle blew, and with it, a present for the referee— Image

0-1, the Islana Lunigo National Soccer Team failed to win their first WCC game in Skaganes. Heart torn Lunigan fans began cussing the man or woman responsible for throwing the banana that dazed Toklu during a critical moment. Coach Kopur was extremely disappointed by the result as well.

"Well, today we had not only a rough game, but a rough crowd. The perpetual bombardment of mine and Coach Grevfrehn's players was completely unnecessary, and was extremely dissappointed on how it affected our game. Nevertheless, however, we do realize now that this tournament ain't a walk in the park, especially in a stadium of pie-throwers. We'll need to stay up as long as we need to in order to gain all the knowledge and strats we need before our next game.".

Islana Lunigo will face San Regada on match day 2. Against Allahakbarium, the Regadans held out for a 2-1 victory, ranking them currently 1st ahead of Kecrazia. Strength will be key here tomorrow if we want to win, so make sure to keep on lookout for future reports and broadcasts from ILSN!

New Danican Sports Network

[Spaam] New Danican has just finished its second game of the Baptism of Fire. New Danican(0-1-1, 1pt) lost 1-3 against Achesznya(1-0-1, 3pts). It is a devastating loss to New Danican, who now needs to win their next game to have a shot at advancing. New Danican jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the half, with Chance Morris scoring 41 minutes in. The second half however New Danican collapsed once again allowing 3 goals in a matter of minutes. After the game we interviewed Manager Phil Johnson about the loss. "I thought we played really well in the first half, we were creating opportunities, and our defense was strong," the manager said, "it was the second half that got us once again, we need to keep playing good throughout the whole game. The recent collapses have me angrier then when my wife makes brussel sprouts, except this time I can't just storm off, and buy Chinease to fix it." The manager went on to talk about brussel spouts for several minutes before leaving for a post match interview, he did later shed some light on way he hates brussel sprouts, "well one day one I was around 12 years-old my mom made brussel sprouts and I used to enjoy them, but this dinner I choked on one and almost died. Ever since that day I have hated them." Hopefully New Danican find the solution to their issues before the next game against Elgenstad(1-0-1, 3pts.) The next game is a hugely important one. New Danican is 3 points behind the group leader, Kel Assuk, and 2 behind the two teams tied for second in the group, points wise, Aschesznya, and Elgenstad. A win and a Aschesznya defeat would advance them to the next part of the tournament. A loss or draw and its over for New Danican. We wish the team the best of luck in the next game.

Scoring Summary
41' Chance Morris
62' Player 1
72' Player 1
83' Player 2
