Did the Swiss also invent those harnesses for small children which allow them to be kept on a leash?

Well, it does become society's business when the said consenting adults fancy to bring their preferences out from their bedrooms to parade in the streets, like often happens in Western Europe.
The degree of approval meted out to such blatant indiscretion is certainly baffling to me. If sex is a private matter not to be judged by society, then why announce it in public and thus make it subject to judgement?

Another thing I find baffling is the alarming lack of reaction that Westerners seem to show towards the antisocial behaviour of various unsavoury foreign elements that have infested their societies as of late.

I've always found it odd how those most eager to "get the public (government) out of the bedroom" are the same people most eager to bring the bedroom into the government and public.

That's not odd at all, and it only sounds odd because of how you conflated "government" with "public". People who are oppressed by other members of the public want the government involved to protect them, but they DON'T want the government involved in oppressing them. That's usually what they mean by "get the government out of the bedroom".
Just like a person could want the government to protect them from murderers, but not want the government to join with the murderers and kill them. Just scale it down a bit from "kill" to "discriminate against" and it's the same, and not odd at all.

It's not "oppression" to show distaste for people committing disgusting acts in public (because lets face it, sex is pretty disgusting tbh - at best it belongs only in the private sphere). If someone intentionally defecated or urinated in full public view, you can be damn sure people are going to call them out on it and/or show distaste towards that person (but apparently that's "oppression"). So why is sex given (or should be given) a free pass?
What "consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedroom" is their own business, what they do in public is the public's business.

I can't quite connect "government out the bedroom" with advocating public sex, which seems to be what you find odd.

Perhaps being a bit hyperbolic in my posts, but still. The fact that it does happen is worthy enough of complaint. The Alexandrian Polis wrote:This is mostly a complaint about something that rarely, if ever, happens. Why does it exist?
What, you mean people displaying their sexual proclivities in public? Happens fairly frequently, they even have whole parades centered around that sort of stuff (which is what Sidh, and I (albeit more hyperbolically I suppose) are referring to.

That's a very odd way of putting things down. Would not converting to Imperial be more "new" and "getting with the times" considering how uncommon it has been for the last long time?

Everyone else pretty much uses metric. I don't see why the USA should keep using imperial (and by extension making Canadians continue to deal with fucking feet, inches, and miles).

I'd be the first to admit that I haven't traveled widely, but are there really countries where people have sex on the streets, in full public view?
