If Taxation is Theft, then The Grey Wardens stole quite a bit from The Invaders tonight, though there wasn't much to take.

Tax Returns may have already come back, but that didn't stop The Grey Wardens from deciding to audit The Invaders for some shady business dealings. Two of these gold laundering darkspawn were attempting to sneak out of Antiva, through the mountain passes of The Hundred Pillars, and into The Tevinter Imperium. Ever the watchful warriors though, The Grey Wardens and their staunch Aenarothian ally launched into a pursuit of the craven foe. Fighting through subterranean chambers, strange islands of gemstones, and a group of tribes allied by their devotion to crab-apples, the allied forces struck numerous blows to the Darkspawn foe on this day, sending them back to their underground dwellings with broken axes and decimated numbers. In addition, The Grey Wardens and friends protected a house of animals from what appeared to be darkspawn of the Europeian variety, though they can certainly correct us on this if it wasn't them. All in all, a truly glorious night of tax collection, with ten regions reclaimed from the laundering foe.

Much as it pains me to admit it, The Royal Kantrian Army exists entirely on paper at this moment in time. So it wasn't involved.

Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.

The Thing to Remember About NationStates is that it is an almost entirely social game - fundamentally, you have no power beyond your own ability to convince people to go along with your ideas. In that sense, even the most dictatorial region is fundamentally democratic.

Ah, I could swear I saw a Kantrian JP be the landing pad of one of the nations afterwards, my bad. Corrected. Best of luck to the RKA's revitalization o>

Thanks. Hopefully someday soon the RKA can challenge the Grey Wardens on the field of battkle.

But it is not this day. :P

The Day the Grey Wardens set up an outpost in Kantrias is the day I hand my crown to La Navasse.

As far as Albion was concerned at the time, neither of you were defending it and we wanted both of you to leave.

As far as Kantrias is concerned, the Grey Wardens invaded Kantrias. While Osiris didn't obtain permission to move in their troops - there wasn't exactly a functional government during that period - they were moving in with positive intentions towards us. The Grey Warden's 'defending' was nothing of the sort.

I guess if restoring the region to its prior state and leaving is what we're calling invasions now. This is silly. Whatever you think we did it wasn't an invasion by anyone's reasonable definitions in gameplay.

I don't blame TGW for this one. While the WFE remained unchanged except a line that stated we were here to support Kantrias (a useless line since it didn't deter fendas) Osiris did proclaim themselves raider, and raiders and fendas never talked things out and distrusted each other's motives 100% during that time period plus extra paranoia. lol.
Sooooo like now I think we can get away with passlocking a region without fenda interference. NS2017>'16
