He married in his late twenties to a very young woman (whom he never really loved) just to extend the date he could have children at. Following that, he applied for a job in the army bureaucracy, being tasked to man (and eventually lead) the process of conscription on his home world of New Granada. As he was essential to the war effort, he was not due for conscription himself. This made him disliked by the general populace, and several attempts on his life were made, all unsuccessful. However, a bombing at his home address left his wife and children dead. Edvard was not too heart-broken, since he had already established himself as a non-conscriptable figure. Following the bombing, the planet was deemed ‘rebellious’, after his own recommendation, and selected for strip-conscription. Every able-bodied person was to be thrown into the war machine as revenge. This meant everyone above the age of 15. Then, the children would be allowed to repopulate the world, meaning there would be no conscription for twenty years. It was a busy time for Edvard, who had to tend to a lot of responsibilities. However, within two years, the whole planet had been conscripted. The whole planet indeed. On the last day, Edvard got his own letter of conscription. His services were no longer needed, he was commended by the local governor, and he gained an honourable position on the front line. Before he could say anything, he was whisked away to the front line, after his eight seconds of training.

Though while the de Sauveterres were mostly associated with money and philanthropy, there was also a darker side. Their Founder, Laurence de Sauveterre, had been a notable General in Napoleon's Army. In fact, the de Sauveterre's also had a longstanding military tradition. Well, that was when the average lifetime of a combat soldier wasn't measured in seconds. As the war became bloodier and borderline apocalyptic, the de Sauveterres veered away from offensive military and funded Politics and Militaries, building up Delenatheni's defences through funding Orbital defences.

Lisette de Sauveterre, as regards to the Sauveterre Hierarchy, is the 58th oldest sister of the current generation, out of 121 total siblings. The Newberry Family, the most-known Political family in that quadrant of space, had a long standing history with the de Sauveterres, and were directly funded by them. Lisette and John Newberry met as children during a party held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the inter-familial business relations. While John was considered prime war material, eager to fight for Humanity, Lisette was completely different. Considered a bookish, timid child, Lisette shied away from fights and relied on John to defend her from jealous children and teenagers. Her manner of speech was aristocratic. She has a very upper-class voice, and a rather excellent singing voice. She and John grew up to be very attractive young adults, and were set to be engaged until his section of the family signed up, much to the de Sauveterre's collective surprise. After John enlisted, Lisette started noticing how the rich stayed luxurious and safe while the poor and middle class were being practically exclusively drafted. Feeling a bit disgusted at how unfair this was, she went straight to the de Sauveterre Patriarch and, in rather simple terms, outlined her intent to fight as well. Given his approval, Lisette signed up, went through the rather quick training, and (by a twist of fate), wound up being assigned to the same squad as her close friend and effectively-older brother John, or Jean, as she affectionately refers to him. While still aristocratic and musical, Lisette has gotten a bit of a backbone, now capable of fighting with her own strength.

Due in part to tank-breeding, 5555 was given a fair bit more combat training than conscripted counterparts, he was specialized in heavy weaponry and explosives with the intention of joining the 5550 batch in their own squad. Regardless of this fact and the attrition faced by Humanity in this war, 5555 is trained to use any and every chemical and chemical reaction known to man to make any explosion needed. Finally, a test conducted by the CDF commander overseeing the 500s Tanks gave 5555 and all tank-bred soldiers from the 500s Tanks a special addition to their bio-chips, one that allowed all their memories to be stored and transported back to CDF Command and to other tanks, a measure that is presumed to be an even better method of training Tank-bred soldiers than the norm.
