It's a call on Muslims to engage in worship and answer the call of the Messenger (SAAWS) this verse was relieved during the time of Uhud, Muhammad (SAAWS) called on the Muslims to gather even if they hated it and they had to obey as the Quran demands we obey Allah and his Messenger (SAAWS) obeying the Messenger is Ibadah (worship) like Salah, this is a pillar of Islam it's Shahada Bearing witness there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger, when we bear witness we agree to obey the Almighty.

It's for a good reason that it is put in the same verse regarding combat. Combat is good for the soul, it removes oneself from wordily attachment and desires.
A true Muslim doesn't think whether he likes it or not. He does.

Are you saying you know better than Allah? Allah dictated the Quran a certain way for us to understand he chose to say what he said and we should take it as that his speech.

I find it funny that you claim you have absolute authority to know what is wrong and what is right based on a few Salafi preachers.
in the end, here on earth, might makes right.

Ta'ala has absolute authority, you still didn't address the point A true Muslim doesn't think whether he likes it or not. He does. you just made mass Takfeer, you call me a Takfeeri when you yourself just made mass Takfeer claiming anyone who claims to be a Muslim isn't Muslim if he thinks about the command of God, we are human and we are allowed to have opinions and we are allowed to dislike somethings this doesn't mean that we are not required to do them. This is why Jihad is called a burden and Jihad within itself is a very large definition with multiple types not just armed but in not sinning, fasting, marriage, praying, etc. Any act of worship can be Jihad and some scholars say that by trying to resit sin and what is Haram is Jihad there is a Hadith from the Prophet (SAAWS) saying our greatest battles are with our Nafs. The Quran was written for us to understand so we may obey the creator the worlds and lord of all.

Like with many things, it depends largely on which hadiths, fatwas, sheikhs... one chooses to follow.
But when it comes to Qur'anic scripture, what we would now call sexual relationships are condemned.
A good analysis on sexuality in Islam, at least in my opinion, is found here.
http://www.mpvusa.org/sexuality-diversity/
AT THE PROPHET’S TIME, WAS SEX ONLY PERMITTED BETWEEN A FORMALLY-MARRIED HUSBAND AND WIFE?
No. Sex was allowed as part of a number of relationships. Most of these relationships involved a kind of contract, or agreement. Some relationship contracts were formal. A formal marriage would include witnesses and the marriage agreement might be written down and signed. Other relationship contracts were informal—they were understood by the community at the time but might not be written down or include a formal ceremony with witnesses. In the time of the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH), sex could be part of informal contract relationships, such as “temporary marriages.” When slavery was legal, sexual relationships between slaves and their owners also was permitted.
Today, we usually don’t think of marriages and other relationships “contracts,” but many relationships are based on an agreement of some kind. Some relationship agreements are written down and legally tie people together, while other relationship agreements are made orally (by talking).

Then how do you explain this?
Sounds like some good old dating... or boyfriend/girlfriend relationships
