"Oh, uh.. Nice to meet you.." She said as kindly as she could to the totally tubular Glitch. Seriously though, who was this guy and why did he sound like he was about to go hang ten? Sarah looked out at the game, "So, what's everybody doing?" She asked, finding the display of flying sport equipment strange to say the least. She'd heard of several made up games, like Calvin-Ball, African Dodgeball, Touch-The-Floor-And-You-Burn-In-Agony, but those certainly didn't compare to this one.

The random soccer field suspiciously near the headquarters of the Minnesota Infinites, at least on Thursday nights
Glitch

So the babe in the field said hi. And I could tell that she was an admirer of my super-powered awesomeness. Maybe she had followed my exploits. Maybe she was from a comic book company and wanted to feature me! I could just see my name on a cover in a radical gnarly font that said, "Glitch: Hero of all Heroes and Stopper of Bad Dudes from Getting Things that would Almost Maybe End the World Kind of Quite Probably..." It was going to be a sweet comic. And if this babe lady was from the comic book company, I need to impress her by showing her other things I can do.

"I feel the same, babe lady. So, I'm guessin' that you rep like from one of the comic books, and you're lookin' for the next, greatest, most epic heroes to grace a new comic book line. Well, you came to the right place an' all. Dude. I'm the one you're looking for! I'm gonna be the next great comic book superhero! I've already taken down, um, well, when you count on both hands exponentially, zero bad guys and all. But my time's comin'!... Ok, so like what I was tryin' to speak when I so rudely interrupted myself was that if you are launching a new comic, or even just rebooting an old comic and don't want to use the old hero, I'm your guy!

"So, I'm guessin' that you need, like, a demonstration of my super-powered awesomeness on display. Right. Dude. Check out the soccer field! I'm already doing it!"

On the soccer field right then, someone among the heroes had the brilliant new rule that from then on, the only balls that could score goals were the baseballs, the croquet balls and the hockey pucks. And, that rule went, that in order to score a goal, people had to headbash those balls into the goal. Sideways. While hopping on one leg. Glitch, however, was still somehow playing makeshift goalie by having the goal stop functioning as a goal, so nothing could go in. As if there was a giant invisible force field preventing things from going in. So a good number of baseballs, croquet balls and hockey pucks were headbashed in, only to fall flat a few feet away without going in. Only, then Glitch's power stopped, and the goal started working normally again as a goal. And then the headache-heroes started scoring more goals.

"See that? I was an awesome goalie. For a while. But now, you want to see my other ability. No, you must see what else I can do, so the comic book company can get the full scope of my extensiveness. I'd demonstrate on you, but you kind of need to have a clear noggin' and all to report back to the comic book company. But, since my friend Donut-Guy is here, I'll demo on him. Observe the excellentness!"

Then, Glitch turned to Matthew, and said, "Dude, this won't hurt a bit." And then, used his stupidity inducement power on his friend, turning his friend into a person with the mind of a drooling vegetable, that is, like an alien shaped like a vegetable who drools, and who also is stupid.

And to the lady, Glitch said, "Now he's stupid for awhile. But when it wears off, he'll be like super-genius for a while. Dude."

The angry farmer

So Florida Man was firing his gun at the farmer with the windows down. He got a brilliant idea... roll down the windows. Joshua did thus, and he started actually shooting at the farmer. He yelled at the others, "What are you waiting for, follow the cows! Grab the guy who was shot! Grab, no wait, don't grab the dying guy, eh!" He drove off after the remaining villains, still firing at the farmer.

Whalestron wrote:Nikoli the Bear

Nikoli had run out of bullets, that or his single digit hand had finally slipped off of the trigger. Either way, he fell to the ground with a grunt, a stray cow stomping on him. For some reason, all of his stupid bullets had missed the farmer! Bah! Probably just the wind or something! When the completely American guy firing a gun at another American, (the civil war was probably the most American thing Nikoli could think of, aside from bacon and M16s), drove up to let all the villains in. Nikoli began waddling rapidly towards the car, leaping in once he was close enough. The result was him falling face first onto the floor.

He made a mosin appear, pointing it out of the window. Once it was propped up, he started firing, although it took him a couple of seconds to realize he was hitting the door's hinges, and not through the window. These things happened when you were a teddy bear.. The door fell off into the mud, which splashed all over the car's side. Well, too bad they probably wouldn't be getting that million dollars..

Gaia Concordis wrote:Jason Dolor
Orient, Minnesota- Farm

Jason hissed in pain as he slowly regained his composure.
Okay, you have just been shot- let's figure this out. Almost robotically, he tore off a section of his shirt and tied it tightly around the wound. That would stop the blood flow and keep any more of his blood from spilling out... right? Jason gulped as he watched the fabric quickly become saturated with red. He took several deep breaths. Bullets whizzed by, and the cacophony of firearms filled his senses. It was a melody of death and pain... And yet, none other than him appeared to be wounded. Jason yelled out again in anguish, rather than pain this time.
"Why me?! Of course I'm the only one who's wounded! Just go ahead and harm the one guy who actually knows what's happening!" Jason shouted to the heavens, leaning back against the cow behind him. Or was it the corpse of a cow? Jason could not stomach the idea of checking. Slowly, Jason got to his feet. His legs were like jelly, and his knees nearly buckled beneath him, but Jason managed to slowly stand upright. A quick survey of his surroundings revealed utter chaos. He could almost hear Ave Maria playing as he looked around the field, seemingly in slow motion.

Or maybe that was just the adrenaline...

Jason saw cows stampeding, bullets flying by, Florida man driving his car...
...Wait a minute. Florida man was driving his car.
And it was getting shot up like nobody's business.

With the weight of a thousand suns on Jason's shoulders, he collapsed to his knees, his legs finally buckling under the realization: he would not be able to keep his lifestyle a secret anymore. If the bullet wound did not reveal him, the entry holes in his car would do so most certainly. He fell further down, to his hands, and his body shook as it was wracked with a huge maelstrom of emotions. The car came to a halt in front of him, and he watched as Nikoli shot off one of his doors, the piece of structure falling down and splashing mud everywhere- including his face. With the shock of everything, Jason could not find it within himself to recoil in disgust, and merely wiped off the mud and scrambled into the passenger seat of his car. With his chest beginning to heave as he somberly clicked in his seat belt, Jason had only one word for Florida Man:
"Drive."
With that, Jason wiped off what mud was left on his face on a spare towel he kept in his glove box and practically threw his head into his palms. This entire mission was a disaster.

The farmer was in line and range of Florida Man's lethal bullet spray. And just as he was preparing to be hit by the slew of shots heading his way, a pheasant leaped up out of the tall grass, getting hit, and dying agonizingly. The farmer breathed a sigh of relief. But in fact, with the shots fired back at him, he sat down, grabbed his heart ("Arggh! My weak ticker!") and called 911 to report a medical emergency - his heart condition, and at least several wounded thieves - shot in self-defense, of course. He gave his name, address, email, height, weight, medical history, shoe size, and the last movie he had seen in a theater. Then he hung up, picked up his shotgun for one last blast at the villains, and slumped against a nearby post.

The cows, meanwhile, had all vanished. Those who were trapped in by Diet Cola's rivers of diet cola had stampeded down the road and could not be seen. Those that were on the outsides had all scattered, most to supposedly other fields that could not be seen. It was all quiet, other than the sound of sheriff sirens and ambulance sirens getting louder.

Each villain who had a phone, driving off in the shotgun blast-riddled 3-door car of Jason Dolar each got a textmessage on their phones. It was from some untraceable number and blocked name. But when opening the message, all it said was this:

Mr. Big wants to talk to you. Now. Call him at this number. 1-582-437-2123. What are you waiting for you dolts? HE SAID NOW!

Florida Man
Joshua James
No time after the text message showed up...

The old Florida Man, Jevon, was laying on the ground, bleeding. He got a text message on his mortally wounded cell phone. He looked at it and then tossed his phone to the new Florida Man, who did not have a phone; the U.S. customs officials taking it away when he came from Canada. Joshua looked at the text and called the number it said to. Beep-boop-boop-bep-bop-beep-beep-beeep-booop-boop-beep. He waited for the other line to pick up.
"Uh yes, this is Florida Man? Who's asking?" He asked the other side.
He's banging two coconuts together!
Your sword is blowing glue! Let me try that again, your sword is glowing blue!

A voice on the phone answers...

"You have reached PSYCHIC PIZZA, the home of the best pizzas made by psychics. All psychics are certifiable from the Psychic Order Of Pizza-makers." (Which is POOP for short - now back to the conversation) "Your order comes to $14.83. The delivery began 10 minutes ago and should get there soon..." Then the person on the other end hung up.

While the stunned villain was reacting to this message, the phone gave off another ringtone, as did all the other villain's phones, alerting everyone that a new text message had come in. It read the following.
"Uh, I accidentally sent the wrong number to call in my last text message. Um.
Why don't you call our toll-free number, 1-800-800-1800. Oh, and be sure to type in the
Extension that spells out 'MRBIG'. And you dolts still need to call right away!"

Florida Man got right on it. He typed the number and extension in, waited for the call, then said, "This isn't the pizza place, right? No? Well, this is Florida Man, who is this?"

Ed and Aesculapius
Ed shouted out, "New rule, every time you bash a goal, it removes a point."

Aesculapius was still looking up at the holographic floating 4th wall-breaking scoreboard, when he saw the points start reversing.
"Huh. It says that the score is ♫ to 17."

Suddenly, the twins disappeared for about 15 seconds. The Infinites didn't really notice, because they were too busy with Epic-ball. After 15 seconds passed, they reappeared, wearing full battle armor. Aesculapius had a sword. Ed had a bow.
"It worked, Aesculapius! We're back!"

"I see that, Ed." stated Aesculapius, gruffly.

Even though it had been only 15 seconds for Earth, Ed and Aesculapius had aged 6 years in a faraway land. They had been trying to get back here since they left, but that had almost been their downfall. Namely, Ed and Aesculapius were trying to get back, so naturally, Aesculapius's power wouldn't let them.

"Glitch. Andorra. Mikael. Aero-Gal. Blobfish. No. Wait, Pun-isher. Mr. Lake. Calculator. Coathangerman. Teetotaler. Trashman. Intern lady. Motivator. We are back." yelled out Aesculapius.

Florida Man got right on it. He typed the number...

An automated voice answers, over light sounding, cheezy elevator muzak...

"Hi. You have reached the criminal mastermind super-genius villain network, toll free. Your phone call may be recorded for training purposes and for quality control. To reach your select criminal mastermind super-genius villain, please dial the extension at the beep." Beep.

The Last Abode of Pando wrote:...and extension in, waited for the call, then said, "This isn't the pizza place, right? No? Well, this is Florida Man, who is this?"

A more familiar voice - at least to most...

A cold, sadistic and yet familiar voice answered. Mr. Big. And he said, "Florida Man. Yes. Do you have the speaker phone on? You don't? Turn the speaker phone on then." A few seconds went by, until Florida Man figured out how to do it, and then did. "Is the speaker phone on now? Can everyone hear me? Good.

"YOU DOLTS WERE SUPPOSED TO GET FIFTY COWS! NOW I HAVE TO DO IT ALL MYSELF! YOU NINCOMPOOPS! YOU SHAMELESS EXCUSES FOR SUPERVILLAINS! YOU CAN'T EVEN TAKE ON ONE LOUSY FARMER WITH A GUN?! WHAT LAME-BRAINED SUPER VILLAINS ARE YOU?! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS! LITERALLY! REMEMBER WHEN I SAID THAT YOU WERE GETTING A COOL MILLION DOLLARS FOR ASSISTING ME AS WILLING HENCHMEN? WELL, THAT NUMBER HAS DROPPED! NOW YOU ONLY GET 400,000! IF I'M FEELING GENEROUS. BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE GOOF-UPS LIKE THIS DISASTER YOU CALL YOUR SUPER-VILLAIN CAREERS, YOU WILL GET ME ANGRY! AND YOU WOULDN'T LIKE IT WHEN I GET ANGRY! YOU REJECTS FROM THE MOVIE "THE GOONIES". YOU HAS-BEENS AND NEVER-WERES AND WHATEVER ELSE NAME I FORGOT TO CALL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The car walls gradually slowed down their reverberating when Mr. Big stopped shouting at them. After a few moments, the phone spoke again, this time Mr. Big was speaking in a much more cheerful voice.

"Oh, and don't forget that you are having your super-villains' meeting a week from now on Thursday. I think it's the Communist teddy-bear's turn to bring the treats. Ta-ta."

And the phone went thankfully silent.

CHAPTER TWO:

BIG FIGHT DOWN IN TECH-WAREHOUSE SUPER-CENTER

It has been a week since the Minnesota Infinites defeated their first villain, and the supervillain society of Orient, Minnesota, botched their lame attempt at stealing 50 cows. And this week has seen a lot of people in town sick, and some even dying - of the flu, no less. The town has been strained, with many people calling in sick, and the healthy people in businesses and the town schools having to adjust to picking up the slack.

Since the town of Orient is like many small towns, their newspaper comes out once a week, on Wednesday. Here's what the Orient newspaper had in it this week...

News from the Orient

vol. 87, no. 145, July 23

WOMBAT FLU HITS ORIENT

by Sheila Weston, beat reporter

A new strain of the flu has hit Orient hard. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester were able to study this and pronounce that it was a new strain, when several people from Orient went there for treatment. The researchers have called this, "The Wombat Flu." It can be fatal if untreated, and already 27 members of the community have fallen to this deadly strain. We grieve their losses, and remind everyone to wash your hands regularly, to cover up when you sneeze, and if you haven't gotten a flu shot already, now's the time!

What last Thursday might have looked like - if we had gotten a photographer there

HISTORY MADE

by Randall Gervious, beat reporter

Last week, if you were anywhere close to Zeke Enterprises on Thursday night, chances are you got quite a surprise. Orient's famous skyscraper saw on one of it's towers what looked like a freak snowstorm - in July! Lots of white falling from the sky, again and again. But when Friday morning came, no snow was on the ground. Meteorologists are saying this is the first snowstorm that Orient has received in July since 1891, and were also impressed that the snowstorm was found only in that one area, and not spread all around. Our bizarre weather last Thursday is one for the record books, folks!

SHERIFF WARNS ABOUT CATTLE RUSTLERS

by Everette White, beat reporter

The Orient County Sheriff's department has issued a warning about a new gang of cattle rustlers in our area. A local farmer, who wished to remain anonymous, said that rustlers tried to steal several of his cattle late at night, using, of all things, soft drinks. The Sheriff has given warnings to all farmers to keep a look out for disturbing looking individuals who are hanging out near pastures, and who have coolers in their vehicle. According to Orient County Law, cattle rustlers can be shot on sight, so there is that. Keep your cows safe, folks.

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC

by Sheila Weston, beat reporter

It's not every evening when Orient, Minnesota gets serenaded. A nice street dance outside Chucky's Bar can be heard for blocks. But this was no street dance. Last Thursday, residents of Orient reported hearing an old-fashioned, quaint and timeless classical music piece on endless repeat several times. The music was apparently coming from Zeke Enterprises, the largest manufacturer of widgets in the area. We asked Zeke Enterprises owner and founder, Zeke McDonahuelly-Smythe-Jones, about the music and why the company chose that song to play. He said, and I quote, "Huh?" Well, whatever their reason, it was an intriguing way to create free publicity.

ARREST MADE

by Randall Gervious, beat reporter

The Orient police officer, Sgt. Timothy Carson, made an arrest late Thursday night after a phone call was made alerting Sgt. Carson of an attempted murder. Sgt. Carson said this, "Yeah, at first I thought it was a crank-caller. The guy called himself 'Coathangerman,' as if he was some kind of superhero or something! And it was a really weird kind of call, like, I thought the person calling in was using some kind of illegal substance that kids should say no to. But when I got to the place the caller told me about, I found a man in a leotard who was knocked out and bound. I helped him, and after he came to, this man said he had been attacked by someone downstairs in the building. After helping set him free, I got a description of the assailant. And then, with some help from the employees at this business - which shall remain nameless - we found an employee in accounting who matched the description, and who the victim identified. We have arrested this employee, and he now is awaiting trial. It was good police work, all around."

We are so fortunate in Orient to have Sgt. Carson and his expertise in criminology. Criminals, beware, because Sgt. Carson is on the lookout!

A collaboration post between Talchyon and Whalestron

Postby Talchyon » Fri Feb 03, 2017 4:40 pm

Orient, Minnesota Town Legion Hall, room 2 - The Headquarters of The Minnesota Infinites (on Thursdays at 7 pm).

It was a 7:00 on a nice Thursday evening in Orient, Minnesota. Already the chairs had filled in the town Legion Hall, room #2, for the meeting. A paunchy, wispy-haired, balding middle-aged man with pop-bottle-bottom glasses, a schnazzy super costume, complete with three pocket protectors - one in each pocket and one inside another - and several pens, and what looked like yellow galoshes, stood up.

"Um, hi, everyone. Glad you all came back. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Captain Calculator, and this is the meeting time for the Minnesota Infinites! We have lots to talk about tonight, so would anybody like to say something first?"

A hand nervously rose from the middle. The person was a large man with a beard, wearing flannel. He came to the podium in front of everyone, and said, "Hi. I'm Barry." The room responded, "Hi, Barry." "And I have a problem with drinking. It all started when I was young, that one night when a bunch of my friends decided to see how many medical problems we could create for our livers by..."

Calculator stared, and then interrupted. "Ahem. Um. Barry. I think you have the wrong room. We're the Minnesota Infinites. Room 2. You're Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is over there in that room." Embarrassed, the flannel-clad man mumbled an apology and under his breath said that Barry wasn't his real name, and then sheepishly left.
When he had left, Calculator asked again if there was anyone else who wanted to say something. Not a hand was raised. Public speaking wasn't the strong suit here. "Well then. If no one wants to say anything, I think it's time we opened our meeting. Let's say the Minnesota Infinite Pledge.

I am a superhero.
I am not weak or weenie.
I am worthy of taking down supervillains.
I am worthy of getting a comic book someday.
I will use my super abilities for good, not evil.
I am an Infinite!

"Great," said the good, middle-aged soccer-dad-turned-calculator-shooting-lovable-hero-guy. "You'll be pleased to know that we have a few new faces here tonight. Here's one I'd like to introduce: our new intern. She's going to be our new secretary." (A mild bit of handclapping went up from the Teetotaler, who had a stiff upper lip, and no longer had to do it). "She can make copies of things, and she makes a mean decaf! Give it up for, oh, what was her name, um. Shoot. I guess, Intern-coffee-lady-secretary-person. I don't remember her name..."

But looking around, the intern wasn't there. Where was she? Did she not know the Minnesota Infinites always meet on Thursday nights at 7pm? Scratching his head, and hemming and hawing, Calculator decided he could either let the Teetotaler stand up and give a report as his last official act, or find some way to kill the time while they waited. Maybe by having PUN-isher do some stand-up comedy or something...

On the same Thursday at 6:30 PM, the intern was walking across Orient, taking her sweet time. She had plenty of time to spare, so she figured she could enjoy a scenic route to the meeting. Fresh car exhaust, alley cats, a man proposing.. Huh. Sarah stopped to watch the scene. It was lovely, a man on his knee, offering a ring. No, wait.. The woman slapped him across the face and took the ring, running off.

Sarah took another route, noticing a couple squad cars rolling onto the scene. This one was probably more scenic, although not in the charming way. It was an alley filled with graffiti and moist walls. There appeared to be some breathing lumps- no, breathing people. She shuffled through as quick as she could, looking down at her watch. 6:47
How had she spent so much time?! She absolutely couldn't afford any more distractions! She shuffled quickly onward, knowing very well the detour would take her a few extra minutes.

Sarah paused at a fire hydrant outside of the Legion Hall, looking down at her watch. She had a full five minutes to spare! With a triumphant step forward, she-
Sploop!

Sarah looked down, noticing that she was standing in wet cement.. More specifically, wet cement that was only as long as a single sidewalk square. Typical. She stepped out of it, leaving some shoe prints in the stuff. She grumbled to herself as she evaluated the damage. She'd definitely need some new shoes after this, but other than that, she was golden. But then came the worker..

The man was tall, at least taller than her, and looked angry. "My cement!" He gasped melodramatically. "I- Sorry, I'm in a bit of a hurry.." Sarah stammered, wringing her hands. "Is there anything I can-"

The man was in tears, weeping at the sight of his fallen pride. He was lying down next to the square, stroking it gently. Sarah made to say something but was cut off by another round of sobs. The man appeared to be kissing the stuff, leaving grey all over his face and hands. As Sarah went to move around him, he got up. "You! Coward, villain!" He cried, running towards her. Sarah's first instinct was to take off running, which her feet happily did.

Round and round the building they went, the man almost catching her several times, and her speeding up just in time to lose him. It wasn't until Sarah spotted the empty window that she chose to hide. She looked around, hearing the man's shouts from the corner of the building, then leapt into the building. She landed on a wooden floor, pushing herself up against the wall. The man obliviously passed her, leaving Sarah to greet the heroes.

"Oh, hello!" She said quickly as she spotted everyone sitting in the chairs around her. "That was, uh, a dramatic leap! Thought I'd demonstrate.. So! Captain? I'm Sarah, uh, the intern? Not sure if you remember or not.." She stated, and was greeted with a chorus of a monotonous, "Hi Sarah.."

Realizing her mistake, Sarah left apologizing profusely for interrupting the AA meeting. She opened the Infinite's room, announcing her presence. "I'm here! Sorry I'm late!" She said, panting as she walked over to the podium. She was roughly ten minutes late.

The new girl had thankfully interrupted a not-quite-so rousing financial report by Coathangerman, who had basically spent the last ten minutes trying to stretch the time by reciting obscure financial details no one cared about (such as the average mean of the sum of the last seven year's previous interest rates in pie chart and by graphs), because there's only so many ways you can express how you came to having a whopping 73 cents left in the budget.

The good Captain Calculator said, "Excellent. Here's our new Intern. We're going to let you introduce yourself and then I won't have to. And why don't you give us the secretary's report of everything that happened last week."

Sarah nodded, somehow still holding the folder filled with vague news reports on various events. She'd also heard from one of the heroes about their accounts of what happened during the whole bomb threat thing followed by forcibly dancing the can-can. She cleared her throat, opening the folder.

The first thing she noticed was the newspaper hadn't actually mentioned any account of their heroics last week. There was one tiny small print report mentioning Coathangerman by name, only her copy had been covered in a red liquid she hoped wasn't blood. She slowly looked up to Glitch, who looked as dazed and out of it as ever, and then back down. She hadn't had any Kool-ade in years, and she knew for a fact this hadn't received any. With another glance at Glitch, she spoke up, deciding she'd need to wing it.

"Well, for starters.." She began, flipping through the small folder of few notes. "You heroes responded to the bomb threat made by the Can-Can man.. And eventually took him down with the power of.. Teamwork?" She finished this with a questionable glance, looking over to Calculator for assurance. Realizing she probably wouldn't get any, she went back to looking over at the crowd. "And to celebrate this.. Everyone went to a soccer field and played a game of.. Super powered soccer. And nobody ended up winning." She concluded, trying to stay as vague as possible to hide the fact that she knew nothing at all.

Calculator said, "Excellent! Yeah, that's about what happened. It was our first real supervillain that we defeated - by ourselves! And we almost got a mention in the newspaper, did you see that? Coathangerman was spoken of by name! Excellent! Just excellent! The Minnesota Infinites are moving up in the world.

"So, last week, we received a fake bomb threat. There was no bomb. There never was a bomb. It was just a ruse to get us out in one place so this Can-Can Man person guy could get at us. We still don't really know why, or what he has against us. And since then, there hasn't been a peep - even though, I guess, apparently the newspaper says he's now free and was never arrested in the first place." And Calculator sighed. "Well, maybe we'll run into him again."

After clearing his throat again, and taking a drink of water, the good middle-aged Captain said, "And, in other more personal news, I want to announce that I have a new job! You might have seen in the paper that there was an employee from Zeke Enterprises who was arrested -ahem, falsely arrested, on an attempted assault charge for beating up the Can-Can Man. Well, that left an opening at Zeke Enterprises. And I thought about it, found out they had a really good dental program, and so I got an application and filled it out. And I was hired! Oh yeah, and then I told my wife. She was pretty upset. But I think she's over it now. So, anyway, I'm working in the accounting division. My position is "Junior Number-Cruncher and Bean-Counter." And for whatever reason, there really were crunchy numbers and literal beans to count, mostly pinto, but with some green, some lima, some black and some refried.

"Well, friends, that concludes our meeting. I think the PUN-isher brought donuts again. Why don't you all get one?"

Meanwhile, across town... in a basement...

The group of villains (that still had to vote on a name for their society) crowded in, elbowing each other and bumping into everything. A little space was cleared towards one of the walls, and their fearless leader (or at least, the costumed guy who led the last meeting) said, "Ahem. Ahem. Welcome, fellow supervillains! We are thankful to Ulterior-Motive-Man, who is letting us use his place for our meeting tonight!" He nodded toward a villain with sinister dark eyes that darted everywhere, and who found conspiracy theories in every possible thing known to man. The speaker continued, "Welcome to our meeting of the Orient, Minnesota Super-Villains Club..."

A woman's voice rose up from the assembly. "Hey! We all voted to not have that name last time!" An angry grumble sounded from the villains, who were clearly annoyed that they had to hear that name again.

The podium speaker looked crestfallen, and said softly, "But I liked that name..."...

The woman shouted, "Too bad, Eric! We're not going with that same lame name. We want to be called something else."

Here, the podium speaker said, "But we don't have any new names. Nobody came up with anything. And sent in the paperwork for it."

"Eric, we can just think of a name."

But the podium speaker wouldn't have it. "No. Unless we do it officially, we're not calling ourselves anything that might bias opinions for when we do vote. If you want to submit an idea for a name, just fill out the form (in triplicate), get a notary and three witnesses you don't know, pay the processing fee, wait the standard 22 days, and then we can decide if we like it enough to put it on the ballot for the next meeting's agenda. It's simple, really. But no one has done it yet. So, until then, I'm going to call us, 'The Orient, Minnesota Super-Villain's Club."

The lady threw a hissy fit. "Eric, we can't be called that, because we voted we wouldn't be called that!"

"Well then, what can we call ourselves?"

"...How about, "The Group That Was Formerly Known As The Orient, Minnesota Super-Villain's Club?"

After looking around some, and not seeing any person so incensed against the name that they were going to blast him twenty new holes in his body, he thought it would suffice. For now.

Just then, a middle aged woman opened the door carrying two laundry baskets. She was humming tunelessly, loudly, and annoyingly. She went over to a washer/dryer, and started putting detergent in the washer, and then putting the clothes in.

Ulterior-Motive Man said, "Mom! This is the worst time!"

Hearing her son's voice, the woman looked at him and said, "Rexy! I just need to do some cleaning."

"Mom! I told you we were all coming here tonight."

"But Rexy, you know that Thursday is laundry night. I have all your underwear here that I need to wash. If I don't get this washed tonight, and you go out tomorrow, you might get pulled over by the police and you might have DIRTY UNDERWEAR!"

An embarrassed and heavily mortified villain put his hands in his head, and said, "Mom!"

"I won't have any son of mine getting arrested with dirty underwear on! So you'll just have to bear with me as I continue my wash!" And she went back to her task, humming again, maybe the same tune, but it was kind of hard to tell. The mortified, Ulterior-Motive-Man cowered in shame.

The speaker at the podium said, "Well, then, um. Ok. I want to say that we had an exciting week last week. For starters, Can-Can Man didn't get arrested, so there's that!" The leotarded villain waved. "And again, we had a slight mishap with our old building as you know. It was demolished by anvils. Yeah. Insurance won't cover that. So, we're stuck meeting here until it can get rebuilt. Fortunately, the city doesn't know we were there, so they might foot the bill." Some small cheers rose.

"Also, we had some problems with those pesky Minnesota Infinites! Those cowards! Those low-lifes! Those horrible, do-gooder, people who somehow came out ahead! The Infinites will pay for what they have done! PAY, I tell you! And one day soon, we, the supervillains of Orient, Minnesota, will fulfill our goal! We will meet our purpose! We will destroy the Minnesota Infinites!"

A loud cheer went up from the group. As the noise was dying down, the clear sounds of humming were heard, followed by the sounds of a dryer beeping that it was done. The matron of the house began taking warm clothes out.

"Ah, fuzzy." She said.

New Jokkmokk, Minnesota
July 23
1600 CST

Henry "Hot Air" Hinshaw landed on the cold pavement, rolling up his green-and-yellow balloons so as to make sure that they didn't touch the ground. He brushed himself off and warmed his hands before entering the New Jokkmokk General Store.

"Hey! Look who it is! It's Blimp Man!" There were smiles on the faces of all the old-timer patrons, and confused looks from a few of the visitors. "What brings you down here? It's the middle of summer!"

"Ah, well, the winds changed for a day or two," Henry replied. "I figured that, while I would be passing by, I would stop by and rob you for a little bit."

"Well, you have to do what you have to do. Say, have you made any new contraptions?"

"Why, yes!" Henry strolled up to the counter, pulling out a yellow finger rocket. "A Jefferson gold color this time. This doodad releases an irritant upon impact. Reloadable and reusable, too!"

"Wow! How does it work?"

"Oh, I'm not going to give away my villain secrets away that easily!"

The patrons of the general store let out a chuckle.

"Well, what'd'ya want today?"

"Well, this place makes the best butterscotch; I'll take a few of those. Also, if you could toss me a few of the bags of deer jerky and that big jar of jam, I think I'll be satisfied."

"Well, here you go. The total is $10.88, but I presume you won't be paying that, eh?"

"Indeed, I won't! That said, I did get a few dollars from some odd jobs. Yours if you want it!"

"Why, that's twice what you paid us last time! You do know, though, that I'll have to call the police."

"Why, yes you should! I'll just be taking these, though. Good day!"

The crowd in the general store waved good-bye to him, the visitors still quite confused. As he stepped outside, the clerk called after him. "Say, where will you be going this time?"

"There's a little town in the middle of nowhere by the name of Orient, Minnesota. I have some old 'friends' I want to harass for a little bit!"

"All right, then; have fun!"

Henry inflated his balloons and left the ground just as the police showed up. "Good day, officers! Thank you for your service!"

The town sheriff chuckled and saluted Blimp Man, while the rookie cop simply stared up, not certain whether or not to shoot the odd civilian.

Orient, Minnesota
July 24
1930 CST

Blimp Man drifted into town, the bright yellow seal of Jefferson covered by a warm jacket and partially tucked under his blue jeans. He had brought the deer jerky with him in his backpack, and he was spending the evening listening to songs.

Singing was the best way to pass the time, he had learned. Portable gaming devices and anything else he needed to hold could easily slip through his hands. Occasionally they would land on people, causing significant (albeit accidental) damage. Most often, they would land on the ground, although he did know a device or two that could actually take one or two drops and still live to tell the tale. He would never forget the time that a little kid caught his CompactConsole 2000 SuperPro and so was prematurely introduced to the Guts Galore franchise. Henry chuckled in reminiscence. That kid's going to grow up and become a serial killer one day...

No, the best and safest way to pass the time was to listen to songs from his music-playing device in his backpack, connected to his head via headphones and handpicked for the travel. His most recent tune was about to draw to a close, and he was no stranger to singing at the top of his lungs:

"That's why I'm loneleeee, I'm Mr. Loneleeee
I wish that I could go back hooooooooome!"

He waited for the few milliseconds for the computer to switch tracks. Ah, another old song! I wonder if anyone in the town is noticing. Eh, nobody cares.

YOU SAW ME STANDING ALOOOOOONE..."

I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.
Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

Ed and Aesculapius
Although it felt like the story had just faded from Epic-ball to the next Infinites meeting, it had been a week since the two returned from the other land. That land was very different from this one, having a variety of mystical creatures. Oddly enough, no one had noticed that their blue super-suit was no longer with them, and that they were now wearing full battle armor. Of course, this was battle armor with a spork on the middle leg. The twins got up after Calculator, Coathangerman, and Sarah had got done talking, and went over to where the Pun-isher had laid the donuts. Ed had bought another ream of paper in the time that it had been faded, that he now kept in his satchel.

Aesculapius asked Ed, pointing at Pessimo, Public Servant,
Captain Predictable, Aero-Gal, and Railroad, "Hey, do you have any ideas
as to why those people are flickering?"

"Nope."

The donuts were good. Good were the donuts. Were the donuts good? Good the donuts were.
The twins seemed different than the last week. The other people couldn't place it. Oh. That's it! Aesculapius cut his hair.

Florida Man
Joshua James

So this was Ulterior Motive Man's house. Joshua was half-sure that the teddy bear was supposed to bring snacks. In the week since they had fought the farmer, he kept thinking that Nikoli was going to attack him. He dazed off during the meeting. Then the woman came down the stairs. Was she a villain? It's hard to tell with these Americans. Maybe. He wondered what had happened to that old Florida Man.

Old Florida Man
Jevon Ryner Jamison

"Hnnngh. Hnnngh. Thank goodness for that tall grass, otherwise that farmer man would have shot me." Jevon had been crawling for a week away from that ranch. His only sustenance had been the rivers of Diet Cola. Since his hips had been ran over, he couldn't get up. He finally made it to the Hackenwheeze Pharmacy. He couldn't reach the door knob.
He's banging two coconuts together!
Your sword is blowing glue! Let me try that again, your sword is glowing blue!
In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made many people very angry, and has widely been considered a bad move.

Mikael yawned as Coathangerman and the intern.....Srah? he thought, began talking.

He hadn't been paying much attention to what they were saying, as he didn't need to e told what they were up to. He took out a small rag from God knows where, and began to slowly polish his Kitty Cannon. He restocked his cannon recently, what with all the miniature paradoxes held inside the cannon, and the time-space disruptions, and the minature niclear fissions as the power source, it was hard to keep clean, and keep stocked. But he did it. Went over to Maui and stole some kittens. But enough about that, he pulled out a tiny microwave from his suitcase, and plugged it up into the nearest infinite, and it began to emit a humming sound before spitting out a small, blueberry pie.

He looked around at the other infinites, and merely said, "No, you may not have any pie. But thanks for offering the donuts!"

Matthew Smith

"Foolish hero! Can't you see that not only the world, but the entire universe, belongs to us! The Anti-Infinite Infinites will take this planet from underneath your very feet and wreck havoc across the-!"

"Let's just pause that there, oh, what were we talking about again?" Matt looked around the room. He had been watching the latest installment of the new Infinities cartoon (whose producers claimed that the Minnesota branch wasn't in it at all because "they forgot") on his phone. It wasn't until he had gotten to the good part that Matt realized that they were in fact at a meeting. And maybe he was supposed to pay attention. Who knew. Clearing his throat, Matt raised his hand to try to get everyones attention. "Hey, dudes and dudettes, I was just curious if you'd like to see a new little project I've been working on. For the last couple days I've been focusing on improving my power. 'Leveling it up' per say. And I think I've made a giant leap that will hopefully lead to improving all of ours. Would you like to see a demonstration?"

"BLUE MOOOOOOOOOOOON...
YOU SAW ME STANDING ALOOOOOONE..."

Just then, the phone belonging to Henry, aka, Blimp-Man, began ringing a dialtone connected with his text messaging. Someone had left him a text.

When he gets it open, it reads the following:

I have need of your... abilities.
Come to the address below.
All will be explained.
BIG MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
And a chance to make the
Infinites look like fools!

(Beneath this, was an address... in Orient, Minnesota).

If Henry the Blimp-Man were to look up at the nearest street sign, he'd see that he wasn't anywhere near that address...

Town Legion Hall, rm. #2
Thursday night, after the Infinites' meeting

All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door. The man who had delivered that message the last time, Jerry was his name, stood there looking confused at something. As if he couldn't believe that something so dumb it couldn't be real, but was now discovering that yes, it was in fact real. And happening right before him.

The Teetotaler noticed the visitor to the social hour of the meeting proper. He briskly walked over and greeted him in standard British fashion, "Cheerio." Which made Jerry even more confused, and looking for whole-grain oat cereal loops. Finding none, Jerry said, "Um, hey you guys, whatever-weird-outfit club this is. This guy behind me came to our meeting, and I think he got the wrong room by mistake. He seems like he fits in with you weirdos better..."

A small man wearing an out of style suit coat with a brown bow tie and suspenders, stepped out from behind Jerry. The man had a card in his hand, and looking at it, began to sing. It was a different kind of song, mostly a mix of jazz, alternative, easy listening, and talentless hack. "I-am-your-singing-telegram. Infinites! Infinites! Only-you-can-help-me. I-need-super-powered-transportation-help. Oh yeah, oh yeah. My-high-tech-laboratory-equipment-in-my-warehouse-is-needed-in-my-laboratory. Shoo-bop, shoo-bop. I-can't-hire-normal-armored-transportation-because-my-enemy-who-wants-to-financially-ruin-me-has-hired-super-villains-to-steal-it. Doo-bee-doo-bee-doo. Without-this-prototype-lab-equipment,-I-am-financially-ruined. Oh. Oh, oh oh. So-come,-Infinites-and-transport-my-high-tech-prototypes-from-the-warehouse-whose-address-is-written-down-for-you,-and-bring-all-of-it-to-my-private-laboratory-at-the-other-address,-also-written-down. Price-is-negotiable-but-I-can-pay-well,-like-six-figures-well. Sincerely,-Dr.-Juneau-Hu,co-founder-of-Hu-D.I.S.S.-Labs. Shoo-bop-shoo-bop. Woah-woah-woah. Ah yeah!" Then, the smiling singing telegram, who was thankfully done singing and needed to take classes in matching pitch and aural training, stretched out his hand with a note that had two addresses, one marked "Warehouse" at the top, and the other marked "Laboratory" at the bottom. On the back of the note was a picture of various kinds of technological machinery, obviously the tech prototypes this Dr. Hu wanted moved.

Coathangerman was listening in the whole time. "I've never heard of this guy. Dr. Hu? Seriously? But come to think of it, there is that laboratory in town. The last part stands for Digitalized Ionic Synchronistic Systems, Hu-D.I.S.S. for short. He must stay out of the public eye, so it must be pretty hush-hush. I think this lab does some work for the military, but don't ask me what exactly it makes." The Teetotaler took the card with the addresses on it from the singing telegram, and the man who could barely carry a tune only after working out thankfully exited stage right, and left. Coathangerman continued. "If this Dr. Juneau Hu needs help, and there really are supervillains who are trying to steal these items, then I can see why he needs us."

At which point, Captain Calculator beamed. "This sounds like a job for... the Texas Infinites! But because they're a little far away and probably won't think this is up to their level, we'll just have to do!"

Across town, at Ulterior-Motive Man's basement
After the villains' meeting

The laundry was done... for now. And Ulterior-Motive Man's mother had thankfully taken up the laundry to fold the warm clothes upstairs. As the villains were trying to socialize (and doing as well as sardines crammed in a can), a familiar, and disturbing holographic giant face appeared at the front of the room. The villains quaked in fear. Few who saw this face lived to see it a second time, and this was their second time. A hushed dread fell over the villains, except for the subtle fizzing sound of Diet Cola.

It was Mr. Big. Again. And he wasn't happy.

"Villains! I come again to address you! And despite your horrible performance at my last bidding, I have decided out of pure graciousness and generosity to give you another opportunity to serve. Only since you couldn't get 50 measly cows, I have dropped your pay... to a mere $350,000. Each. No longer will you be millionaires, because you couldn't rustle up any cows! I had to get them all myself!

"So now, let's see if you have what it takes to do this task. It's going to be a fun one. I need you to steal some high tech scientific equipment. It's in a warehouse!" At this, the president of the villains' club who had been speaking and asking for forms in triplicate (whose name, coincidentally, happened to be Dr. Bureaucracy), grew very worried. They had just destroyed their old warehouse. Their luck wasn't running too well with keeping warehouses in one piece as of late.

But Mr. Big paid no attention. "This warehouse is here, in Orient, at this particular address." (An address appeared beneath Mr. Big's giant holographic head). "And I need you to go steal these pieces of high tech machinery - TONIGHT!" Then, the face of Mr. Big faded out of existence, and in place of the face, appeared a number of images of highly technological machines. Somehow, the voice of Mr. Big continued as the slideshow demonstration of the tech scrolled through the list of things to steal. "Get a good look at this, villains! I will need all of this! All of it, I tell you! Ha ha ha ha!"

The giant holographic face rematerialized out of the last piece of tech that was being shown. The voice continued as normal (well, if you count the maniacal tones of Mr. Big 'normal'). "But there will be problems! It has come to my attention that the Minnesota Infinites are going to be there, and they also will be trying to move this tech elsewhere. They cannot succeed! You must get this out, and bring it to the address I will send you. There may be a new villain joining you to help you. Because if my plan succeeds, everyone will know that the Minnesota Infinites are not worthy to be called super-heroes. They will be embarrassed! Ridiculed! Humiliated, while we cackle fiendishly at them! Ha ha ha ha! Everyone will know that the Infinites are pathetic! That they are weak! That they play dress-up games with paper dolls! But you must hurry! Ha ha ha ha!"

And with that, the giant head faded out of existence. The room was silent for awhile. After a few moments of stunned silence, Diet Cola's voice broke the quiet stillness. "So, this is going to show everyone the things that they already know about the Minnesota Infinites? Because everyone already knows that they're pathetic and not worthy to be called superheroes... Well then. I could go for humiliating them. 'Specially after last time. Count me in."

Jason Dolor
Orient, Minnesota- Basement of Ulterior-Motive Man

Jason leaned on his hand, uninterested in what the speaker had to say. In his mind, he was going over what had happened last time again and again. What had gone wrong? What had he done?

Why had he been allowed to live?

Jason could hardly think of an answer. The powers that be were fickle and capricious... Did they decide to keep him alive as a snap decision? Was his injury planned from the beginning? Was it planned at all? Jason sighed. The thoughts he had tried so desperately to keep out of his mind over the past week were surfacing. He hardly noticed the small woman coming into the basement- he did, however, notice the shriek of 'Mom!', which was enough to snap him out of his trance-like state. A small smile curling the edges of his lips, he chuckled genuinely to himself for the first time in about a week. Ever since he had been wounded in battle (it sounded a lot cooler than 'shot while cow-robbing', to him) and subsequently healed by a kind villain (who was able to heal bullet wounds... only bullet wounds), he had been moody and out of it. Living through a near-death situation would do that to a child, in Jason's mind. He was happy he finally got broken out of his stupor.
Broody characters are uninteresting to write and read about, a small, nagging voice in the back of his head whispered. He shrugged it off and smiled a little bit wider as a great crescendo rose up from the assembled group; the speaker's talk had come to its climax.

The fun did not last long, however, since the head of Mr. Big appeared once more. Jason frowned, but listened intently to what he had to say.

. . .

Jason blinked as the message ended. He was floored. Only three-hundred and fifty thousand? They had to steal some tech from a warehouse? With the Infinites there?! Granted, of course, the Infinites could hardly be called 'competent', but looking around, Jason could say the same about The Group That Was Formerly Known as the Orient, Minnesota Super Villain's Club. With a grimace and a little bit of apprehension, Jason stood up once Diet Cola had finished.
"Well," he began, "I've no love for the Infinites. Any chance to humiliate them is worth it- especially if it gets us three-hundred and fifty 'K." Jason paused for a beat, then continued. "Maybe this time they'll be the ones getting shot." With that, Jason ascended the stairs and thanked the kind woman graciously. Keeping the conversation brief, Jason stepped outside and stretched in the cool evening air.

It was a fine day to commit grand theft.

Jingling his keys on his finger, he unlocked the door to his car and hopped in. Making a point to lock the doors, he started up the car and waited.
It might be a while before anyone showed up, but there was no way Jason was letting anyone steal his car again.

Ed and Aesculapius
"Yeah! Pun-isher! you should give all of us a demonstration on this
newfound improvements you have made," shouted out Aesculapius.

When Jerry came in the room the twins had a small flashback to that time in the six years they were gone. A guy who had looked exactly like Jerry had walked into their hut; that's when all the craziness started. Ed thought that two Jerrys seemed a little suspicious. Aesculapius was too focused on the singing telegram thing. It reminded him of that ol' British sci-fi TV show from a while ago, Physician How.

Ed said to Calculator, "Sure. Sounds great. Let's go to the Infinite-horse.
Um. Infinite-Mobile. I didn't say anything about a horse..."

The two led the way through the Orient, Minnesota Town Hall room #1, Ed staring suspiciously at Jerry and Doc Hu.

"Um. How'bout you drive," Aesculapius told Calculator. "I don't remember how to."

Florida Man
Joshua James

This was a new experience. A giant floating head hologram was telling Joshua to go to a warehouse to steal technology. He was even being offered 459,348.75 dollars to do it. This was amazing. The most this Florida Man had ever gotten out of a heist was a burger and fries from a Wendy's. 459,348.75 dollars‽ That was more than he had ever made in a year back in Canada. Florida Man followed Dolor out of the basement, glancing back semi-suspiciously at Ulterior Motive Man. He started banging on the windows of Jason's car when he had locked the doors. It seemed that Jason was pretending to not hear Florida Man.

"AND WHEN I LOOKED, THE MOON HAD TURNED TO-"

There was a buzzing in Blimp Man's pack. Here we go again...

Hinshaw knew good and well not to answer his phone in the air, nor to get a typically expensive phone. His $99.99 mistake had already taken its toll. So, he cooled his shoulders and began the slow descent downward. He pulled out his $9.99 flip phone and began reading the blocky text. Good thing I don't have standards, eh?

I have need of your... abilities.

Well, thanks for the vote of confidence. You know, it would have been easier not to have the ellipsis, but he just had to put that in as an insult, eh?
Come to the address below.
All will be explained.
BIG MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

No thanks, I've got plenty.
And a chance to make the
Infinites look like fools!

A little late to the party for that. Besides, his style was more "teasing and heckling" than "I WILL HUMILIATE YOU, MY ARCHNEMESIS!"

Regardless, it was still something to do. He had acquired his meal for the day and earned a few dollars, so he still had hours to kill. He checked the address.

If Henry the Blimp-Man were to look up at the nearest street sign, he'd see that he wasn't anywhere near that address...

If Henry the Blimp-Man knew the street layout of Orient, Minnesota, he would, wouldn't he? But he didn't. The street layout of Orient, Minnesota is a very specific thing to know, especially for someone from out of town.

Regardless, Henry managed to find a friendly enough local and asked him for directions. "Ah, that? That's a warehouse on the other end of town! It's a big brown building. See, there's a bunch of roads that you need to pass through in order to get there..."

"In what general direction is it, and how far away is it as the crow flies?"

"Er, well, as the crow flies, it's about two miles, and it's that way, I believe."

"Thank you, good sir. I think I got it."

"But I haven't... [Blimp Man inflates his blimp] Oh. Okay, then. Well, best of luck on your travels, then."

"And to you, good sir!" His blimp fully inflated, he revved up his fan and began sailing off for adventure. It was only mildly faster than running, but it provided a great view, at least, back in Jefferson State. There wasn't much to see, though, in Orient, Minnesota, so he put his headphones on and continued singing. Ah, this was some Elvis Presley!

"Well, since my baby left me
Well, I've found a new place to dwell
Well, it's down at the end of Lonely Street
At Heartbreak Hotel!"

Sarah Osborne

Sarah had silently waited for the singer to finish, eyes remaining dazed as he left. That certainly.. Happened. And they were supposed to do what, exactly? Take high tech inventions to someone's warehouse or something? The guy hadn't even been there to tell them himself, and from what she heard, he was hurt or something?

Shrugging it off, Sarah cleared her throat.

"Well, I guess I'll tag along.. Take some notes.." She said, shuddering to think of her brief synopsis of the week prior. "Plus- I'm pretty sure they don't know you have me yet, could scope it out.."

Nikoli the Bear

Nikoli had been bored out of his mind. There was an American lady (probably another capitalist pig, this town had a lot of them, apparently) there to try to instill that thought in his head. Bah! He'd never let anything like that happen to him, a Russian could never cave to such a thing!

Then Mr. Big showed up as a hologram. Nikoli watched his whole speech unimpressed. He had absolutely no need for money, or anything, technically. His 'power' supplied him with the one thing he needed - bullets.

Nikoli spoke up afterwards, but not before yawning. "Nikoli will join you Americans, but I von't like it." He grumbled.

He threw himself off of the folding chair he'd been sitting in, leaning against it as he waited for the others to give the game-plan.

The Orient Legion Hall, rm. 2
Glitch

I'd just been about to snag a donut from Donut-Guy, because I was craving that sweet, glazed taste of a chocolate sprinkled donut with a jelly and half frosting filled goodness to it. The cat was still in my shanks from like last week and all, when Mr. Cat-Blaster shot at me on the roof? I think it's comfortably adjusted to livin' in my brown locks and all. It hasn't made any impression that it wants to go. But the kitty wasn't minding me. Anyway, apparently, Donut-Guy now can control his bodaciousness of dropping anvils, so like, he actually can aim or something. So as I heard him say that, I was like, "You know it, dude. I want to see how you can steer." Because, you know, if I'm going to be in a comic book one day, Donut-Guy is going to be making some guest appearances, for sure. And it would really help if he doesn't drop an anvil on my super car, like whenever I get one. That would not be a comic arc I'd really like to have to put up with, yuh know.

And I was just about to tell him all this, when some kind of off-key singer with a job offer showed up and started wailing. Dude, I couldn't bear it. My hands were pressed into my ears so tight that no WD-40 could pry them off. But I still heard it. I was trying to hang out in the corner as if that would keep me from the awful singing. But no go, yuh know. And as I was tryin' to just keep my ears from soakin' up much of that tune without becoming like critical mass, dude. And I was tryin' to think of other things, and I got to wondering when I had ever heard music that bad before. You know, besides your random every-day Justin Bieber song that comes on the radio an' all.

Then I had a flashback. And it went kind of like this...

Sometime in Glitch's late teenage years
A concert

The lanky, scraggly youth with a scraggly hair cut and about three long hairs coming off the side of his chin had just stepped in to the arena where the music was going to be. Shawn Glitzky had saved up all his money to get this and hear "The Geologists" live. They rock! The warm-up band came on the stage and the crowd gave a cheer. It was hot, loud, sweaty, and Shawn was lovin' every minute of it. The crowd pressed in. Some were dancing. Some were buying shirts with the main band's picture in the back. Shawn was just chillin' and headbanging, even though the warm-up band was playing a slow song. Didn't matter.

Then after the crowd was warmed up, the back-up band left, and the main attraction came on. "The Geologists" were a smoking band. Literally. The guy who played the odd percussion instruments like the rainstick suggested that everyone would love them more and more people would come to their shows if they lit themselves on fire and then played the show. So that was their gig. They'd been doing it for years. And that whole, self-conflagration mixed with their epic sounds made for a totally thrilling evening for Shawn. They had been right. More people did come to their shows, mostly local firemen and EMT's on duty.

And then. The band started having problems. No, not the typical kind of problems you'd expect from a band that torched themselves and then tried to play musical instruments and sing. That was goin' on as normal. The problem, was that all of a sudden, the songs weren't coming out right. They were missin' notes. More so than normal. And it was exactly the same note, no matter who was playing.

And that was when Shawn realized that he was the cause. He was causing the musical note "C" to malfunction. Now, any time the instruments would play a C, it would play an C#. Any time the lead singer or backup singers sang their lyrics and they came upon a C, the note automatically became a C#. Needless to say, it was an awful sound. The niche songs they had made that everyone had come to hear, sounded all messed up. The band was gettin' frustrated - and not only because of the heat. The crowd was booing. The band stopped playing but the crowd kept booing. Things weren't going well. Shawn saw a guy backstage wave the lead singer over, and then put a CD into a player. Ok, it didn't take a genius to figure out that the band was going to lip synch. Which was fortunate that it didn't take a genius, because Shawn was not and never would be. The guy backstage started playing their song, and the band acted as if they were playing. A lip synch show, but it was still the band doing it. But then. The same places in the songs on the CD, any time vocally or instrumentally, that the band hit a "C", it sounded like a C#. One of the band members had the idea to try just transposing the music up a half-step. So instead of songs in C, they'd now be in C#. And that was tough, but the band was talented enough to pull it off. Except this time, the C#'s malfunctioned and sounded like "D"s.

It was a nightmare. The crowd started getting violent and throwing things. Anything thrown at the band erupted in a fireball. But there were also things being thrown by people in the audience at each other. Rocks. Rotten tomatoes. A motorcycle. It was bad.

Shawn somehow found his way to the door, just as one of the band members tried to get some audience involvement by jumping into the crowd and body surfing. Yeah. That went over about as well as their music. The place was a riot scene when Glitch left, with people on fire, rocks making bruises and bonking heads, someone riding that motorcycle, the firemen shooting their extinguishers, the sprinkler system, and rotten tomatoes getting squished under trampling feet. Not a great night.

And little did Shawn realize, but right after he left, he unknowingly impaired the function of the door for any sane person left who simply wanted to leave. No. Sorry guy. Door's not working - and may not ever work again.

Shawn had not been back to any concert since. He didn't want a repeat. Plus, he didn't have the money.

The present

Shaking his head, Glitch came back to the present. So, like, they were now supposed to move some high-tech tech thingies to a high-tech tech place. Or something like that. And Sarah, that lady who was repping from the comic books, offered to check it out. Dude. She can't go! "Yeah, uh, comic book lady, if you go and some super bad villain guy like uses his gnarly powers against you, how are you ever going to tell the comic book company about me? I mean, about us? I think we all need to go together and fight whatever we need to fight as a team, and figure out some way to move these tech-thingies."

Mikael looked up, some of his pie remainng on his plate. "We're moving what? To where? High tech stuff? Neat. I'd like to look at that. But can I finish my pie before leaving?" he said, glancing at his kitten Cannon.

Suddenly, without warning, with plenty of warning, and hissing, the Kitty Cannon began smoking. Mikael sighed. "Hey, you guys happen to have any time-space vortexes? Plutonium? Nuclear Fission? No? Alright, I'll find something else to power my kitten Cannon."

He then proceeded to take an extension cord out of his pocket and plugged it into his cannon, and connected the other end to then earest infinite.

So....Fegelein was all about creating a world wide antic empire, but he was starting to question the reason why he picked Minnesota. I mean, perhaps partly because he was banned from almost all states because of his antics, and the only 2 states left were either Minnesota, or Michigan, and Michigan was scary (cause Detroit), he would've surely been shanked. In fact, why did he go to America at all?........screw it, starting it here.

Outside Jason Dolar's car
Diet Cola

Since no one else had claimed it, Diet Cola yelled out, "SHOTGUN! Dibs!" But it was going to be one heck of a ride out there. The shotgun shell holes from their last encounter trying to get those 50 cows had not been patched. The porous looking car with its thousands of extra holes through it was also lacking a rear passenger door. Thanks to the Commie Bear who had shot it off. He said it was on accident, but you never know. It was an American model, so he might have had a motive behind it...

Anyway, it was time to pile in. Diet Cola opened the door, a little gingerly for the fear that it too may join its rear compartment and blow off, and then sat down in the car, trying to get comfy adjusting to piles of shotgun shell bearings that still hadn't been cleaned out yet...

They were what? Delivering a bunch of thingymajigs? Oh yes, that was his type of job! Believe it or not, Matt excelled at this line of work. You know, moving things from point A to point B. One time he actually managed to get off the couch and hang his clothes up. So yeah, definitely cut out for this. There was also his time as a pizza delivery man but that was not to be mentioned. There are some doors best left closed and Matt didn't need his teammates to find out that he worked part-time as Fuzzy Bear, the local pizza chain's mascot. The boy shuddered at the thought.

"So, uh, we have any way of moving all that stuff? We could rent one of those moving vans but I really don't think they'd give us one. Not after last time..."

Hinshaw, en route to the warehouse, noticed an overly rambunctious car travelling in a similar direction. Driving is a much, much faster option than floating, so he maneuvered the blimp to intercept the car. Huh, there seems to be a number of holes in the car. The drivers are probably nutty enough to send the message I got.

He slowly descended as the car approached him, gripping the top of the car and immediately taking off towards his destination. It was an exhilarating experience... that is, until the balloons behind him began to produce an incredible amount of drag, pulling his arms away from his torso. Blimp Man found himself yelling his lungs out, kicking against the hood of the car with his feet, finding himself too weak to reel in his balloons but too stubborn to let go.

Captain Andorra

Chapter 2: Captain Andorra Returns
In light of a new plot, an old hero is needed. Captain Andorra! But is he skilled enough to fight off the Australian Menace from east? Find out in this exciting issue of Captain Andorra: The National Hero!

"Pretty good right? I wrote it myself." Captain Andorra said to Captain Calculator, showing him something that looked like a three-year had gotten his hands on a stapler, crayons, glitter glue, and a classic star wars film. "Maybe next issue, I 'll include you as my sidekick. Captain Andorra and Soccer Man save the world! Yes! I love it!' Then he wandered off to go drink lemonade and lecture Alcoholics. As he walked into the AA room, there was a collective groan. He'd been their before.

"Now,now group, let's let this local... costumed person talk. He seems to know a lot about ...uh... duty and vigilance. That's very important on the path to being sober." Cut in the head counselor. Cpt.Andorra nodded and began to speak. "I'm Captain Andorra, a local hero" He empathized the word "hero" for the benefit of the Head Counselor. "Hi Captain Andorra." "Today I have come to come to talk to about how corrupt the tax code is! And how vigilant I was in fighting it!" "Groan...."

The Orient, Minnesota Legion Hall, rm. #2
After the meeting
Coathangerman

When the PUN-isher had mentioned what had happened after their last time at the moving van place, it sent shudders up his spine. The day had started innocently enough. The sun was shining. Birds were chirping. And the Minnesota Infinites had gotten a hot tip that the owner of a moving truck rental agency was a serial jaywalker. Naturally, no one wanted to see this crime go unpunished. So, as a group, the Minnesota Infinites had hopped on over, in full regalia and costume, powers honed. And they had to wait about three hours for the place to open, but then, when it was open, they went to work! They found that moving van company owner, and put on a demonstration on the dangers of jaywalking. Even in Orient, whose traffic was slight and who had no idea of rush hour at all.

Here's how that demonstration went...

Coathangerman: "You!"

Owner: (Confused) "Are... are you wanting to rent a moving van?"

Coathangerman: "You vile criminal scum! You tried to get away with your crimes, but you were found out!"

Owner (looking worried) "I don't know what you're talking about." Other employees in the moving van rental company start looking over at the weird scene happening right before their eyes.

Coathangerman: "You thought you could hide, you serial jaywalker!"

Owner: ....

Coathangerman: "And to show you the devastation you are causing, you crime lord, we want to show you the carnage and the chaos you are causing!"

Owner: ....

At this, the Teetotaler leapt into action, with the help of Aero-Gal. The Teetotaler opened his thermos of iced tea, and shaped it using his tea manipulation power into a steering wheel. He held it in his hands, as if he was driving. Aero-Gal pretended to cross the road by... (dum dum dah - music plays in the background) JAYWALKING! The Teetotaler, not seeing her, backs up and runs into her. Normally, this would knock people down, but Aero-Gal, being who she is, simply flew up out of harm's way and accidentally bonked her head on the moving van company's roof.

Coathangerman: "See the wretchedness of your ways, foul miscreant! See the devastation brought about when citizens fail to use crosswalks. That car could have been one of your moving vans! That jaywalker could have been you! And you wouldn't be flying, you'd be hospitalized. Or at least extremely embarrassed.

Owner: ("I'm already kind of embarrassed by you guys being here. You're scaring customers off...")

Coathangerman: "What was that you said?

Owner: "Look, I'm trying to run a business here, and you're scaring off customers. And potential customers. No one wants to rent a moving van from a place where there are a bunch of freaks. So you guys need to leave, now, or I'm calling the police!"

Coathangerman: "You think the police will listen to the complaints of a serial jaywalker like you?"

Owner: (Dialing 911) "Hi, police? Yeah, I want to report a... disturbance. Right. Well, wait. Wait. I think they're leaving now. Thanks, I don't think they're going to be a problem anymore..."

Snapping back to the present, shaking off that memory of what he was figuring as an almost victory for the Infinites, Coathangerman said, "Yeah, you're right, PUN-isher. We need something else than the moving vans. Fortunately, I know a guy in my polka band that I play in, who drives a semi. He's back right now, and I bet I can talk him into helping us. Or loaning me his rig, either way will work." And with that, Coathangerman headed out to find his friend, and his wheels.

"Today I have come to come to talk to about how corrupt the tax code is! And how vigilant I was in fighting it!" "Groan...."

Captain Calculator looked in awe at the comic book written by Captain Andorra. Despite its less-than professional-quality, if the professionals have now taken a drastic step back in production effort and skill, it was very impressive to see one of the Minnesota Infinites featured in a comic book. One of these days, they all might be in a comic book together! And that's where the name-recognition starts coming in!

He said, "Ok, guys, let's hop in the Infinite-mobile and get to this place before anything important gets stolen. Like, our parking space..."

The Clockwork Circus - Welcome to a steampunk RP rife with crime, gangs, beggars, and starting off as the lowest of the low, in the lowest socio-economic place there is.

Ed and Aesculapius
"Yeah. Sounds great. I thought we already did. Hmm. Must be one of these darn paradoxes again." replied Aesculapius.

In the time away, they had encountered several paradoxes that had been overlooked by the writers. They also seemed to have lost something, whatever it was.
Anyway, the alcoholic's hair that had turned into a swarm of butterflies had flown away. They got caught up in a large gust, so they just went with the wind. The largest one, who had been self proclaimed as The Right Honorable, The Lord Purple Druuk d'Ouagadougou, even though these butterflies were not purple, flew toward the highway. All of the rest of them followed; mainly because The Right Honorable, The Lord Purple Druuk d'Ouagadougou fluttered his wings in such a was that they knew, "This way or you are food." The car had a guy hanging off of the side, but he wasn't important. These butterflies made it inside the car without that man noticing them. If the smallest one could speak, it would have said sarcastically, "Wow. A bear. So scary." But it couldn't speak and it didn't say this.

Florida Man
Joshua James

"Aaaauuugghh!" "Aaauauauauauauagghhhh!" Aaaaaaaaaaaaauugh!" Florida Man was hanging on to the door hole for dear life. He had missed it when Dolor wouldn't let him in, but that didn't matter now. His arms were getting tired. "Help me!" No one helped him. Suddenlyish the car started to levitate. Florida Man was still hanging on to the empty door, now with a much higher risk of death. He looked up. Was that? No. It couldn't be. Dolor's car seemed to be being stolen by a dirigible. "Nikoli! Is this your doing?"
He's banging two coconuts together!
Your sword is blowing glue! Let me try that again, your sword is glowing blue!
In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made many people very angry, and has widely been considered a bad move.
