To: The Socialist State of Hydrenia, and all other parties in the ongoing dispute and campaign over said nation.
Intent of Message: Condemnation
This message is scrutiny at any time to the Ketrilian Constitutional Powers, under document eight, page two, paragraph nine. All information within is in the public domain.

The Republic of Ketrily shall begin this message by condemning the actions of the various imperialistic parties who have crudely and foolishly attempted to subvert Hydrenia's decisions, of which it is entitled to make as it's own sovereign state. These attacks and threats will not assist in the resolution of any crisis or situation, only exacerbate it. This is why this house would concur with the expressed sentiments of the Beatles Loving Republic of Almaniania; a fellow member of the honourable Coalition of Sovereign Nations.

This house embraces the prospect of peace and prosperity, which can be achieved by all parties terminating hostilities, and attempting to resolve this situation diplomatically.

However, we must reserve some of our collective discontent for the Socialist State of Hydrenia; while this house recognizes your right of sovereignty, we also recognize the rights of people granted by the World Assembly; Under the establishing constitution, page nineteen, paragraph six, line four:

...in addition to these universal rights of man shall come the freedom to express and believe any political, religious, philosophical, or economic doctrine without reprisal from the respective nation-state or branches of said nation-state.

Although you are not a member of the World Assembly, and therefore not strictly bound by it's laws or ideology, the prolonged and prosperous existence of any state demands at least loose following of the most basic laws established by the honourable World Assembly. Outside of jurisdiction or laws, this nation must state it's additional discontent with a warning of the dangers of both socialism and authoritarianism; this nation has seen hundreds of states topple due to either of these ideologies being adopted, a combination of both is exclusively catastrophic in consequences.

For the sake of your Hydrenia's people, government, economy, and reputation; you must depart from this course lest you inflict upon yourself more suffering that shall be imaginable.

Regards,
Rachael Cooper - Head of Ketrilian Foreign Affairs.

Authorised by,
Peter Travis - Leader of State, Successor of the Great Condell, and Vanguard of the Ketrilian and Tisrocian Islands (Along with their numerous territories).

The nation of New Atlanticia can not condone the actions of a coup. We can however congratulate on the abolishment of a fanatical state. As a pro-private sector state, we would encourage that in the situation you find yourself in, that of recovery, remember that the people and government of a nation can only be as good as the Economy dictates.

What one may see as fascism, or fanatics, other's may see as normal

With that said, I hope the Directorate prosper.

Empress Tatiana,

The abhorent treatment of the religeon in Hydrenia is terrible, but it is not in other Goverments right or authority to dictate the policies of other nations. While the justification is a noble one now, it can be easily abused.

His Majesty's Most Noble Privy Council and Honourable Government

Office of the Prime Minister

To: The Socialist State of Hydrenia and concerned bodies
From: The Kingdom of Bardust

Once again, The Kingdom of Bardust must condemn the deposition of the royal family as the rightful rulers of Hydrenia and the prosecution of the religious community. It is the position of the Bardust to engage in military action if the following is not respected;
-The royal family will regain their rightful place
-The religious prisoners will be released
I trust you will make the right decision.

Signed,
The Rt. Hon. kieth Brown, Prime Minister

To all involved nations:

Amigard has been working toward the avoidance of war in this conflict, and has only declared such a state as a direct reaction to a declaration of war made by Hydrenia which any reasonable nation could see is a threat to Amigard's national security. Amigard's initial response to Hydrenia was one of condemnation but not war or threat of intervention against the Hydrenia people and thus we must reject the implication that Amigard has acted, in any way, as a bully or has attempted to force our ideology on another nation.

Amigard has simply stated that we will stand beside our oppressed Christian brothers and sisters in Hydrenia, and that violent actions taken against them will be seen as a violent action taken against Amigard itself. The simple act of keeping a close eye on a nation is hardly spying and the threat of inserting covert agents into Hydrenia was never made. We have also stated that we will not recognize the Hydrenia government as legitimate unless and until it returns the rights to citizenship and thus an opportunity to vote to all its citizens and recants the decree which outlaws the Christian faith, but we did not threaten to remove or otherwise interfere in the Hydrenia government despite our view that it is not a legitimate one. That is, until Hydrenia declared war on Amigard.

In the event military action becomes necessary Amigard will ensure that it will be done under the just war doctrine, will not target civilians, and will be conducted with reasonable force designed to remove the threat to Amigard national security. Amigard is not in the business of conquering nations and has no intent on such an action against Hydrenia. However we do recognize that situations do occur that require preemptive strikes against a hostile nation in order to ensure the safety and security of the Amigard people. That being said, violence of any kind is deemed by the Amigard government to be a last resort and if the situation can be resolved through diplomatic means the nation of Amigard is more than willing if not obligated to seek such means before any military action is taken. As such, Amigard will agree to participate in negotiations in any neutral territory that the nation of Hydrenia agrees to.

Sincerely,

Bishop John Gardner
Head of Amigard Foreign Affairs

A letter from Forest Gates, Director of Foreign Relations I.A.O.P.:

To all nations involved, I give you greetings from Lineale.

I apologize for the war which seems on the war of erupting, and although I searched daily, I cannot find an answer to it.

My President has given me temporarily leave to take direct control of the situation, as he knows that I understand his reasoning behind all actions taken thus far.

The war which is most likely soon at hand was brought to us by our great ally, who we have sworn to assist in time of war. We stand true to this promise, and Hydrenias declaration of war should not be tolerated.

I am not simply standing for Christians in persecution, but Lineale, in its history, has gone come into conflict many times to protect those whos rights where being taken away from them.

Even now, we act to protect our Brethren, but we would have done the same if they were Islamic nomads, Buddhist monks or Hindu kings.

Lineale does not wish to enter this war. War is not something which Lineale thrives upon, however, our people will support whatever action is chosen. I advise Hydrenia to restore the rights to ALL of the citizens effected, for although many of one group act, does not mean all should be convicted.

Just because many atheist Russians killed millions, does that mean that all of the Russian atheists should be killed?

Of course not.

Now we finally request that you remove this idiotic declaration of war against a nation who clearly has many allies, a more powerful government and a far superior sense of stability.

Signed,

Forest Gates,

Praying for peace throughout the world, and acting to keep his prayers in line.

These are no "innocent" men. The belief that they intend theocratic tyranny (which you apparently support them in said cause) is based upon their past actions. Even now, trials are in process for the guilty to be justly condemned for their role in the persecution of pagans and atheists, and the guilty will suffer their deserved fate.

As for the matter of peace talks, they would have been more likely had not Amigard indicated its intention to spy on us and Tryphalia continued rattling the saber. Tryphalia's war criminals will be dealt with soon, as will war criminals from any other aggressor state from your accursed coalition. We have allies, too, as you can see, and we will defend our sacred homeland with every last drop of our blood if and when attacked by your nation. If you invade our country, your blood will be on your own hands, along with the war guilt inherently incurred by all aggressors.

A message from the new Head of State, Prince Oribasius:

Postby Hydrenia » Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:24 am

Today, I return to my native country after only a short exile. However, let it be clear that my banishment has given me a fresh perspective on this future and destiny of this great nation. As I prepare to assume the mandate given me by the electorate, I seek to bring national unity, peace, and prosperity, instead of flawed policies that only antagonize foreign states and bring needless conflict to this world.

Effective immediately, I have ordered the Hydrenian Navy to resist the immediate threat posed by the Tryphalian Second Fleet and its ground and air forces. I have also ordered that the show trials of the former Hydrenian church officials cease. I have reason to believe that these men are guilty, but they still deserve due process of law, instead of kangaroo courts who only simulate fair and public trials. In the interests of national unity and avoidance of double jeopardy, I include even these criminals in the general amnesty that I proclaim throughout the nation.

This general amnesty also covers the members of the Directorate, the Hydrenian Reform Party, and Dr. Epimaenas, who waged a valiant, but futile electoral campaign for his cause. It includes the judges in the recent show trials as well. All prisoners arrested since the coup are to be released at once and allowed to return to their homes. All exiles are to have their citizenship restored.

While I detest the coercive efforts of certain nations to abuse international law and violate our national sovereignty, I also seek to remove their pretext for aggression. Accordingly, no religious sects shall be banned, anywhere in Hydrenia. There shall be complete freedom of worship for all faiths and all peoples in our country. As for church property, it shall be returned to the churches, minus any property they have themselves confiscated from pagan shrines, temples, and holy sites. Those shall also be returned to their rightful owners, the pagan institutions that I have mentioned.

The economic measures that have adopted shall be retained, except that full compensation shall be given to those who have lost their lands to expropriation. The charter system is hereby abolished and those who currently have title to their lands shall have it forever, free and clear of any rents or leases. They shall instead have full tenure of said land. Noble and peasant alike shall be free to own land and property.

Any businesses which have been nationalized shall remain so, but no new ones shall be seized during my reign. Full market value shall be reimbursed to all shareholders and proprietors, as is only proper in such cases. We shall no have further economic chaos in our country, and the rule of law shall continue to extend to the right to private property.

As for governmental matters, I henceforth dissolve the Directorate and appoint its members, along with several officials that I shall choose, to a new National Emergency Government to administer the affairs of state until further notice. This new Government will include Pagans, Atheists, and Christians in a truly unifying regime that can actually govern this country. The Presidium is also dissolved, as per my powers, to permit general elections for a new Presidium, which shall be freely elected with all parties free to participate.

I encourage all foreign states who have not declared war on us to send monitors and observers to determine the veracity and accuracy of these elections. I want no doubt that Hydrenia is moving forward from an absolute to a constitutional monarchy, albeit one with a strong and effective sovereign. I think that it is quite clear that this is the desire and intent of the People in regard to their government.

Now, with a firm purpose to achieve peace, prosperity, and justice for all of my people, I accept this mandate and assume the mantle of leadership for this great country. Let us all forget past incidents and injuries, and stand together for the greater good of our beloved Hydrenia.

May Divine Providence be with you,
HRH Prince Oribasius, by the Grace of the People, Head of State of Hydrenia

Tryphalian Navy ceases fire.

Postby Tryphalia » Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:42 am

In response to the accession of the new ruler, King Oribasius I, to the throne of Hydrenia and his recent declaration of policies, Tryphalia's Military Junta has ordered the Navy to cease fire and disengage from the enemy. The Junta has not yet disclosed or acknowledged any casualties on either side.

A proposal for a truce has been sent through the international press and wire services, so as to conclude this war once and for all.

Upon hearing this declaration, I, Forest Gates, call off any and all troops which where prepared for active duty.

Since Lineale nor Amigard has declared war on your nation, I find that we should be eligible to seek a presence to make sure that your nation does transfer this power rightfully.

We thank you for the responsibility and wisdom you have shown in this somewhat dangerous political move. Lineale now offers a hand of friendship, if it is at all possible, to your leader.

Our President has been currently engaged in several pressing matters, and so will not be able to come to your country until a further time. But until them, I wish to come myself to your nation for a short amount of time, and perhaps establish an embassy.

Would you comply, good sir?

Amigard applauds Hydrenia's change in policy and has determined that all of Amigard's demands have been met. Amigard forces will be recalled and no further action will be taken against the government of Hydrenia which Amigard will now recognize as legitimate. Pending the upcoming elections in Hydrenia the embargo enacted by Amigard will also be lifted.

Amigard will withdraw all military forces in the area and encourages its allies to do the same. Given Hydrenia's change in policy the Theocracy will no longer be able to recognize this conflict as a just war. Amigard will further encourage all other nations with military forces in the region to withdraw and cease any and all hostile actions against the Hydrenia government.

His Majesty's Government is willing to consider this, provided that full compensation is made to it for any damage incurred by the recent attacks on Tryphalia's part. This is a precondition for any negotiations, as your nation opened active hostilities and thus initiated the conflict. We acknowledge casualties in the form of 256 killed, 678 wounded/injured, and 1,497 homeless. It also claims damage to both public and private property to the amount of 2.3 million dinars.

Your election observers are permitted and your Foreign Minister is granted entry, as no state of war legally existed with your country. It should be noted, however, that some considerable animosity on the part of the masses is likely to persist for some time, and your embassy would be well advised to provide additional security to what is normally recommended, mostly in the form of plainclothes bodyguards, if you can afford this expense. Complete normalization will not happen overnight, due to the unpopularity of your country in Hydrenia.

Of course, this is entirely to be expected. But our President rarley carries a concealed weapon or has any bodygaurds, and so I will be content with a normal amount. It is not that we cannot afford it, it is to show a sign of trust between this new government and Lineale. I will have 5 guards, carrying minimal concealed weapons. 2 shall be in citizen clothing, however, and will serve as my aids.

Thank you. I hope to see you soon.

As much as the government of the DRTP wishes to aid the spread of both Socialism and Democracy, and as much as we support the overthrow of the monarchy, we must say that we are appalled by the manner in which the revolution was carried out. This man was not tried fairly, he was merely shot on the spot like a dog! Also we find one of your so-called "reforms extremely objectionable:

The Republic of Ferkas hereby condemns your actions. The banning of religous practices shows your nation to be a backwards one, and your actions against specific Christian churches is nothing short of a government sponsored hate crime. As a response the Congress of Ferkas has passed the following measures.

The Republic of Ferkas hereby condemns your actions. The banning of religous practices shows your nation to be a backwards one, and your actions against specific Christian churches is nothing short of a government sponsored hate crime. As a response the Congress of Ferkas has passed the following measures.

1.) No Person may travel from the Republic of Ferkas into your nation.

2.) It is hereby illegal for any Ferkian buisness, corporation, industry, LLC, etc, to establish trade relations with your nation.

The Dartak Empire will withdraw its forces from Hydrenia. However, General Patros requests diplomatic channels be opened with the new Hydrenia government to discuss the possiblity of cementing a more formal relationship between Dartak and Hydrenia to include possible trade agreements and mutual defense pacts to prevent future aggression and interference by international thugs.
