Jackson fidgets nervously. "He's definitely up to no good. Why else would he just sit out there like that? I think we all ought to be ready to fight, if we're able to, in case he's really an operator. By the way Wendy, if you dim the lights a little and shutter some curtains, I'll be able to drop this place into complete darkness, then I can give him a good few whacks with my staff when he walks in. Or we can just all try to blast him at once as soon as the door opens. Both seem like decent plays to me."

His eyes sparkle and he grins."OR, if you want to give him a nasty little surprise, I can cast a glamour that will make us look like we're in places other than where we really are in case he comes in shooting. Again, it's easier for me in lower light. However, if I cast a big glamour like that I won't have much energy left for combat spells. Also, it would make the magical presence even more painfully obvious. Your place, your call."

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small wooden rod with engraved metal ends that quickly lengthens and widens into a full-sized staff. He visibly calms when it is ready.

Lillie, who had been silently glancing around the room and drinking her coffee until now, was visibly startled as she saw a man who looked to be 18 (Jackson) pull out his staff. She immediately stops her music, removes her earbuds and looks around the shop. Turning to see the entrance, she saw someone smoking a cigarette (Rain) standing outside, waiting for something.

Her heart started beating faster. She watched him for a little longer, before deciding on a what to do.

'Why would he just be standing there? Is he an operator?' Lillie thought to herself. She decided not to use her telekinesis as to not expose herself as a Magical, and reached into her backpack. She brought out a long, thin case, and opened it, bringing out what looked to be a small black handle, which was actually and expandable baton. Putting her phone and earbuds in her pocket, she kept an eye on the operator outside the shop.

I thought we were suppose to be hiding our power, oh well Prime thought just waiting for them to finish there conversation. He kept an eye out on that guy who was outside, just smoking a cigarette. He had a killer look in his eyes, but he seemed quite cocky. But something seemed off, the aura he felt was similar, but he couldn't place from where. Where have I felt this before? Prime was snapped outta my thoughts when he heard Jackson's Idea.

His eyes seemed to be glimmering with the next idea."OR, if you want to give him a nasty little surprise, I can cast a glamour that will make us look like we're in places other than where we really are in case he comes in shooting. Again, it's easier for me in lower light. However, if I cast a big glamour like that I won't have much energy left for combat spells. Also, it would make the magical presence even more painfully obvious. Your place, your call."

Prime decided to finally speak up, "Well if were taking a vote, I would say the second idea, seems a little cocky, but entertaining, what about you guys?"

Wendy

"I, I... um... I think we should drop the room into darkness." Wendy, hopefully looking casual, walked across the room and closed some blinds, hopefully creating enough darkness for Jackson to do his thing.

"If he walks in, I'll start a spell, and the darkness would give me enough cover to finish before he finds us. Hopefully."

Wendy began searching through her playlist, looking for another song to go in conjunction with the one already being planned out.

"So when are we gonna start fighting"The guy sitting next to me looked at me "We're gonna wait right now so hold up." Damn it I'm seriously itching for a fight while I'm waiting I guess I could take a look at the USB stick Megan gave to me I took off my backpack and laid it on the counter.I took the USB stick out and plugged it in. Hmm she's been pretty busy this year The guy sitting next to me looked over, "Whats in USB stick?"I looked at him, "Music...why are you asking." "I was just wondering."I looked back to my screen and opened all the files.I felt something go across my eye and I closed my computer and put it away.

Using her telekinesis, Lillie got a box cutter from her bag.

Might become useful later on, who knows. she thought to herself, and decided to move to the counter.

Safety in numbers, after all.

Lillie moved next to where Jackson was, and kept her eye on the entrance. Once again using her magic, she extended her baton, and kept quiet, only watching the entrance incase Rain walked in. Taking a look at the people next to her, the shy girl didn't know what to say, and so tried to avoid eye contact. She continued to watch the entrance, while listening in on the conversation between the others.

Prime sat there waiting for the guy outside to walk in, then that girl, who had been sitting the entire time walked over and sat next to Jackson, she seemed shy and avoided eye contact with any of us, using telekinesis to expand a baton. She seemed to be figuring us out while staying quiet, I guess that's one thing we have in common he thought as Rain walked in. He kept an eye out but drank his coffee casually, waiting to see who would make the first move. The magicals... or the operator?

The Hunter and the Phoenix: PART 2
Age Piret
The Empty Quarter

Things had quickly gotten from bad to worse.
''Come on! This is the final battle ; I thought you could do better then this.'' Sera taunted as she punched Age into another sand dune. Age got back to his feet. This is bad... she's way stronger then me in my current state. But... but I can't end it here! She killed everyone! I'll make her pay! Age screamed in fury as a crimson red aura emerged around him extending right into the atmosphere. ''Oh, so you still have some fight in you. Too bad.'' Sera smirked. What wha- She held her hand up in the air, giving a smirk that screamed insanity. ''Death Thunder!'' She shouted, constant bolts of energy flew rapidly into the air. ''Perish!'' she said as the bolts flew down. I can't dodge them all... Unless... He stuck his hand out, and fired a large flame wave, engulfing the blasts.
Age fell to his knees, panting heavily.
Is it over?
A barrage of energy bullets from behind him answered his question.
''Yes! This is the perfect battle! Struggle for me, Age! I want you to live your last moments knowing that you couldn't defeat the most powerful! The most perfect! Being on this world!'' ''Are you insane?'' ''Stop mocking me.'' She smirked as she charged at Age, sending him flying into a rock. ''Now you know what happens when you defy a god! You receive divine retribution.'' Age reemerged, angrier then ever. ''Now. Stop resisting and merge with me already!''
''You.''
''Who killed all my friends.''
''Who destroyed my last hopes.''
''Who shattered the last chance of living normally on this planet.''
''Expect me to merge with you? You must be out of your damned mind.''
''How dare you insult a go-''
''Shut it. You... you scum! You piece of shit! I've had enough. This is where you die!''
''I've killed many like you.''
''Yes, but I'll be the last!'''
''And what do you mean by tha-''
Sera was interrupted by a punch to her jaw, sending her flying into the air. ''Wha-what?'' she shouted. Age then burst into the air, a flamelike aura exploding around him. He flew past Sera while still staying in her general direction. He then kicked her away, grabbed her foot and slammed her into the ground. ''This is it! I'll dismantle you!'' He backflipped a few times , and charged a one handed burst of flame. ''Brave....'''
he teleported right in front of her. ''HEAT!''
The flames travelled right out of his hand and point blanc onto Sera.
The... the nightmares over.
He walked away. Tears came out of his eye. He turned back to make sure she was dead.
And...
''How... how are you still alive!'' he shouted back. ''I turned you into dust!'' ''Yes... but as my design entails, I can survive any wound, no matter how serious! I can regenerate as well, thanks to your friends souls. Now... let me show you hell.''
She flew up into the air, stretching her hands out. A white dome surrounded her body. It then slowly dismantled, revealing her new form.
''Ha ha ha. HA HA HA.'' She laughed like a demon. A golden aura covered her entire body. ''My form is purity.''
''My form is divinity.''
''Praise me. Adore me. The most powerful... and the most noble god of them all.''
''Sera.''

Megan

Wait, what was that I felt a strong force coming from the direction of the cafe. Hmm I wonder if that's Ray... I continued walking down the dirt path I know he's lying to me.He didn't just want to see me...he wanted me to tell him more of his siblings. He never got the chance I stumbled upon a fork in the road. One path leading to the city and the other to the countryside.I started to walk in the direction of the countryside This is gonna be boring...I know I reached into my backpack and took out my laptop and the USB stick Ray gave to me. I plugged it in and opened all the files.I felt a flash on my eye. Well that's that I continued walking with the sound of blaring music playing around me.

The Apartment

Before Ryan went into the elevator, he pulled out his keys and unlocked the door to the elevator and walked in.
he pressed the button 4 and the elevator's doors closed.
"That was one drive, I don't think I'll drive my truck again."
*Ding!* The elevator's doors opened and Ryan walked out of the elevator.
"I am hungry. When I get in my apartment, i'm gonna make waffles."
As Ryan pulled out his keys he jingles them and puts them in the door.
*Click* His apartment door opens. Ryan walks in and checks his savings.
"GREAT! enough to by that new Ford 150!"
Ryan grabs 2 waffles and puts them in the old toaster.
"I'm glad the toaster of all things works" Ryan says with a smile.
Ryan sits on the couch and turns on the TV.
"Football? boring, i'd rather watch Baseball." *POP* The toaster is done cooking
"Well then. time to eat.' Ryan walks over and grabs the waffles, puts them on a plate and eats.
*eating sounds* That was good. Now to go to the Ford Dealership.
Ryan grabs his wallet and walks out of his door.

As the last of the cup's contents were emptied, Inien felt a bit sad. To be honest, that was the best coffee she had in the United States; the barista knew what he was doing, it just the right amount of bitterness. 'Five dollars well spent,' she declared to herself as she looked out the window. 'Now, on to more important matters.' In the few minutes, while she was happily drinking her coffee, a motley crew of Magical teenagers formed in order to fight a threat. That threat being a rather well-built man, waiting outside: lighting up a cigarette while leaking magical energy, menacingly. ' One of those people.'

'Cute,' Inien thought before standing up from her seat. An aura of power erupted from her body not unlike that of a bomb, encompassing the entire store.

ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ

Then, just as soon as the energy was released, it ended. This was the handiwork of a lifetime of studying and training, flashes of past experiences filled Inien's mind. A smile grew her face: she had declared a state of war. 'I knew something interesting was going to happen.'

Outside of Coffee and Clockwork
George apprehensively approached the Coffee shop in awe.

"Legends were true," he muttered to himself, giving some relief from the long bouts of quiet during walk to the shop.

"Wonder if they serve mocha." He snorts, before walking to the door, pushing it open and immediately feeling the tension in the room. He slightly regrets his decision to walk in at that time, before approaching the counter.

"Heyo. Can I get a mocha? Got any whipped cream?"

Wendy

Wendy stared in awe and shock at the newcomer who had just walked in. Like them, he was a magical. It was faint, but it was there.

"Are you stupid?" She hissed at him, "There's an Operator literally outside the front door."

Rain

I'm not sure if he's stupid, or a muggle. Probably both. Rain thought to himself about the guy that just walked into the building. They'll all be dead either way. He threw his cigarette down, and got his equipment out of his backpack. He put on his cloak first, before making sure he had his spare ammo, pistol, crossbow, quiver, and grenade. Last, he put on his familiar mask, and set down his backpack. All was ready. He walked across the street and faced the door. He pulled out his pistol, then, with a sudden burst of speed, he rushed across the street again, breaking through the door, and sending a massive wave of fire through the shop.

Back to Wendy

She glanced back at said front door, and saw only a wave of fire.

"GET DOWN!" She screamed, pulling Emisviel down with her. Fumbling with her phone, she started the song, and put her phone in her back pocket as the fire traveled over her and through the small shop.

Jackson is surprised and lightly scorched by the flame, but he is almost unharmed. Idiot he thought. Many magicals have fire abilities! We're harder to hurt that way. He yells out "Obscurum!" The lights are all hushed out instantly, as though the room was an elevator dropping into a mine-shaft.

Picking up his staff and staying quiet and low to the ground using the general chaos to cover any sound he does make, he slips around the side of the operator and readies his weapon. He swings it, aiming for the gun arm, and it bolts towards its target faster than one would believe possible- without magic of course.

I hope everyone jumps in pretty quickly!

Frustration filled Inien's mind, 'honestly, all that work and not even one good reaction.' It seemed that all the teenagers were too distracted by the surreal and idiotic entrance of a young, brown-haired man. Looking at the new arrival she grimaced. 'Asshole stole my thunder.'

Leaving aside her childish thoughts, Inien had already armed herself with 'Ye Guilty.' The Colt M1911A1 sat comfortable on her right hand. A smile returned to her face, life was made for fighting: It is in battle that one truly feels alive, for one can die at any second.

Seeing that the man outside was about to charge the door, fire magic in his hands, Inien kicked the table next to her. With the table on its sides, she quickly dived in -- using it as impromptu shield.

'And so it begins.'

George

George turns around in panic at the firewave.

"OH FU-!" He disappears in a flash, and reappears right outside the building in a panic, before bursting into a sprint, falling to the ground panting about 250 yards away.

"Jesus christ.." He mutters, "I just wanted a mocha."

He pulls himself behind a bush, taking a breather.

I look over to the door and I see a wave of fire coming across the shop What the hell! I had almost no time to react "IGNIS CLYPEUS!" A shield forms around the man next to me and the waitress protecting us from the fire. All of a sudden the cafe goes dark Was that him?Or someone in here. That doesn't matter someone's ass is about to kicked I took off my cloak and felt a surge of power start to flow near me.I could hear a song start playing in the background, "Let's do this."

Rain

Darkness falls, and Rain's pistol arm is hit by the flying boy, but he still held on to it. He grunts, and halfheartedly kicks toward the boy, before shooting at the woman behind the table. Luckily, the fires around the room produced by the fire wave gave off a semi-visible twilight. Just enough light to see the boy with the blue hair get ready for a fist fight. Still holding his pistol in one hand, Rain smiled at the boy, and launched a hurricane-force blast of wind at him.

Anastasia
Her Parent's House

Ana lived with her parents in a two story house between the city and the outskirts. It would be safe to say she was in the outskirts, actually. It was a school night for her, and she had a pile of homework. Being the B's and A's student her parents wanted her to be, she remained cooped up in her room for most of the day studying.

She was stuck on a particularly tricky math problem, one that she was determined to solve. Sadly for her, there were some alluring spell books in her backpack, one of which she hadn't read before. She tapped her pencil against her cheek as she glanced at the bag. Sighing, she walked over to it, taking out the newer book.

Technically she was still studying, right? These things were pretty hard to come by, this one she'd found somewhere in the woods when she was on a hike. It was written in Latin, although that was easily solved with a language changing spell. It was a temporary one, only lasted up to three hours at a time, and it only worked on books. She uttered it, watching as the letters morphed into the English alphabet.

Ana only got about a page in before she felt something, this particular something coming from a certain coffee shop. She got up, closing the book and setting it aside. She opened her window to look outside, and saw nothing as she poked her head out. There was, however, a faint glow in the distance. Fire? No, probably just some lights.. Either way, it couldn't hurt to check it out.

She climbed out of her window, which just so happened to be on the second story of the house. The drop was easily managed with some acrobatics involving a drainage gutter on the house. Once on the ground, Ana grabbed her bike that was leaning on the side of the fence, then began riding towards the light.

As she got closer, she started noticing this wasn't any ordinary light. It was definitely a fire now, she could tell by the way it was flickering and glowing. She pulled on the brakes, setting the bike down in a ditch nearby, then ran towards the building. As she went, she changed outfits. It was a brief transformation, one that required a homemade spell, there was a brief flash of light, and presto! She was wearing her usual incognito magician's costume. She pulled her wand out of her boot and ran towards the door.

This place was.. Familiar. There was something magic about it, she could feel it, not to mention she'd rode by it countless times over the years. How she never walked inside, she didn't know. But that was the past, now there seemed to be someone walking into the flaming place. She ran across the street, shouting to him, "Hey! It's not safe in there!"

How was she to know this man was likely about to attack her? At first glance, he just looked like a civilian, but up close was another story..

Ok, fine. New strategy. Well, since he thinks fire is so cute... Jackson conjures a bright orange flame, surrounds his staff with it, and swings it again, crossing again over the operator's firing arm but heading strait towards his neck and face. It accelerates towards its target.

"Isn't it nice that we offer such warm company, eh?"

The bullet missed Inien's head by a few inches, instead ricocheting off the the table and landing on her right foot. The pain was quick to spread to the rest of her body; she allowed herself one good scream.

"Fuck!!!!!"

The Operator, clad in a skeletal mask, was damn good: using both the idiot's surprise visit and the fire for distraction, he was able to enter the store unharmed. Inien had been too slow to react, and now she suffered the consequences. Their home field advantage had turned into a nightmare: Operators lived off melee, able to disarm physically weak Magicals easily. 'One more hit and I'll be down for the count,' she thought darkly to herself. 'Without my help, these kids are dead for sure.'

The situation looked hopeless, lady luck already prevented her death once and cats only have nine lives. Yet, instead of feeling despair, she was smiling maniacally. So what if God had dealt her a bad hand? She was Inien Aozaki, The Red of Osaka, and not even God will defeat and control her. She slammed the dial of her Rolex on the table, and a familiar sound played in her mind. Time itself had stop: everything aside from her looked like an elaborate prop.

Standing up, Inien could feel the pain coming from her right foot -- she ignored it. A few more steps and victory would be hers, the pain only grew stronger-- she ignored it. She had only ten seconds to execute her plan, perfectly. Or else it was game over.

Finally, she met face-to-face with her opponent -- frozen in time. The mask did not look so scary anymore. Inien shot the Operator's left and right foot. Time returned to its normal state, Ye Guilty was aimed firmly at the man's head.

"We still ain't equal."

Rain

Rain quickly raised his knife, but was too slow. The staff caught Rain right in the neck, causing him to lose his breath for a second.

"Too bad... I've got a cold heart." He coughs out, and was about to blast Jackson with his equivalent of a "Fus ro dah", when he felt a funny feeling. His eyes widened at what just happened; he got shot in both feet. He fell to his knees with a cry of pain, dropping his pistol and knife, and noticed the woman he shot at earlier was standing above him.

"We still ain't equal." She said, and Rain started to chuckle. He had already adapted his plan. His chuckle turned into a hysterical laugh, and he rolled over onto his back. In one hand, he held a grenade. In the other, a ring and pin.

"I know we're not equal." He said, "Now, unless you want this room and it's, oh, maybe seven inhabitants, including you, to be dead, I suggest you toss the gun outside. I don't think I have to tell you what happens if you don't. I doubt you could use your power again, but if you do, I daresay you're as good as dead. Make your choice, time's a wasting."

The Hunter and the Phoenix
Age Piret
The Empty Quarter
Battle Theme

This... this is unbelievable. I could never win in a million years against her... ''Well? Now you see divinity. Now stop being idiotic and let yourself be absorbed. It'll be easier that way.'' ''No. Never! I won't give up... Even if you absorb me... someone will continue my fight!'' ''Well, then I'll just have to beat you down until you give in.'' Sera rushed at him, slamming her fist into Age's chest, knocking him back a a few meters. ''This isn't where it ends.'' Age's body was bloody and his clothes were torn into shreds. ''There still is no way you can beat me. Even if your full power could miraculously end a god, you are completely exhausted. Do you understand? Surrender.''

''Even if I'm at the brink of death...'' Age smirked
''I won't die here...''
''Because I have hopes and dreams... and you will never rip them away from me!''
''God, would you stop it with the inspirational speeches, it's making me quite sick. I'll just finish you...'' She held up her hand. ''I think you don't know who you're dealing with here. Let me show you...'' A large fire ball appeared in her hand. ''Of course, you wouldn't think I didn't have Flame powers as well. Even if you are the so called Phoenix Reborn, I can easily crush you, with a finger. Divine Funeral!'' She fired the ball at Age, who was exhausted, laying on the ground. ''Oh... oh shi-'' Age quickly said before the flames hit him.
It was agony.
No- it was absolute pain... he had never felt this much pain in his entire life.
So... how is it that I'm still alive? he thought, gripping the dust below him. Tears started falling out of his eyes... If only I was stronger... if only... ''Oh, look at that. I've beaten your body, I've broken your spirit. You're even crying for god's sake. You must now understand the pinnacle of my perfection. Time to end it.'' She placed one finger on his arm. ''Let's start with this arm first, shall we?'' Age didn't know what she was doing, but he felt his left arm getting weaker. He turned his head around...
''Wha-what are you doing?!'' he shouted at Sera. ''This is the end. I'm absorbing you one by one... I want you to feel true agony before you die. A few seconds later, she was done the arm. What had once been a healthy, whitish arm had turned into a pale gray and had shriveled up. ''Oh... oh god... It's terrible... it's absolutely terrible...'' He coughed ''The other arm now.''
If only I had been stronger.
If only I had the power to beat her...
If... if...
Not if... I do! I feel it...
Think, Age. Remember all your friends she killed. Now make that your power.

''Oh, adorable! They were wondering why you let them be absorbed by me. All your friends are surprised at how weak and pathetic you are!''
''You... bastard...''
''You... disgusting. Miserable. Horrific... piece of shit!''
''I won't let you live for a second longer!''
A incredible whitish grey aura began to surround Age, as his power sky rocketed. ''So you still have some fight left in you, but is it enou-'' Age's left arm had completely reformed back into its normal shape. There were now two wings protruding out of his back. ''A Phoenix is born from the flames of a gone phoenix. They grow up, they become powerful, and then they die, but they are reborn. That is the tale of the Phoenix!'' His power had sky rocketed. ''I'm going to finish you in exactly a minute. Say your prayers.''
Age disappeared for a milisecond, then reappeared. ''Ciao.'' He said quietly before punching her in the jaw, sending her flying. ''What is a human to a god?'' Sera spat out. ''What is a god to a non believer? God Breaker!'' He put up his palms. ''See you.'' He then fired constant flame bullets. After Sera fell back to the ground, Age said a few words. ''You have ten seconds left. Last words?'' ''Fuck yo-'' ''And your time is up! Remember, you brought this on yourself.'' He put his hand to her head. ''Let's see you regenerate without your nuclei! Bang.'' He fired a small flame bullet from two of his fingers.
''What dirty fireworks...''

Coffee and Clockworks shop.

He woke up from his sleep after remembering that battle. God, it was a hard one. For some reason, all the lights were off.
He rubbed his eyes groggily. ''What the hell is going on...''
