You're right. In my defense, movies older than my grandparents aren't really my thing. :>Cannot think of a name wrote:Oh...you were being highly specific when no one else was.
"A car is fast when it is fast everywhere" is highly specific but "a car is fast if it can achieve a rapid acceleration from a complete stop to a set speed, and no other factor is relevant" is not, huh?
Licana wrote:Cannot think of a name wrote:Yeah, still pretty fucking pointless. "LOL the Tesla isn't a sports car" doesn't really support your initial premise.
Of course it does. Since the full extent of my initial premise was "the Tesla is not fast" it's weight is highly relevant since it's arguably the biggest factor as to why it isn't fast.
Licana wrote:
To cut off the incoming "but your fast isn't my fast" argument; simply put, the only way one could ever call the Tesla a fast car is the have some inanely limited definition of "fast" as it relates to cars. I, personally, doubt I will ever subscribe to that kind of thinking.

How many of them recognized the Porsche as a Porsche? :>

Also, the Lincoln Town Car
and Toyota Land Cruiser also do that, and they are actually good cars to boot.

It's a full time career. One that you quite clearly shareCannot think of a name wrote:Your initial premise was that a bunch of people most of whom could not if they wanted to should not buy a Tesla because it is crap.
You can feel free to point me to where I made this statement (or even implied it) in this discussion. I mean, you'll probably fail, considering that every single post I've made regarding the Tesla Model S today has been related to it being "fast" and I've said nothing about whether anyone should or should not buy a Tesla. In fact, I haven't even called the Tesla crap, I've simply said it wasn't fast.Cannot think of a name wrote:Then you decided that in a very specific context a luxury sedan wasn't fast. You're right, it is still there for everyone to see. Which is why I'm flabbergasted that you are pretending that I've said something I haven't.

Yes, the car that is not fast was not built to be fast.Cannot think of a name wrote:But you did say that being obtuse was your career, so your guidance counselor should be commended. I mean, no one tracks a Tesla except on a lark and that was by no means it's primary design feature, but yes.
Right, because they're not fast.Cannot think of a name wrote:Let's keep comparing it to track day cars like it's a relevant comparison.
I mean, I made one comparison as a joke and it was to an Ecoboost Mustang. I suppose it's more of a track day car than a Tesla.

- Ford Expedition EL XLT.
Which one would you buy? I'd choose the Suburban.
