My condolences to the fans of San Diego, as well as the fans of LA, who have made it clear they do not want the team.

On the bright side, this should stop half the league's franchises from threatening to move to LA. It happened to the Vikings a while back.

Well, the Raiders won't go to LA. More like Vegas.

It really has nothing nice or identifiable about it. It looks too close to the Dallas logo.

It honestly looks like the Tampa Bay Lightning logo and the LA Dodgers logo had a child, which is basically what that Lightning tweet was hinting at, I think.

At least that will be one less team in California. I feel like they have more teams than they can handle over there.
NFL: 49ers, Raiders, Chargers, Rams.
MLB: Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Angels, A's.
NBA: Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Kings.

Plus don't forget all the athletics at USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, and smaller schools.

I know there's a lot of people in Cali, but that seems like overkill to me.

So, not only is my teams new fuckwit of a coach not saying anything about bringing back Wade, he's making the QB position an open competition. I hate this guy already.

While it does seem like a lot of teams, it makes sense. California is our most populous state, home to 3 of our 10 largest cities and our largest economy. There's a giant sports market out there.

How many professional sports teams does Virginia have? Absolutely none. No one cares about them for some reason.

That's a good point. I always just thought they rooted for the DC teams. While we're on the subject, this is relevant:

Norfolk was the site for several proposals, but none made it. The Norfolk-Virginia Beach area is pretty large.

I'm still waiting for a pro franchise in Kentucky. How the holy Hell did Tennessee get one before us? It baffles me to this day. Give us one of the ones in Florida. No one like them anyway.

I don't live far from there. We go down to the Norva a couple times a year for a good show, great sound system. I doubt the area could support a major league team. The Orioles AAA team is located there though.

Or surfing and getting water shortages. If you want droughts but no surfing, head to Arizona! Even Arizona has all four professional teams.

Nobody at this point in time gives one shit about the Chargers. They have alienated their fan base completely. Plus they are moving within the state to an area that isn't easily impressed.

Look at a map OS. Norfolk is almost inaccessible for most of those people. The place is surrounded by water on the north and east and to the south is Carolina swampland. To the west is a huge rural area. Most of those Virginians live a couple hundred miles away in Northern VA and they are DC sports fans. Norfolk population is 246,000.

That only leaves Richmond and Arlington but Richmond isn't large enough and Arlington is close to D.C. they'd root for D.C. teams, anyway.

Yep. Don't get me wrong, I love Norfolk. It's a gem. But it just isn't ready yet. OTOH anybody got some love for Portland Oregon?

Sure it's a gigantic market, but LA only roots only if there's a winner. USC's attendance suffered for many years before Pete Carroll took over; back in those days LAMC only had half the seats filled!

Unless Chargers become contenders, this is not going to go well for Chargers.

They have to share a city with the Rams, instead of dominating the San Diego market 100%.

Yeah. City the size of Baltimore and growing. About midway between SF and Seattle too. The USFL had the Breakers there in their third and final season. Great logo, lousy team.
