Many people only pretend to believe in it as a joke, because that's the Internet for you. Those who do actually believe it...I don't know. They probably think "everything you know is wrong and the government covers it up so people won't cause a commotion" or something like that. I don't know really. I'd say they're unbased though.

Why do you think people who believe in a Flat Earth consider the idea to be credible? (What could've created a mistrust/ disconnect between them and the organizations they discredit?) I kind of elaborated on that 2 questions before. I guess they're just really skeptical of things, even things that are commonly accepted.

EDIT: Actually, he wasn't the only Greek who did. Whoops. Pythagoras, Aristotle, and Plato all believed in a spherical Earth. Eratosthenes measured the circumference though.

Recently, I've been hearing a lot about the Flat Earth community between the channels I browse on Youtube. So, I feel like NationStates should have some interesting opinions. Keep it civil, please! I'm here to hear people's opinions out.

A few questions-

-Do you believe the Earth is flat?
If so, what is your evidence that it is? Please provide unbiased sources.

1. No, I do not. There's enough evidence out there, like photos and satellite footage, of the earth being round.

2. I think that anyone who, in this day and age, still believes in the earth being flat, is a sovereign moron. There's no other way to put it.

Well, I think the flat Earthers believe that Antarctica surrounds the edges, while the North Pole is the centre.

But as an actual belief? Nonsense. One can debunk Flat Earth with research of their own. Further scientific evidence is just greater proof that the Earth is round.
