So, how do I put this?

First off, sorry I walked out on you guys. I checked my posts, and apparently, the last time I posted here was a month ago, and the last time I posted in the IC was before the IRL election. Not gonna lie, I was kinda surprised by how long I skipped out on this, which probably says something about me not realising the magnitude of my irresponsibility. Back to the point, I really have no excuse for ditching other than 'I'm an asshole and have no sense of commitment nor responsibility.'

So for that, I want to apologise:

Image

Fair warning: It may come across as silly, and I may or may not have wanted to specifically use this picture for no other reason than the fact that I wanted to find another use for this.

Seriously though, I have been wanting to get back into this for as long as I can, but I couldn't, for a few reasons. Initially, the RP was moving at a rather rapid pace, which is completely fine and is a sign that an RP is healthy. Problem was that taking a break for just a few days could mean tens of pages of me to read through, of which I don't have the time nor the attention span to read through. It became hard to keep track of who the new characters were, what new incident happened, which in turn, made it more difficult to write Kirk/Shapiro posts or just posts in general.

And that was when the second reason for me not getting back into this RP kicked in. In the middle of this month-long break, a realisation struck me: Burnouts like these are becoming increasingly common, so it was possible that I was losing interest. That exact thought bounced in my head for a while, before I finally put it to rest by assuring myself that if I just took a break, that passion would return, and I would be active in this RP once more. Turns out that wasn't the case. This 'burnout' was the longest I had, and the thought that I had lost any interest in this RP kept on returning. For each and every day, the more I clicked on 'View My Posts' and saw this thread growing in page number, the more I felt like this was becoming more and more of a burden for me to go through.

And as days passed, I contemplated writing about me leaving this RP, especially since my name was on the character roster. Hence, the existence of this post.

As for where I'll go from here, I've already decided that. I think the best way to put it is that I'll be leaving, but I might come back if I feel like it or may post in the OOC every once in a while. As for Kirk and Shapiro, my request is that I do have those characters removed from the roster, but I keep them. I have no other reason for doing so other than I've always had fun writing their posts, even if it is a little tedious at times. If I do return, I'll be returning as either one of them.

Don't get me wrong though. It's been great seeing this RP progress from its first iteration as a small group to something this large, and I'm happy to be a member since then and be a part of this till here. It's just that I've finally lost interest in this.

So, that's pretty much it. Not sure what the response to this is gonna be, but hopefully you can understand.

Sorry for leaving you for a month. I've decided that I'm leaving this RP (but may return someday). Gonna be keeping Kirk and Shapiro because I'm a selfish asshole who doesn't like to share.

As somebody who has come and gone a couple of times already, some to just take a step back and others due to serious real life emergencies, don't worry about it at all. This is just a game, it's meant for our entertainment and nothing more.

If you ever decide to try to come back, we'll be more than happy to help you with getting up to speed on things.

I think I may make a Democratic challenger to Gonzalez, if no one else does.

I think congress really needs to pass TARP 2.0 to buy the toxic assets at a huge discount from the Japanese investment firm right now.
