R-68 is light and compact gas-operated self-loading assault rifle manufactured by Radetzky Arsenal, the main Radimotsanian firearms manufacturer. The rifle is used by all branches of Radimostanian Military as SP68V1. The weapon fires 6.8 mm Remington Special Purpose Cartridge, midway between 5.56 and 7.62 cartridges, due to this fact R-68 has effective range 500+ m with a short barrel (380 mm). Development started in 2010 when Radimostanian Military wanted to replace old M16A2 by more compact and modern weapon. In 2012 Radetzky Arsenal manufactured two prototypes: Object 65 and Object 68, both weapons were Bullpup rifles with 410 mm long barrel. Object 65 used 6.5 mm Grendel cartridge, Radetzky Arsenal uses this cartridge for a lot of civilian and hunting rifles, Object 68 used 6.8mm Remington cartridge.
In 9/9 2012 both weapons were presented to Radimostanian Military Rifle Commission, the commission found Object 65 superior but they wanted non-bullpup. In 2013 weapon was reworked to contemporary Rifle with 380 mm barrel. The new barrel was too short to fire 6.5 mm Grendel cartridge, so 6.8 SPC was selected instead. This weapon, known as Object 68A , was very similar to current R-68 but it had faster fire rate that caused jamming of the weapon due to small parts that were used for the firing mechanism. Parts were changed by more reliable counterparts, unfortunately, this leads to somewhat low fire rate compared to other modern day rifles.
The rifle is fully water and sand resistant. It is compatible with the M203 under-barrel grenade launcher and has two fire modes, Semi-Auto and Full-Auto. The main advantage of this weapon is the completely ambidextrous design, all the critical controls on it may be operated right- or left-handed. These include the 2-position safety, the magazine release, the bolt release and charging handle and the case-ejection selector, which determines whether spent brass is ejected to the right or left. The lightweight technopolymer receiver allows for reliable operation with virtually no lubricants. To make maintenance easy and trouble-free, this rifle has no pins and can be completely disassembled in a matter of seconds with no tools at all.

R-68C
This is the shorter (barrel length: 288mm, total length: 712mm) version of R-68, compared to original rifle it has smaller penetration effect and short under-barrel rail (so it is unable to be equiped with heavy accesories like M203 grenadelaucher).
