Croce was one of the most vigorous defenders of liberalism in Europe and helped overthrow the Fascist government to found a liberal democratic one. He is more than a little relevant when it comes to liberalism, especially when there are totalitarians trying to claim the mantle.

I don't think Mishima was particularly esoteric, certainly not to the extent of being a walking joke. He wasn't a particularly serious ideologue like Kita Ikki or a philosopher, he was mostly remembered as a nationalist author obsessed with the Bushido who launched a coup to restore Japanese emperor, only to fail and ended himself in a botched suicide.

The Dharmic religions weren't "revealed". Neither did traditional Chinese worship, or the Shinto for that matter. Would Mesoamerican religions count as a "great ancient religion", too? It's quite difficult to view it being derived from the common root with, say, Islam or Buddhism, unless by common root you're thinking of primitive animism, rudimentary respect of the dead, a teleological perception of the world...that's it. That's the great ancient wisdom for you.

Christianity believes Jesus to be the son of God, Islam believes him to just be a prophet. Advaita Vedantists believes in a world soul with different gods being expressions of this eternal self, while Buddhism denies the existence of an eternal soul with it's principle of anatta. The Abrahamic religions believe that One God created the world, Shinto is mainly an evolution of ancient shamanistic faiths which involve different spirits playing parts creating the universe.

In other words, any attempt to reconcile these religions is impossible.
