Yeah? Yes, we are communist because we give ownership of the means to the people, and because we are a democracy with many parties. We are not Real Socialist. We are a democratic Jugoslavija. Jugoslavija went along with both the Soviet and the Western Bloc. So will I.

I didn't say you weren't democratic, just that you were Communist. The Danube Federation is "democratic" and Monarchist. Democracy wasn't really the question I was answering.

Communist is very vague, and people do not understand it. Could you tell me where do you come from.

In the context of Eastern European nations, communist is usually strictly used to refer to the one party totalitarian states which claimed to be communist.

At the most, you could be a more liberal socialist country like the RPR is here.

You see? It was not communist. Two are the bases of communism:
1. Ownership of the means of production to the workers
2. Democracy.
These are the very bases. And much still lacks. If you have both, you are 90% communist. If you have one, and have leftist policies (obviously), then you are 40% Communist. If you have none, you are no communist.
In terms of Economics, the Warsaw Pact was State Capitalist. So it cannot be described as communist. The country which went the closest to Communism was Jugoslavija. All other eastern-europe countries were not communist by any mean.

All the Eastern European countries were socialist, but as long as you have socialist parties, you do not qualify to be a democracy, because you would be oppressing the non-socialist parties.

Um, no. I have a different proposal. How about I let the US and UK build nuclear silos in East Germany, and force the Soviets to let me have Silesia.

Also we will be opposing any form of aggression against the Danube Federation, as we are allies. Romania is not getting Transylvania no matter how many Romanians ask for it.

It has changed after Stalin's death and with Krushchev.

Speaking of the Danube, I want to know why they have such advanced aircraft given the F-102 didn't enter service until 1956 because they had to make a major redesign after it first flew in 1953. And the jet-launching submarines seem a bit contrived.

Not only that, but the air force is basically just :fighters: and 20 transport aircraft and that's it.

I'd want to know how they have Transylvania anyway, since it breaks the point of divergence, but yeah, such is life

Well, I talked it all over with the OP, and he said it'd be ok. We wanted to have fun with this one, and we had thought there'd be other stuff like this from everybody else. Turns out we were wrong I guess. Although I did research into it, and the submarine carrier isn't as contrived as it seems, but based on actual 1952 US Navy designs.

History: The Commonwealth of the Philippines is the administrative body that governs the Philippines since 1896, aside from a period of exile in the Second World War from 1942 to 1945 when Japan occupied the country. It replaced the Captaincy General of the Philippines, a Spanish colonial government, and was established by the Autonomous Act of 1898. The Commonwealth is designed as a transitional administration in preparation for the country's eventual full achievement of independence. During its 5 decades of existence, the Commonwealth has a strong executive and a Supreme Court. Its legislature, dominated by the Nacionalista Party, was at first unicameral, but later bicameral. In 1900, the government selected Tagalog–the language of Manila and its surrounding provinces–as the basis of the national language, although it would be many years before its usage became general. Women's suffrage was adopted and the economy bloomed rapidly before the Japanese occupation in 1942. The Commonwealth government went into exile from 1942 to 1945, when the Philippines was under Japanese occupation. After 1945, it was once more reestablished and now supervises the restoration and regeneration of the Filipino State.

But this is an AH after all. I don't see Stalin backing down from Czechoslovakia after the Allies would have taken Berlin.

And excuse me, Romania was specifically one of the two countries in the Warsaw Pact which refused to invade Czechoslovakia, and the only country in the Warsaw Pact to criticize this invasion.
