[OOC] URSA Sevens

Welcome to URSA Sevens!


The URSA Sevens will be a Rugby Sevens tournament held this season in Soria, Lisander capital city, as part of an effort to bring Lisander, a nation in love with Rugby, to highest international levels. It will be hosted by Lisander, and its matches will be played in St. Helens Park. The tournament is, de facto,held by the URSA (Soria and Azhaar Rugby Union, portuguese acronym).

The URSA (União de Rugby de Soria e Azhaar) was founded in 1904, and is the oldest of the local Unions in Lisanderian rugby. It's local team, the Roses XV (currently playing only commemorative matches because of professional league), won 43 of the 70 editions of Lisander Unions Cup, between 1921 and 1990.


Although not a tournament sanctioned by NSRB, the most recent rankings will be followed for organizational purposes.

We expect a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 24 signups. Puppets must be confirmed at signup time. Fail to comply this rule will cause exclusion of both primary and puppet of the competition. Puppets can be removed, giving place for a ranked nation.

I'm following the NSRB calendar this time. The next RWC (after Crap Rugby Rugby League World Cup) is the Rugby Sevens One. But I'm also hoping a season of Tests in XV after the next RWC.
