Pretoria, Gueteng, The Traansval
The Leader of The Traansval and her Boer people, stood looking out his window at the City streets below him. He watched as Horses pulled carts along the streets, while in the background a Steam Train arrived at the station, dropping off goods and supplies to the Platform. The contrast was amusing for the leader, giant steam machines dropping off supplies which are then transported on wooden wagons pulled by a horse or mule.
I must tell Doctor Octavian to research a steam vehicle that could travel in the streets. he said to himself as a passing idea.
The doors to his office opened, admitting the Chancellor of Domestic Affairs. The Office of National Affairs is the eyes and ears of the entire nation, a secret intelligence agency hidden behind the facade of a bureaucratic and diplomatic department. Well it wasnt actually a facade, the ONA and the Diplomatic Corps were the two main Diplomatic Agencies of The Traansval, with the ONA acting for as to provide information to the leader, and the Diplomatic Corps acting representatives of The Traansval to foreign nations.
Chancellor Kronger: Sir, word is there going to be a ball held on the main land.
Mark Kruger:A ball? Kronger, why would you bother me with such silliness of a ball..
Chancellor Kronger:Well sir, the Traansval is still fairly new to the world stage, this ball could help us improve our international image, and perhaps help us gain allies or trade partners.
Mark Kruger: Yes yes, i see your point. Well, if this really is a gathering of International Leaders, i supposed i should go. Gather up the Republican Guard, we shall board the next steamer.
