The Rio games keep getting worse and worse. It's going to be as worse as Munich 1972 or 1980 Moscow.

Basically, because the swim events are in the ocean, the swimmers will swim in what is basically raw sewage. While olympians from the third world may have the immune system to fend off viruses from the ocean, swimmers from say, the US, will not. Furthermore, the amount of sewage is 1.7 million times what is considered safe in the developed world.
Antibiotics will not work for the athletes, as they cannot combat these viruses. Swimmers can either hope for the best or hope their immune system is made of fucking iron.
shitty events

What evidence do you have that Russia is being singled out for punishment by WADA and that other nations are being allowed to get away with operating similar large scale state-sponsored doping programs?

Certainly every Olympics. The IOC is incredibly corrupt.
And you don't even need to talk about FIFA. We all know Qatar 2022 is going to be virtually impossible to pull off with all the worker exploitation allegations, insane 50+ degree heat in the summer, overly ambitious plans when the prices are down and the accompanying corruption.

Now, now... let's be fair. The World Cup has already been moved to winter, and the summer temperature in Gulf cities never ever breaks 49 degrees anyway.
As I know from discussing this directly with someone who received one of these phone calls in Abu Dhabi, if a newspaper reports that the national weather office is reporting temperatures above 50, the reporter in question receives a telephone call explaining that the weather office made a 'mistake', and if they care to try again, they'll find out that the 'correct' forecast high is 49. After all, if the temperature hit 50, local labour laws would require sending the labourers home all for their own health and safety, and since it's only 49 they instead get a 2-hour heat break in the middle of the day.
The real reason Qatar will do a terrible job - and I write this as someone who's actually worked in the country - is chronic inability to complete major infrastructure projects safely and on-time, a lack of detailed thinking about the implications of local alcohol laws for the tournament, and the absolute dismal scenery of a country that's an unremittingly dull flat sandy plain - there is simply nothing for anyone to do in Qatar that can't be exhausted in a single afternoon.
Rio, though... Rio I'm looking forward to, just like I look forward to all Olympics. It might be a triumph of hopeful optimism over reality, but there you go.

. While I always enjoy the opening and closing ceremonies, doesn't seem like I've missed much. Haven't had it since we got rid of TV (Overpriced for 90% garbage, so why waste the money?)

They don't even have security now, if it hasn't been mentioned yet.
But at least they have the police, right?
