What if I promised you that it would be poignant, touch upon our first posts to each other in PL, tie in to the god war, and give you a chance to establish that this isn't the same Neil once your character woke up (and gives me a chance to establish that it isn't the same Charu)? I've toyed with a few ideas and have a mock-up post done (missing the middle because my brain fizzled). Wanna see, oh glorious raptor with claws so bright?

Cer's been harping on me to use Charu to establish in the "Agents" IC. :p

Sure, I'll take a look at it. I've been brainstorming some rough set-ups.

EDIT: Also, article mentions that the Philippines may have merely been a stopover for ancient mariners, and given the language spread appears to have begun on the Asian mainland and then traveled to the Philippines via Taiwan, it's possible Filipinos and Polynesians are both descendants of Asia.

Polynasian based upon chickens.

Sometimes words fail. She drives me batshit. "[Famous person] is not Asian" - yes, he is. So here's a test for our players - Name that ethnicity or country of origin! The one that gets the most answers right -- your character will be gifted a potent item. :p

She did not win a prize though she got her own ethnic group right. I was impressed. I would have slapped in some pictures of Storm and Agy, but I don't have any. Ditto for Min. Veterans would know Tilt by the laundry bag on his head. :p Hint: Not all are images are of Asians.

Being fair, I have a difficult time picking out Europeans. Swith gets them right consistently, especially Mediterraneans. "Oh, he's French. Oh, he's Italian. Yeah, that's German, maybe. That guy's Greek." I wonder if Westerners, due to their familiarity with various cultures and their own heritage, find identification of Asians as difficult as my attempts to identify your own cultures, ethnicity and backgrounds.

The world is beautiful. The diversity makes it so.

PS. No fair doing a Google image search.

Will post well after sunrise; you deserve better than half-asleep up-18-hr posts. Drag chars if necessary, night!
Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.

PERSONIFICATION LIFE
CHARACTER APPLICATION

PLAYER INFORMATION
NS nation nickname: Civet (fine... "Min")

Skill Level: Advanced

How often can you post?: Every other or every 2 days, depending on schedule. Slow poster.

CHARACTER PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Character Name: Oecammi Ret Ata-EE (Oecammi will suffice)

Character Gender: Null-gender, but commonly categorized as female.

Species: Tzenkethi

Age: 4 Cycles, equivalent to late 20s/early 30s.

Appearance: Oecammi is a tall and lithe alien who is genetically modified with shifting, wavy, colors as it's most noticeable feature like many of her kin. Oecammi's "hair" are tinsel-like strands, metallic in hue and sheen that change shades of green and blue. Her outfit is part her body and likewise shifts in varying shades of the blue spectrum. She has elongated solid gold eyes (akin to cats) with noticeable flecks of tiny black square blocks in a circular pattern to resemble irises. Her natural "skin" color mixes with her outfit, although her face is kept a mute, very light, green to help foster better communication with others. Oecammi is very tall for a 'female', standing at 6'2", albeit an imperfect height among her people. She has long fingers, arms, and legs. Her legs are covered by her 'outfit' with slits on either side to enable movement, must like an elegant dress. The luminescence of her hair and body change according to her emotional state as Oecammi will not voice it. Oecammi has a light and feminine voice, a lilt of delicate structure that almost resembles singing.

URL to Character Picture, if any: N/A

Character Occupation: Businesswoman, negotiator, bodyguard (formerly).

OBJECTIVES
Primary Objective:
-Establish a reputable branch outlet on behalf of Lumba's Emporium (a wholly owned subsidiary of Lumba's Entertainment, LLC). Having the need to venture beyond Ascalon and into parts unknown and unfamiliar, Lumba tasked Oecammi to establish a relationship with those in the Burrows and the Freywold, a goal to expand her enterprise beyond Ascalon's confines. What better way then to send a Oecammi, whose servile attitude would attempt to foster positive relations whilst gathering valuable insight (intel) of the Freywold's community at large.
Secondary Objectives:
-Despite her genetic predisposition, Oecammi is very curious about the notion/idea of 'individuality', although she does not know what it truly means (or entails). She looks at her 'master', Lumba, as an example of what it means to make decisions without prevarication. This is Oecammi's personal goal, which may supersede her primary goal depending on the plot lines and those she's been exposed to. Oecammi is in the habit of referring to herself as "this one", this is genetic conditioning, bred before she was full 'awakened'.

MUNDANE SKILLS
List Mundane skills here:
Negotiation: Adept business negotiator which lends itself to...
Diplomacy: That lends itself to the former.
    Administration: Encompassing both aspects

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND TALENTS
  • Ability: Close quarter combat (4). While barely hinted (okay, more like implied, and that's stretching it) in IC, Oecammi has spent most of her time as a bodyguard to Lumba prior to their residency in Urbem Ascalon. With her genetic modifications as an "EE" (see below), she was the impefect ideal bodyguard for Lumba.

OPTIONAL SUPERNATURAL CHARACTERISTICS
  • Ability 1: Genetically modified/enhanced body.
    Power Level: 5
Strengths: Oecammi is a genetically modified Tzenkethi (there are no 'pure bloods' within her society) whose genetic grading is an "EE". As an "EE" version, Oecammi was given a modicum of enhanced strength, endurance, speed and dexterity, and tasked her with the most laborious of duties (maintenance and service) in their society. At her height and weight, Oecammi can lift twice her weight before fatigue toxins accumulate and is also capable of moving faster and exhibits enhanced reflexes and dexterity better than a specialized military trained operative. For her society, these are 'common' traits and nothing special, whereas an "AA" grading would be orders above her 'inferior position' with added specialized abilities. Common among her people, Oecammi is not prone to common ailments or extreme temperatures, regeneration is required to bring Oecammi back to 'efficiency', as such, food is not a requirement. Oecammi does not have a skeleton structure as one would understand, her 'bones' are malleable to an extent, but this is utilized when she occupies a space (such as sitting or standing among a group) to minimize her presence (especially among other high grade Tzenkethi). Oecammi tends to glide rather than walk or run, at least it seems that way.
Weaknesses: Her genetically modified body is not 'perfect' in Tzenkethi standards and accumulates fatigue toxins faster than her brethren. To compare, an "AA" grading could stand a group of genetically enhanced Jem'Hadar soldiers without fatigue or noticeable duress; her "EE" grading could stand up to two soldiers (at most) before her body completely shuts down, or known as a "shutdown". In comparison to human standards, Oecammi is highly dangerous, but in the right circumstances a well equipped and trained unit would be able to subdue her. Oecammi's emotional state can also betray her if someone is knowledgeable of her change in colors. Unlike the "AA" grade Tzenkethi, Oecammi is not resistant to conventional or energy firearms and is also susceptible to radiation, various toxins, and biogenic/viral weapons.
Restrictions: Oecammi Ret Ata-EE is a genetically modified maintenance and service 'drone', for lack of a better word. Specific directives/explicit orders are imperative for Oecammi to function within acceptable parameters, although she is dabbling in pushing those boundaries. While capable of individual thought, her genetic precursors compel her to function otherwise. Unless taught or memorized, nuances are difficult for her to understand; as such she finds humans the most puzzling, given their often contradicting meanings. Oecammi cannot taste or smell foods, these are not a necessity among her people and likewise irrelevant. Although curious, Oecammi may never fully appreciate the intricacies of this function, singular or social.

MAGICAL OR SPECIAL ITEMS
List:
Federation Data PADD, Starfleet Standard: Able to hold an impressive amount of data. Self recharging. Has an external slot for data transfer and other functions with compatible technologies. Cannot hack into systems, cannot be used as a communication device past email or similar digital correspondence, cannot be used as a universal translator unless language is already programmed. Its not magic friendly. Susceptible to sustained high EMP interference or similar electronic jamming methods. This is not your one-device-fits-all situations, Oecammi specifically relies on the PADD for data records ranging from inventory to account transactions, and thus her use for it is limited to business matters on behalf of Lumba.
Mono-Molecular Twin Blades: Oecammi employs a twin pair of elongated knives (classified by non-Tzenkethi as short swords) in combat. As a bodyguard, Oecammi rarely used these blades, as her genetically modified/enhanced physiology more than compensated for any hostile encounters. She has lifted these blades twice, with devastating results. Comes with sheaths and adjustable belt.
Mono-molecular device: For cleaning and sharpening her blades. The mono-molecular sharpening of her blades enable precise movements of her strikes, enabling maximum damage with minimal exertion.
Personal Communicator: Its a device disguised as a simple, but elegant, gold bracelet with an amber stone on Oecammi's right wrist. The communicator has only one channel that maintains periodic with Lumba for the singular purpose to keep the Ferengi abreast of the business climate in the Burrows and among the Residents.

BACKGROUND
Be detailed please. You must explain how your character acquired their skills, talents, abilities, and special items. Wrap your primary and secondary objectives into it.

Education or Training: Tzenkethi genetic embedded programming. Oecammi is a service and maintenance being, as such, she performed a variety of roles in the lowest part of society in Tzenketh ranging from cargo inventory, warp nacelle cleaning, to foot soldier (although the latter was rare due to lasting peace with the Federation and the Cardassians). Her genetic program is ingrained, she did not learn it, although her complex genetic recipe allows her to adapt and learn alien concepts far better than other genetically fabricated beings.

Character Background/Biography: Oecammi Ret Ata-EE was 'born' a defect, her genetic "EE" status proclaimed her unfit to contribute to society in a 'meaningful' way past servitude and hard labor. She would never be part of a reproductive cycle with genetically superior Tzenkethi, nor would she be considered worthy of re-cloning once her life cycle expired. Instead, her life and duties were relegated to the most undesirable roles and ranged from servile roles to active combat as her genetic structure was deemed only useful for such roles. Although null-gendered like many Tzenkethi, Oecammi was identified as female, given the more feminine qualities of her physical features rather than the androgynous aspects of her peers, much to her detriment when serving those of higher standing. She served with dubious clarity, but deep down Oecammi frequently wondered what it meant to be a higher grading such as an "BB-", "AB-" or "AA" beyond her life in the "EE" rating. In 2374, an alien known as Lumba won Oecammi in a Tongo tournament and her "AB" master signed Oecammi over to the Ferengi's ownership. In her new role, she was the Ferengi's personal assistant and bodyguard, having defended the woman in a few encounters through various dealings, one of which required her blades. Lumba' tutelage was both enlightening and confusing, as the alien professed individuality, but sought to limit Oecammi's at every turn, reminding the Tzenkethi of her status under Lumba's "care". While Oecammi did not begrudge the Ferengi, she often wondered the hypocrisy of her keeper's statements, especially in terms of empowerment within females. Oecammi never dared to question Lumba, resigning herself to this fate for as long as Lumba employed her and when compared to life on Tzenketh, it was paradise.

Fate took a radical turn when both women were snatched from their 'verse and dropped into Gallimaufry. With no one else to guide her, Oecammi remained with Lumba, assisting the Ferengi in establishing a new business in Ascalon and has since been Lumba's most trusted assistant. Noticing the Tzenkethi's obvious traits in negotiation and diplomacy (something Oecammi did not register herself), Lumba tasked her assistant to establish a branch outlet in the Burrows as part of the Ferengi's enterprising goals and further specified that Oecammi live among the Residents, feeling as though opportunities would present itself and thus expand and further Lumba's financial portfolio.

OTHER GAME MECHANICS
URL to Apartment Picture: In her time among her people as well as with Lumba, Oecammi only required a small alcove from which she could huddle in upon herself to regenerate for a period of 6-8 hours (another imperfection due to variation in time). She does not know what it means to have an 'apartment' and would likely be very confused -and frightened- to having such an spacious dwelling.

Caught up with IC reading. Will post in next few hours.

Min, Oecammi sounds interesting; took me by surprise! Were you unable to find a picture?
Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.
