Hey Lumi, about the ideas for the school rivalries things. How about giving an excuse to everyone to be formal with a ball during it? Just something that would give opportunities for plenty of interactions and to describe the other schools as well.

I can see stronk Royssian wearing thick furry coats making them look like bears while wearing those furry hats as well. Formal wise they might wear some form of robes that reflect their proud Royssian heritage.

Nippon could wear the kimono or furisode (for female especially), maybe?

I say we have an Indian (from India).
