I think that there is more evidence for them than any sort of god being as described in the Torah, Bible, or quran.
It's obvious you haven't read Chariots of the Gods.
Let's take an example of the maps that Piri Reis found.
Piri Reis was a Turkish admiral who got copies of an old map. Nothing special, you would think, but the strange thing was that the perspective was all wrong.

We know that South Africa is not such an elongated landmass as it is shown here. But what happens if you overlay the Piri Reis map on a globe of today, taking Cairo (like the map did) as the center?
http://old.world-mysteries.com/piri_cairo2.gif
How does the map get such a perspective? Only by looking at the world from an amazing heights that humanity did not reach until it went into space.
Same story for the Aztec "roads". Why would Aztecs make roads if they had neither carts nor horses let alone the wheel? Furthermore, those roads do not even go anywhere.
However, if you look at the roads from a higher vantage point, they become more like...lines to follow in a certain direction, like we know now on things called airfields.

Unfortunatly for him, he got me a few Years too late for me to dig deeper his cool Story.
Aside from that I am not uninterested into that Topic but as a hard matter of fact:
If there had been, at any given time in the past, be a Civilization with advanced technology on Earth we would likely know much if not everything about them. We would have found their ruins, the remains of their Civilization. Any industrial and advanced Civilization leaves traces back.
And all we have found is that block in the Japanese Sea.
I want to believe though.

Old maps are often hilariously bad perspective indicative only of poor equipment for tracking relative position.
Why would aliens need an airfield? You're telling me they have an interstellar spaceship that can travel the vast quintillions of kilometers between stars and no VTOL craft?

You say that, but do you know whether Aztecs could understand these ships? If they did not possess the wheel, do you think they could conceive VTOL? In a sense, I think a good example of our relationship to the ancient astronauts is the case of cargo cults. Have you ever read up on those? They are highly interesting examples of what kind of culture shock it can be to see people suddenly appearing.
My favorite example of the cargo cutls is the cult of "John Frum", read it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Frum

Why would the Aztecs build airfields if the aliens didn't require airfields? Cargo cults build structures to mimic what they've seen. They don't conjure shit up whole cloth. Your hypothesis is absurd and insulting.
