A Runoff Poll [Vote Now!]

Postby Voltrovia » Sun Apr 03, 2016 4:52 pm

The Voltrovian Legation to this World Assembly has decided that given the widespread disquiet following the results of the final ballot of the Election of the Secretary-General, and it's own deep misgivings over the process, that the only acceptable course is a runoff between the two highest-polling candidates.

In order to gauge support for this extraordinary measure, the Legation has created this Poll to record the general opinion of the Assembly. Please cast a vote to show national support or opposition to the proposal.

It would be appreciated if all national legations which have voted post their vote (and opinion) below, in the interests of transparency and the integrity of the Poll. [Notice as of 1:18 GMT/19:18 EST]

If we burn the defence papers, maybe the journalists will go away. On a private estate in the middle of the night.

Note: the Legation strictly forbids robovoting or manipulation of the Poll. Although it may have no substantive power to enforce such a ban, our government would still suggest that needing to in effect cheat for no justifiable purpose in a text-based online game reflects rather poorly on any perpetrator.

That being said, vote, vote, vote (legitimately)!

Wow, the runoff wins, with an actual majority...

There's a reason the US elections work like they do. There should be a one on one to indicate both what people are for AND what people are against.
Economic Left/Right: 6.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.49
For: Capitalism, Free Market, Liberty, Small Government, Autonomy
Against: Communism/Socialism, Autocracy, Third Wave Feminism, Fascism, Neo-Conservatism
96% Libertarians
78% Republicans
74% Constitution Party
41% Green Party
39% Democrats
30% Socialist

Nope. The nation that got the most votes won. It's called democracy.

Except the nation that won did not receive a majority of the votes cast. Therefore, the chosen candidate represents a minority of all WA interests.

It didn't get an overall majority, true. BUT, it did get more votes than any other contender.
