It looks okay.
Think the abilities are more of effects than stats though. Stats aren't going to be very important, it is just a NS rp, after all.
Link might be needed for theme song and voice.
It appears I'm an INTP-T. You're not gonna get much more about me.

Tarius Eastoft
Image

Position in the Fleet: First Mate of the N.N. Cassandra
Race: Human
Gender/Sex: Male and Male.
Appearance: to de right mon
Calling Tarius anything less than near-statuesque would be doing him an injustice. Tall, with fair skin and a well-toned body, he is solid and lean from head to toe.
    Height: 6'1". Approximately 185cm.
    Weight: 180lbs. Approximately 82kg.

Personality: Generally loud, boisterous, and jubilant. Tarius often finds trouble keeping his mouth shut at the right time. Despite this, however, he has a certain air of confidence about him. He carries himself with grace and borderline cockiness, but he - most of the time - knows when to be humble. He is incredibly determined to prove his worth and skill in every venture he undertakes, which can sometimes lead to immense frustration should he fail. His guile and trickery has saved him on just as many occasions as his blade, and he can often be found regaling one mistress or another with fanciful tales of the high seas. His one fault is the immense care to which he takes when he dresses and grooms himself, and can be considered narcissistic for this reason. Tarius is incredibly brutal in combat, often pushing his body far past safe limits in order to decimate the enemy.

Background: Born in 1206 G.D. as a result of an all-too-brief relationship between a Countess of Neverwinter and a particularly lucky pirate, Tarius' father fled the city merely weeks after conceiving him, and simply left Tarius and the Countess, one Maria Eastoft, as an afterthought. Tarius spent his first ten years growing up pampered, coddled, and sequestered from the scummy understreets of Neverwinter proper.

It was in the next decade, however, that Tarius truly found his place in the world. After his mother earned the attention of a very prominent Baron with an estate just outside of the city. Tarius, more often than not, was left alone at his manor while Maria was off on wild escapades with her new significant other. Tarius could hardly blame her. She had spent ten years waiting for a man who had clearly stolen her heart to return, and he never did. However, this did not mean that Tarius did not take advantage of the situation. During his teenage years, he frequently went on quiet romps throughout the city's seedier corners. He gambled, drank, partied, and fought with some of the most infamous scum that Neverwinter had to offer. He shone particularly bright in the Blood Pits, an underground(literally) brawling circuit that was most notably known for gaudy executions of the loser. Possessing a sort of martial prowess, Tarius found himself toppling much larger opponents than himself simply based on his speed and agility. What he did not know, however, is that he had developed latent magical ability, which allowed him to jump higher, run faster, and strike quicker than most regular humans. Not to mention, if he focused intently, his wounds healed much quicker than a normal human's would.

It was here, in 2022 G.D., that he was noticed by the Neverwinter Navy. They had sent recruiters to every corner of the city, looking for individuals with either the talent or the grit to survive the high seas and fight against the enemies of the Lord Protector. One of those individuals happened to be Tarius. After a particularly long fight, he was approached and offered the "both adventurous and very well-paying position of a midshipman in the Neverwinter Navy". Tarius could hardly refuse, and before he knew it he found himself sailing on the N.N. Ephyxis.

Tarius spent three years aboard the Ephyxis, seeing more action than he'd expected and honing his innate magical powers. In 2025 G.D., his ship was intercepted by a frigate hailing from Baldur's Gate. The two engaged in heavy combat, with the Ephyxis eventually emerging triumphant. Her captain, however, did not feel that the white flag was appropriate. He ordered the execution of every crewmate still alive aboard the enemy frigate. Tarius followed through with the order, not seeing a problem with it. When Neverwinter caught wind of the massacre, however, they most certainly found an issue.

The whole crew of the Ephyxis was sentenced to death, Tarius among them. While they were being organized and the nooses were being tied around their neck, a pirate known as Vario Piscar emerged from the crowd and spoke briefly with the Neverwinter official overseeing the execution. After a few nods and smiles, and the transfer of a copious amount of gold, the official announced that Vario would be taking one of the crew members to be serving aboard the N.N. Cassandra, one of the more infamous vessels of the Neverwinter Privateer fleet. With almost no hesitation, Piscar plucked Tarius from the gallows, and dragged him to the Cassandra.

It is here that Tarius has stayed, now for the last seven years. He has slowly ranked himself up to Vario's first mate, and trusts the captain's every move. Tarius still feels he owes Vario his entire life, and serves him with absolute loyalty.

Class: Ranger
Subclass: Original
Special Abilities:
  • Level 1 - Martial Prowess - Tarius taps into the raw magical energy that has manifested in his fighting skills. His perception of time slows down, though he appears to move in a blur to outside observers. His blades and bow become an extension of his body, and his body becomes an extension of his mind. Weaknesses become easier to spot on enemies. He is a cold, focused killer.
  • Level 3 - Fey Tentacle - Tarius connects with the gargantuan magical presence of the Kraken roaming the Sword Coast. Using this, he rips open a portal 20 feet in front of himself, and a Fey Tentacle emerges from it. This tentacle, tethered to Tarius' consciousness, immediately begins targeting nearby enemies with crushing blows. The tentacle is fairly fragile, and will recede back into the portal after two or three heavy hits.
Equipment:
  • Arcane Focus - When Tarius was made aware of his latent magical ability, he immediately pursued the creation of a Focus in order to enhance his abilities and combat. His Focus manifests in a small emerald ring which he wears on his right-middle finger.
  • Cutlass - One of two blades that Tarius wields simultaneously. Not much special here, other than a reinforced handguard and folded steel along the blade.
  • Rapier - The other blade that Tarius wields. Meant primarly for stabbing, though the edges have been sharpened to enhance its slicing ability. Same folded steel smithing technique as Tarius' cutlass. It has been enhanced to retain a special skin-rotting venom, which can decompose an entire limb in just under a two days if the antivenom is not applied.
  • Compound Bow - Much better suited to the potential close-quarters situations of battles on the high seas, Tarius generally uses his bow to pick off important targets or cause fires before boarding.
  • Leather and Cloth Armor - Light armor that allows Tarius to move and strike quickly. It gives him suitable protection in all his vital parts, using a combination of leather and padded cloth, but leaves the rest of his body generally exposed and reliant on him avoiding blows.
  • Arrows x40. 20 standard arrows, 5 broadheads, 5 armor piercing, 5 poisoned, and 5 with a copious amount of explosive powder attached to a fuse in the head(for fires and booms.)
  • Antivenom x4
  • Waterskin x1

Ability Scores:
Strength: 15 [14+1]
Dexterity: 16 [15+1]
Constitution: 14 [13+1]
Intelligence: 9 [8+1]
Wisdom: 13 [10+1][+2 for level]
Charisma: 14 [12+1][+1 for level]

Strengths: Leadership | Combat | Marksmanship | Gymnastics and other athletics | Navigation
A true commander. Tarius fights best when able to hear the battle cries of his allies and taste the fear on his foes breath. His latent magical prowess gives him a natural ability in combat, as it enhances his reflexes and speed. Ten years aboard seaborne vessels have given him a sturdy pair of sea legs, which combine with his innate agility to give him a monkey-like mastery of flips, climbing, and other acrobatic feats. His acute senses have made him an excellent tracker, and he is often found at the Crow's nest, prattling information down to those below him about whatever target they may currently be pursuing.
Weaknesses: Impatient | Fragile situations | Formal education | Traditional magic
Despite his leading ability, Tarius struggles in situations that require a great deal of patience. He also is generally intolerant of inactivity, lackadaisical motion or progress, and negotiation. He will often instigate or press a situation one way or the other to make someone rapidly decide their course of action rather than wait for them to mull it over. He lacks any education past intermediate reading and writing taught to him at his mother's house, and is generally average-to-incompetent with traditional magical casting.

Likes: Any thing that makes his breath ragged. Fighting, running, climbing, and more carnal things. He also happens to enjoy exotic foods, and goes to extreme lengths to acquire spices from southern provinces of Faerun. A verbal duel always exhilarates him, and he will often take the role of a playful devil's advocate if simply to just engage in debate.
Dislikes: Marriage, and steady relationships for that matter, never were entirely appealing to him. He particularly hates nobility, and for that matter most systems of authority outside that of the Cassandra. He never was one for strict rules, though he understands the necessity of order aboard a vessel filled with pirates.
Theme Song: Juice - Chance the Rapper
Voice: Idris Elba

Personality: Tsov is generally calm and relaxed. He speaks kindly to subordinates, cordially to equals, and with respect to his betters. All in all,he generally acts nice. A little aloof, but nice. In actuality, he's completely deranged. He believes that everyone in the world is out for themselves, and that it's better to crush others before they crushes you. His tiger aspect also causes him to show some hostility in tense situations, something that's gotten him into trouble before.
Background: Tsov was born in Port Korinnia, to a loving mother and father. He was a normal child, running, playing with other kids, and occasionally getting into trouble. He never thought about his "aspect" as his father called it when they snuck out to train. He never questioned why he couldn't talk to his mother, or his friends about his cool ability to change shape.
That changed when he was ten. One morning, he woke up to his mother screaming at his father to get out. His dad looked at him one last time, and slipped away forever. His mom turned on him, calling him a monster, and treating to kill him. The town guard intervened, and took Tsov away. As he left his home, he heard the neighbors whispering about demons and unholy creatures. He understood at last. It was then when he lost faith in others.
It was decided that he would join the Order of Heironeos, a group of monks dedicated to the God of chivalry, justice, honor, war, and valor. They taught him about their God, and trained him in the art of fighting, with a kusarigama, and while unarmed. He picked up both quickly, and continued training till the age of 21, when his aspect was discovered by a fellow monk. The monk berated Tsov, calling him an unholy abomination, and Tsov snapped, switching into his tiger form, and killing the monk. He denounced the gods, and ran.Now a fugitive, he ended up in Neverwinter, where he combined the finesse of his martial arts training with hard lessons learned in bar fights. He eventually joined the Neverwinter Privateer Fleet, where he discovered that his unarmed style of combat was perfect for cramped quarters on ships. He continued to sail, until age 24, where the story begins.

Class: Monk
Subclass: Rogue Master
Special Ability: He has mastered unarmed combat, in all his forms. Tsov can rely on his instincts and training for to spot where an enemy is weakest, and strike, giving a chance to deal increased damage when using his hands(or paws)
Equipment: Kursarigama
Simple Black Cloak
Satchel
Bedroll
Iron Dagger, for cutting rope

Ability Scores:
]Strength: 14
Dexterity: 15
Constitution: 13
Intelligence: 10
Wisdom: 12 +2
Charisma: 8
Strengths: Unarmed combat, running, and has honed his fighting skills as a hybrid and in tiger form.
Weaknesses: Magic, ranged combat, and using armor

Likes: Fighting, Training, Killing, Raw Meat,
Dislikes: The Gods, Priests, Guards, Plant Food

To be honest, first mates aren't chosen. But honestly, that position is really only going to those who helped worldbuild. I'd prefer if you started as a regular crewmate. Nothing against you, just policy in the roleplay.

Also, the levels don't make a huge difference. It's not like captains are inherently more powerful than crewmates. It's simply chain of command, and it's not gonna be the focus of the roleplay.

Well that would depend... because after some discussion and plot building my char's fated to be the (next)first mate... ultimately, it's still Charli's decision, and I should not play a part in decisions of a PC's command structure...

Just a thought. Don't really actually want to be.
