Name: Alexis Theophrast Sigismund von Einzbern
Age: 38, though he looks younger.
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Nationality/Ethnicity: German
Religion (if any):
Servant: TBA
Catalyst used: TBA
Preferred School of Magic: Alchemy
Preferred Class: Not too picky, though probably not assassin, or Lancer if they're Irish, because dat bad luck.
Bio: Created 38 years ago by the Einzberns, he was made as part of an experiment, taking some genetic material from the remains of Christian Rosenkreutz, whose underground tomb had been rediscovered by them several decades earlier. That particular man was the founder of the Rosicrucian order, a reowned magus, alchemist and hermeticist descended of the Germelshausen family, and the one who would be their last scion. They were a German noble family that had flourished in the 13th century, with a castle that stood in the Thuringian Forest on the Border of Hesse until Konrad von Marburg put most of them to death for their Cathar beliefs, and was said to have died out with Rosenkreutz. Having been the sole survivor, he had been raised by Cathars in a monastery, before travelling, in due time learning of various spiritual and mystical traditions. He sought to perfect his magecraft, and achieve the Cathar concept of Gnosis, and at some point founding the Rosicrucian Order, before dying at the age of 103. He was also rumoured to have reappeared or reincarnated in the 1700s as the mysterious Count of St. Germain, rumoured by Theosophy to be an immortal, and perhaps a supernatural being known as an Ascended Master. The name Germelshausen, may also be related to a tale published in the 1860s concerning a cursed village that sank into the earth long ago and is permitted to appear for only one day every century, a tale of lost love, with young artist who falls in love with a young woman, and him leaving the vicinity just in time to avoid being entombed with the village and its denizens, but thereby being sundered from his love forever, with elements taken from earlier folktales and old German motifs.
Physically weak, fragile, underdeveloped and initially under-performing when taught Magecraft, Alexis was seen as a failure. Whilst not completely useless, he did not give the Einzberns what they sought. He was locked away in the recesses of an Einzbern estate somewhere in the Black Forest of Germany, for the most part a guinea pig for magical research, in particular regarding alchemy, healing magic and modifying already-grown homunculi. Gradually, as years went on, an untapped potential began to reveal itself. Though there were considerable issues with drawing it out, Alexis held a remarkable amount of magical energy. A magical parasite with a mystic code was implanted into him, possibly in a deal with the Matou, whose expertise they were aware of, in extracting magical potential through efficient yet brutal means.
It's probable that in return the Einzberns gave them some of the earlier mentioned research regarding healing magic, using Zouken's interest in means of prolonging and sustaining (his own) life to their advantage in the deal. The parasite in particular shared some similarities with the Crest Worms, but was also distinct from them (among other things, not going down the route of "consume their bone marrow and part of the brain after shattering his spine" for men, as well as being a weird combo of worm, insect and fungus). It forces him to devour the flesh and blood of others, lest it take all of his, whilst already feeding upon his emotional and magical energy. Initially, it was implanted into his chest, though it began growing, multiplying and spreading at an unusual rate, to to his body being rich hunting grounds, so to speak. Centred around his heart, the parasite and its "children" infested his body to such a great extent that they became more vital than his internal organs.
It, along with its "spawn," began taking over his nervous system, manipulating, and often enhancing his emotions and senses through both control of the body's natural chemicals, and direct physical/biological integration and stimulation. In return, it increases his agility and regenerative capabilities, as well as the amount of magical energy he can tap into. It also allows him to transform his teeth into fangs and nails into claws, as well as secreting a potent poison in his skin, and spores from the parasite itself. A side effect of the parasite, is that is also "hard-codded" to do everything in its ability to ensure his loyalty and obedience to the Einzberns (though secretly, they're below the Matou in priority, should that ever be relevant).
After so many years, it became a deeply routed part of him, even infesting his soul. It manipulated him, evoking and consuming his fear, pain, hatred, joy, sadness, lust and whatever other emotion or feeling one could care to name. It warred against his kindness, creating an amorality that decreased his resistance to the notion of feeding on others, rewarding him with positive sensations or emotions if killing and causing others to suffer. Even any mental anguish he may have had in the matter was something that the parasite was eager to consume, and there was much to be gained from Alexis alone, creating a chaotic maelstrom of fear and hope, joy and grief, pain and pleasure, pride and shame.
Now beginning to prove his worth, the Einzberns started teaching him more magecraft, and sending him on missions, sometimes to obtain magical artefacts, or kill potential threats. They were cautious at first, more content to keep using him as a platform for experiments, especially now he could recover more quickly from them. He was allowed a little free time, to read magical tomes in the library, and expand his own capabilities and knowledge to better serve them. He would also serve as a "living battery" or magical conduit for magical rituals at times, due to the amount of magical energy available from him. Around twenty years ago he got involved in a fierce confrontation with [insert enemy/enemies here and their location], and over exerted himself, being ambushed, cut off, trapped and heavily injured repeatedly to levels beyond normal human durability, and then becoming comatose, whilst his right eye was destroyed and absorbed by one of the parasites. Though he was recovered shortly after by the Einzberns, he himself would not be so quick to mend. For the next nine years, he was a wreck, to put it bluntly. Not only was that battle extremely taxing, the parasites drew so much from his body that his nervous system had overloaded and fried in their frantic attempts to gain extra energy and feed. After considerable work, he eventually recuperated, though his memories regarding that last battle were foggy at best.
Moar to come. Also, those raep worms are there because I'm kinky like that.
Likes and Dislikes: Likes: Books, nature, sweets, animals, magic, classical music, killing, other stuff. Dislikes; failing, other stuff.
Personality: Quiet and generally seeming apathetic, it can be difficult to tell whether Alexis is simply good at hiding his emotions, or doesn't care, though he often seems to be smiling faintly, for no apparent reason. He usually attempts to be emotionally distant, refusing to allow anyone to become too close to him, though it tends to come off as shy, rather than cold. Somewhat eccentric. Sometimes a bit bloodthirsty, predatory and ruthless. Possibly has an inferiority complex. Masochistic, though the parasite can easily evoke more sadistic tendencies at times. He lacks much in the way of social skills, and in some ways is naïve, of almost childlike ignorance in regards to society and people, yet at the same time pessimistic and jaded, ruthless to those that get in his way (unless he serves them), yet also expecting others to grind him into the dirt, or attempt to do so. Bit mentally unstable.
Whilst often cold, despite simultaneously seeming mildly amused or pleased, he can at rare times be remarkably fearful and eager to obey others, should he be cornered or overpowered. Occasionally he seems genuinely kind, possessing an odd serenity, and a calm acceptance of all that happens to him. Yet further still, there are brief moments when he realises and contemplates his past and the situation he is in, and becomes anything from somewhat melancholic to despair incarnate. Not really used to kindness from others, which can put him off balance and make him a bit overly attached if continued. Bit more complicated, since he's simultaneously both the willing and unwilling pawn of a magical parasite within him. Some other stuff may go here.
Wish: (What would you wish the Grail? This is actually important.) TBD
RP Sample: No.

Have him adopted by Zouken and becoming a Matou and I'd allow it, maybe. :V

Not sure how the specifics of that would work. Perhaps after that defeat mentioned in the bio where he's out of action for a bit, he gets left to Zouken (perhaps after the Einzberns assume he's not of much use to them any-more), and adopted?
Also, because sticking a Japanese surname on the end of a German name would be weird (just like other culturally dissonant names often are), not sure if his name should just be kept as it is, or turn Einzbern into a double-barrelled surname. The later might make more sense, and also indicates that he has connections with both families (and thus their prestige/reputation). Hmm...
