^this. people can do as they very well fucking please.

So in theory, I can build a 1000 meter tall building right next to your airport? What would it do to your air traffic?

The airport should have bought that land then.

Dear God, How much land?

Land enough to build several apartments? We have a shortage of such!

The grubby Airport needs only a little flat land around a few runways and a decet taxiway with hangars.

The only regulation is our mason's skill. Our highest building, the Great Serpent Temple, is about 480 feet tall at the peak of its dome.

There is only 1 regulation:

'A building must not be so massive that it collapses under it's own weight under penalty of death and a 5000 data point fine.'

Apart from safety legislation, local authorities in Charlotte Ryberg may impose a restriction on building height if a cultural site is nearby. Tourists may not appreciate a monstrous shadow being cast over the glass dome museum.

The capital city of Antjepolis, Istanbul, Yauna City, and other major cities are subject to green belt legislation to prevent excessive urban sprawl, although the trend is that many people are moving out to the countryside following the expansion of Stadtschnellbahn (S-Bahn) services from many cities into the fringes.

*Laughs hysterically*

The government has more important things to do than regulate building heights, which is VERY, VERY stupid in our opinions!

Most buildings have to be lower than four stories, this is so the grand imperial buildings, such as victory columns, palaces, ministries etc. can be seen from a distance.

There are height limits around airports, lighthouses or in any areas where tall buildings would get in the way.
In other areas there are no regulations.

It can be as high as the contractor likes, as long as it is safe.

Due to periodic hurricane-force winds, buildings above 5 stories in height are required to meet very exacting building safety standards.

Apart from that there are no laws per se, though an intended skyscraper to be situated next to an airport would be vanishingly unlikely to receive planning permission.

We don't have any regulations but Fatatatutians tend not to like heights, so most buildings are no taller than a tree. Elevators are still considered an oddity. Some people avoid them and some people could go up and down in them all day, just for fun.

There is no limit, but most buildings that aren't government buildings or hospitals aren't over 2 stories.

If a building is overhanging then there are specific road signs in our nation for this:

Occasionally, the sign will be in both metric and imperial, as below:

There are no specific height regulations for buildings. But all buildings are required to have lightning rods on them. Buildings over 200 feet are required to have Fixed red light Aviation Beacons.

Same here. About airports: they used to be outside of the cities where land is cheap and where they could buy a wider area than they needed for their own installations. When the cities approached, the airports started renting the land and setting their own height constraints. This is not only not requiring any regulation, but a nice little profit (in Najajara kali, it is said that it is the main profit for the local airport) as well.
