Cora had taken a few days off from her work with the government and had gotten her teammates to cover her shifts on patrol. She told everyone that she wasn't feeling well, and that was only partially a lie. Cora had been so nervous that she was barely able to focus on anything, even training. You see, today wouldn't be just any day, it was Valentine's Day. It wasn't just Katie and Cora's first Valentine's Day as a couple, it was Cora's first ever.

From everything that she had read online and seen on tv, this day was very important. She knew the would have to be very romantic and Cora wanted terribly to impress Katie and meet her expectations. To add even more pressure, Cora had a feeling that this might be the night for them to have... another first. They had been dating for around 4 months now after all, and it seemed like this would be the best time if any.

The reason they had waited this long was mostly because of Cora. She had very little experience and it took her a while to get used to the idea of intimacy. She now wanted this very much, but she was nervous about her total lack on knowledge and experience. She didn't want to embarrass herself in front of Katie and disappoint her.

Cora spent most of her "sick days" researching both of these topics online, as well as going shopping for an outfit to wear that night. She had done a lot of work, but she wasn't sure if she was ready. She was currently laying in her and Katie's bed trying to get some much needed rest and take a break from worrying for a little while.she found herself wondering a bit where Katie might be, and what she was thinking about all of this.

It was then that Katie opened the door, her trademark smile and exuberance about her. She had a small present behind her back, though she kept it stealthily out of view whenever she wasn't twirling, and even then she did it so fast it would be near imposible to notice the prezie. She spun towards her girlfriend, jumping into bed with her.

"Today's the day Cora." She spoke, wrapping arms around her. She was so excited, she could barely contain herself.

I'm pretty sure Naja had everything to do with this..." He said and would have wiggled his toes had he had any. It was times like this that he really wished his parents were still alive so they could give him advice on how to talk to women. "I wouldn't mind solving space mysteries and... Stuff." Julie said intimate. He wasn't completely oblivious as to how sex worked. TV was a great teacher. Good Teacher. Okay Teacher... A teacher. "I... don't think that's a bad thing. Cops typically can't have spouses in the same precinct anyways. But I'm not a space cop. I mean, I kinda was for like... Five minutes. Then Darkseid... Then... Everything else. Then... You."

"Am I being awkward? I hope I'm not being awkward. I have no idea what I'm doing... Which is the summary of my life story." He admitted, on the borderline of sweating.

"Well, yeah. He is sort of like that. Ruler of a nation yet very poor at picking up certain social cues." Julie remarked. "Then again I'm a workaholic Green White Lantern so who am I to judge?" She smiled as she then chuckled at Otis' nervousness. "Don't worry. Youre not being awkward. Or at least not in a way that doesn't endear you even more to me." She spoke quite bluntly. Perhaps too blunty, was she being too forward? She supposed it didn't matter too much. One of them needed to be the forward one. "No one knows what they're doing when it comes to dating. You only get good at it by trusting your instincts. Like a lot of things actually..."

"We all have faults. Luckily for him, he's got a wife to help him with that kind of stuff. Wait. A green/white Lantern? I know they came in green, yellow and apparently blue. But there's white too?" He asked. "What's the thing white goes off of?" He was endearing? That wasn't something that he'd ever been called before. Not that it bothered him. "Awe... You're so sweet. Really..." He said sliding his feet along the ground nervously. "I'm going to be honest, it's hard to tell the difference between instinct, nervousness, arousal, and like the fifty thousand other things I've got going through my head at the moment. Maybe we could start be going someone a bit more... Private? You'd probably know more nice quiet areas to hang out than I do."

Slave Camp

A few hours after Naja and Xander liberated the slave camp a loud boom Tube opened up and stepped out Wyatt, followed by Desaad and a terrified Kalibak. "What the FUCK? Seriously?! I gave him a small list of VERY simple tasks. HOW? Scrawny. You saw me give him that zapper, right? It could put a Kryptonian into a coma for a doggamned YEAR." He shouted as he floated around the corpse of what was once his subordinate. "And he manages to get his head torn off. You know what, you deserve it you stupid idiot." He surrounded the head in a white glow, which brought it back to life, but only the head. "Alright Fuckup. The hell happened?" He asked the floating dismembered head.

"There was a human... He-he wore this terribly gaudy outfit. Blue and Yellow. And his wife, a reptilian-"

"Lemme stop you there. Hairy! Did I not tell this idiot to watch out for poorly dressed motherfuckers that fly? I know you're an idiot. But here's the thing. Nature color codes shit for a very good reason. The bright and colorful shit is the shit you DO NOT want to antagonize. Cause that's how you get killed. And I see mining equipment. All you had to do was kill the males and chain the females to the wall until I got here. Holy FUCK, why is everyone so USELESS?!" He asked pinching his nose for a second.

"This planet is rich in Vibranium! I thought it would be-"

"Vibranium?" Wyatt asked and grabbed a chunk of some of the unrefined ore, took a bite out of it like one would an apple, and then spat the shards out. "I could SHIT vibranium if I wanted to. Better yet, I could make Hairy shit it. Alright." Wyatt said and caused the Arocians' head to explode quite violently. "Since bumblefuck over here can't handle the simple task of getting me something to amuse myself. I guess we're doing this the old fashioned way. We're takin' over this universe."

"Master. That is quite a daunting task. This universe is not quite as weak as the others."

"I'm not a fucking moron. That, and I don't wanna blow this place to primordial dust. A place with this many superheroes that kill has to have some hot women. And since they'd get their asses killed in the conflict, we have to be more subtle. They all still think Yuga-Whateverthefuck is still alive. That means I've got the element of surprise. We've got someone learnin' to do. Scrawny. I want you to show me the strongest of the idiots guarding this universe. And then I'm going to show you idiots how you conquer a universe so well that they'll practically be giving it too us. Hairy, I'm gonna need something to keep me from getting too bored. Don't fuck it up. It's the one thing you're good for."

"Today's the day Cora." She spoke, wrapping arms around her. She was so excited, she could barely contain herself.

Cora heard Katie coming through the door, she barely needed to see her to know how excited she was. Cora could hear her spinning and twirling like she often did when she was excited. Cora couldn't help but tense up slightly when Katie jumped onto the bed, Cora felt jumpy right now and considering what she was worried about being in the same bed as Katie wasn't helping. She relaxed in her girlfriend's arms however, trying not to let her feelings show. She didn't want to upset or offend Katie, making her think this had anything to do with her or was her fault at all.

"Hi Katie, I know I'm excited for tonight too." Cora told her girlfriend, snuggling into her embrace and resting her head on Katie's shoulder. Their plan was to see a romantic movie that night, before going ice skating and then getting ice cream and sitting together in a beautiful park that Cora found outside the city to look up at stars together.

"I can't believe I'm having my first Valentine's day with someone." Cora told Katie honestly. "You've made this whole transition a lot easier Katie, and I'm really great full for that." Cora told her girlfriend, giving her a kiss on the cheek. She enjoyed this restful time they were spending together, and it did help her relax a bit.

Supreme Demonic Dark God Alastir

"I've moved on from my petty hatred towards both Xander and Otis, as I know that they will never be around forever to defend their planet, but I will live forever, plotting endlessly and tactically for my punishment of Earth, as before, I will not simply destroy or enslave humanity, but I will bring upon them the wrath of one man that was unleashed onto my Galaxy and return it to them, I have no regards for the Avengers, the Asgardians, the Justice League. I will make sure that they all know what that their General Eiling has wrought upon them, Xander and Otis are simple nuisances that will eventually fade over time, as wars come and go, but my soldiers shall always stay eternal, myself included."

- Alastir, Hours After the Botched Assault on Earth

Alastir, who had managed to slice open the Legendary Super Saiyan and expose his still active internal organ structure, and to Alastir's pleasant surprise, his organs operated similarly to a human's own anatomy, with only one exception, Broly's adrenal gland was producing numerous hormones that gave the Legendary Super Saiyan his animalistic nature as well as his absurdly strong physical prowess "Interesting..." Alastir murmured to himself, tossing the bloodied Sickle on the floor with reckless abandon "All I need is a DNA Sample and I'll be able to continue on my journey." Alastir hummed happily, before he sensed Mira's presence within his throne room, standing at the very entry arch of his glorious outside palace "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." Alastir called out to the Second Demon King.

With a smirk, Mira replied with a very simple statement "Julius Robert Oppenheimer, producer of the First Atomic Bomb." In response, Alastir clapped his hands with a joyous smile on his face "Excellent!" Alastir practically chuckled, before Classical German Music began playing in the background of the entire Palace, Alastir had a thing for classical music, as it was one of the few things that could calm his nerves "Do forgive me for criticizing your skills against the Saiyan, but what I speak is the truth Mira..." Alastir said to Mira, pulling out a needle and stuck it into the very center of Broly's heart, extracting the Oxygen Rich Blood from the major organ "You, like my other lieutenants have started to slack off from your training, and that..." Alastir pulled the needle away from the Saiyan's Heart and healed up the small hole he just made, placing the needle on the metal tray right next to him.

"That has to change right now Mira." Alastir turned and walked to his throne and sat upon it "You know of the power within you Mira, and It is great, but you have yet to use it to your full potential." Without even exchanging a glance towards a boulder that sat on the ground on his right side, it merely faded away as if it was never meant to exist in the first place "Molecular Manipulation, Dark Magic, Psionic Manipulation, and even full-scale Ki, or Life Force Manipulation." Alastir reminded Mira, who simply nodded "Focus on what you've been using for your whole life, master your Ki and use it at it's full potential before you move onto Psionics, start from scratch, analyze your own combat type, improve upon it and apply new techniques to your arsenal, Offensive Capabilities, Defensive Capabilities, even Supplementary Abilities will drastically change the outcome of a battle, for now..." Alastir gestured to the still opened chest of Broly "Show me your proficiency in Ki Control, operate on the Saiyan and extract a sample from Broly's Adrenal Gland." Alastir smiled, sitting back and closing his eyes as he continued to listen to the classical music that echoed throughout his palace.

Guardian/Knight - Nemesis Objective part 3.5

Postby Confederation of imperial states » Wed Jan 13, 2016 3:49 pm

Star Labs Facility, Advanced Sciences Labs

11:30pm

The Knight and Guardian hurried into the lab, as The Knight walked over to the large terminal near the end of the room, Guardian marveled at most of the equipment. "Geez, do you see most of this stuff, looks straight out of Science Fiction", "Star Labs is one, if not, the most Advanced Science Organization in the Country, possibly the world. Their technology has helped any people in their time, now, onto the matter at hand". The Knight placed the partly charred gun onto the scanning pad on the terminal, entering the correct code he started a scan, "Once this is done, we can see who had this made". The Knight and Guardian waited as the terminal scanned the weapon, after a period of 2 minutes if finally finished and submitted a fax paper file of the submitted maker.

"Alexander Luthor?", Guardian raised an eyebrow, "wait. Lex Luthor? That guy from metropolis? Why the hell did he fund this?". The Knight pondered this, they were interrupted when they heard the echoing sounds of footsteps and yelling from the guards, "looks like our time is up, Guardian we'll split up and meet at the public offices below the cliff side, We'll discuss from there". Guardian nodded as The Knight grappled up through a grate in the ceiling, Guardian flew out through the way they came, the guards busting through seconds after he'd left. Guardian looked around, seeing The Knight standing down by a water fountain he landed, walking over. "So, about Luthor", "I don't know why Stahl and Luthor are working together, but whatever it is, they've pulled civilians into the crossfire to get our attention". Guardian nodded, "so, Head to Metropolis?" The Knight nodded, just as they heard a loud crash from behind. The Knight turned, only to roll to the side as a large car was thrown at him, Guardian caught it, and saw Solomon Grundy standing there, alongside Shiva, Nightshade, and Cheetah.

"Looks Like We've got Company", "High, Low?", "Indeed", The Knight grabbed Guardian's hand, Guardain swung around and threw The Knight, causing him to smash into Nightshade and Cheetah, before Grundy could act Guardian rocketed into his chest, knocking them back meters away. Shiva took out heir dual custom blades and began to swing at The Knight, The Knight began blocking with his gauntlets, matching her skill with the blade, The Knight parried one of her attacks. Catching her off guard The Knight tripped shiva, then punched her straight across the face knocking her out. The Knight quickly ducked behind a large piece of rubble made by Grundy as Nightshade threw dark crystal like shards.

Guardian began to Smack Grundy around, punching him, each hit pushing him back further, Grundy brought both his hands into a fist and smashed down, smashing Guardian into the dirt. Grundy began punching into the ground, Driving Guardian further into the dirt. Guardian caught one of Grundy's punches, using his other hand to Radio to Guardian using his earpiece. ["Why the heck won't this guy take a punch"] Guardian said gritting his teeth, ["Looking, Solomon Grundy: Died at an unknown date in the 1800s, He's virtually a Zombie"], ["meaning?"], ["orbit"]. Guardian's eyes opened, then he smiled as he threw off both Grundy's hands and smashed straight into his chest, then flew at top speeds for Earth's atmosphere.

The Knight dodged Nightshade's crystals as she threw then in groups, Cheetah raced ahead to Nightshade's caution, Cheetah attacked The Knight, clawing at him and kicking him. The Knight caught one of Cheetah's let's, spinning around and throwing her into Nightshade, who fell back into a wall Knocked out. The Knight stood, looking around at the area just as Guardian landed, "How's grundy?", "orbit. Mumbling about some Nursery rhyme", "Solomon Grundy from Gotham, Cheetah enemy to Wonder Woman, Nightshade a Sorceress, and Shiva an International Assassin. Turning up and attacking us, it doesn't make sense", "well maybe they'd tell us". Guardian said pointing to a large group of Villains coming out of the nearby woods, more appearing behind them from the steps leading up to the large building.

Guardian and The Knight stood back to back, "I'm counting Twenty, No, Thirty Five", "Forty". The Knight cracked his Knuckles as the Villains and mercs around them began charging at them.

"Awesome!" I shouted "By the way I have a new test for you, this is one you don't have to do, and I can't help you with it because I can not do it. I'm sure you've sensed the magic of others before, and I'm sure that through that magic you've felt things like an intent to attack or protect or heal or kill or ..., you get the point. Well I know there re mages who can basically convey whatever they want through their magic, people feeling it, even non mages, somehow feel like they understand exactly what that mage is trying to convey." I jumped up from the bed and walked towards the door. "So try to convey whatever you can through magic, I've been training myself to do it for the past 3 years and so far all I have managed to convey through my magic is a desire to either fight or fuck, so not so successful." I opened the door "In any case, I'm sure it's breakfast time. I'll leave it up to you how you try that magic test, or if you even want to try it.".

Sam listened to DeeDee's new test that she had for the witch in training and Sam was actually a bit surprised. It wasn't embarrassing or dangerous, though it certainly seemed challenging. Sam had felt like she was able to sense people's emotion and the small amounts of magical energy that the people around her seemed to give off. She knew this task would be hard, but she was determined to see it through. "Alright DeeDee I'll do it. And thank you for leaving it up to me. I'll try to make you proud." Sam told her teaching with determination before following her out the door as they walked toward the hotel breakfast. She noticed the others hadn't arrived yet. "I wonder where everyone else is. Well u know Hannah is probably still sleeping. She doesn't like mornings one bit." Sam said with a smile as she and DeeDee sat down at a table that would fit all of them.

Sarah, not noticing the drop in Hanah's smile, simply grinned herself and patted her younger sister's head, affectionately ruffling her hair in sheer contradiction with her previous order. "Good." She said, before turning and walking away, motioning for her and John to follow. Technically speaking, she hadn't had time to explore the hotel at all, so she didn't really know where everything was, but she still had her mind-link with her sisters, and it told her that Samantha was already seated and ready to have breakfast, while also giving her an approximate idea of where she was, in which direction, how far and other such factors. Using it to guide herself, she arrived at the table where Sam and DeeDee were rather quickly, with John and Hanah in tow.

"Morning Sam, Witch girl." She said, smiling at her sister and nodding towards DeeDee, before taking a seat. "You two are up early. Or is it that you didn't sleep at all?" She said, proving that it was never too early to tease one's younger sister about her relationships.

The whole mission had been quite tense, that was for certain, and as Kirisvala rode down the sand elevator with the others, she couldn't help feeling nervous. She knew that the team was quite powerful, especially with the addition of three new members (even if one of them was not currently there); she did not doubt that they would be able to take on anything thrown their way, but there were other things to be worried about. What if, even despite succeeding, one of them got hurt? What if one of the bad guys escaped, or if something else happened? Most importantly, would Cat and Nico be able to bear whatever it was that they would find down there? She certainly hoped so. She would hate to see her new friends broken by whatever revelation would greet them underground... or worse yet, see them swayed by the words of their parents.

Her thoughts were interrupted as they reached the bottom. She noticed that Nico seemed to be quite tired and was about to ask him if he was alright, but as soon as she noticed the myriad of strange equipment around them, her intentions vanished and she merely stared in awe. She clearly did not know much about drug trafficking, brewing, or any other activity that might apply to the ammount of equipment in front of her, but she could tell that this was a very advanced base, and she shuddered to think of how many heinous deeds must've been carried out before it could exist.

Hearing the gunshots, Kirisvala sucked in a breath and prepared to protect the team, even if it meant possibly deafening some of them momentarily, but as it turned out, that was not necessary, as Mars kept the bullets from reaching them with one of his inventions. She smiled at this, happy that someone so smart was on their side, but she couldn't allow herself to be distracted, and so, hearing him speak of a plan, she chimed in.

"I'll destroy the equipment." She said. Indeed, she was reminded of the mission in South America as well, but instead of doing what she had done back there, she would have to adopt a subtler means of disabling the facility. She could not afford to distract or perhaps even hurt her teammates with her roar, so she would be unable to use her magic blasts. Instead, she began singing, weaving one of the many spellsongs she had been taught by her family before they discarded her as a failure. The Hymn of Ruin was a powerful spell meant to let ruin rain down upon the enemy, as the name so clearly implied, and as the young Hadrian sang, lances of white fire manifested around the bubble shield and streaked through the air, tearing into the illicit equipment all around them, the pure flame soon beginning to consume it, leaving nothing behind.

"I'll, umm, I'll just pretend that I understood that." Jamie commented after receiving what she assumed to be a compliment from Marybeth, though evidently she couldn't say for sure. Either way, she simply decided not to pay it any further mind as she unpaused her game and continued the boss battle from where she had left off, at the same time listening to Marybeth's words. It was hardly any difficult for Jamie to play well while maintaining a conversation: in reality, most of her focus was still on the blonde girl, as she only needed to pay minimal attention to the game to be able to beat the final boss with relative ease. She had been a videogame buff since she was little, after all, and it also did help that she had already played that specific game several times.

"New girl? Yeah, that would be me." The black-haired girl replied, before falling silent, a thoughtful expression on her face as she mulled over Marybeth's question. "Well, the green girl, Kylie, and the lightning one, Katie, are really talkative, which puts me off a little, but they and lightning girl's girlfriend seem nice, so I don't mind them. I haven't met the other ones yet, so I have no idea what they're like, but they're probably not far from the same goody two shoes mold they all seem to be made from, so I don't feel too uncomfortable here." She said in response to the question, hoping it would suffice for the time being. She hadn't had the time to form a more informed opinion of the others after all... and she didn't particularly care to, now that her stuff had been moved over from her apartment. "Besides, as long as they let me use the TV they're all great people as far as I'm concerned." She stated. Thankfully, she wasn't looking at Marybeth, or the knife thing would've likely unnerved her.

Parahumanity
The Mad King

The two giants slammed their fists into each other, both bringing enough force to tear apart the island should their strikes have missed. In place of such destruction, a shockwave erupted from both Dapp and Shatterstar's knuckles, knocking both combatants back a few feet at most - the two hardly phased and still thirsty for more punishment from the opposing party. Despite Dapp's taunts and boasting, he was weary and injured, he held firm on his confidence even when evenly matched. Shatterstar's cool and collected demeanor was beginning to slip as well, as he grew more enraged that this unstoppable juggernaut could still stand after the blows he'd been dealt. Dapp could say the same for Shatterstar, but for people like these two, only the strong matter.

Clashing one more, this time in a series of blows, impacting both each others fists, bodies, and even heads, the two struck one another with precision and untold amounts of strength - their speed was superhuman, but minimal compared to other "fast" fighters out there. Their hits caused sonic booms that rivaled the explosions dished out by the Ultra Corps warship, and neither had any intention of giving up. It was an unspoken agreement between them: Only one being was coming out of this battle alive, Olympian or Parahuman, there was no compromise. "You know, it's kinda funny." Dapp said, being knocked back from a vicious uppercut from Shatterstar, wiping away the small drop of blood that formed on his busted lip.

"What is?" Shatterstar asked, his shirt long gone, revealing his impressive and massive musculature, one that towered above all of the Parahumans.

"We fight our hearts out, with each hit, we intend to kill. Why do we do it?" Dapp asked, launching himself at Shatterstar, driving his massive fist into the Parahuman's gut, stopping on Maddox's abdominal iron wall.

"We do it out of loyalty..." Shatterstar responded, "I do it for my King and my Country. You do it for Ultra and Daud. Nothing more, nothing less, for either of us."

"The correct answer was 'for fun', but continue." Dapp said, stepping back to dodge a return punch from Shatterstar, swinging while the Parahuman was open, but finding his fist caught unexpectedly.

"Not only that...But because we know our fight doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things." Shatterstar said, pulling Dapp's massive fist forward, headbutting the Olympian with continent-shattering force, stumbling the behemoth back several steps. Shatterstar stopped for a moment, a trail of blood leaking from his forehead where he slammed it into Dapp, breathing heavily. Their scene was one of ruins, nothing but destroyed buildings all around, a mount of rubble, nothing more, due to their combined destructive force. Maddox approached Dapp, slowly, but with intent, while Dapp began to laugh.

"Haha...You're goddamn right. We're both just the loyal subjects. The sidekick, right hand man, of great men. Their battle is the one that decides things. Should I win, Morningstar will eliminate me. Should you win, Daud will do the same to you. The fighting in the streets, the air, even the seas, it matters so utterly little to the outcome." Dapp rose to his feet from the crater he had made when he was thrown back, "Daud will finish the job or Maxwell will - there is no other option. But even if I go down, I want to go down knowing I beat you." Dapp said, charging forward, tackling Shatterstar, dragging him along the rubble that littered the ground and creating a massive trench. "This is our fight, Shatterstar, enjoy it! Revel in it!"

"I am many things, Daud," Mad Max said, "You couldn't begin to imagine half of them." The Mad King advanced towards the Agent of Ultra, flares of his absorbed energy surrounding his hands as he made strides, a look of deadly intent fixed onto his eyes. "But for now, I will take the role of executioner." Raising one of his hands, Max fired a torrent of energy at Daud's general direction, vaporizing all in it's path and it's immediate surroundings, the blast passing through buildings, leaving a gaping hole in it's wake.

"Good lord, man." Daud declared, off to the side of the trail of super-charged plasma, watching the smoke rise from the burning of everything to the molecular level. "You're going to lay waste to your own city for the sake of winning?" Daud took a step back, dodging an ill-timed rush attack by Max, who intended to punch the metahuman unexpectedly, but failed to do so. "Woah there!"

"Civilian have been evacuated in the outskirts to the countryside. The inner city population is well-protected in the Mad City Catacombs, and my subterranean fortress." Max said solemnly, launching a fury of attacks at Daud, the Ultra Corpsman swiftly dodging them, ducking and weaving around the kicks and punches with fluidity. With each punch, Max would give off a surge of his energy, along with his body attempting to latch onto and absorb Daud's energy.

"So you're tell me..." Daud said, jumping back to avoid a straight punch, "That we can go all out?"

"I thought we agreed beforehand to turn things up a notch?" Max inquired, throwing another punch at Daud. This time, though, the commander didn't move, much to Max's surprise, he even caught the thrown punch. Max turned his head up slightly, intrigued at this development. Suddenly, Max felt a freight train smash into his abdomen, lifting him up into the air, and then another smash right on the side of his face, sending him flying backwards, smashing through several buildings along the way, and even causing some to collapse from the impact.

"I know, I was just making sure the only person I was hurting is you." Max leaned up from the rubble he was laying in, the place where he stopped from the strike, a stern look on his face. Daud was making his way over slowly, nonchalantly, like it was just a stroll in the park as Max rose to his feet and dusted his armor off. "Now that's a look of determination!" Daud said, laughing a bit, but turning his own face into a serious expression as well. "Fine then, let's do this." Daud shot forward with unimaginable speed, the result of having to adapt so many times against faster opponents, he laid a few punches into Mad Max's body, but with each hit, Daud could feel himself losing energy.

Max simply stood there, tanking the jabs, and absorbing the kinetic energy that flowed through them, adding it to his immense reserves. Daud sensed that this tactic wasn't working at all, so backed off, and put some distance between himself and Max. Daud stared at the King for a long while, racking his brain to figure out just how he could overcome Morningstar's absolute defense. Daud smirked as he figured it out, realizing that Mad Max wasn't the only one with an absolute defense, that Daud just needed to get his hands dirty. "Scared, Daud? Of my Morningstar Equation?"

"Yes." He answered quickly and without hesitation, making Max smirk a bit, containing laughter. "But not so much any more. It's impressive, I'll give you that, anyone else would be defeated in no time. Your power is overwhelming, and I can do is try my best." Daud said, walking forward, intending to meet Maxwell, the Mad King walking towards Daud as well, meeting him the middle with some space between them. "My energy is drawn to you even at a distance." Daud commented, tightening his fist, "But that won't stop me." Curling that fist, he slammed it into Max's abdomen, doing virtually no damage, repeatedly striking Max's face and body with a flurry of fast kicks.

Max quickly returned the exchange, punching Daud square in the chest, draining a significant part of his energy, and then unleashing a brutal combination of strikes, each one taking another sliver of the commander's energy reserves, tiring him, making Daud weaker with each contact, no matter if the hit actually landed or was blocked. With each hit, Max sent Daud back further and further, the metahuman struggling to keep up as Max's energy reserves grew and grew while Daud's steadily depleted. "You've come to my homeland, Daud, and you've brought war to her streets." Max said, growing in anger as he funneled his fury into Daud's body.

As the hits pounded away at Daud, his body steadily began to change. Accommodating, almost mutating on a cellular level, to ensure survival. Daud smirked as he started to black out, Max's furious and repeated strikes causing him to slip in and out of consciousness. Daud's own armor was torn away by the hits, their metallic bonds broken by the constant drain of energy they were forced to endure. Any other man would be dead by now, but just one uncanny ability that made Daud nearly unkillable, was starting to take effect. Max reared back and threw a closed fist, as he had been for an unadulterated couple of minutes, landing on Daud's open stomach region. Except, rather than send the poor bastard reeling back and draining him, Max felt...Nothing, and Daud just stood there. Confused, Max reared back to take another swing, but was suddenly rushed by Daud.

Wrapping his arms around Max's waistline, Daud picked up the Mad King and slammed him directly into the ground. "How?!" Max demanded, Daud giving his exposed face a firm headbutt. "How are you still alive?!"

Daud grabbed Max by the neck, twisting slightly on his heel and flinging him across the city-turned-battlefield, smashing up and down the street as he went. Daud looked up and gave a smirk, "I'm pretty hard to kill, I'll admit." Daud said a bit weakly, trying to return to his energy-filled self. "But you didn't account on one thing. You thought, Mad King, that I couldn't adapt to having my energy absorbed, stripped, and drained away. I didn't know if I could either, to tell you the truth. I gambled, Max." He started to walk over to where Max was laying, absorbing energy from the ground to put more in himself to fight, "And I won."

Delivering a swift soccer kick to the teeth, Daud sent Max's body spinning off to the side, and still had enough in him to jump and punch the King right in the kidney region, causing Max to recoil from that impact as well. His armor was crumbling, Max struggling to get up as he poured reserves of his energy into healing himself. The Mad King grabbed at his side with one hand and used the other to feel his mouth, spitting briefly, and showering the ground with blood and teeth fragments. Max looked up for a briefly moment, as his head was grabbed by Daud, who lifted it up, and slammed it hard into the concrete below, shattering it all directions.

He lifted Max by the head once more and flung the King against a building, shattering it's entire front side, and causing it to collapse in and on top of the Parahuman King. Daud stood back as the dust cleared, watching as Mad Max slowly, and with obvious pain, rose to his feet from the rubble, his armor torn apart in a myriad of places and exposing the black mesh underneath, and in some parts, even revealing his skin. He gasped for air, dropping down to his knees as he strained himself just standing up. Daud walked over to him casually, without remorse. "You almost had me, Maxwell. You were closer than anyone else. I was at the gates, but my body pulled me back. I died back there, but my body refused to accept it."

Suddenly, and without warning, the mighty warship that Daud had brought over Madworld, the one that ravaged Mad City and reduced much of her buildings to rubble, exploded overhead. Daud turned to look, grimly watching as the front half tilted directly over his position. Daud refused to leave, needing to ensure he had finished his business with Mad Max, but he had so little time. The Ultra Corpsman was about to grab Max and end their battle, but before Daud could get his hand around the nape of the Mad King's neck, he vanished, simply gone. Daud reared back in shock, wasting a precious second, and looking up right as the bow of the warship collided into him, and the rest of the ruined cityscape.

Exploding outward, the vessel toppled everything standing in Mad City, leaving nothing but an apocalyptic wasteland in it's place, strewn with rubble and pieces of buildings that once stood high. Daud groaned as he rose from a pile of ashes and dust, looking up at the new scenery, hardly even mourning the loss of his vessel or it's crew, intent on finding Max. One building stood in the face of such an event, though ruined and destroyed, it was still recognizable as King Morningstar's metropolitan palace. Staggering to his feet, Daud began his walk to the doors.

Maxwell stumbled and nearly fell, collapsing onto his throne a body and broken mess, breathing heavily as he struggled to find air, or even to heal himself properly. Civilians, not nurses or medical professionals, came to his side - they had taken up shelter in the palace as instructed - and they began to treat his wounds, taking off the ruined pieces of his armor, cleaning and dressing his wounds as well. As they did, the doors leading outside were thrown open, the gasping and barely walking Daud the visitor, Maxwell narrowing his eyes at he Commander, preparing to fight once more.

To the shock of both men, the Parahumans stood between them, blocking Daud from confronting Max, and Max's aids treating his wounds, ensuring he didn't leave the throne. Max leaned back in his chair, slow closing his wounds, but fully fixing his jaw and teeth from the kick, surprisingly. The citizens cared for him, surprisingly Daud, who believed Max was a reviled and hated monarch. The Mad King spoke, softly, slightly weak, but with a powerful message: "I am many things, Daud, but here, I am God."

Guardian/Knight - Nemesis Objective Part 4

Postby Confederation of imperial states » Thu Jan 14, 2016 7:42 am

Bellanus offices, Virginia

2:30am

The Knight and Guardian stood back to back as the forty or so Villains and Mercs charged at them, "Now!" The Knight yelled as he threw down a flashbang catching the ones around them off guard. Guardian took one one half while The Knight took on the other, Guardian quickly went toe - toe with Gorilla Grod, resisting his mental Attacks and punching him into submission. Guardian was blasted in the back by the Greedy Orange Lantern "Larfleeze", He used his wrists to block the energy blast as he zoomed right up to Larfleeze, smacking him across both sides of the face with them and countering the energy right back at him. Kingshark grabbed Guardian from behind, putting him into a lock whilst the Villain Killer Frost blasts him with Ice. Guardian quickly kicked King Shark in the stomach, reeling him forwards, then tossing him right into the path of Killer Frost's Ice freezing half of him. Guardian flew over Kingshark and crashed right into Killer frost, knocking her unconcious.

The Knight flipped over the flashbang, landing on the same villain from Knighthunt, Firefly. "Well Knight, seems you won't be leaving this time, HAHAHAHAHA" Firefly cackled as he threw off The Knight and blasted him with fire. The Knight rolled to the right behind some rubble, he threw a small EMP charge at Firefly incapacitating his Equipment and making him fall straight to the ground. The Knight wasn't done yet, as Bane lifted up the Rubble he was behind and slammed it down at him, The Knight rolled under Bane's legs and jumped onto his back, The Knight used the hooked edges on his gauntlets to cut Bane's Venom tubes, and stop his flow of Venom. The Knight dropped to the ground, right as he quickly took out his sword and locked blades with a familiar sword. The Knight locked eyes with his Opponent, Deathstroke the Terminator, "Isn't it my Old Opponent from Chicago, I like the new armor, though it won't save you". "I doubt it slade" The Knight said as Slade started hitting The Knight with an array of quick and deftly swings. The Knight did his best to counter the swings, using his gauntlets and his sword, however Slade was more aggressive this time. The Knight set off a Flashbang, catching slade off guard, The Knight tripped him, but right before The Knight could do anything, a few pot shots hit the armor on his back.

Guardian Continued to take down the Villains and Mercs, swing one into another, taking down the more durable ones personally, but then, Giganta nearly stomped on Guardian with her foot. Guardian looked up at her, an Incredibly Giant Female as she threw a punch down, Guardian dodged it but her punch sent many of the other villains to be tossed around. "Oh Come On" Guardian said as he flew straight up at her, Guardian punched Giganta with both fists straight in the jaw, sending her toppling back onto the clearing unconscious. Guardian took a breath, seeing as the majority of his foes were either taken down or now fleeing, Guardian spotted The Knight, deflecting and blocking bullets from none other than Deadshot on one side, and fighting Deathstroke on the other. "Heads Up!" Guardian said as he grabbed a lamppost nearby and tossed it at them.

The Knight quickly heard guardian and flipped over the lamppost, Deathstroke and Deadshot however were caught off guard and knocked off their feet. The Knight quickly broke Deadshot's arm gun and punched him across the face, knocking him out cold. The Knight walked over to Deathstroke, Slade caught the first punch, The Knight then kneed him in the jaw and punched him out with his free hand. The Knight audibly took a breath as he looked around, Guardian landed next to him. "That was eventful", The Knight nodded in agreement, The Knight accessed his earpiece, "Sanza, Radio the nearest Virginia Police force....." The Knight peered over at Giganta, "and tell them They'll need a Crane as well", [Of course Sir]. The Knight turned to Guardian, "we need to get to Metropolis", The Knight pressed a button, and The Knight's VTOL arrived above him oddly fast, The Knight grappled up and flew off, with Guardian flying alongside him.

It was a relatively quiet flight back home. Xander thought nothing of it and was just happy to be back home. "How was it for you?" He asked as he sat down on his bed. "I thought the trip was quite enjoyable. The ending was a bit rough, but I enjoyed it regardless." Naja walked up to him looking slightly annoyed. "Are you okay? Is there something you want to talk about? Your expression says-"

"The trip was great." She admitted. "Even as I was going to be sold into slavery, I was having fun. It's just... Why are you so agreeable?!" She demanded. "You're always willing to go along with whatever I ask... Most of the time."

"I... What? Naja, I do the things you ask me to, because I love you. If I'm not mistaken, marriage is intended to be an equal partnership. Enjoy it or not, your wants mean just as much as mine."

"And that's so sweet of you. It really is. I'm sorry, I'm just being crazy." She apologized and sat down next to him. "You really don't have anything more to say about the chain thing? Because I'm thinking about... Other stuff."

"Not really. As long as you're doing it of your own volition, I don't mind. I do think it's a bit strange that someone would intentionally want to be restrained like that, but if you find it enjoyable, then by all means." He replied.

"Don't knock it 'til you try it." She teased. "Come on. Let's have some fun. It's really not that bad... Besides, we were supposed to have some sexy time while we were away..." Xander conceded. He was in the mood anyways, so why not?

However, just as things were about to get underway, the ground shook and they hadn't even done anything yet. "What the hell?" Xander muttered and stood back up when the roof exploded with Alex floating above them wearing a new suit of armor. "Oh... Fuck." Xander was under the impression that Otis had killed him, or at the very least, he died when the universe they were fighting in did. He wasted no time, switching on the Starbrand and smashing into his evil counterpart. "And I was in such a good mood too!" He hissed at Alex and hit him with an uppercut which sent him into the sky. "You couldn't wait another hour, could you?!" He demanded firing a bright blast

Alex narrowly dodged the blast, and tried to kick Xander in the face, only to have hit foot caught. "Relax... I saved you from putting your dick in that thing. You should be thanking-" He was interrupted by Xander slamming both of his hands onto his head, smashing it to bits.

"That thing is my wife." Xander hissed as Alex dropped for a second or so before his head regenerated. He charged at Alex only to feel strange. It was almost like he was being tickled. At least until he started melting. His bones felt like rubber and his body was given the appearance of ooze.

"Wait... You still haven't figured out that much of your powers? Holy shit, this is gonna be a piece of cake. This universe is mine! ALL MINE!"

Meanwhile on Apokolips. Wyatt was watching as Xander returned home, only for him to be attacked by Alex. He would have been more than happy to just let Alex kill Xander and be done with it, at least until Alex started yapping about the fact that the universe was his. Which he certainly wasn't going to stand for. That was his universe. And he sure as hell wasn't going to let some blue skinned psycho take his property. "Hairy! Scrawny! We're going on a trip! Change of plans! We've got an idiot that needs his balls torn off!"

The Fangs
Earth
Luna, Drop and Jylt

"Whatever, let's get what we need and get out of here, I'm taking charge because there's only 4 people smart enough to do something beneficial here and that's all of the mees. I'll get us off this planet before you know it so we can blow something up that's actually worth blowing up." Thank God Drop is so easy-going and Jylt just follows her around, I lose enough time arguing with myself as it is, and myself is really the only person capable of arguing on my own level, if only I didn't have to be so bitchy about it, unless it's the wimpy me, God I hate wimps. "So where we headed then miss Luna? It's all pretty and new, ooh, and the pink creatures here come in so many different shapes and sizes, it's adorable. Ooh, some of them even resemble you Luna, maybe you're related!" There were a lot of these beings in similar clothing, change the clothing and some small parts of their pink skin and they could be Luna's!

"What!? I'm not related to this imbecilic race, their resemblance is just a random coincidence, I'd tell you the odds of running in to a similar race but I doubt you'd understand half the things I'd be saying, Jylt stands a better chance of understanding than you.", "Don't be so mean to them they're my friends.", "Nobody asked me Luna, for a wimp I do way to much talking against myself, Surely I should know I'm not in the mood for things like that so be quiet and let me do my job. Talking about my job, that building should do." Looking at a giant building with giant letters on it forming Lexcorp seemed more advanced than anything else here, not that that was saying much. "Jylt, dig us a tunnel inside, do it from a spot nobody seems to be looking, I'll use whatever archaic technology they have in their basement to get all the information. And Drop, don't wander off, I don't want to be looking for a sentient puddle wile I'm busy." Without hesitation Jylt began digging a tunnel in an ally where nobody seemed to be directly in to the Lexcorp basement where a lot of servers were standing. "Ugh, ancient technology, I'll have to upgrade it before I can actually use it."

In mere moments I vastly increased the power and capabilities of these ancient things, now all to do is to access every bit of information this planet has, shouldn't be hard the information is already flowing in, ..., wow this planet is perverted.

Sam saw Sarah, John, and Hannah arrive at the breakfast table and waved to them as they sat down. "Hey guys, where's Roy?" Sam asked curiously, before hearing Sarah question and being unable to prevent a blush from spreading across her cheeks. "Well, DeeDee sent me on a training mission. I didn't get back until a few hours ago." Sam told truthfully before she was luckily saved from clarifying further when the waitress came over to take their orders. Sam ordered some pancakes and John ordered an omelet. Sam stilled wondered where her sister's friend might be.

Roy had woken up early as he often did and went to the hotel's small gym to workout in the morning as was his routine. The gym didn't have much, but Roy made use of the weights they did have, and spent much of his time doing push ups, squats, sit ups, and other exercises that did not require too much equipment. Working out always helped him clear his mind and relax, which he felt he needed that morning. He still wasn't sure what to think about his conversation with Hannah. He felt like they both had feelings for each other, but had no idea how to move things forward. He went on a run outside the streets of the hotel before finally returning to his room to take a shower. After he had gotten dressed he realized he was going to be late for breakfast and headed there as soon as he could, finally arriving at the table where the others were sitting already. "Sorry I'm late." He said, blushing a little bit as he moved slowly to sit next to Hannah, hoping the others wouldn't notice.

DeeDee

"Yes, training, I kept her up all night in a hot and sweaty situation to test her endurance and creativity, she complained at the start, but considering it was her first time in such a situation, I promised to be gentle." A large devious smile was showing on my expression, I couldn't help but teasing Sam at every possible chance I'd get, and considering her sister seemingly liked to do the same thing, this was just to perfect not to tease. When the waitress came I really didn't know what to order, since I decided to stay in my demon form I simply realized I had no appetite whatsoever, in my human form I still had an appetite, I sensed I didn't need the food as much as I used to but I still craved for the sensation. Right now that's gone, but I know Demons like to eat, at least the ones in my realm hunt and eat on a regular basis. Maybe I should learn more about my physiology at some point soon. Best to learn about it before running in to awkward or even dangerous surprises.

Maybe I should ask the succubi in my realm, that said they do tend to feed off sexual energy more than actual food, but I have seen them eat before. Whatever, questions for later. I simply ordered the same thing as Sam, even if I'm not hungry I might as well simply try to eat something. As usual my tail started wrapping itself around Sam's leg, with the only difference being that it was actually twice as long now that I was still in full demon mode and a lot stronger.

The gang members were thrown into disarray as a storm came impossibly upon them and their equipment began to explode around them. A number of men approached the bubble shield with rocket launchers, realizing that Kiris was the cause of the destruction and aimed to bring the source to a quick end. They began to fire on the shield which caused the machine generating it to strain and whir. To make matters worse, an incredibly large man came approaching with a large machine gun blasting bullets toward the shield at high speeds. "It won't be able to hold much longer!" Mars shouted, they were pinned, down and needed to do something about it.

Nico spoke up and turned to Cat, Vera, and Xyri, "Come on, we need to help the others!" He shouted, jumping out of the force-field and creating giant fists of sand to swing at the enemy soldiers, hoping the others would follow suit. He couldn't help but look over his shoulder as he fought, his eyes searching for any signs of his parents, but it seemed that they hadn't been drawn out yet. He didn't know if he wanted to see them there or not. He wanted closure, to know the truth, but he was starting to realize how much that truth would hurt when he faced it.

Marcus sighed as he sat back into his deckchair, sipping an ice-cold vodka martini he'd just grabbed in Moscow. He put his legs up on the plastic table in front of him, and smiled to himself as he basked in the hot sun. His house was really nothing more than a small shack of bleached wood, simple and a little run down, but Marcus was a man of simple pleasures. This little house was perfect. It was far enough from any major cities to mean there was never anybody to bother him, he had a little generator to keep the electricity going and he even had a little side-garage for his motorcycle. Even though he could go literally anywhere, Marcus always found himself back here. There was just something so peaceful about the place. It was sacred, distanced from his job... Nobody could find him here. Marcus sipped his martini again. This was good vodka.

Nothing could ruin this moment.

Jump Man

"Oh Rip, what the hell did you get yourself into..." The young man said, nervously wiping away a forehead full of sweat on the sleeve of his arm. His eyes scanned the endless desert wastes, "C'mon...You're either gonna pop up behind me or right below me, just get it over with...The waiting is the worst part." He continued, obviously talking to himself as no one else was with him, or even near him in the Mojave. Known as Jump Man, Rip Valentine was a heroic vigilante in every sense of the word, but sometimes, he bites off a little more than he can chew.

A rumble below his feet gave Rip all of four milliseconds to react, bending his knees and jumping upward, high in the sky, right against the scorching desert sun. Glancing below, Rip stared into the gaping maw of a worm-like beast that roamed the desert, exactly like that movie Tremors, except enough to scare the piss out of a wayward Parahuman do-gooder. It emerged from the ground below, towering in appearance, the beast and Jump Man had been playing cat and mouse for most of the day. "Oh fuck me right in the asshole..." Rip exclaimed, reaching the peak of his jump, and starting his fall into the waiting mouth of the desert worm.

By some sick moves and a miracle of air currents, Jump Man managed to land one of his legs on the worm's rows of teeth, pushing himself off of it with tremendous force, propelling himself away from the worm, and sending the beast in the opposite direction of Rip, knocking that tooth out in the process. "Note to self, never accept bizarre requests...That involve fighting death worms in the Mojave Desert. This hardly even has sand!" Rip protested, landing some ways away, watching as the immense body of the worm sank back into the ground. "How the hell does it even move..."

Without warning, the beast appeared behind Rip, emerging from the ground, and aiming right for him. No time for snarky self-banter, and only enough time to start hopping away, Rip did just that - Jumping in a sprinting motion, ridiculously fast across the semi-desert, glancing back now and again to see the worm in hot pursuit. "Think, Rip, think...How am I gonna beat this thing?" He wondered aloud, a small white shack visible in the distance. "Hmm." Rip hummed, getting an idea, "I doubt houses are tasty, let's see if I can't give you the worst indigestion of your life...

"What the-" Rip shouted, skidding to a stop from his last jump, noticing a person just sitting at a patio table - in the middle of the uninhabited desert in bumfuck nowhere, Nevada. He threw up a cloud of sandy dust as he stopped, and apologized profusely. "Um, uh, hi, I suppose - Sorry about the dust." He said nervously, not remembering that he had a twelve ton desert monster chasing him...Until he did just that. "Oh...Oh fuck, is this your house?!" Rip yelled, turning away from the stranger, gazing at the stampeding beast heading right for the two.

Parahumanity
The End of Ultra

In the days following, the organization known as the Ultra Corps ceased to be - their headquarters destroyed, their international chapters demolished, their sizable military assets and personnel - all systematically eliminated following the capture of their leader, Daud, as he and his core group of soldiers failed to successful invade and subdue the Parahumans on Madworld. Clad in a brace that encased his hands all the way up to his forearms, with a matching set on his legs, Daud stood before a panel of beings, his face stern, and emotions bare. He hadn't faced torture or any act like it, he was a prisoner of war, and the war was over.

"Daud of Ultra," The familiar voice of Mad Max said, speaking highly and above the enemy commander, "You're brought before this tribunal as a criminal, a war-monger, and a terrorist." The panel consisted of the entire cast of the Godbreakers, even the more obscure members, like Mir and Ashy, but their roles were purely ceremonial - as was everyone else's save for Max. "But, before you leave, you will be expunged of such offenses." The air was still, the Godbreakers having discussed what to do about Daud since the moment he was captured. Daud nodded, accepting his plea bargain.

"You and a few select members of Ultra are granted amnesty for the conflict henceforth known as the Ultra War, in exchange for your surrender, and aiding our Kingdom in hunting down the remnants of the Corps. I understand that we have both been lied to, manipulated by an outside force, one that wanted to drag us both down to the gates of hell and see which man stood the tallest." Max explained, recounting the machinations of Victor von Doom in orchestrating the Ultra War. "Doom shall one day pay, but we must rebuild and move on with our lives - that is how we shall spite him. I understand, Daud, that you too long for revenge, no?"

Stern and unmoving, Daud answered. "More than anything, I'd love to crush that metal face beneath my heel." He said quietly, lowering his eyes to stare intently at Max, recalling their private conversations. "I used the resources at my disposal to jump-start the rebuilding process for Mad City, so whatever I may plan to do to Victor, will take some time." Looking at the other members of the Godbreakers, Daud was met with apathy, some with scorn, even hatred, but he did not falter. Daud was too strong to let the harsh looks of others put him down.

"Then, it is my will that you may reform the Ultra Corps." Max said, Daud raising his chin slightly, some members of Godbreaker looking away from both their King and their prisoner. "A world without Ultra is already being seen on a global scale - a power vacuum has formed, and the nations of the globe seek to either fill it, or hire someone who can. We did not understand the full consequences of bringing down the Corps, but that's hindsight, we must move forward, and a step in the right direction is Ultra."

"You may reform the Corps and base it in Mad City, but it will be under your sole command, no outside influences, no buy-outs from higher parties, no mercenary work. You will be funded by my personal accounts and by our national coffers. The Corps will not be an organization, but a team of heroes - kept small and manageable by yourself. Do you understand the responsibility I give to you?" Max asked, leaning forward in his chair, his helmet obscuring whatever look he had to his face.

"I do, and I thank you." Daud replied. "What promises I make now may seem frivolous, but I shall start Ultra with the rebuilding effort before registering with the United Nations."

"You do not have to register." Max said bluntly.

"Excuse me?"

"Madworld and Parahumanity is not liable to the United States Government or the United Nations Security Council, we do not have a registration act. You can operate as free agents, civil and personal liberties are a right in my country." He leaned back, remembering the foreign news stories about the 'Mad King of Madworld Refuses Registration', or some spin on those words, where verbal attacks were common, and the ongoing war in the nation underplaying by it's non-aligned stance. Maxwell sighed, knowing more hardships would come, but he would stick to his principles regardless. "We are who we are, and we use our powers for good. To us, they aren't even powers, they are the norm."

With the push of a button, the chains on Daud were released, dropping to the floor with a loud clank, the metahuman rubbing his wrists for the first time in days. "I see, King Morningstar. It is a noble gesture, but I will be ready to defend your lands should others with...Less noble gestures...Try and force your hand in a different direction. They tried once before with my Corps, as you know, but there must be a stand to take if the world needs to know Madworld is not weakened."

Maxwell thought for a moment, looking a his Godbreakers and then to Daud. "We have prepared for such an event, and we will reveal our strength without waste." He said, rising from his chair, giving Daud a last look, one of normalcy instead of with a passionate emotion like anger or fear - "We are dismissed, and you are free to go."

"A war criminal goes free..." Shatterstar said, raising his monumental body from his seat and exiting promptly, walking past Mad Max without a word.

It was only shortly after that a press conference was gathered, many newscasters and reporters from around the globe present to listen to the Mad King, who promised a sensational headline and an important announcement for the Kingdom. Against the backdrop of a major construction project, Maxwell stood in his armor, helmet still on naturally, cameras and microphones pointed in his direction. Clearing his throat, he began.

"It is with a heavy hand and a steady train of thought that I unveil the new initiative for Madworld and her Parahuman inhabitants." He said, using that code word 'initiative' that other countries used to refer to their superhuman registries, "One that will affect her history for decades to come and allow her to enter the modern world with dignity and respect. To that end, Madworld will be opening her sea ports to migration from people affected by the global superhuman registry acts." The reports gasped and rabbled, writing down the intense reveal from the reclusive, former isolationist nation of near-humans.

Maxwell continued. "It is in our interest and the interests of many that one can live without the need for government oversight, that a name is a name, and what man does in his free time is his own business. In Madworld, you do not need to be empowered, you do not need to be a superhero, you can be yourself and be among comrades. Our nature is to push away the outside world, but we have developed as a nation to the point that we may share our culture with our fellow man. A difference in genetics makes you no different than I - We all have gifts, and it's what we do with them that define us."

"Madworld is in dire need of managers, laborers, skilled workers, and everything you can imagine, we need it. We will welcome you, you will have a home here, a plate to eat, a place to sleep and to be safe with you and your family. You may contact our Migrant Council through our embassies, both physical and on the web, and we will arrange travel. To those who will take me up on this offer, I have but one thing to say to you, from my own lips and the lips of Parahumans everywhere..."

"...Welcome to Madworld."

Manifest breathed deeply. Across his back, the Infinite laid sheathed, and behind him, his armour floated. Before him, the Manifest Blade floated, the hilt facing upwards as though it was to be impaled into the metallic ground, far beneath Manifest's form. Around him, this room of the Universal Fortress was different from the rest- Its walls were imbued with incredibly rare, incredibly energy resistant materials, along with energy absorbing technology from a variety of space-faring races. His form, meditating in the centre of the silver room, slowly waved his hand upward, his eyes still closed. Around him, the vast entrances rapidly closed. His hand returned to its previous position, and his eyes opened.

The previously dimly lit, silver room was illuminated, every facet of every wall cloaked in a crimson as deep as the blood in a mortal's veins. He rose from his sitting position, one arm outstretched towards the blade and the other at his side, open palmed towards it. The Blade itself began to resonate with him, reddish particles slowly exuding from its centre towards his outstretched hand. He slowly floated forward, otherwise completely still. As he came closer, more of the strange particles came out, until the entire blade was sending them out. As they reached his palm, they were absorbed by his skin. At the same time, the Blade began to vanish, its very essence travelling along with the particles.

After almost a minute, Manifest clenched his fist around the area where the Manifest Blade used to be. In his hand, he now held a small piece of its hilt- And even that was rapidly disappearing. As the last of the Blade was absorbed into its wielder's skin, a shockwave erupted from his body, blasting away at the walls. The entire Universal Fortress shook subtly. Then, another, though slightly weaker. Again and again, raw power erupted from his body, enough to destroy stars and planets in a single moment. Eventually, he closed his eyes, and the last of the shockwaves dissipated, no stronger than a flea. Manifest opened his eyes once more, and they returned to normal. Their crimson glow, though bright, was no longer strong enough to fill the entire room. He summoned the Manifest Blade to his hand, staring at it.

I was right. This is more than just a weapon. This is something... Primal. Something more powerful than I even imagined. He extended his arm, swinging the sword expertly. I wield... power. Raw power. There is... Nothing that can defeat me.

Around him, the walls of the specially reinforced room cracked slightly, shards of vibranium and adamantium falling soundlessly across the vast distance. He closed his eyes, sensing his strength course through his veins. I will save this Universe from itself.

Kazuko Masaki, God of Nature | Asumar Masaki, God of Constructs | Master Shimura, God of Peace

Shimura stood atop the walls that Asumar had constructed around the Masaki Compound, his arms crossed and his eyes remaining shut as he meditated, wanting to bring his body and soul back into balance once more, his battle against Alex shook him thoroughly, there may have been no difference on the outside of him, but as the God of Peace, he was never supposed to have let Kazuko be grievously injured like that, Shimura didn't want his surrogate children to die, he may have been something of their Surrogate Father, but Shimura raised them from the time that they were babies, he had a special bond with them that he could not explain himself, but he knew that it was something of a Father-Son Connection, Shimura could sense at any moment, when either Asumar or Kazuko were in trouble and he would always respond to that subconscious call he always received. His eyes calmly opened as he could sense the arrival of someone who was not even supposed to be within this Universe "Alex has returned..." Shimura openly, and calmly stated, it was as if this situation was not his concern. As a matter of fact, he wasn't even concerned with this, Xander had the Starbrand, so he could just as easily lay into Alex and kill him, Shimura had no right to be involved in this situation, and he would not involve himself in it "I'll leave it to you Xander." Shimura inwardly replied.

"So..." Shimura turned his head, Asumar standing alongside his surrogate father "I managed to break through Kazuko's weakened mental shield and I know that what caused his injuries, It is the same energy signature I'm feeling now, right?" Shimura silently, nodded, hearing Asumar letting out an annoyed sigh "I figured as much..." Asumar sat alongside Shimura with a calm expression on his face, usually Asumar would want to jump right into the battle and take on a new challenge, but Asumar was taking his fatherly role seriously now, he could not let anything happen to Ryuichi, as Asumar had a duty to protect his son, and considering that Kazuko was still being healed, Asumar also had to protect his Brother "You know that In his current condition, I would never let Kazuko try to face off against Alex, and due to the fact that Alex can call upon the energy of this universe, all of us would be cut down without the slightest bit of hesitation." Asumar chuckled, although he knew for a fact that this wasn't a laughing matter "We aren't joining any conflict unless it directly threatens us."

"Exactly like I wanted it to happen." Shimura cut in with a relaxed smile on his face "We shouldn't get involved in things that we have no place in, thinking like that will keep us alive." Shimura turned to Asumar, who had his eyes closed and lied down on the thick wall, the snow trickling around him. Asumar looked very much content with what he already had, something that Shimura never saw in Asumar in his life, he was finally settling down after such a lengthy time. Shimura was happy to see this sight before him, he now had confidence that Asumar would live on and not distract himself with petty grudges, as it got him killed once, but that was a story for another day, Shimura supposed "I might as well be happy about this and not concern myself with the dark things in life." Shimura reasoned.

Damian Ocult Jaxon Aredia Jerimiah Carbio Velicia Other(computer, alien, Etc)

Jerimiah pushed down on the controls, his craft dipped down into the planets atmosphere, he cut through like butter past the outer shell. He leveled out quickly and flew parallel with the ground, he lowered his nose as he saw the landing strip for his destination. He switched his landing gear on and began the landing sequence, pulling closer and closer to the ground. As the wheels touched down, the engines died suddenly letting the ship slow to a halt.

Jerimiah turned his seat around to face his Rig, only to watch it rise up stuck to the hatch as it opened. Time to face the new world i guess...

He stood up and started down the short ladder, as he stepped on the ground his boot sunk into the red soil for a moment before flattening out, giving a jello like feel to his legs.

Alright only a little disconcerting.

He watched the ground jiggle a little as a large bull like humanoid started to come closer.

You are the human we were told to arrive. You are searching for an apprentice yes? The tauran spoke in a deep gruff voice

That is correct. Jemiah said simply, the mask letting his voice fall easier on the taurans ears.

For a craft such as invention, What skill are required? the tauran asked almost hopefully.

To be an inventor one must hold great ingenuity, imagination and intelligence. To be my apprentice however, one is required to be loyal, honest, and ready to die for a cause.

The taurian laughed booming for nearly a minute before answering, If you are looking for some one of such skills and traits, You have left yourself in a dilema searching on Taur. Any who hold such loyalty would never dare betray the Tarian Code.

What of one whom feels does not belong? One who is considered outcast, Surely under the right cause one could find their loyalty, for those whom may be loyal to them

The taurian stopped his laughing, His smile had left his face.

I see, It is those that you seek. Then i warn you beware, for those of the outcasts are common in this city, but they may not be those that you seek.

Jerimiah only nodded, before taking his first step towards the city, his craft already sealed from invasion. As he neared the city, he watched as vendor of various crafts worked raw metals into beautiful or powerful crafts. As he came closer to the center of the city he saw the softer metals becoming less common, replaced by numerous complex clockwork machines, and the occasional steam powered machine caught his glance. As he found the very center he entered into an Inn. I would like a room please? He spoke to the young taurian female with dark golden fur working at the desk.

how long will you be staying? The taurian asked in an oddly smooth voice.

I am unsure of the extent of my stay, it may take up to a few months.

Any particular room you would like to stay?

Preferably one closer to the ground floor.

The girl smiled slightly as he handed him a key. He returned the smile quickly, glad no payment is required, taurians being mostly lack of any form of economy. He quickly made his way to his room, locking the door behind him before looking around for a moment. The walls were dull grey, a single window aimed to the main trade center. He fell backwards on the white feather filled matress on the floor and closed his eyes, The search begins.

Damian layed perfectly still, his eyes shut as his fingers gave a little twitch. The computer counted down silently the hours remaining before we will be allowed another stretch of episodes.

Jaxon and Valicia sat together at the table sitting across from one another, eating a delicious ramen meal when Jaxon spoke up suddenly.

We should have taken a smaller ship... We would be there by now...

Yes we would have, but this way we have more time to ourselves.

Of course my dear, But this trip is beginning to grate on my nerves. There is no sun, and thus no night to moon of which to call out your name.

Are the stars not enough to witness our love?

As they continued their viscious lovey dovey bull shit, the onboard AI was wishing she had a forehead to bash against the console...

Why Jerimiah, Why did you stick me in here with these two!! She screamed out curses to herself.

New Neros wrote:"What the-" Rip shouted, skidding to a stop from his last jump, noticing a person just sitting at a patio table - in the middle of the uninhabited desert in bumfuck nowhere, Nevada.

Marcus cursed as he was covered in dust. He threw down his ruined Martini angrily and furiously scrubbed at his leather jacket as the dust cleared, revealing a strange figure running towards him. "Who the hell are- Yeah, this is my house, now what the-" Marcus noticed the giant worm charging towards his shack. He let out a small confused whimper before teleporting inside the house to grab his safe, teleporting back and throwing it out of harm's way before teleporting back to get his motorcycle, which he carefully parked next to the safe. After a second thought, he blinked back to grab his shotgun too, teleporting out of harm's way roughly a second before his favourite, most peaceful place in the world was eaten by a giant fucking worm.

He stood perfectly still, watching as his shack was destroyed by the huge segmented beast, twisting and writhing around as it wallowed in whatever bits of the shack it didn't immediately swallow.

"I'll deal with you-" he pointed to the other guy, "-In one minute." A second later, Marcus was in one of his many hidden safehouses. He quickly swiped up a worn duffel bag filled with grenades and a few seconds later he was back facing the giant worm. He grunted, placing one boot firmly on the red, dusty ground and raising his shotgun into the air, firing a single, deafening shot that echoed clearly through the wastes, even above the noise of the hulking worm. The beast immediately twisted towards Marcus, it's huge, gaping maw wide open and hungry for even more. Pieces of house were embedded in the thick skin of the worm's mouth, and several teeth were broken. Thick, dark blood poured profusely from the inside of the throat.

"Fuck me, you're ugly." Marcus announced as the creature charged directly towards him. He carefully reached inside the duffel bag and pulled the pin on a single grenade as the worm grew quickly closer. Marcus began counting down the seconds in his head.

Five.

The worm charged closer.

Four.

It was travelling as fast as it could now, churning up the hot, red ground as it plowed towards him.

Three.

It was close enough to see the finer details of the beast now. Rows of yellow, crooked teeth big enough to be knives, flecks of greenish saliva spitting in all directions, tiny underdeveloped black eyes, squinting in the harsh sunlight.

Two.

Marcus tossed the duffel bag into the worm's mouth when it was just a few feet away from him, watched it sail through the air and into the depths of the beast's throat.

One.

Marcus teleported away at the last second, appearing beside the other asshole as the worm exploded from the inside out, it's head being instantly obliterated. Chunks of thick, leathery flesh began raining down from the sky as the rest of the body tumbled forwards, confused at the sudden lack of a head, tumbling over itself and settling in a misshapen coil as dust rose in a thick cloud around it. Marcus reloaded his shotgun.

"Fuck me." Marcus sighed, lighting a cigarette and taking a long draw before tossing the cigarette into the distance. "So." He began, turning towards the strange man who had started this whole thing. "You just destroyed the one place I had left in the world where I could be peaceful. My one sanctuary. You're fucking dead, asshole." Marcus spat, raising his shotgun at the stranger, the sun reflected in his sunglasses.

Len-El
GCPD Containment Cell

"LET. ME. OUT!" yelled Len as he banged the cell over and over. It's no use, his power is diminished significantly. Although he took his "free time" earlier fine, push-up, meditating, it all bound to be boring eventually, well for him anyway. GCPD officers in front of him who tasked to guard the cell, snickered at his futile attempt.

"That's what you get for trying to destroy Gotham, asshole. Now sit there, and be quiet," yelled the officer to the Kryptonian. Both people angry, of course, but eventually other officer pulled the angry officer back and led the next shift coming in. The next shift of guards. And there, Len sat down, sulked, angry, frustrated, depressed.

"I'm going to kill all of you." muttered Len quietly.

Jonathan Pierce
Lord Technologies, Metropolis

Meanwhile, Jo is in the laboratory of Lord Technologies. Maxwell is in DC right now, on a meeting with various senators and ministers? Probably more than that. Anyway, since the GCPD weapons got out, some of them went straight into black market and Jo got a hand of Mr. Freeze's cryogenic weapon. Ever since then, the scientists and engineers have worked day and night to manufacture the weapon on a massive numbers.

At the same time, words coming in, just rumors, of an unconfirmed report of a Kryptonian somewhere in Gotham. Jo had sent men to Gotham, but information about him is quite hard to get, making this Kryptonian mystery more of a story that had been well-hidden by...Bat Family? Anyway, once the cryogenic weapons ready he can assemble the squad and well...doesn't know what to do next with those two.

The third thug, who was smart enough to duck under the staff, tries to hit her in the head with the launcher. Not really wanting to deal with him, Vera decides to quickly spin the staff between his legs, taking him down pretty quick.
Vera decides it's best to shift focus to the big guy, at least to take off some of the remain pressure on the shield, and she has an idea on how to do it. She flicks out one of her daggers and throws it towards the belt of the machinegun, if for no other reason then to draw his attention away from the rest of the group. She then turns on the invisibility device Mars had given her at the start of the mission and jumped back onto the ceiling.

Well, I suppose this costume works for no- Wait. I hear something. Explosions and screams. That is never, ever a good sign.

I leaped across a few buildings of this densely populated city, finally landing atop of a small radio tower. From here, I could have a better view of the town, and the event was unfolding right before my eyes. It was Xander, yeah, but he was not alone. There was an another heat signature there... and they were clashing. For a while, though, then it started to look like it slowed down.

Well, Xander made me a costume, so I can return the favor now. I clenched my fists and the aura around me flared up, rising exponentially and growing more and more wild and fiery. My hair turned pure, flashing white, and the modules inside of me reorganised, powered up and rebuilt. There. Standard Influx should be enough.

I immediately leaped off the tower and flew towards the site at full speed. Here! There's the enemy guy! And Xander looked... strange. It's as if he's becoming a pile of goo.

Ah, no matter! I threw a powerful kick right towards the hopefully unsuspecting enemy's chin, then immediately leaped back and turned to Xander:

"Are you alright? And say, when did you even get here?"

How many times must I explain it- I do none of these things! The Mistress is the judge and I was appointed her executioner!

Ego's Folly, Part 3 - Surface Deep

Previously - Bridge

The Reclaimer sighed deeply, standing just outside of the range of his quarry. His silver eyes looked it over, appraising its might. With the battle inside quelled for now, this was the time to strike out against his greatest foe yet. Ego, the Living Planet, forged in the fires of the Stranger, and reborn in the ashes of a fallen God among Gods. At full strength, Ego could match Galactus himself blow for blow.

Luckily for the Aspect of Death, Ego was recently humbled by the mighty Nova Corps. It retreated to the edge of space to lick its wounds, and perhaps gain the strength to exert his revenge over the Corps. Now, in the distance, it was consuming a sun, unaware of the powerful figure behind it. Reclaimer steeled himself and vanished, reappearing at the core of the nearly extinguished sun.

Within the blazing core, The Reclaimer crossed his sickles, arcane runes appearing on each of them. Suddenly, dark strains of fire filled the remains of the star, coursing along its surface and into Ego as he consumed it. The Reclaimer smirked, sliding his sickles apart. Suddenly, the dark energy exploded, obliterating the star and damaging Ego's surface.

"Death calls for your return to the void." The God of Reclamation announced to his prey. He spread his arms wide. "You have one chance to face me."

Ego, stunned for a moment, began to recover, its shattered eye already reforming.

You have made a mistake. You never should have let me attack.

Ego's shattered eye began to glow, its fragments rapidly returning to it. It released a wave of energy, throwing the Reclaimer backwards with a powerful force. The Reclaimer coughed, his hand held to his stomach. His left arm was broken, the smoke from that wrist temporarily ceased, revealing the sickle-shaped tattoo on it. Other than that, however, there was no damage. He smirked, reaching around and snapping the arm back into place. For a brief moment, the smoke burst outward from his wrist before wrapping around the arm. It cleared, and his arm was repaired.

"Actually, Ego, you made a mistake. You never should have let me survive." He grinned, vanishing and reappearing atop Ego's undamaged eye. He plunged one blade deep into it, pouring the power of death into Ego's eye. The vast eye cracked, and a scar spread across his face. "The scar of the beast on the Universe is at last reflected in its reality." Reclaimer smirked. He left his blade in Ego's eye and leapt backwards, slaughtering the many antibody defenders that Ego had summoned in an instant. "And now, both shall, at last, be cleansed." He rocketed towards the eye he had left his blade sickle in, raising the white and striking it with all his might. It plunged deep into Ego, and the black fires of death consumed its surface.

Ego was defenceless, a molten husk of rock and metal that could feel nothing but pain and agony. The Death God basked in its pain for a brief moment, a wild grin on his face, before he travelled into the tunnel left by his sickle.

"Thanks." Xander said as he managed to pull himself back together. "What do you mean when did I get here? I live here. And let me get you up to speed. That psycho is a version of me from an alternate universe, which if the last one was any indication of what he's doing, he's here because he killed it. And if we don't get him out of here soon, he'll probably do the same thing to ours. Which is obviously bad. Quick notes, he's an energy vampire on a cosmic scale. That armor he's wearing seems to compensate for it, so our best bet is to get him out of this universe as quickly as possible. We can't kill him. We've tried that already." Xander quickly explained.

Naja immediately went to contact Otis. "Hey Otis, remember that guy you kicked the crap out of a few days ago? Well... Turns out he's not dead. And he's here. So get here when you-" She didn't even get to finish before he teleported behind her, looking slightly unhappy. "Are... You okay? Usually you're smiling."

"I'm fine. I can't say the same for that blue bastard though. At least in five minutes. Thanks for calling Naja. Here. Can you hold this for me?" He asked and gave her his motherbox. "This is gonna get very... High octane. I don't want that thing breaking. When I saw so, open a boom tube somewhere outside of this universe." He explained and Naja took it. Otis flew outside just in time to see Frank kick Alex off of Xander. "You!"

"Fuck me..." Alex muttered as his jaw snapped back into place after Frank broke it.

"Damn straight fuck you!" Otis hissed. "I'm slightly upset!" He shouted, slamming his foot square into Alex's face, again and again, until it wasn't even a recognizable as a face. "Naja! Do the thing!" And just like he asked, Naja opened a Boom tube while Otis flung the monster at it. Only for him to stop just before he went in. Then Alex exploded in a mess of gore. "Ooooh... That... That wasn't what I was expecting."

"Peekaboo!" Came the slightly crazed voice of Wyatt Walker. Otis flew down to greet the old looking man.

"Thanks for the help. Who are you?"

"Sorry about that." Wyatt replied seemingly friendly. "My card." He said and with his hand glowing bright white, flung Otis through building after building of the island nation. "Alright!" He shouted as several more boom tubes opened up letting in hordes of Parademons and his lieutenants. "This universe is mine now motherfuckers."

Alex had regenerated behind Wyatt, and while he was talking, moved as fast as he could in front of the man and hit him square across the jaw. Hard. Hard to the point where the shockwave shook the entire island. If time were to slow, one could see the blood leaving Wyatt's nose and mouth, along with several teeth, before the man smashed into the ground. "This is my universe you old bastard! Get out!"

"That hurt, you little shit!" Wyatt shouted.

"It's gonna be one of those days, isn't it?" Xander muttered.
