West Papua is so wild and green and beautiful. Eight years travelling around Asia I have not seen such unspoiled nature. Not even Kalimantan/Borneo can compare. Everybody needs to come enjoy it.
But it is so far and isolated ehh... and how do you communicate with the locals eh?
Far and isolated means no pollution or haze ahhh.
No rubbish on the roadside and in the rivers/ocean either. Clear water. Gorgeous fish and reefs.
All this without the huge crowds of annoying tourists like on Bali.
I use my very poor Bahasa and hand signals if somebody needs my help specifically. 95% of the time my field supervisor does all the talking, he is fluent in Bahasa. If the people don't know Bahasa or English we have Melanesian interpreters also.
