The Indevians
256 times the speed of light...

Ah, yes, 256. The magic number. A natural constant of the Indevian world. Square of 16, the area of one 'chunk', a constant of many codes and quantum effects and phenomena in the cubic curvature.

It seemed as if the unfriendly welcome had packed some friendliness in it...the familiarity of this number the Indevians had. It was most certainly a gift.

And gifts are to be received, in proper form.

Projecting a great shield of transmuted and transfigured particles and 'enchanting' them with tetraphysical attributes, the command blocks on the Indevian vessel created a barricade for which the torpedoes would have to go through. A natural constant in the area times 256 made the manipulation of the incoming projectiles even easier; soon their code was cracked, and stopped dead in their tracks as they hit the shield, transfigured into cubic form slowly but surely. Cubic particles diffused from the impacting point, but the shields remained the strong.

The Indevians took this gift. The torpedoes were transformed into cubic materials, recycled for later use as they were teleported into the great material assemblers of the ship by command block force.

Of course, gifts were to be returned. Command blocks proceeded to intensify the ripple on space-time, directing resonance and shockwaves at the position of the fighters. These would not come from a direction, but rather directly impact the fighters by striking their positions. And, well, to be nice, the Indevians made the strike rather inaccurate, as in not directly imploding the Excidian fighters, but just creating shocks to disturb and disrupt their formations.

Zylia Alpha

Shortly after the torpedoes struck, exploding against an unseen force, the Excidian fighters disappeared, before instantly reappearing on the other side of the blocky ship. On might assume that they had teleported to avoid the attack, which was not really correct.

The squadron had activated their Aeternitatis Drives, slipping out of the universe into a realm called by Excidium Universalis the Regno Aeterno, Everlasting Realm*. Here, time flowed out of synch with the universe. 10 years here was a tenth of a second in the real universe, and 1000 years as a second. Huge distances could be crossed by the use of this dimension, if the ships could weather the time, with almost no loss of time in the real universe. The only downside was that no FTL drive of any form could operate there. For some reason, the laws that governed this universe had built it with rigid space that could not be warped.

So, for several hours the fighters flew, formulating an attack strategy while they waited to reach their destination. When they emerged, they were ready.

The lead fighter broadcast a message to High Command. "I'm going in." Then the fighter slipped back into Regno Aeterno, flew a short distance, and reemerged: inside the enemy ship. It's "primary" weapon, an antiparticle cannon, began firing the moment it was inside the ship.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the system, a massive ship warped in. It was known as the "King" class, and looked like a giant tube connected to a long cylindrical tail. A small distortion appeared at the empty center of the tube, expanding towards the tube's inner edge as it became apparent it was a wormhole of some sorts. From this portal, thousands of small 10m cubic ships, the "Pawn" class, which flooded out and began preparations for battle. Slowly, several hundred formed up together, modular forms locking together to form the "Rook", "Bishop", and "Knight" classes.

The Rook class, though it was unnecessary with the advent of better warp technology, functioned as a carrier of sorts. After projecting a massive energy shield around itself, it the warped space in a hemisphere in front of the construct, which looped the space there back around to a small point at the center. All incoming Stellar radiation was thus turned into a laser beam, which lanced towards the really massive blocky craft.

The Knight class construct took the modern-day role of a submarine, and focused on offensive specialized strikes. The Knight construct entered the Regno Aeterno, took a short flight, and then fired off an odd contraption... from inside itself, from the Regno Aeterno to immediately next to the enemy ship's bow. The contraption then opened up a wormhole to a particular blue giant star, unleashing a firestorm of nuclear fusion on the area.

The Bishop construct, named for an ancient Excidian Naval Officer, was a cruiser. It offered support for the rest of the fleet, firing off plentiful FTL torpedoes, and then firing several planetcracker rounds, which traveled at 100 times the speed of light and were made of massive 100 meter long, 10 meter radius antihydrogen cylinders, and could destroy entire Jovian systems. It featured an energy shield, a magnetic field, and a plasma field for maximum non-distortion protection.

The remaining Pawns functioned as Corvettes, moving fast in impossible to predict random patterns, while unleashing tons of increasingly odd weapons. Their primary cannons fired nuclear fusion shells propelled by exotic matter reactionless drives, allowing them to turn and accelerate indefinitely with no signature. They also fired streams of zero-point defense lasers, which never ran out of energy because zero-point in this universe was bottomless.

This whole assault was focused on the destruction of one ship.

*Aeiouia already illuminated this, but the Everlasting Realm is basically Aeiouia's Void. It may be the real Void, or maybe it's a different but identical Void.

The crippled VCMR fleet exited warp and counted their remaining assets - thankfully they had all survived their hyperspace jump. The end result of the battle was still uncertain, as they never saw the effects of their "Erasure"-class missiles on the Ravagery's fleet. To keep track of the numerous civilizations still around Zylia Alpha, the remaining admirals agreed on a simple solution.

One cruiser launched approximately a hundred soda-can-sized probes, packed with scientific instruments and cameras. The probes, unable to reach FTL speeds on their own, were remotely boosted by their "mothership" all around the Zylia Alpha system and into a few of the neighboring systems. In the event that a probe encountered a spacetime anomaly it would send all possible information before self-destructing.

The first wave of probes arrived to find the Ravagery's fleet completely destroyed and a set of newly-arrived factions... working out their differences.
"I guess everything really does happen at once sometimes."

The VCMR is likely far less interested in interfering with those below than it used to be.

Most of the Nanites had been instantly destroyed in the crossfire between the VCMR and the Ravagery, the swarm reduced from trillions to a few thousand in seconds. The survivors quickly disappeared into personal pocket dimensions, their only link to the universe they had previously occupied being an impossibly tiny wormhole. Here they would wait until one of the many spaceships happened to stumble upon them, or until the battle was over.

It seemed that reinforcements were in order, for anything capable of such destruction clearly presented a Class B threat, or perhaps even a Class A, and required immediate annihilation. The Star Roads and Orbital Arches surrounding the Keymind began to glow with darkness, sucking in all light around the vast construct. The fabric of reality crumbled as it came into contact with the fabric of the universe designated 4567543x10170. A gate had been forged, and through it came the Swarm, trillions of Nanites swarming towards their prey, with billions more arriving every second. Only then did the Keymind notice the vessel in front of it, a small and pathetic thing compared to vastness of the Swarm. It had only survived due to the nearby battle occurring within the Zylia Alpha system, the event being the sole focus of the Swarm, otherwise it would have been consumed within a few nanoseconds. The Keymind read the message, and was filled with malicious delight, it would be more than happy to make contact with these beings.

Everlasting Realm/The Void/The Great Ruins

This had all happened before.

Beings of a realm that manage to become all-powerful before they become wise enough to properly wield that power come into existence. Fueled by primitive instincts to mindlessly fight, devour, expand, and multiply for no real tangible reason leads them to conduct massive wars.

After many millennia of conflict, these wars result in a victor. Who proceeds to shape all of the current reality in their image. Knowing the general mindset of these beings, "Their image" usually implies "Completely annihilated, incinerated, atomized, and/or devoured".

In the case of the previous realm, all of the above statuses eventually were applied. The victor revelled in her achievement, gaining the greatest of victory feasible. Until, of course, she realized that by destroying everything, she literally had nothing at all to interact with. Being infinitely stuck in a infinite, dark void.

Needless to say, the entity in question spent an utterly unimaginably high number of eons kicking herself for being so incredibly short-sighted. But, eventually, a new realm emerged. Causing the incredibly bored being to be beyond overjoyed at the prospect of seeing something other than herself after so long.

With the new Multi/Omini/N-420/whateverprefixyouwantoputhereverse in existence, she choose to begin the monumental task of rebuilding what she destroyed in her home dimension. And give those who she mindlessly slaughtered a second chance at life.

Eventually gathering a group of lifeforms that she believed that she could trust, she bestowed upon them her unimaginably advanced and powerful abilities and technologies. In exchange for their undaunted assistance with her reconstruction efforts, and a swear to an oath to never take a sapient life or engage in unnecessary destruction. Lest the mistakes of the past be repeated again.

After many millenia, and much, much more than that in the ruins of the old realm, this effort has come along very well. And is finally beginning to come into shape. By this point in time, the Aeiouian collective has abandoned their use of the new dimension. On the account of having enough universes constructed to be self-sufficient in the old one.

As each piece of the ruins was rebuilt, the originally-psychotic being that destroyed it so long ago became ever so infinitesimally more sane and coherent. But, of course, with a new conflict erupting in the new realm, this peace might not last for much longer. And Aeiouia may have to fight once more, but this time on the opposite side of where it stood in the last conflict.

Of course, all of this is far too serious for something that uses the utterly ridiculous term "Omniverse" every few paragraphs. At this time, Iris, the retired Multiversal Devourer, and the current leader and most definitely not retired Alcohol Devourer of the Collective, Mia, floated near one of the faction's many Ringworlds in the Void.

Here, they seemed to discuss nothing important at all:

"Damn it... Zis blend. It needs more Promethium and Pandora's Tears. Ze antimatter just does not taste very good anymore. No idea vhy."

Despite her dissatisfaction with her current beverage, the utterly colossal mechanical abomination proceeds to down the whole bottle anyway. Of course, many questions are raised here.

Like, how does a being whose height is measured in light years manage to move at all, especially in a realm where all forms of FTL travel, no matter how advanced, fail to function?

Or, without gravity, how does the liquid in the gigantic glass somehow manage to function as if it were on a planet with gravity, therefore being able to be drinkable in a conventional sense?

Of course, these inquiries, along with certainly many others, are to be left unanswered, as the titan-class starship that the colossal four-legged abomination is using as a makeshift table speaks, somehow ignoring many other issues:

"More booze, Overseer?"

"Vhat do you thinks? Of course, Dummkopf!"

The huge starship begins producing another bottle, most definitely to add to the variable asteroid thicket of empty ones aimlessly floating around in the area. Of course, it has to take care not to disturb the giant radio on top of it, which is inexplicably making sound through a vacuum, by playing a chipper tune.

"Ugh. I'm detectin' more Excidium vessels arriving. Hey, you kids, get off my lawn!"

"Zey can't hear you, and they're not really hurting anyvone. Besides, aren't you going to be updating ze settings in ze void soon to prevent unauthorized access?"

While somehow "Sitting" on a non-existent chair, the colossal red-haired reality-devouring monster seems to have what appears to be a gargantuan laptop that she is typing away at with all four of her arms.

For some completely inexplicable reason, to add to quite a few present here already, said laptop resembles what an Earth-dweller would recognize as a ridiclously old, cumbersome, and out-dated computer.

"Yeaaah. I'm workin' on it."

"Alright, zen..."

"Hey, Forge, could you pass me anozter drink?"

"Of course, Overseer."

Quite impressively, the Alcohol Devourer had managed to down an entire bottle of whatever freaky chemicals and other forms of matter in just a few seconds. Shortly thereafter, a massive "Great Avatar-Class" Figher-Bomber flies to a location next to a comically over-sized and ineffective umbrella stationed near the Titan-class ship functioning as a table and apparently cooler.

Using its tractor beam, it pulls a bottle of who knows what horrific substances out of the warship's construction bays, and tosses it at the General Overseer.

Considering the multi-light year sizes of everything involved here, in order for these motions to function in any reasonable amount of time would be if they were moving faster than light. Which, obviously, they are not. Since nothing, not even the might of an infinitely powerful Greater Devourer entity, can allow for FTL travel in this realm. This raises many qu-wait. I already touched on this. Nevermind.

The XCS Forgir cautiously moved toward the gate, and then passed through it, it was clear the Forgirs captain was very cautious with the highly unstable situation. However the ships weapons remained off, and its shields were only up to protect the ship from the process of the gate.

UNKNOWN TIME
UNKNOWN LOCATION , OMNIVERSAL MEGAVOID
THE MULTIVERSAL DOMANAEII
OVERLORD CHEVIIAH

The average organism has no grasp on the true definition of the "Omniverse", and the many descending magnitudes of reality that it encompasses. Most ignorant sophonts just accredit the Omniverse as being All There Is, which is not entirely false. However, it is not exactly the wholly summarizing statement that many wish to abide by for exo-universal scientific law.

The Omniverse encompasses an infinite amount of dimensions, universes/monoverses, multiverses, polyverses, cycloverses, and other "verse" phenomena. Knowing the attribution of "All There Is" to the Omniverse truly limits the actual size of the Omniverse, as an ignorant sophont could only ever know the nth geometries of the dimension that it was born into.

Alas, there is a "Void" that separates the infinite somethingness from the infinite nothingness, which is known simply by the Domanaeii as the "Omniversal Megavoid". This Megavoid contains absolutely no matter, energy, definition of time, geometry, or dimension. This void is truly the definition of nothingness. The Domanaeii, however, with their countless universe lifecycles of conquering and raping all life to exist, have found to even exploit the seemingly exploit-less. The Megavoid is normally inaccesible by any and all means, even more than a Multiversal Megavoid. While a universe-faring nation can jump between Universes without exploring the Multiversal Megavoid, they can travel through it -- hypothetically. This Multiversal Megavoid, although containing no matter, energy, nor sense of time or space, does abide by the gemoetrical dimensions put in place for all universes under its demesne. As such, one can expect an infinite amount of Multiverses stacked between each other in a linear horizontal pattern, with each magnitude of stack correlating to their respective dimensional variables. This extends for infinity.

Such Multiversal Stacks exist within the Omniversal Megavoid; but, to maintain the entirely isolationist policy of dimensional geometry, they must be suspended in some sort of region where absolutely no dimensions are defined. This is the Omniversal Megavoid's explanation, minus the arithmetic that will shatter even the brightest of minds. One may ask, "How can one transverse such regions of absence?", but it a really simple answer: If somehow, someway, a gemoetrical object finds itself defined in the Omniversal Megavoid, it becomes the megavoid, in the sense that the object exists at all points, at all times, in all energies, in all volumes, and in all mass. This is exploited by the Domanaeii to transport Multiversal Legions fairly quickly.

If you were expecting an IC post... this kinda is. This post is an explanation for an IC post I will be making later on.

Everlasting Realm/The Void/The Great Ruins

The Aeiouian Void is an odd instance. Being a Megaplane on a Omni-Central Verse Stack, the realm is distinctly different from the rest of the Multimegaverse. Being a Megaplane, it exhibits many weird properties. Mainly, its total separation from the regular Voidverse.

The Voidverse, of course, being a regular Plane above the Multiverse, but below the Omniverse. The Multiverse and Ominiverse are inherently very similar, both being interconnected to form the Megaverse. Which is a varable webway for certain more advanced factions to travel through, using the Multivoid in between the Omni-Central Verse Stacks to travel quickly and safely.

Using the natural lack of matter, energy, or anything, not even basic quantum fluctuations in the Multivoid, anyone looking to travel in it has to have the ability to exist outside of time amd space. Obviously, only the more advanced Multiversal factions are able to achieve this feat.

But the Aeiouians, being paranoid and obsessed with stealth, tend to utilize the Megaplane. Specifically, the Multimegaverse. Due to its complete seperation from the Voidverse, anything in it cannot be detected from anywhere else. Even the surrounding Megaverse. This makes it very useful for inter-voidal travel, to those that are patient enough to use it.

Though, there is one downside to traveling through the Megaplane. This is the fact that you are unable to directly cross into the Voidverse, first having to travel through a regular Multiverse in order to reach it. This, obviously, causes many problems. Especially when a traveler must go from the Megaplane to the Multimegaverse.

In this case, the traveler must first jump from the Megaplane to a Megaverse, then a normal Multiverse, briefly head to the Voidverse, and then finally reach the Multimegaverse. This process is incredibly time-consuming, at least on the nanosecond scale, which is quite a problem for a Multiversal Empire.

The most dangerous part of existence, or at least this level of existence, is the Multivoid. This hellish realm is full of what many lowly sophonts refer to as "Erasure Energy". This substance is so volatile, that most Multiversal empires collect it, in order to use it for weapons production. Many universe and multiverse-destroying WMDs cannot function without its strange properties.

As the name suggests, anything that comes into contact with it is instantly annihilated from reality itself, no matter what it is, or where it is. How it does this is a mystery, even to the most powerful of Multiversal Empires.

But, as one could imagine, this makes travel through the Multivoid that it calls home incredibly perilous and full of danger. Even the most advanced vessels must steer clear of its corrupting influence unless they have the correct protection. Such protection being incredibly costly, even for the post-post-scarcity economic power of many of these factions.

The only thing capable of protecting against Erasure Energy is Void Energy, which is equally as difficult to come across and collect. Void Energy can withstand Erasure Energy for the simple fact that the two are polar opposites. Erasure Energy emits a constant torrent of energy, while Void Energy constantly consumes the exact same amount of energy.

This leads the two incredibly powerful substances to completely cancel each other out when they contact. For this reason, Void Energy, or a combination of both it and Erasure Energy is needed to protect any vessels looking tot ravel through the Multivoid.

However, the Omni-Plane, the location where Void Energy is found, is almost as dangerous. But not because of the Void energy, instead being a direct result of the time fluctuations that occur in the realm.

These alterations in the way that time flows can wreak havoc on anyone traveling through the area if they are unlucky enough to be caught in them. When a Time Fluctuation occurs, it only affects a very small area. Causing any solid objects in the area, even if they are made out of materials like Void Energy or Quantum Foam, to split apart effortlessly.

This is caused by the simple fact that part of the object is suddenly moving forwards in time, while the rest of it is moving backwards in time. No matter how strong a construct, without chronostablization, it will falter under this force.

Most interestingly, none of what was just said has anything to do with anything, or has any meaning. With all of it simply being space-like words strung together in an ever so slightly coherent and grammatically correct manner.

In reality, the Aeiouian Void works the way it does, because it does. Much like the functions of many other factions, it seems to be controlled from a source completely outside of any realm that could be suffixed with "Verse", or some other similar term.

Much like the Indevians' block conversions, The Great Devourer Of All's Universe Eaters, or many other systems, their functions are controlled by distant, seemingly powerless forces. They do not need reason for their function, only will. Nor could any logic and rationality be applied to their mechanisms, no matter how much even the greatest of minds toiled away at their concepts.

Like when any Multiversal powers clash, their forces are always at odds with each other in ways that often make no sense whatsoever. But, never do they truly understand how their forces work. Despite what they may claim.

Of course, none of this can be tested. No one truly knows how these forces react with each other until they are directly presented with the opportunity to clash.

Suddenly, the music on the giant, inexplicable radio stops, only to be replaced by a voice:

"Yooouu're listening to Ringworld Seven Broadcasts, your music box in the ruins of this once great realm!

So, what's going on today, I hear you all asking. Well, don't worry, I've got a news segment coming up for you all right now!

Apparently, Excidian ships have been sighted entering the Void quite a far distance from the Central Zone. Iris states that are 'Not an issue' and will be dealt with quickly."

Looking over at the Devourer, a nearby ship seems to speak to her through some kind of strange transmission... Or sound, like the radio is somehow doing right now somehow:

"You should have told them that they were actually going to be a big problem. That would have been funny."

"Nah. Not worth it. Besides, you can divert the attention of Excidian vessels just by throwing money at them anyway. Damn sellouts."

As the machines return to being quiet and not speaking, the woman on the radio continues talking:

"The 35th Psynertech Park is slated to open soon on Ringworld 53. Why we need so many of these damn things when only a few hundred of the people here are small enough to ride a rollercoaster is anyone's guess.

Finally, we have a heartwarming tale to tell you all. Not too long ago, Petey, who has been missing from Ringworld 154 for so long, has finally had a reunion with his family. It turns out that the poor pet rock was accidentally kidnapped by a drunk prospector, after he himself was accidentally teleported to the world by a bored Mia Utopia.

But, thanks to the heroic actions of some vigilant Akug citizens, Petey has been returned to his home, alongside the rest of the Stone Family.

That's enough boring news for now. It's time to get back to the music!"

Suddenly, the radio erupts in inexplicable sound, playing an extremely odd abomination of acoustics.

The Aeiouian Overseer briefly lowers her nearly-empty bottle of alcohol and looks at the radio for a few moments. It is clear that in this short amount of time, she carefully weighs her options. Does she get up and turn the mildly atrocious sound off, "standing up" for about two seconds and expending an infinitesimally small amount of her infinite energy in the process?

Or, does she retain her dignity in being lazy, and ignore the obnoxious "Music" long enough for it to go away on its own? Remaining perched comfortably on her imaginary giant chair, but having to deal with the mildly irritating music while in such a state?

Ultimately, apathy wins, and the drunkard elects to simply wait out the awful orchestra of rude-sounding pitch-shifted tones. She simply takes another drink from her bottle of alcohol, before tossing it away. Where it somehow manages to collide with another recently-discarded bottle mid-trajectory.

Shortly thereafter, it turns out that the Overseer's choice in fact pays off. As the radio briefly cuts into static, before the voice from earlier speaks once more. This time, in a rather perturbed tone:

"And also in news today, a major study shows that you should never allow Garet to even touch your broadcast station's database. Let's move on to a real piece of music, shall we?"

Thankfully, the awful sounds of a nine-year-old internet meme subside, and is replaced with another guitar track.

After briefly rolling her eyes, partially in relief and partially because of disgust with the incompetence of the radio station's disk jocky, the Aeiouian Overseer speaks once more:

"So, uh... You think zat ze Excidiums are fighting somevone?"

"Probably, they seem ta' really like doin' that.

"Think ve should check it out?

"Eh... Maybe. I guess I'll take a look at it if they return again."

Universe R0-0-1045
Continuum B
intergalactic space

To combat the boredom they often faced as a civilization, the VCMR regularly put their spacecraft and robots to work constructing vast, pointless megastructures using their stored zero-point energy. These usually were left to decay in the void of space until a passing salvage team tore them apart into component molecules and harvested the remains.

This salvage, a large ringworld-type orbital several light-years across, required some extra equipment. No craft of sane proportions could safely dismantle something that large within a useful timespan, thus an unused Macroweapon was assigned to the task. One of the largest actual spacecraft the VCMR deployed, this Macroweapon (a fairly typical one) was a planet-sized square frustum with an arsenal of enormous weapons originally designed for prolonged multiversal conflicts. Today, one of these "tools" would finally see some use.

A few minutes passed after the Macroweapon stopped its FTL a short distance away from the ringworld. Even with the thousands of zero-point reactors placed all over the universe (as was usual in the R0-0 multiverse cluster), its gargantuan primary weapon, a Radiant-class cluster beam, still needed a long time to charge up.

Abruptly, however, the Radiant-class's weapon structure suddenly glowed white and shot out a bright cone of energy - not unlike the Aeiouian concept of "Erasure Energy", but used on a less efficient scale due to the VCMR's technological limitations. Stretching out for dozens of light-years at superluminal speeds, the cone enveloped the old ringworld and tore it apart at the subatomic level. Within seconds the vast structure was gone, replaced by a thin wisp of particles by the Macroweapon's might.

It was at this time that a faint signal reached it from many multiverse clusters away. It seemed that a large "multiversal patrol" force was assembling, and apparently readying for an incoming attack by... one or more class-15 civilizations.

Its work completed, the Macroweapon turned in the "direction" of the signal and shot off into the gap between worlds.

"I guess everything really does happen at once sometimes."

The VCMR is likely far less interested in interfering with those below than it used to be.

The Indevians
To venture deep within the cores without curvature conversion procedures earlier was a great mistake. Not yet partially emerging into the spherical curvature, the dominant force of the cubes imposed harmful reality-warping effects on the fighter. It will not long before the fighter be either crushed or imploded, or converted into a cubic form while losing plenty of materials in the process. The process was further hastened by many internal turrets and weapons within the ship, and with command blocks increasing curvature pressure.

This didn't deal with the greater problem of an entire assault on the ship however. The tetraphysically enhanced bedrock hull took heavy hits but weren't compromised, held together by forces not too dissimilar with Domanaeii 'stellar glue' in terms of strength. The incoming salvo of lasers, torpedoes and the sort were sure impressive; but to truly shatter an Indevian construct, one must strike decisively with the appropriate amount of force exerted in one hit, which was something the antiparticle weaponry did not really offer. Nevertheless, several blocks flew from the bow at extremely high velocities as the explosions faded, the hull being weathered - significantly.

Staying there of course was not a good way of counterattack. From the weapons banks of the ship emerged thousands of large, tailed and spiked biomechanical constructs with staring eyes. They swarmed onto the Excidian vessels, concentrating their eye lasers, also powered by various antimatter, into large beams capable of devastating Tier 1 Civilizations' ship hulls. Similar beams were projected from other weapons banks, showering exotic curvature destruction upon the insolent resistance.

More powerful attacks came from the command blocks, them spawning space-time ripples to disrupt the enemy vessels; this time with far more force and an intention to destroy. While such weapons were to be reserved for potential local Domanaeii presence, you never know when or where is an actually good situation to use such...

Zylia Alpha System

The ill fated fighter was swiftly destroyed, but its death was not in vain. The noble sacrifice had sent vital information to the fleet. This information could prove vital to the enemy's destruction.

The Pawn class craft were destroyed by the hundreds, easily falling to... Antimatter lasers? What even?

But the larger craft held up. The distortion shield the Rook held in front of it redirected any forward attacks back at the enemy vessel, in addition to the stellar radiation and any stray energy emitted by the exploding ships. The Bishop's energy shield destroyed any matter component of the enemy attack, while the plasma shield absorbed energy weapons and dissipated the energy harmlessly, and the magnetic field redirected any kind of charged particle attacks that may be present. Whatever remained after this was either redirected by the metamaterial armor in the hull or absorbed by the more traditional ship armor, a self-repairing nanobot mesh that used cosmic dust and debris to rebuild itself. The space-time ripples were passively countered by the space-time distortions of the ship's Perrault Drives.

As it became clear they were in danger, the Pawns began to fly back to the cover of the Rook, firing their last salvos at the strange eye creatures before entering newly created holes in the shield to cluster next to the Rook.

The King class was also taking damage, although it was designed to be resilent and the wormhole slightly helped to avoid damage. The Pawn Shipyards would be taking a beating, but oh well. The King continued to spew Pawn class ships.

Meanwhile, in the Regno Aeterno, the Knight prepared additional munitions. It moved forward, past where the large blocky ship's bow would be in the real universe, and fired another star-bomb. The wormhole-generating contraption appeared inside the enemy ship, opening a wormhole to the center of the blue star from earlier.

Hyperbranal Sinkhole
Through the seemingly infinite sea of darkness in-between the vast, Omniversal web of intersecting, infinitely large Hyperbranes, eight hundred enormous ships drifted towards their destination. The waves of the sinkhole pushed them forwards at speeds that put traditional transwarp drives to shame, but in reality, the ships were hardly moving. Although, it is true that reality is a strange concept when the Omniverse is being discussed.

The two hundred Goliaths and six hundred Leviathans exited the sinkhole sixty AUs away from the outer edges of the Zylia Alpha system, with a massive escort of eighty thousand smaller ships. The fleet split into four groups and headed off at high transwarp to other areas of the galaxy to explore and prepare for a full-scale invasion. About half an hour later, millions of probes and thousands of Harvesters exited as well and started to spread out to search for resources and civilizations to consume.

Universe R0-[unintelligible]-10
Continuum A
VCMR Staging Galactic Supercluster

In a way, the VCMR forces present in this universe were attending a briefing, even if only through the communication lines. After the partial loss of their most organized fleet (at the time) in the battle of Zylia Alpha, they were still waiting for reinforcements to arrive so they could safely plan their next moves. Occasionally an unused cruiser or battleship fleet slammed into this universe's realspace to meet up with its allies in the great briefing. A large number of Leviathans and a few near-obsolete Macroweapons had come through the hyperspatial portals, but the sheer number of drones required for a sufficient large-scale operation was taking a long time to produce.

In the meantime, most of the grand admirals present were discussing future plans. There were a few scary phrases thrown around like "orders of magnitude" and "class-15 civilization", but the four major agreements (based on the damaged Leviathan Fleet's recordings and the newly-installed probes in Zylia Alpha) were as follows:

- The Erasure-type missiles had been effective in wiping out the Ravagery fleet; almost too effective. They wouldn't fall for that tactic again without some coercion.
- Unfortunately, despite destroying multiple planet-sized spacecraft and thousands of Titan-class vessels (called such since the smaller enemy ships were twenty to forty kilometers long, the size of VCMR titans), the attack had done almost nothing to the Ravagery's space force as a whole, and the newly-arriving Ravagery fleet would have entered R0-[]-8604/G (the universe containing Zylia Alpha) anyway.
- VCMR armor and shields were insufficient to keep up with even small amounts of Ravagery firepower. Research into said technologies was imperative.
- For now, most military forces were to be moved out of R0-[]-8604/G so the probes could watch the situation play out.

Slowly this information was relayed to the regrouping fleet in said universe.

Continuum G
intergalactic space

Understanding what was requested of them, the Leviathan Fleet broke apart carefully, most of its units heading into other universes to repair or meet up with larger fleets. A few smaller ships (no larger than dreadnoughts) stayed in this universe and dispersed amongst several different galaxies to avoid detection. They continued to launch probes to monitor the situation at Zylia Alpha.

The VCMR is likely far less interested in interfering with those below than it used to be.

Charted System A-3274
Outer System Debris Cloud
In the inner Oort Cloud of one of the many tens of thousands of recently-charted systems, a massive Leviathan-Class battleship drifted among the hundreds of thousands of mountain-sized comets, shoving them away with the lightest nudge of its shields. Inside the briefing room of the enormous ship, the chief officers sat around a round table, watching the hologram of the nearest Grand Admiral as he dealt out orders.
"High Command has informed us of a second wave of forces coming- 1,500 capital ships in all. You are to scatter as many probes as possible across your designated sector. Once we receive the order, we will begin our attack. Be ready at all times."
"Yes, sir." Said the captain crisply.
"Hail the Devourer." Spoke the Admiral. It was, after all, the traditional military farewell. The captain and chief officers chanted the hail back and gave the Devourer's Salute. The hologram blinked out of existence and the officers got up and left.
