The whole "treat others how you'd like to be treated" thing, yeah. It's good that we've finally gotten moving on that.

No what we need is a lesbian in the White House, it's the best way to have a woman President and still have a First Lady. We get a woman and an LGBT in the White House and we still get first Lady Dresses! Sounds like a perfect scenario to me.

I don't often jump into the fray when the conversation turns American-centric, but I have to put in my two cents (or whatever unit) worth here and say, having a lesbian in the White House is not only a good thing, it's ideal; we get a president who is female and LGBT. A double blow to the status quo, eh? 8)

Why must there be issues? What is the sense in making an argument over whether or not people should be allowed to love on another? I personally have the following line of thinking: Every single human being, regardless of race, class, gender, orientation, beliefs, anything really, deserves to have the same morally just civil and basic rights as everyone else. No one should gets more rights than another and no one should get less than another, it all should be level. As to the LGBT Right's issue in specific, I think that indeed these people, these fellow human beings (Do remember we all are the same species, therefore technically we all are the same race as well, the human race) deserve the same rights guaranteed everyone else, they deserve to have the equality that every human being is ethically guaranteed. But why is it even an issue in the first place? In my opinion this should have been an argument that lasted a week at best and then these people are given the rights they deserve. Yet instead a good portion of the human race on this planet, shockingly mostly coming from the First World and specifically the supposed "Free World" countries, has been engrossed in the conflict of this issue for years upon years.

Another line of thinking I possess is that an issue on this scale matters quite a lot here, in the here and now on our own planet but not in the grand scheme of things. There is an infinite number of planets and stars out there and at this point most of what we do on this rock we call home is practically irrelevant and here we are arguing over the right to love each other!
Proud advocate that Europe stands stronger together than divided. The EU may be flawed in some areas but the idea of a united Europa can only bring good fortune to Europe and the world. For more than two thousand years, Europe was home to conflicts inspired by coveting one another's territory and resources, even making the continent the home to some of the world's most destructive and costly conflicts. But the idea was all wrong in their minds. Their idea was to bring this territory or that under their flag and spread influence on the continent. The idea they should all have been thinking was that the goal should be to bring the continent under one unified flag.

I find it very upsetting that many states in the US don't have protections for LGBT people. In 29 states you can fired for being gay, denied service at a restaurant other business, evicted from your apartment. I don't see why anyone would be against a law prohibiting that.

Don't you know? Leviticus of the Conservapedia Bible states: 'Thou shall not treat the LGBT community like fellow human beings for it is an abomination.'

To be fair, the Bible doesn't say "homos shalt not be in restaurants".

To be fair if we followed the bible exactly we couldn't do half the things we do today without classifying at "sin"

I think that one of the ten commandments kind of says that one can't be having sexual relations with those of the same gender.

How is it disgusting?
