Well, probably the Russians didn't tell Kursk what actually happened, since an experience like that might be a little traumatizing. She knows that as a submarine, she didn't participate in any real missions, and that possibly something happened to her. She still has nightmares sometimes, is a little afraid of torpedoes, and doesn't like naval exercises. She also doesn't like Pyotra, since even if she doesn't remember, her ship was the one she was supposed to fire at when the faulty torpedo exploded.

Of course, even if she doesn't know what happened, it doesn't mean the other fleet girls don't know. The Kursk incident was one of the largest submarine disasters in the world after all.

I was playing Silent Hunter 4. Yamato and Haruna (I think it was Haruna) were vanquished by torpedo salvos. (3 for Haruna, Every other torpedo for Yamato)

And before that, I was playing Mission 9 of Ace Combat 6 on Ace of Aces difficulty. One missile can blow up your plane.

Description: The design started in the late 1960s, based around use of the P-500 Bazalt missile, and was intended as a less expensive conventionally powered alternative to the nuclear-powered Kirov-class battlecruisers. There was a long delay in this programme, while the problems with the Bazalt were resolved. These ships acted as flagships for numerous task forces. The class was a follow up to the Kara-class cruiser which the Soviet Navy typed as a Large Anti-submarine Ship (Russ. BPK), constructed at the same shipyard and appears to be built on a stretched version of the Kara-class hull.

The Slava class was initially designated BLACKCOM 1 (Black Sea Combatant 1) and then designated the Krasina class for a short period until Slava was observed at sea. The SS-N-12 launchers are fixed facing forward at around 8° elevation with no reloads available. As there was nothing revolutionary about the design of the class western observers felt they were created as a hedge against the failure of the more radical Kirov class.

In battle, Slava displays calmness, always waiting for the cut-in perfect opportunity to unleash her primary weapons against the Abyssals. The radar she wears provides her with the awareness to deploy her AA missiles. Knowing that she could be damaged easily, Slava prefers to hang back while protecting carriers, unless she sees another Fleet Girl in trouble, where she would be willing to place herself in danger, not allowing other Fleet Girls to lose a sister ship.
