Notable Units of Your Nation's Armed Forces

Postby Blakullar » Tue Dec 22, 2015 9:09 am

Are there any divisions in your military that stand out from the others (in terms of function, decoration, exploits, etc.)? Why are they notable? (If your nation doesn't have a military, are there any paramilitary/police units that follow the given criteria?)

The Mecharussian Armed Forces (MAF) itself is notable for departing from the previous Russian/Soviet military formula of pressing overwhelming numbers of poorly-trained soldiers in favour of a more professional and far better-equipped military. MAF personnel are renowned worldwide for their durability and combat ability that puts each one on par with a soldier from the Frenkish Vanguard Corps (the mid-22nd century equivalent to the US Marine Corps). However, there are a handful of MAF divisions that are considered especially notable...

  • The Special Purpose Forces, abbreviated to 'Spetsnaz', are - as their name may suggest - the special forces of the MAF. Attached to the Red Army but in actuality operating across all four branches, the Spetsnaz are trained for all manner of scenarios: assassination, guerrilla warfare and sabotage, to name but a few. They are also recognised as being qualitatively the best soldiers in the Solar System: their training regimen that would break even a Spartan, experimental-grade cybernetics and high-tech gadgets and weaponry make them terrifying foes on the battlefield, and indeed just about anywhere.
  • The 11th Orbital Shock Brigade of Tula, more commonly known as the 'Black Coats', are the finest troops that the Mecharussian Space Marines (attached to the Aerofleet) have to offer. They have two main distinctions: their combat ability, which comes close to rivalling the Spetsnaz, and their long-coats - made from warg-skin (wargs being large, wolf-like predators in the Siberian wastelands) harvested from an animal personally slain by the trainee in close combat as part of an initiation ritual. It is from both these coats and a WW2 regiment of Soviet Marines that the Black Coats get their moniker.
  • The Desolator Brigades are an attachment to the Red Army whose official function is chemical and radiological weapons deployment, but whose actual function is essentially ethnic cleansing. Composed primarily from psychopaths and sadists recruited from the Gulag system, there are only three such Desolator Brigades in existence, but their activities are so notorious as to make them well-known - and more importantly, feared - not just in this universe but also several others.
  • The Psychic Warfare Component, often shortened to Psi-Corps, is a battalion-sized force of soldiers with special mental abilities that are best described as 'psionic powers'. Such 'psykers' are well-documented across the Solar System, with both the Mechanocracy of Russia and the New Frenco Empire employing them for psychological warfare, and the intelligence services of both countries using them as interrogators. However, the Psi-Corps is the only known military unit that consists solely of such psykers - with their proper function being a well-kept secret in the MAF. Even where they are based is not known to the majority of MAF sources, but some speculate that they are housed and trained at the OTAN Complex, the borderline-mythical seat of the Mechanocracy's reclusive head of state.

1st Imperial Guard

The 1st Guard legion, known by nicknames of "Blackshields" and "Silent Guardians", is renown for being the oldest Imperial Guard legion and entrusted with the Emperor's personal security back before the Age of War. For this reason, they would bear the Emperor's personal sigil as their insignia. They stood watch on the day the Emperor was assassinated in 2232, a failure that led to mass suicides within the legion, many troops and officers being unable to live with the disgrace. As penance for their failure, the entire legion would erase their heraldry and replace it with a plain black shield, deeming themselves unworthy of continuing to bear their beloved Emperor's sigil for their failure. As an additional mark of penance, all members of the legion would take an oath of silence (within military practicality), vowing to not utter a word until the death of their master would be completely avenged. Any new recruits in the legion are required to take the oath as well. These penances have since yielded them their respective nicknames.
Yet another penance the 1st Guard traditionally undertakes is never removing their helmets and revealing their faces in the presence of outsiders not from their legion, deeming themselves unworthy to show their faces after having failed the Emperor.

It is due to this oath of silence that practically all soldiers of the 1st Guard are installed with non-verbal comms augmentations, enabling them to effectively communicate via digital transmissions, thus reconciling their oath of honour with military practicality. They will only speak directly when addressed personally by the Empress, any other Sidh knowing better than to bother them with questions, the general public being well-aware of their oath. Any commander to whose forces a unit from the 1st Guard is attached will communicate in written form where two-way communication is required.

Unlike other Guard legions, the 1st Guard recognizes that few would be willing to join their ranks and observe the severe penances required of them, and hence does not actively recruit like the other legions do. Consequently, most of their members come from other Guard legions, having requested a transfer to undertake penance for some real or perceived failure, and distinguished Army veterans plagued by guilt over some past failure.

This sense of guilt and unworthiness has led troops of the 1st Guard to fight with complete disregard for personal safety, deliberately seeking redemption in death, and has consequently made them some of the most feared warriors in the galaxy. Their enemies know that stopping a force of the 1st Guard will invariably require it's complete destruction regardless of it's size or the hopelesness of their situation, and stopping a force of the Imperial Guard of any size is invariably much easier said than done.

---

13th Imperial Guard

The Empress's personal legion, members of the 13th Guard earned the distinction of providing her security during the legendary Flight of the Luminon in the early days of the Age of War. The young Empress, back then just heir-apparent, was touring the Imperium's fringe worlds in attempt to rally support of the colonists in support of her father in the ever-tensing succession dispute, when word of the Emperor's assassination reached her. Shortly thereafter, agents of the Traitor clans would make an attempt on her life. Narrowly escaping her father's fate by commandeering the Navy frigate "Luminon", she would make best speed back to New Aedun to claim the throne for herself and rally those still loyal to her father against the traitors. In the following two months, Luminon was incessantly pursued and repeatedly engaged by Traitor forces, only being rescued by the timely intervention of a 13th Guard naval detachment shortly before arrival on the embattled New Aedun.

Although it was traditional for the 1st Guard to carry out the personal security duties of the monarch, the 1st Guard refused the honour, deeming themselves unworthy over having failed to protect the Emperor, so the Empress instead selected the 13th Guard as her personal legion, which it has remained ever since. She would later personally command it in the battle of Hades Gates, which broke the tide of the human-Skargh invasion in 2245, and again in 2549, the first year of the Reconquest Wars, when the rebuilt Imperium returned with a vengeance to reconquer it's old territories.

---

Alpha Legion

The most legendary, and also perhaps the most infamous, of the Army's elite legions, the Alpha Legion is the oldest of the "alphabetic" legions (legions labelled by Greek alphabet letters rather than numbers), founded in the early days of the Imperium, and has fought in pretty much every major campaign and war the Imperium has been through. Known by many nicknames like the "Emperor's First" (their own preferred nickname), "Armored Fist of the Emperor", "Emperor's Wrath" and a string of much less flattering terms invented by enemies, the Alpha Legion is renown in equal measures for their battle-prowess and brutality.

Living up to their name, Alpha Legion is always seen spearheading planetary invasions, being the proverbial "first to enter, last to leave". Adept at terror tactics as well, they make it a point to never give quarter nor ask for one, and have become widely notorious for their involvement in various genocidal pacification campaigns in occupied territories. Likewise, they are known to have never retreated without an order in their history, being decimated almost to a man on several occasions, the proud survivors always reforging the legion from the most battle-hardened veterans of the Imperial Army.

While considered the worst collection of psychopaths and sadists in the galaxy even by many Sidhae, the Alphas are nonetheless deemed a necessary collection of psychopaths and sadists for their martial prowess that is on par with that of the Imperial Guard. Their mere presence is often enough to demoralize the enemy into retreating.

Alpha Legion wasn't always the merciless machine of death and genocide it is today, and were actually examples of chivalry before the Age of War. The unspeakable horrors and ravages of the Age of War gradually twisted the minds of the surviving legionnaires who would determine the legion's ways and policies in the future - seeing nothing but incessant war, genocide and destruction for many decades, the once noble soldiers of the Alpha Legion that were still alive would gradually become the twisted sadists associated with the legion today.

Because of their reputation and a line of very talented and famous commanders with great political influence, Alpha Legion has played a significant role in the Imperium's politics for a long time. Support or opposition by the Alpha Legion (and other elite legions in general) is a significant factor in General Assembly legislation process, considering how these legions are represented in the government as well, and often provide a very considerable backing to particular causes. The legion's current commander, archistrategos Arcadius Drax, is known for his extreme anti-human views and support for hardline politics. Ironically, he has formally lent his support and even himself suggested several reforms aiming to improve human status in the Imperium, something deemed ultra-liberal by Sidh standards - namely, the Empress's initiative of granting the humans in recently conquered human-majority regions limited citizenship (which is still being hotly debated and opposed), and the formation of the first all-human military unit within the Imperial Army, organized in a manner of a foreign legion, volunteers being attracted with generous pay, promises of land and limited Imperial citizenship. All these actions that detractors often label as ideological betrayal apparently have a greater purpose serving Imperial interests in the bigger scheme of things.

Some supporters have gone as far as to name Arcadius Drax as the potential successor of the Empress, but these borderline-treasonous remarks are dismissed by nearly all including Drax himself, who has stated that "despite his political influence and status, he shall always remain a humble servant of the Imperium and it's lawful leader, the glorious Empress of Sidhae".
Freedom doesn't mean being able to do as one please, but rather not to do as one doesn't please.

A fool sees religion as the truth. A smart man sees religion as a lie. A ruler sees religion as a useful tool.

The more God in one's mouth, the less in one's heart.

1st Tsar/Tsarina's Own Grenadier Guards
The most prestigious unit in the military, the Tsarina's Own was the first special forces unit in the history of the Empire. Those who want to enlist in the unit are required to have served on the front lines for at least five years, meaning that only veteran soldiers make up the unit. It has fought on the front lines in every war the Empire has ever fought in, consistently proving its worth in tasks thought to be impossible. It is currently stationed in Central Asia, mopping up the remnants of the Islamic Liberation Front, who sought to establish a Caliphate in Central Asia.

Obviously the first and most notable special unit of the Torsiedellie Military would be the Spetsnaz. The Spetsnaz has a reputation for being particularly brutal and efficient, and Spetsnaz training is very vigorous. The Spetsnaz have been deployed in every major conflict that Torsiedelle has been in from the Cold War and onward, and have operated successfully thanks to their knowledge of guerrilla tactics and willingness to go to extremes that other military units wouldn't.

After them comes the Iron Guard, the elite force commanded by the leader of Torsiedelle's military. The Iron Guard are similar to the Spetsnaz, though they're more concerned with domestic defense and "peacekeeping" than they are combat operations. The Iron Guard are distinguished by their pale blue or grey uniforms, much different from anything a regular Torsiedellie soldier would wear.

Lazuranian Old Guard
The most trained and ruthless of the army, these demons know only to kill and defend their nation at any cost. Like the Century Guards they for some reason eat human beings, but they are scary so we just let them. They are also seen executing men, women, and children alike and we neither approve or disapprove these myths, we would rather let out enemies find out for themselves in the bloody battlefields.

Lazuranian 1st Foreign Legion
The 2nd trained and ironically the nicest of the army, they have large shield which block enemy fire. A common tactic is letting the shield bearers go up the trenches and ask the garrison to surrender, it's very effective. They treat the prisoners and prisons like a gardener caring for his flowers or something, either this is one of the deadliest fighting force in Lazurania, or the deadliest care takers in Lazurania....

Are there any divisions in your military that stand out from the others (in terms of function, decoration, exploits, etc.)?

Given the sheer amount of exotic technology that one can test on a military unit and then have it make to the headliners, the 'unique units' used to be quite a thing but has since devalued to genericness due to a massive increase in their numbers and the sheer amount of ideas we know but haven't tried yet. Also due to the computerization of training in the military, there exists no such thing as 'elite training' so such units are out of the question.

The Guards Units of the SAF still stand out however; these are units that have actually proven their worth (with help from exotic tech or two) and gone through horrors of fighting other multiversal empires, eldritch gods, SACTO1 and anomalous individuals. They also have their fair share of memeification.

1Intel suggests SAF troops have actually been point inserted into Asigna with no one knowing what the fuck happened; they certainly got through Burma though.

Why are they notable?

Besides heroic exploits of one unit, their unique weapons and fighting style, the amount of memes attached to one is also quite notable and the primary factor. Or just the name of such an unit; the divisions named 'Mia Utopia', 'Cebuano', 'Multilaser Masturbation Fcukfest', 'Musketmen from Starships' and such attract attention at the first auditory sensing of their name. They deserve it quite well too.

Apart from the usual guards unit in the Zhouranese People's Army (elite units that receive better equipment and higher status), we do have some notable units that stand out.

Image
Armored Guards Unit

The Armored Guards Regiment is an elite rapid assault unit in the Zhouranese People's Army Ground Force. Established on August 17, 1972, the regiment has strong emphasis on operational mobility and sustainability. Their task is to penetrate through enemy defenses, as well as perform pre-emptive attack on key enemy military targets in the rear area in order to paralyze or disrupt the enemy's preparation for an offensive. The unit has three brigades and three divisions.

Organization

- 1st Armored Guards Assault Brigade: Headquartered in Ouyang. Established on August 17, 1972.

- 2nd Armored Guards Assault Brigade: Headquartered in Tanzhou. Established on August 17, 1972.

- 3rd Armored Guards Assault Brigade: Headquartered in Anjing. Established on November 5, 1972.

- 1st Armored Guards Assault Division: Headquartered in Ouyang. Established on August 17, 1972.

- 2nd Armored Guards Assault Division: Headquartered in Tanzhou. Established on November 5, 1972.

- 3rd Armored Guards Assault Division: Headquartered in Tanzhou. Established on November 21, 1972.

MSIR-33

Mobile Special Infantry Regiment 33 (MSIR-33) is an elite special forces unit in the Zhouranese People's Army Ground Force. The unit, composed of two divisions and two brigades, can deploy rapidly and are trained to be extremely flexible in the special missions they are assigned, specializing in skills such as direct action, reconnaissance, and rapid assaults. MSIR-33 was established in early 1972.

Organization

- 1st Mobile Special Infantry Division: Headquartered in Ouyang, formed on February 5, 1972.

- 2nd Mobile Special Infantry Division: Headquartered in Yanjing, formed on February 6, 1972.

- 1st Mobile Special Infantry Brigade: Headquartered in Ouyang, formed on February 23, 1972.

- 2nd Mobile Special Infantry Brigade: Headquartered in Ouyang, formed on February 25, 1972.

Combat Assault Group Sword of Peng Dehuai

Named after an honorable Chinese general who served in both the Chinese Civil War and Korean War, this temporary combined arms formation in the ZPA Ground Force was created on December 27, 2038, during the Sino-Zhouranese War.

A Combat Assault Group refers to a large, temporary, combined arms formation created in Zhouran in late 1938. Using a combination of armored vehicles, infantry, and artillery elements, each group is generally organized for a particular task or operation. A combat assault group typically range in size from 500 to 30,000 troops and is led by a group commander who is assisted by two deputy group commanders.

During the war, CAG Sword of Peng Dehuai was sent to Tianjin to create shorter and quicker path towards Beijing. Because the ZPA was technologically more superior than the Chinese PLA, the combat assault group had cut a path of destruction through Chinese ground forces. By the time China surrendered on January 5, 2039, CAG Sword of Peng Dehuai was already in Beijing. The formation was decommissioned on January 8, 2039.

The BNA's notable units aren't exactly known for their military merit (though the majority of them have had great heroic exploits and deserve the status well); practically any unit that has a band or a singer gets plopped up. Most also claimed their glory in the '90s when aliens were attacking on one side and separatists on the other.

  • The 1st Guards Mechanized Infantry Brigade 'Panthers' is the primary example of such a veteran unit forged from the fires of the Krajina War; founded by Serb volunteers in Bijeljina the brigade started off as a mere generic dobrovoljci light infantry unit but moved on to acquire armoured vehicles and expanded rapidly in size, engaging in various operations such as rescuing the village of Smoluca (where it was named the Panthers in honor of a commander KIA) and assisting the BNA in larger operations against separatists, spearheading offensives in Tešanj and also relieving the Bedemslav loyalist forces in Teslić. The brigade also fought against NATO intervention forces southwest of Zvijezda-Zenica in 1995, acquiring several TSFs in the process. In 1996 it was moved to the north and participated in the final offensive against Hrvatskan separatists, liberating Daruvar in March 1997.

The Panthers' deeds did not stop there; after the end of the BETA threat to humanity it safeguarded settlers repopulating what was formerly Magyarország, and also assisted in rebuilding in Romania. After 2012 it finally returned to Bijeljina where it stayed for a few years before being called back into war in Romania and later against Magyarskayan forces in Vojvodina. In 2034 it was part of the force entering Kecskegrad, Magyarskaya forcing a temporary end to the war.

The brigade received Mechanized Infantry status in 1998, and was officially incorporated into the BNA in 2002. It has 5,600 troops, 620 armoured fighting vehicles and 320 artillery pieces as of 2048.
  • The 5th Kozara Mountain Infantry Brigade is another such example; though it remained light infantry and only upgraded to Mountain Infantry in 2024. Probably in the Carpathians or something.
  • The 11th Light Infantry Brigade 'Iron Fists' is much less traditional. Comprised entirely of mechanically augmented individuals, the 11th Brigade excelled in close combat situations which it got often into. Formed in 2035, it is relatively new compared to other units, yet has engaged in a number of important operations. The 11th Brigade fought against Magyarskayan forces in northern Vojvodina, where near Bezdan they were forced into melee combat with enemies and as the metal hands tore apart the unsuspecting aggressors they gained notoriety among the Magyarskayan army. Numerous attempts to encircle and destroy the 11th Brigade failed (though no one suggested an EMP attack), and soon these 'Men of Iron' terrified the enemy at sight. Besides this, they also engaged in fighting in Romania.
  • There was this Carigrad Mechanized Brigade, no numbers, no official corps it belonged to, nothing. And it did anything but defending Carigrad (European Istanbul occupied by Bedemslavia since 1959). Formed in 1982 it acquired the first TSFs and engaged in a variety of missions, all involving blowing up BETA, and due to no records of their troop movements no one really knew when or where they turned up. Legend even has it they went to East Germany one time, and you know the rest.

The brigade also held Zagreb for a few years against Hrvatskan separatist forces in the 90s, probably the longest recorded stay they had. Also, part of the force destroying the Budapest hive. Also, part of the force holding Turkey before its transition to Erdogan.

In 2030 the brigade resurfaced and started appearing more frequently outside Bedemslav borders, in Polska most of the time, though it had abandoned most of the TSFs it once used. After 2042 the brigade moved its activity area to Russia where it assisted Synkomese forces against Tectonian and Athrugadhi forces and appeared quite frequently, setting up headquarters in Ryazan openly for a while. With the ceding of Russia to the Mechanocracy by the Synkom, the brigade is withdrawing its assets (which it seems to have been rooted a bit too deeply in Russia for their period of strategic transplantation) and expected to fully withdraw by early 2049.
  • the 204th Mountain Brigade, like many other veteran brigades, retained its number which it had during the '90s wars. It is most notable for holding out the longest in sieges with worst equipment possible. Originating in Bosnia, it started off as a brigade formed by volunteering Teslić residents, later like the Panthers expanded in size. As separatist forces, assisted by a Turkish army-in-exile detachment, closed in on Teslić, the brigade defended the city with all its effort, holding out for a year until the siege was relieved in 1994. With only assault rifles, outdated armoured vehicles without even a tank, almost no energy weapons (a few gatling lasers were dropped via air support) and limited supplies, it was considered a miracle they survived.

In 1995 the brigade was moved to the northwestern direction, where it headed for Bosanska Krupa, held by separatists. It conquered the town with ease, but the loyalist forces behind were ambushed by detachments of the legendary 5th Corps of ARBiH and so the brigade was on its own. BNA failures in the area worsened the situation. The brigade held for 4 months before making a close escape, this time while with slightly better equipment were much under-equipped compared to the 5th Corps.

The brigade entered Daruvar in 1997 and held on until the larger force could enter.

For all we know that was not the end of the legendary brigade with a three-man-band known for quality music, and what followed was that in 2026 when the unit was stationed in Carigrad, as any unit had to do at least once for four months, the 4th Bedemslav-Turkish war broke out and the brigade was the first to cross the straits. BNA failures however caused them (and a force of 2 other brigades) to get stranded near Adapazari, and they held for a month before making their own advances into the city (albeit with heavy casualties). The BNA kept up though.

The brigade is now stationed in Teslić.

There's also the Semberija infantry brigade, the 300-TSF squadron of Sparti, the Kriti artillery corps, the Varna flotilla, the similarly named 204th brigade of Vukovar, the Mikonos Island Raider Brigade, the Titograd city defence which held against the Combine for quite a while and plenty of others. The sheer amount of 'notable' units have made the term devalue pretty much.

We have the Sornholm Regiment, a regiment of soldiers supposedly led by Edward Sornholm, Prime Minister and war hero during World War 2, himself. They were known for their ground-breaking operations against the Japanese, which made liberating northeast Verdiga easier. Majority are Special Operations Commandos (SOCs), but there are also regular troops.

We also have the 12th Division, an elite group of soldiers whose claim to fame is during the Verdiger Civil War.

The Honor Guards of Verdiga is called the Vargheim Regiment (formerly the Grahn Regiment), named after Karl Vargheim. The Vargheim Regiment's dress uniform consists of:
-a navy blue shako hat with, reserved for officers, a plume (white for warrant officers and non-generals and red for generals) and the logo of the Verdiger Armed Forces on it (basically the Coat of Arms with a laurel leaf below it).
-navy blue dress uniform with gold buttons, two thick gold stripes in the sleeves, near the wrist, and ranks on the upper sleeve (for enlisted soldiers) or shoulder boards with ranks on it (for officers), for generals, the latter with tassels.
-a black belt with a golden buckle
-a white sash
-a pair of white gloves
-a pair of black shoes, regularly polished

Plutonian Missile Program- The first branch of the military made. They handle the missiles.

World War Ravagers- The most prestigious branch of the military. Got their name from singlehandedly winning World War IV back on earth.

The Plutonian Eviscerators- Most expensive branch of the military to run. Does very little of actual notability.

EMP Reapers- Named for wearing creepy black robes all the time and their specialty in EMP weapons. Known for blowing things up whenever they see something that might resemble a swastika.

502nd- Notable to being sued 7 times by Disney for copyright. Only lost twice.

Mr. Bones' Wild Ride- Their general is known for making very long speeches that "never end."

Sgt. Anger's Squadron- Hated by Metalheads throughout the planet.

Unit cohesion was discarded in the reforms of 1954 for fear of warlordism (a form of militant regionalism); all military units are completely re-organized every sixth year to prevent it.

The Royal Army of Nortend has more than one hundred regiments of foot. The most notable is probably the King's Own Guards. Formed in 1652, it has been in continual existence for nearly four centuries and is recognised as the most senior regiment of foot in the Royal Army. The regiment is assigned to the protection of the Sovereign, as well as public duties. It provides the Palace of Cadell Guard, the Castle of Leinne Guard and the Street Guard. It is the main infantry unit responsible for the defence of Cadell-proper-upon-Nort. The regiment wears a dark maroon uniform, contrasted with the normally dark navy blue of other units, as well as a stiffened hat black felt with white plumes on the left. The hat badge is the King George's Crown.

We have the Argent Division, the most elite of the Paladin Order's army. Only the best of the best is accepted, and they are generally considered the Honor Guards of the Paladin Order.

We also have the Light Brigade, a powerful shock-troop regiment.

2nd Armored Division

The 2nd Armored Division is one of only two armored divisions within the Padnaki Army and is notable for playing a much more active role in the ongoing civil unrest that's overtaken many areas of the country. While the 1st Armored Division is equipped with much more modern equipment and considered one of the highest readiness units in the army, it has been held back from participating in combat operations against insurgents where it would be forced to move out of position around the capital leaving major combat operations elsewhere in the country to the 2nd armored division. Under the command of General Prisna Lui, nicknamed 'the rommel of the jungle' by several newspapers, the unit has displayed an unusual degree of professionalism and skill compared to many other lower readiness army units and as a reward for his service leading this unit, Lui was promoted to a senior advisory position within the National Peace and Prosperity Committee of the Padnaki Armed Forces's Military Affairs Office where he is a senior authority on armored warfare. This appointment was directly given by Senior General Dieu Duc Viet and show's the close relationship the two men enjoy.

The 2nd Armored Division is fairly pedestrian in it's equipment when compared to the 1st Armored Division, operating Type-69's, Type-62s and BMP-1s as it's main combat arms. The 2nd Armored Division is comprised of 4 Armored Regiments, the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th respectively, and two mechanized regiments, the 87th and 91st respectively. The division's artillery capability is made up of a mix of 2S1 Gvozdikas and 2S3 Akatsiyas, with MLRS capability provided by Type 81 122mm rocket launchers. Training within the division is unusually good for the army, with daily drills and large scale exercises when out of combat held much more regularly then is normal for other large units.

Much of the 2nd Armored Division's notoriety came through it's involvement in Operation Iron Storm where, with the support of the 48th Independent Infantry Regiment and several other smaller infantry units, it lead the assault on several insurgent strongholds in eastern Padnak. The operation demonstrated operational level command skill that had never really been seen outside of some of the later stages of the Padnaki Civil War. Notable moment's from the operation included when the 2nd's supply train was left purposefully open to attack, Lui knowing that the insurgent's were desperate for supplies after months of heavy fighting, to bait the insurgent's into leaving the protection of the deep jungle and to venture out into the open farm land where they were cut off from escape by rapidly moving tank and mechanized units and summarily slaughtered and when, during the final assault on the insurgent stronghold of Bou-cho, artillery was so closely coordinated with tank and ifv movement that one captured insurgent insurgent remarked "It was like a great storm had descended upon us, one second we were surrounded by explosions and rockets and the next our trenches were being collapsed by tanks". One of most defining characteristics of the 2nd Armored Division under the command of General Prisna Lui is that it used tactics often thought too advanced for the Padnaki Army and often without modern communication systems.

72nd Moctezuma Shock Brigades

The first military unit formed under the new Red Aztecs regime - the 72nd Moctezuma Shock Brigades. It is equipped with the latest, state-of-the-art technology from the Aztlan Rouge and is reported to have killed over one thousand Mexican loyalist soldiers during the Revolutionary War. After the war, it was responsible for killing off all the "Class Enemies" which were people who could read, people that had glasses, people who had soft hands and the remainder of the bourgeois social class. It was then responsible for the security of Moctezuma - the new ruler of the Aztlan Rouge, which it takes its name from. It is reported to have committed crimes against humanity - including gassing of minorities, killing for fun and torture of state dissidents. The 72nd Moctezuma Shock Brigades is a force to be reckoned with.

The Eclipse Regiment of the Eclixian Armed Defense are trained in groups of four, with each member of the teams learning a different specialty - Engineer, Medic, Demolitions and Communication. They are trained all day every day and follow a ruthless training regime in which soldiers work from 8am to 6pm every day and have no leave. Those who do get the honour to join the hundred strong Regiment carry the badge of a blank circle with a star slightly obscured behind it, signifying an eclipse.

Are there any divisions in your military that stand out from the others (in terms of function, decoration, exploits, etc.)? Why are they notable? (If your nation doesn't have a military, are there any paramilitary/police units that follow the given criteria?)

The Carriebean Armed Forces is 3,000,000 strong, with 900,000 active and 2,100,000 reserve troops, there are several elite units that go back all the way to our dark past of the CRA in the 1960's

Carriebean Special Forces 13
the feared Naginata wielding terrorist Bodyguards of the emperor, called to do the most daring assignments since their founding in 1520 to protect the paranoid King Zachary I of assassinatio, they are now 21,000 strong, and stationed all over the world, they are the elite terrorists, in the old days, the emperor would kidnap local men and boys from villages and families, they would be trained 6 days a week, 15 hours a day until they are the best of the best, now, the Emperor puts out adds online for CSF 13, they are ordered to a location, where they are drugged and taken to the Imperial Palace, they are then trained until they are the best of the Best and it usually starts with 10,000 participants, and ends up with just 15 being picked monthly until there are 1,000 participants, these 1,000 are then executed and the remaining elite are to go on dangerous assignments, spreading religion via a bullet or bomb. they are one of the most feared units in Carriebean, and the mere mention of their name is enough to get even the most rough rebels to go back to work.

We have the Monster Hunter Corps, a corps in the army dedicated to hunting monsters, from wild dogoos to dragons.

We also have the Gamindustrian Expeditionary Commands: Asia-Pacific Commaand, Middle Eastern Command and European Command. They are led by HAdm. Kei Takahashi, HGen. Joseph Fuller and HGen. Yukari Hashimoto, respectively. They are tasked with defending the interests of the area.

We also have various commando units, as well as the Honor Guard corps.
