Cities within the Galladian Empire.

Capital Cities

Bastioforre (Capital of Gallade)

Image

The overall capital of the Galladian Empire, Bastioforre is the home of both the ruling Beauford family and the Galladian House of Nobles. Situated in what was once the dark, snow capped north of the motherland, Bastioforre rarely saw sunlight due to the almost constant cloud cover. However, thanks to the implementation of the artificial atmosphere placed around the Empire, sunlight now streams down upon the streets. Renown for it's dedication to the arts, Bastioforre is home to many of the Empire's most talented artists, musicians, actors and writers. Has a population of 245 million Aelune, making it the second largest city in the Empire. Became the capital in 1608 (56,000 BC by earth standards) after a military coup forced the Beaufords to evacuate Del'rai and head north to this city fortress. A largely changed city, Bastioforre has modernized over the last few decades, representing the advances of the Galladian Empire.

Fenturra (Capital of Gallades Loyal)

The largest city within the Empire with a population of 336.4 million, Fenturra is the industrial capital of the Galladian Empire. It is within Fenturra that the Empire's famous space shuttles were developed, that are now being sold domestically to both space ports and consumers. Situated in the middle of a large wasteland (that the city itself is mainly responsible for creating), Fenturra is completely reliant on the shipping of raw materials into the city, which are delivered to the many ports choking the manmade canals leading to the city. The two largest sectors of the city are currently arms manufacturing and ICT. Citizens who live in Fenturra are almost wholly employed in the private sector.

Recondia (Capital city of Verandra)

Recondia has a population of just 65.5 million, but has become the fastest growing city within the Empire. Dubbed to be the Empire's next center of commerce (the current being Camp Beauford, see below), Recondia has been increasingly opening its borders to foreign investment, and currently 35% of the city is either being constructed or revamped. The city has recently opened its first space port (with the assistance of Fenturra) and boasts several world class airports and seaports. The cities income relies almost totally on corporations, with 70% of taxes coming in from private enterprise compared to 24% residential and just 6% industrial. However, Recondia is expanding without heavily affecting the environment unlike many cities within the colonies. Green innovation is encouraged, and excess pollution penalized. Citizens of Recondia are employed chiefly in commerical enterprise, followed by the public sector.

Major Cities

Del'rai

Del'rai was the former capital of the Galladian Empire before the military coup of 1608. Situated in the marshy south of Gallade, Den'rai is a canal city, with no roads for cars and trucks. Therefore, most business is done through its ports. Libertas Majoria relies heavily on tourism, with its tropical climate and stunning architecture attracting millions of holiday makers each year. The city is also a major trading hub, with goods being shipped to and from the colonies. Steeped in history, the old Imperial Palace can be found in the center of the city. Has a population of 56.2 million. Citizens of Del'rai generally find employment in the public sector, followed by trading and tourism industries.

Camp Beauford

Camp Beauford, situated 350 miles west of Fenturra in Gallades Loyal, is the current city of commerce for the Galladian Empire. With a population of 131.3 million, Camp Beauford is a symbol for the wealth of the Industrial Colony of Gallades Loyal. The largest corporations in Camp Beauford tend to be casinos, followed by financial institutions and insurance companies. However, commercial development in the city has slowed in recent years, due to the increasing presence of Recondia and the cities decision to rely more heavily on industry. As a result, Recondia is expected to replace Camp Beauford as the center for commerce by the end of the decade. Citizens of Camp Beauford find employment in major commercial institutions, followed by the army and the public sector.

Raelia

Image

Raelia is perhaps one of the oldest cities in the Galladian Empire. Situated in the Laderre Province, Raelia is unique for it's stunning union of traditional Aelune architecture and modern technology. Boasts a population of 26 million. Notable for the fact that the current Empress, Queen Matrisha Beauford, was conceived in the Spring Palace situated just outside of the cities borders. Hosts an annual festival celebrating the liberation of Raelia from human invaders during the Human Rebellion of 1542.
