The Saikōsai Fleet on order of Military Commander Kimura has deployed a contingent of troops to Cardia Islands currently under the Silvan Confederacy, per request of the local government. Initial information revels that these troops will be staying in the Confederacy for an indefinite amount of time. Rida Tanaka has declined to make any comment on the deployment at this time but his aid has assured the public that there is nothing more to this than a response to a friend request.

Additional Troops from Akishio have set out to reinforce the city along with a construction crews, prompting some to believe that the Silvians have permitted the Ansu Military the right to build a base on their land. No information has come in from the Silvan Confederacy at this time and some people think Military Commander Kimura has overstepped his bounds.

Commonwealth hosts tank unveiling during joint-exercises

Also being tested was a variant for the
Commonwealth engineers with its 152mm gun.

The sound of gun fire and the roars of engines could be heard echoing south of the capital today, but no one seemed concerned or even remotely alarmed.

There was no reason for concern, as the sounds heard were merely the product of a mixture of live-fire and dummy exercises conducted in the MoD's training facility; the Lockworth Plains.

Being tested in this several hundred square-mile enclosure, were hundreds of soldiers and tank crews from the Commonwealth Armed Forces and the Segentova Army, along with a few dozen from Grathum Defence Systems.

The two armies, along with the arms manufacturer, were demonstrating and testing the capabilities of Grathum's latest development, the Aeron Mk.II Light Tank.

The Commonwealth Mk.II Aeron is a
highly capable, air deployable light tank.

A recent addition to both military's arsenal, the Aeron Mk.II offers an array of advantages overs its predecessor, featuring many requests from both militaries.

The Mk.II has a shorter 120mm barrel for greater portability, an improved engine and greater armour and protection, with an optional addition of active protective systems and reactive armour.

Commencing with a demonstration from Grathum Defence Systems, the company's demonstrator vehicle was put through its paces, showing off its manoeuvrability across a multi-terrain course, then moving on to display a series of well placed shots against moving and static targets.

Military units from both the Commonwealth and Segentova then shared experiences and tactics about how to use the vehicle, with Commonwealth Commanders riding inside Segentova crewed vehicles to give pointers and advice.

The Commonwealth has fielded the Aeron Mk.I for many years and shared their valuable experiences with their Segentova counterparts.

After a few hours of orientation and a friendly shooting competition using live ammunition, both armies joined together in a joint mock-exercise against an "Army" of T-64 and BMP crewed by soldiers from the Experimental Tank Corps of the Commonwealth Army.

Over several exercises, the two allies carried out a number of scenarios, ranging from long range tank-to-tank engagement, to urban combat in a simulated environment.

In the exercises, no live fire was exchanged, instead a series of lasers, sensors and pyrotechnics were used to simulate a real engagement.

"Both men and women of the Commonwealth and Segentovian Armed Forces demonstrated a great partnership today," stated Army Sergeant Major Patrick McKowski.

"Today was a testament to the professionalism and team-building capabilities of our two great nations."

The two armies may be seen together more frequently after the two nations signed a Mutual Defence Pact last month and as the defence contractors of the Commonwealth start talks in Segentova in a bid to sign lucrative munition and equipment contracts for the military.

Queen Announces Annual New Year's Party

From December 27 to January 5, the Queen has announced that she will be hosting multiple international leaders for holiday celebration, philanthropic activities, and the furthering of peace. This "party" will take place at the Palace of Peace and will span a multitude of activities, such as concerts, balls, and other entertainment. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the completion of the Palace of Peace, the Queen has announced a national holiday from January 10 (regular start of Spring Semester) to January 17th, in conjunction with the Department of Public Education.

Furthermore, the Queen has allowed the Stars of Hope Holiday Parade to end at the Historic Palace of Government. All citizens are invited to attend the festivities and parade, which will take place on January 2.

Energia Nucleare!

The Milano Lombardia Republic has announced that it will be buying three "Iron Class" Nuclear Power Plants from Oster Consortium for Energy Solutions in the State of Ostehaar. These power plants are supposed to account for a large portions of power used in the Republic, specifically the Republics Southern Provinces. The Republic is going to solidify the purchase in late Dicembre and the date for the power plants to be finished is yet to be decided. However the current Administration seems to think that this is a very good move for renewable energy but of course we will have to wait until the plants are built and working to decide whether or not this will benefit us or the President's mistake will "radiate" across the Republic.

OSTER CITIZEN EXECUTED IN THE STREETS OF ROVKA, LÖVSK; GOVERNMENT VOWS ACTION

Earlier today at noon, Dihn Gahler, the manager of the Rovka branch of Waterfall Electronics, has been murdered by a raging Lövskian mob in the main street of Rovka. This is the latest in an outbreak of killings in the struggle of the armed Lövskian opposition against its government.

The violent, protesting masses vandalized the local Waterfall Electronics offices and took all workers inside as what they called "prisoners". The mob reportedly repeated the words "metal for blood", referring to what they consider as exploitation of their lands by some Oster electronics companies, the Oster government and even the local, Lövskian government. The government has denied those allegations many times in the past.

Minister of Defense Aarin Dulikh responded to this shocking event: "We're all astounded by this violence and hatred, all towards people who have done nothing wrong, nothing other than contributing to the development of this god-forsaken island." Minister Dulikh clarified that the government would do what is expected from it: "To defend the citizens of Ostehaar, home and abroad."

Vancouvia Looks Ahead

The Vancouvian Congress released an statement today clarifying Vancouvia's position on the regional stage. The statement was more than 3000 words long and summarized various aspects of Vancouvian policy that would go into effect in 2016. Among other things, Congress announced Vancouvia's "increasing commitment to free market policies," a shift from a "defensive military doctrine" to a "calculated militaristic system of projecting power abroad," and a greater emphasis on securing international allies and trade partners.

"We must fully bring Vancouvia into the 21st century. We must seek out our nation's friends and allies, we must expand our trade opportunities, we must back free trade, and we must continue to support prosperity in not only our own country but others' abroad," ran the opening paragraph.

The statement also brought attention to the growing rise of communism within the region. Congress acknowledged this pressing problem and highlighted Vancouvia's need to combat it: "History has taught us again and again that a state cannot steal resources from its people only to parcel out a fraction back without damaging the livelihoods of its citizens. Economies are fueled by human incentive, not a false desire for equality. Vancouvia stands against any nation that plagues its people with this debilitating farce."

Surprisingly, Congress was silent on the I.D. occupation and every Senator we reached out to declined for comment. As the I.D. begins to calm down, many are wondering what role, if any, Vancouvian will fill in the rebuilding of the state.

In other new, a bold move was made by the Claymore Class Submarine FNS Rage. Earlier tonight the sub breached the water near the southern Pacifier colony. Safeguarding Cardia II

Following discussion with the Silvan government, a newly created company from Ansu will begin preliminary measures to start drilling for oil on Cardia. Once oil drilling operations are fully underway the Silvian people are expected to a see a doubling in their GDP, not to mention an influx of Ansu workers who will be running the drilling operation.

Additionally a larger contingent of Ansu soldiers have arrived on the island with the intent of safeguarding both the local people and the Ansu workers from nefarious acts. The Leader of the Silvian Confederacy has gone on record to thank the Ansu troops who are now providing his island with additional defense.

Slight changes have been made in the Silvan Confederacy's suffrage laws to cut down on voter fraud, an important consideration given their upcoming election.

CPS to become most funded intelligence agency in the region, Retaliation against Domanania attacks

President Antionette along with the Estates have begun slowly increasing CPS funding since October. The main goal here is to make CPS the most funded intelligence agency in the region by June of 2016 as they are already close. They are pulling money from the military, not a significant amount but just enough to satisfy CPS's growing needs. With the increased funding will come advanced technology, better intel, and an overall more powerful CPS. President Antionette has reassured the nation that the military will hardly be affected, if at all as it is currently receiving more money then it needs.

President Antionette briefly addressed the nation last night concerning the bombing of the îles Du Soleil by Domanania. Her speech is as follows:

I stand here before you with great grief. Our neighbor to the north Domanania has cowardly attacked the îles Du Soleil from the safety of an attack submarine. The 25 missiles launched landed extremely close to Ville de l'eau. A town which supplied the people of our nation with plentiful food. 18 lives were lost, 10 of those were noble CPS agents who were doing their duty of protecting the island when they were unexpectedly attacked. This will not go unheard, this is being seen as an attack on PPU soil, the first in our history. I send out my deepest condolences for the families of those lost. I am working closely with the Director of Defense to address this issue and I promise we will not stand down.

In response CPS launched their first ever large scale public attack and earlier today they sent in F-35's using a swarm of MALDS to target air defenses, they then sent out JSOW's which targeted threats and pre planned targets using cluster bomb warheads and finally Harms attacked air defense nodes. All of which took place near the Domanania city of Xodanta. Loosing only 2 aircraft and successfully coming in contact with multiple religious sites and farmland within the area CPS considers the attack a success. They attacked something meaningful to us and so the PPU attacked something meaningful to them.

In response to the recent sudden and deliberate attack on Milano by the nation of Ansu, the Asenev has officially condemned this act of wanton aggression against human dignity. Standing in front of the Senate, Chancellor Pavlov Vladilen announced in no uncertain terms that he intends for the Republic to stand with the nation and people of Milano, threatening sanctions and––he insinuated––military action the attack on Brescia did not cease. His speech was met with rousing applause and cheers from the assembled Senators––and is being cited as an example of strong leadership and character. However, underlying the enthusiasm was serious concern from landowning and industrial families in Asenev. War would endanger shipping lanes and industrial contracts forged with Ansu in the previous years, especially regarding the sale of coal and oil. Most critically, the move could endanger the Republic's relationship with Randmar, a critical trading partner friendly to both Ansu and the Republic.

It is unclear whether such concerns will materialize into factional opposition to Vladilen's unequivocal anti-Ansu stance, but persistent animosity over Russian-Japanese conflicts have left their mark on the Ansu-Asenev relationship, casting them as historical rivals and enemies. In this moment of heightened outrage and passion over recent events, to voice a pro-Ansu stance would be tantamount to political suicide. We will have to see how events unfold.

Further, a number of trusted Senators aligned with Vladilen have journeyed from the capital by plane in order to parlay with other nations who show an anti-Ansu stance, showing a willingness to take part in an international coalition against their old rival.

Expansion to the Navy

Following the beginning of the peaceful absorption of the Milano People into the Ansu Empire as an Autonomous territory, the Government has seen fit to order five new Akabuma destroyer-escorts to help improve the countries ability to protect its new trade routes. These ships are being paid for by a loan taken out from The Pacific Peace Union and steps are already being taken to see to paying off those debts.

The Government has declined any further comments on the matter, merely stating that the situation in Milano is under control and that no fighting will take place in the new protectorate. The country has, however, yet sign an agreement of protection but Leader Tanaka has assured the people on multiple occasions that this is the best course of action for everyone involved.

Voyageur is Taken!!

In response to the bold moves taken a few days ago by the Pacific Peace union to bomb religious sites on Doman soil, the Grand Congress had to take action.

On the night of Dec. 13th at 5:45AM a fleet of Doman ships slipped into Pacifier waters near the Pacifier city of Voyageur. At 5:58AM two Pride Class submarines broke the surface of the water, just outside the waters of the slummy pacifier city. Their launch bay doors opened, and with incredible prejudice, began to fire directly upon the city, with only the flames of the rockets illuminating the area and the red glow of the explosions lighting up the city.

Constantly they would fire, one missile after another. At the time of 6:15AM after constant missile fire directly into the city, planes from the Vulture Class aircraft carrier the FNS Xodia and two Mountain Class assault ships; the FNS Taiga and Beq began to fly over the city. With a total of 20 aircraft (10 from the Xodia and 10 from both the Taiga and Beq), they began to drop explosive pay loads over the city, destroying possible shelters and places of cultural significance. Missiles from the submarines ceased to fire at 6:30AM and fell back to outside the bay area to guard against any sort of fleet.

Constant bombs and missiles from the aircraft continued to light up the city. The other 40 total aircraft on the carriers and assault ships were on reserve to guard against any intercepting force that never came. With the city beginning to look like one out of WW2 Europe, the doman strike force continued to strike with untold prejudice. At 6:45AM, the number of explosions slowed down as only 8 aircraft remained in the air as interceptors and to strike any undamaged targets.

When all seemed quite and done, with only the roar of lingering jets, the battle seemed to be over. But as the sun began to rise at 7:15AM, any survivors were horrified.

In the red and orange glow of the rising sun over the waters, They witnessed hundreds of landing craft on the beaches and in the abandoned port. They were unloading thousands of Doman troops and hundreds of LAV. Several Assault ships lay out in the bay unloading more and more. With helicopter support some landed directly into the city. Doman marines have now begun to invade Voyageur.

By 7:40AM a total of 10,000 Doman Marines have entered the city and occupied it. Atop the tallest most stable building was placed the Doman Flag. The soldiers swept through the ruins of the city to round up any surviving stragglers and solidify their control over the port areas.

The City lay in ruins, and the terrible air pollution was still lingering, but had been cleared by the leveling of hundreds of buildings. By 8:15AM, the city was under complete control by Doman Forces. Several pictures were taken by field reporters of the ruined city.





Hundreds of buildings were leveled and an estimated 15,000 Dead in the initial bombings. And another estimated 50,000 dead from aircraft launched attacks. In total, with sub strikes, aircraft, and doman forces, it has been estimated that 80,000 people have died, 2,000 have been captured and imprisoned. Nearly a dozen light naval ships guard the resting fleet in the bay and will protect it and act as a naval bombardment platform.

At 9:30AM, Marcius Brenshal delivered this statement:

"We have tried to keep this feud between our countries with little loss of life. We initiated attacks on low population areas with simple means of shock tactics. But with our last attacks, we were returned an act of untold arrogance and complete lack of empathy for religion. The Pacifier government launched an attack that destroyed several ancient religious sites, resulting in the death of 50 religious practitioners. This is an act that we could not let go unpunished. So, earlier this morning, Doman Marines stormed the beaches of the Pacifier heathens, and occupied the city of Voyageur. This is a show of force, to let them know that they are heavily outmatched. We can attack them anywhere, at anytime. We were trying to have civil conflict. But with the destruction of parts of Xodia Doma's original tomb, we could not be silent. They have now spit in the face of our religion. And now, we have one of their largest cities."

With roaring applause, the mighty leader was supported wholeheartedly by his people. Some Doman troops have also pushed past the boarder into norther Pacifier territory, threatening to also take Riviere. And in the west, several strike craft have located the Pacifier oil fields and begun to prod the defenses as 20,000 soldiers march further south to engage them.

Today is a grim, but necessary day. Despite the hate, we still pray for those Pacifiers who lost their life due to their governments lack of religious empathy.

New Research Pact!!

In other news, Domanania and Xrevaro have entered a mutual research pact for animal and plant research. To solidify this agreement, for the first time in Doman history, a foreign country has been given the infamous Black Mist plant. They have agreed to use it to create a more advanced and stable anti-toxin. This is a glorious day for future medicine. Hopefully they can find proper medicinal uses for such a deadly plant!

PORT GRAY - Representatives of the Royal Family confirmed this morning that Heir Apparent Nathan Lucer died last night in a traffic collision. Nathan Lucer was the second son of Prince James Lucer II, and the only surviving one of the Prince's children. Representatives said that they did not expect foul play, but that an ongoing inquiry is underway. The representatives further claim that the heir's driver is expected to be found at fault.

This accident is the second time in the past decade that the nation has lost an heir. Nathan's older brother, Arthur, passed away in 2006 of complications following a bout with pneumonia. The passing of Heir Apparent Nathan has reignited speculation as to the destiny of the Lucer dynasty. At the age of 71, Prince James is unexpected to have any more children, and the expectation is for his cousin, Mary Wessich, to take the throne. This would end the Lucer dynasty of princes that has existed since the formation of the nation in 1872.

Prince James has not made a comment on the tragedy, but representatives for the crown asked that the people of the country mourn with their Prince.

SEVERE WEATHER IN NORTHERN DISTRICTS; FARMERS FEAR AGRICULTURAL DISASTER

Less than a day into this winter's first severe weather system, reports of infrastructure damage and local power outages have already clogged the servers of the "Northern Districts Situation Room", opened especially for the upcoming storm. The storm "Kota" - as it is nicknamed by many Osters - struck West Ostehaar this Afternoon, and it is expected to affect the northern parts of the country in the next few days. "Special alerts and district-level preparations were apparently not enough," residents told reporters this evening, calling the situation "a serious malfunction."

The National Meteorological Service of Ostehaar (NMSO) recommended the government to declare the northern districts a disaster zone, but so far the Ministry of National Infrastructures has reject that, claiming that the local authorities can and will succeed in maintaining the situation under control. "This is just the shock of the beginning of the storm," said Minister Reed Sheyen Gaal, "in a few hours utility crews will arrive at the damaged areas and deal with local problems - No need to panic in the meantime."

Reh Sjokhur, a farmer from the town of Nehevort, Haalban district, reported earlier that he estimates most of his crops - if not all of them - were lost in today's blizzard. Sjokhur's family has been growing barley in Nehevort for many years, he told us, yet this is the most severe ice storm he can remember. "It was horrifying," he described, "within a few minutes the entire field turned to a white plateau." Other farmers we have spoken with today, have expressed concerns over the possible loss of a year worth of crops, and some have said that the government "will have to find a way to deal with this on the national level."

Distaster: Reaction and Response

Following the severe ice storms that swept across the north today, most of Ansu was covered in hazardous Ice that threatens commuters and buried people in their homes. Luckily preventive measures kept the overall damage to a minimial and people are encouarged to stay in the homes until emergency crews can get to them, the Second Army which was mobilized a few weeks ago is assisting with the response effort around the country.

The First Army however has responded to a call for aid from Xrevaro, and Tanaka has promised the full support of Ansu in helping them recover from this disaster. Lacking excess emergency workers, he has promised the assistance of the entire first army to the Xrevaro people and has granted control over the operation to General Watanabe, Riku and one of the Military Commanders. We wish the best of luck to our allies and our soldiers in recovering from this disaster.
