WC 73 Finals: Keeping the good ryhthm - Still #OnFire

Now with the first goal achieved of qualifying to the Round of 16, La Selecta faced Kandorith in that round and showed that the good game stills constant and helped to display a good game enough to overcome a deficit before the end of the first half and the rest of the action took some time to come, Faña again continues with his tradition of scoring decisive goals and Zelaya with a brace settled the historical qualification to the Quarterfinals.

By: Rogelio Vásquez, young but skilled in analysis.
From: Dwile, Apox - World Cup 73 - Finals.
Posted: Wednesday, July 4th, 2204 - 20:16 (Guayabalense Western Time - User's default time)

San José Guayabal continues to break traditional schemes with which we normally associate with La Selecta, schemes a good team but not good enough for good participation in the World Cup Finals, but this time seems otherwise as La Selecta be happening is They through a roll in terms of quality of play that made since the beginning of the World Cup Qualifiers, now able to take a big step in order to achieve their aspirations to achieve something very important in the World Cup Finals by defeating Kandorith in Cawln, Apox, in a game that was very entertaining and had as main ingredient the ability to overturn a result by La Selecta because at one point it was below the net, good reaction and reserved a couple of goals late in the game did La Selecta first advance to the quarterfinals of the World Cup Finals, a milestone for our team, players certainly are very inspired in terms of the attitude shown by the players, a good teamwork and performance, good performance throughout the ninety minutes, stability and also a feature that has always been present, the competitive nature of the equipment, an aggregate that is now more useful than ever as it can fill further aspirations fans San José Guayabal, the players and the coaching staff.

The match against Kandorith was a new experience for the players, it was their first time in a Round of 16 while for players of Kandorith, it was not even that was not a big factor advantage, as players of La Selecta know how Kandorith was being prepared for the game, in addition to the style of play they use it not long ago had faced them in the World Cup Finals 72 in a match whose result culminated in a 3-3 draw and left both teams virtually no chance to qualify for the Round of 16, a tie for both harmful but it served at least for something, to give us an idea of the game system they normally use. The players did not feel nervous despite being the first time that participate at this stage, it is Rudy Valencia said "We feel like we're playing the WC in our beloved homeland, we have no pressure and feel the support of the fans, in especially the fans who made the trip from San José Guayabal up here, Apox, we know it is not easy but were grateful that unconditional support, the energy transmitted to us to play as always, to the best of us in order to get better results and thus further progress in the World Cup Finals, we want to advance and go far, far away, we do not believe more than anyone, simply we are aware that we have the potential to go far, it is only right the ship and to direct the ship to fruition, we would reach the final but it depends on the team, we have to play 100% to achieve it "were the words of La Selecta player.

The Selecta would make a couple of changes to their game system, including those changes to be carried out would be: a change of position Rodolfo Zelaya, a little behind where customary in order to get the balls from the edge of the area to easily enter the area and thus have a greater impact on the opponent, through dribbling or shooting with good accuracy also to give you the ease of passes to his teammates in attack for more variants at the time of attack and not fall the predictability of the striker plays performed normally. While Fraser and Faña recede as for the same reasons, while the other players keep their positions but not their roles, James Moreira because this game could be an opportunity to participate more actively in the creation of plays, being the responsible for the opponent to snatch balls and provide them to the midfield, their work would be essential for the generation and exchange of plays for Valencia would not be responsible for it, but Moreira would be in charge, perhaps for reasons of speed and agility when play. For the part of the rival, it is known that he planned to use a 3-5-2, which ended up using, with two players based on born strikers, although Madato be a kind of false nine, this is the key player of the team, It is therefore to whom we must pay more attention.

All ready to go, La Selecta and Kandorith had done preheating the game, both returned to the changing blunt and La Selecta made the previous conversation, Oliveira told his players "We know it's our first time at this stage, this is not an excuse to lose the nerves must not, nothing should be an excuse because we must win this game, by any means necessary to win, do not do it only for my hopes and rejoice, do it to excite and cheer people Stadium , which they see on television to their supporters in San José Guayabal and in other parts of the world, we know there are many people supporting them and not have to disappoint, there is much to do and we can go far, we have the potential to become a larger, it's time to stop being small, find our best game and fight to defeat the opponent, you have to go out and play in a good way, in a convincing and enjoyable way, have fun while playing because that is the way it is earned, enjoying themselves and enjoying "words that penetrated deep into the players, because they were quite excited and motivated by what the coach said, while Herrera gave more words of support to their players, in short, a great deal of motivation it was the players who were in view to what had been a decisive game for them and that the result of this would impact deep in their careers as professional football, they were ready.

Everything was ready for the game, both teams are ready at the field waiting for the referee's whistle to start the game, the typical coin toss and San José Guayabal managed to win, starting with the possession, and it was performed Zelaya gave the kick after the referee gave the order and the party began, Zelaya decided to give a pass to Faña while Fraser moved ahead, on the side of Mara, who was caught apparently by the speed at which Fraser moved, Faña Fraser managed to pass him he managed to enter the area and found Zelaya, Zelaya gave the pass and sent it over the target in early to start making attempts, still very early in the game but San Jose Guayabal wanted to show that he did not feel intimidated by playing first time in this phase is over, showed its drive to try to score goals and secure the victory early, which would be great for our players but it would not be as easy, knowing that the opponent does not usually grant facilities opposition defenses when attacking have five midfielders in practice, this provided them with more players have to make approximations of certain level of danger to the area of the rival, well this would be the tonic that the opponent show during the whole game, show no respite to the Guayabalense defense since managed to settle into the pitch.

Kandorith took a little more than seven minutes to settle into the game and try to string together a play that was disturbing against the defense of La Selecta, which showed strong in midfield facilities without allowing an opponent who was fighting for the ball and make their conditions prevail above trying to impose La Selecta in the beginning of the game, through desperate attempts Jun in order to retrieve the ball, and hit eight minutes when the ball body fight him a body Nunez, you will be able to remove and immediately ushered Madato, he went forward at a speed fast enough to the point that Coco could not stop it, Madato was placed in front of the goal and easily managed to kick the ball straight to area with a powerful shot to where Terrazas stood, the young goalkeeper did not contain good shot and left to bounce Madato again but sent direct throw off the crossbar, Moreira just to clear the ball and send a throw in, the concern in the defense of La Selecta was noticeable at least was the experience of Mattías Passarelli to help Coco, who was the most affected by stage fright, Passarelli approached Coco and scolded him for his bad move, then the throw in, Moto made a pass to Chosi but Passarelli came to take it off and decided to move forward but then Moto fouled the experienced defender, Moto received a yellow card.

The game was being shown even, with many different options and alliances in the offensive that could eventually capitalize a goal for either team but Kandorith players were playing a bit strong and the referee just did not walk in a moment watch the players and allow rough play, Moreira kicked the free kick to Bregoo, who gave pass to Valencia and he decided to go back to Passarelli, he kicked the ball forward Rodolfo Zelaya to take the chest and passed to Faña, Faña moved several meters and made a pass into the area rival, Zelaya was waiting slowly and got the ball, left Fraser but he made a bad shot, the goalkeeper stood still as he watched the ball take a strange path that Fraser should have given when kicking, is something we all do in the end, the keeper managed to take the ball and decided to clear it, advancing fifteen minutes on the clock and the goal seemed to come in a short time, one or the other side as the intensity of the game was notable for both teams, a good game and good partnerships ease of movement gave the attackers, who gravitated to the area with relative ease of movement when making your shots while Tuan remained less active than Terrazas, who had been instrumental in preventing a goal by the rival factor.

A couple of minutes later, San José Guayabal was more incisive in midfield, pressing harder in order to get the ball and start generating opportunities that favored the arrival of a goal for La Selecta, this goal began to take shape when Passarelli gave Moreira and then pass it to Coco, Coco advanced to meet Saucedo, he advanced to meet Zelaya and that's how all the previous game the goal was given, Zelaya did the rest to take pressure Shilin and Jun to position the edge of the area and go exactly to the point penalty kick, awarded after Zelaya to the upper right corner of the goal Tuan, who could not tackle the throw Zelaya, La Selecta had gotten so 1-0 in seventeen minutes, an early in the match but important point because if they knew how to handle the results properly we could get another goal later and hold off the opponent, but this would be difficult to achieve by the offensive nature that the opponent has The question would henceforth see that the players of La Selecta could try to neutralize the midfield rival and leave unused front based rival movements and strategic pressure on certain players, but it would be interesting to see how the players of Kandorith could react to the movements that our players could make throughout the game, that would depend on the proper functioning or not suitable idea for what we want to do against Kandorith.

But Kandorith was quick to respond to La Selecta and the way they did is admirable, because not everyone recovers as quickly as this is a wake-up call for the defense of La Selecta, who could not hold as it should an outcome where they looked slightly dominant, well, two minutes later, Kandorith reacted through a move against coup by Shilin, who kicked the ball up the midfield and Xiaobo took the ball, he decided to move toward Terrazas on goal but soon came Valencia had to help with Moto who after advancing slightly towards the area, managed to give a pass to the other side and that's where he was perfectly placed Sheng, who came in front of Terrazas and literally humbled to pass the ball underneath him, an excellent goal but also humiliating for the young keeper but also a warning for the defense of San José Guayabal, you cannot let the opponent make passes as those so easily and will not make an adequate follow rival to know when to get the ball to go ahead and move forward in an attempt to surprise the opponent, in order, were taking too many facilities opponent, and this was something it was not permissible under any circumstances.

Kandorith managed to match the game and simultaneously advance their ranks to cause more pressure on the defense of San José Guayabal, constant arrivals were taking effect in the game that the team exercised, and another chance came just as Xie managed to advance through the middle field, controlled the ball and decided to take a pass Madato but was fouled by Moreira, he received yellow card and this was an opportunity rather Kandorith hazard. The players gathered in the center of the field to talk a little and decide who would execute the shot, Chosi was designated to do so, the player is placed in front of the ball and decided to throw a pass to the center of the area, ready were Madato and Sheng to head, but was Madato who managed to jump in and make contact, height Moreira won and sent the ball into the corner of the goal, Terrazas tried to prevent the goal but could not, his attempt was in vain as the crashing ended head to the post and then 1-2 by Kandorith, required medical attention on the pitch so I could keep playing, the doctors decided to put a temporary bandage around his head in order to prevent more blood out the wound that caused the coup against the post. Kandorith managed to put the lead fairly quickly after the goal by La Selecta, just eight minutes were enough for Kandorith managed to turn the result and placed in a favorable position, a position in which they wished to reach the end of the first time.

While La Selecta showed a bit stunned after the quick reaction from Kandorith, the opponent decided to take advantage of the facilities that the opponent was giving especially on the defensive end, thirty-fourth minute, had the opportunity to Madato put the 1-3 on the result, due to a bad pass to Moreira Passarelli, Madato ran with the ball kicked from the edge of the area, sent the ball crashing into the crossbar of the goal Terrazas, he only managed to react to catch the ball and try to clear and with a little luck finding Zelaya in the frontcourt, he managed to find and Zelaya gave pass to Faña, he kept going until he was hand in hand with Tuan, Faña managed to be on the verge of tie if it had not been properly swept Tuan managed to take the ball Faña, he tried to retrieve it, kicked it in a strange way but Jun arrived in time to prevent the ball from entering the goal, Kandorith managed to keep his composure despite a play that Faña did, had it not been for the intervention of appropriate goalkeeper, anything could have happened and therefore the game could have been placed in a position of equality rather interesting for both teams.

The patience was running Selecta had slowly and move it back to normal things came a minute after good chance that Jonathan Faña managed to have but unfortunately wasted, finally he started the move from the clearance of Tuan and play a bad attempt by Madato, Passsarelli recovered the ball and held it, he decided to go to Moreira and forward, took a pass diagonally directed towards Saucedo for him a good step forward with the left wing by Saucedo controlled and pass gave Zelaya, who managed to accommodate the ball with his chest and gave pass to Fraser who was running he managed to kick with power and place the ball in the lower left corner of the goal of Tuan, Fraser was able at that time to place the 2-2 on the result and thus leave things couples just before half time, the goal came at a key moment for going with a goal down just before half-time is not something that many teams like to do, what an opportunity reaction as that performed La Selecta through that kick by Sean Fraser is a catalyst for the quality of the team, whose members showed longer relieved after getting the goal that allowed placing the tie. After the goal of Fraser, which was a good example of a game in efficient equipment, there were no major relevant opportunities by either team, the referee blew the final whistle and both teams went to the changing room, the score was 2-2 in clearly showing the intensity with which was played the game during the first half.

Meanwhile at halftime talk tactics, Oliveira stressed his players to prepare more and more for the second time, as a reaction against rival was necessary, it would be essential to attack in the second half, while neutralizing they had every opportunity ...

Suddenly a guy who was using the computer without permission of his dad was unplugged of the garage main connection his brother entered filming in stream to PlayTube...

"What the fu...? Dad, dad, what are you doing" said Josh while his dad was walking furious towards him "I'm just watching Elemental Collapse" said Josh while his dad slapped him on cheeks and took a chainsaw "Fuck off!"said his had while chainsawing the CPU "Daaaaaaaad, what the fuck! fuck! fuck! fuck! fuck! fuck! fuck no!" Josh hugged the rests of his PC while crying and seeing his dad how he took the screen directly to the pool, Josh ran behind him and said "But I work, I don't use that just for entertainment, dad" Dad was furious and said "I swear God, I'll throw this!" and he threw the screen into a pool while Josh went to the pool to take off the screen, he screamed "Fuck, fuck, fuck, damn it!" and took his screen, went again to the garage and took a vacuum but his dad appeared just to smash the screen with a hammer, Josh fell on the floor in rage and threw a vacuum to his dad and insulted him...

Rest of goals: San José Guayabal 4-2 Kandorith

Jullian had to accept the fact now that regardless of the fact that this was more or less the same players that had been part of the team two years ago, this was far from being the same team that won the title. There was something missing, a certain intensity or hunger maybe, but there was something that was lacking from the squad that had been there two years prior. Now into the semifinals, there was little denying it, however the squad was still finding ways to win in spite of whatever it was that they were lacking from the previous two cycles, and for that Jullian was immensely grateful. Perhaps that was a testament to the amount of skill that he had as a manager, still being able to guide the side to victory after victory and into the Semifinals for the third straight time despite this squad not being quite what it was expected to. Whatever the case, whatever it is was that the squad was lacking for, it was definitely not determination, for without that determination, they could have easily found themselves out in the group stage if not have lost one of these two knockout round matches they had turned around and won.

It confounded him though, he had the team become relaxed to try and play up to their potential, that had failed. The team had played with all the pressure on their shoulders and that had failed to bring out the best in them as well. It seemed that no matter what approach the manager and his staff tried to take with the side, they were simply not reacting the way that the brain trust had desired, they were not playing the style and level of football that had won them the title. Was it time for a change in style or perhaps a change in the managerial staff? Jullian had thought long and hard on the idea and if it was him that was the obstacle that was preventing the Wanderers from going out there and playing their possession game and limiting the chances of the opposition, then he would indeed step aside or change his tactics. However those hours of contemplation did not bring him to the conclusion that it was their philosophy or the staff, it was something else, something far more elusive than what could be defined with words or actions.

Was it something as simple as that the Wanderers were the best squad in all the land and were now getting everyone's best punch and then some? That thought definitely held some merit, as Jullian need only look back to two years prior and the obstacles that the Firebirds of Osarius had from the Qualifiers all the way to their untimely elimination in the Group Stage. Even minnows that no one had ever heard of before or were just footnotes in the history books marking down participation were giving the former champions all they could handle. Ultimately the Firebirds would be felled, some say to the benefit of the Wanderers and all the rest of those who had advanced to the knockouts of the previous World Cup, and were left wondering just what had happened. It seemed as if the Wanderers perhaps were suffering from something similar, though if that were the case, they were handling it with better performances than their counterparts, though they had taken two titles on the bounce before the drop happened. Were the Wanderers doomed to repeat the same fate or could they be like Aguazul and create a dynasty that had few if any rivals?

The answer to that question though was far beyond what was in the moment Jullian knew, that was a year if not two ahead of what was before him and the side that his hand guided. Before them were Vilita, the larger entity of the Atlantian Oceania islands administration, though it seemed they had been moving onto the mainland of Calania in recent years to with a number of forest preservations. The Jungle Cats were a legendary force in the game, one of the oldest competitors still going strong, along the likes of Starblaydia and The Holy Empire, with stars on their crest to acknowledge that success. They were now returned to the semifinals for the second straight edition, something that had not happened in quite awhile for the Jungle Cats, a sign perhaps for them to return an era of success for them? If nothing else, they were striving for revenge for their comrades of Turori and a spot in that Final, a spot to challenge for a title.

His side? His side was battling history, they were battling themselves in a way in failing to meet the level of play that everyone knew they could achieve, failing to be ready from the onset for what other sides would bring to the table. Jullian would give them no pre game speech, not today, they needed time to reflect on what the moment before them meant, to reflect on the path that had brought them here. If they could not find a way to inspire themselves when a trip to the Final was on the line, then there problems that no manager would be able to fix. It was up to the players and what ninety minutes on a pitch would bring, perhaps that was the way it should have been, football at its most pure form, two teams merely struggling for the right to say they were the best on the day.

A Ripple in the Fabric of a Rivalry

#castratethebulls a success as Jungle Cats outlast Audioslavia

Image
KINGSTON, ROYAL KINGDOM OF QUEBEC :: After coming out victorious in their second trip to the Samseongoloondongjang, the Vilita National Team hardly wanted to leave Montreal. It was starting to feel something like a temporary home away from home not only for the players and coaches, but also for the fans, many of whom had even skipped the Jungle Cats Matchday 3 fixture on Prince Laurent Island to get themselves ready for the Round of 16 matchup against Valladares.

Indeed, however, it was time to pack the bags and move on with a journey to Kingston in the southwestern corner of the Royal Kingdom of Quebec. If Montreal had felt something like a second home to the Vilitan fans, perhaps Kingston would have felt something of the sort for the fans of Vilita's Quarter-Final opposition, Audioslavia. Audioslavia had opened up the World Cup finals with a 2-1 victory over Zenic at the Pavel Wilson Stadium in Kingston, home of Kingston FC. Now, they would return to the Pavel Wilson Stadium looking for a repeat of that success and advancement to the final four.

Naturally, Vilitan head coach Ritopa Simafela had no interest in giving them that satisfaction, having already commented almost directly during his post match interviews at the Samseongoloondongjang following the Round of 16 victory over Valladares that it would be Vilita and not Audioslavia that would be victorious at the Pavel Wilson Stadium this time around. It was a bit of a change of scenery for the Jungle Cats, once again following up a match at the 80,000+ seater Samseongoloondongjang with a match at a much smaller arena. The Pavel Wilson Stadium, at about half the capacity of the Samseongoloondongjang, was still far larger than the partially-sized Bannockburn Stadium the Jungle Cats had contested in during Matchday 3, but the facilities were state of the art even with the slightly reduced capacity.

As for the match itself, it would be the continuation of a long, contentious national rivalry between two ancient nations who have shared their fair share of both success and heartbreak in the past. It would certainly be unprecedented for an old timer to call Audioslavia a successful nation. They were certainly a successful nation, but their reputation, for many decades, was that of failure and not success. Audioslavia broke onto the scene during World Cup 12, reaching the final before being ousted by an upstart nation called Rejistania. The Orange-Blues would go on to win 4 of the next 10 world cups to solidify themselves as the team of the era.

Audioslavia would then make back to back World Cup Finals during World Cup 19 and World Cup 20, and lose them both. These were the first in an epic run for an upstart region called "Atlantian Oceania". Back-To-Back defeats by Audioslavia at the hands of Atlantian Oceania nations would set the tone for decades to come, and be an ironic footnote to Audioslavia's future ability to succeed. World Cup 29 was the same story. Audioslavia made the World Cup Final, but lost, once again to an Atlantian Oceania nation.

The theme was strong, and it extended well beyond the World Cup as well. Any time Audioslavia made the final - generally a mark of a successful run in a tournament, they would fall flat in the final. It all changed in Turori and Aguazul.

By World Cup 63, Audioslavians realized if they wanted to be successful in the World Cup, they had to literally live in a place where World Cup success was ingrained in the fiber of the land and the sea. Atlantian Oceania. The Audioslavians dragged themselves over to the region they themselves had set on off on a World Cup winning rampage and ventured to see if that was enough to give them the competitive edge they needed.

They would find out against one of the toughest of oppositions, Atlantian Oceania's own 5-time World Cup winning nation, Starblaydia. The match was dripping with signs of the past. With the World Cup being hosted in Turori, just like it was during one of Audioslavia's previous World Cup defeats, and the match being against Starblaydia, another nation in which Audioslavia suffered another World Cup final defeat, the stage was set for history to be unwritten. And it was. The Bulls would go on to win back to back World Cup titles, both against Fellow Atlantian Oceania nations, and a century of finger pointing, laughing and unsubstantiated ridicule was finally over.

Luckily for the rest of the sporting multiverse, it seemed that World Cup's 63 and 64 were simply a small tear in the space-time continuum that has since been patched. Audioslavia have returned to their losing ways, dropping the World Cup 67 and World Cup 69 finals since then.

The most memorable of all those for Vilitan fans, naturally, was World Cup 20. For decades it was the one thing a Vilitan fan could hang their hat on. Vilita were one of those nations that were typically eliminated in the group stage. If they were lucky enough to make it out of the Group Stage, then they were always eliminated in either the Round of 16 or the Quarter Finals - and often eliminated by an Audioslavia side marching on their way to another Runner-Up finish. In fact, every time Vilita and Audioslavia met in the World Cup, every single time, Vilita would come out the loser. That is, with the exception of that one time.

World Cup 20. Those three words exit from the mouth of any Vilitan citizen as an unconscious reflex anytime they are in the presence of an Audioslavian. Its just the way it is. Life in Vilita must have been tough for Audioslavia head coach Kajaxo Imaslavii, who spent his formative years in the tropics playing domestically for Strike FC, eventually retiring as one of the greatest netminders in the history of the famed Longgeylin club.

When Vilita & Turori met with Audioslavia in the AOCAF 41 final, everyone knew it would be okay. It was a final, thats when Vilita always beat Audioslavia. Games against Audioslavia were as simple as a binary if function. !Result: If(Final)=Win, Else=Lose.

Since the ripple in the space time-continuum around World Cup 63, however, there have been signs that things were no longer abiding by the great Vilita-Audioslavia plan. The long time arrangement whereby Vilita would buckle like a folding chair against their rivals if the stakes weren't big enough, but would tear their hearts out when it truly meant something.

Jungle Cats head coach Ritopa Simafela knew he'd have to take advantage of that ripple to survive the day at the Pavel Wilson Stadium.

The refereeing crew were the first out of the tunnel, led by the head official Eunuch Steermaker. Steermaker listed no nationality on his biography, saying he was 'well traveled' and 'open to offers', but he had the ears of a Krytenian - perhaps giving some clue to his original heritage.

The big surprise in the starting lineup was the retention of the goalkeepers position by Cilamara Issah of Marine Coast United, with Zelkki Milake on the bench for the Jungle Cats.

Vilita had been hemorrhaging goals over the previous 2 matchdays, conceding three goals in each, and it had been widely expected that Simafela would return to the experienced Milake for the Quarter Final fixture.

Nonetheless, the Crosaibi trainee was between the sticks and had little to do over the first half as the teams seemed content to stake their flags in the midfield and fight their fights at the center circle.

There were a few inquisitive long shots attempted, and one from Aitor Jovellanos on the half hour mark that looked to be going in over the head of Issah before the slightest of wind gusts ensured it landed on the top netting. Jovellanos, who celebrated achieving 100 international caps during the campaign had been making some good runs up the side, having more success than other Bulls at penetrating the Vilitan defense.

It would be Vilita, however, that got on the scoresheet first. Just 5 minutes from the half-time interval it was a quick pass up from the defense by Kwuimekii Hentetii that found Purapal Eskiiy who juked one defender, took a couple of steps and then curled the finish around Sean Patterick. It was the type of shot that former Audioslavia netminder Kajaxo Imaslavii would have gotten a hand on, and, given that Imaslavii was just about 40 yards away on the touchline, it was immediately evident in his reaction that he recognized that fact; turning away in disdain and kicking a water bottle after the Jungle Cats took the lead.

Vilita would make one change at the break, Captain Nili Ylimaiina made way to the younger attacker Perran Adlani and handed the Captains Armband off to the Karela-trained defender Jirjii Januaa.

After holding the line for 85 minutes, however, it would be Januaa who was beat in the air on a corner kick just minutes from full time to extend the match. The delivery from Jovellanos found the head of Jean-Pierre Corbijn to send the match into extra time.

Audioslavia briefly took the lead when Weverton Rodriquez-Torrejon was sent through by Johan Tijgers Landhuis just moments from the opening kick-off of the extra time period. Had it been golden goal, it would be done, but it wasn't and the Jungle Cats fought back.

Vilita got in on the action about 5 minutes later from a corner-kick where Tlikao Muratai got a head on it, hitting the ball down and to the left of Patterick to level the scores.

At the 105 minute mark, Referee Steermaker blew for the break and the teams, exhausted, hydrated and got back out there for the final fifteen minutes.

Image
Vilita re-took the lead in the 111th minute on a free kick from Westii Yahaya. The Jungle Cats had been awarded the free kick when Landhuis clipped the heels of Purapal Eskiiy 25 yards out in the build up. After what seemed like ages of setting up the wall, getting them to the 10 yard mark and the obligatory pushing and shoving from the various players in the wall, Yahaya lined up. This time, he looked to go over the wall instead of under it. The ball took a slight deflection on its way leaving Patterick stone-footed and in the wrong position as the ball flickered past and into the back of the net. The Jungle Cat faithful roared as they had taken the lead with just minutes to play.

It seemed as if the match would be over and the Jungle Cat fans were urging Steermaker to blow the final whistle. However, the Krytenian-eared official allowed Audioslavia to finish their attack and take the earned corner kick in the 121st minute. Once again Jovellanos set the ball in, and once again, the Jungle Cats were beaten. This time it was Tripate Falcon who was used, perhaps questionably, as a jumping board for Gaizka Omaexevarria. It was 3-3. Eunuch Steermaker finally blew the whistle, but, it wasn't final yet. Now the agony of penalty kicks would follow.

The Bulls would be tasked with taking the first kick. Vilitan head coach Ritopa Simafela and assistant coach Ricata Amakra had some words with Cilamara Issah before the penalty kick session. Then it would be Weverton Rodriquez-Torrejon to get things started.

He put the ball on the spot, stepped up confidently and scored. 1-0 to the Bulls.

Vilita would start with their star player, Purapal Eskiiy, to set the tone. He did. 1-1.

Next up for Audioslavia was Landhuis. 2-1. Vilita responded with Perran Adlani, 2-2.

Then came the defining moment. It was the inexperienced striker Frantzisko Apexarena. Issah guessed right and snatched the tame effort out of the air, keeping the scoreline at 2-2. Westii Yahaya then stepped up with confidence, knocked the ball calmly inside the post and emphatically put the Jungle Cats up 3-2.

Jovellanos, who had been so strong for Audioslavia throughout the match, didn't tarnish his performance and kept the Bulls in it at 3-3. However, with just one more shooter available after this, it all came down to the next shot. It was Sean Patterick in net for Audioslavia and the defender Jirijii Januaa on the ball for the Jungle Cats.

Time stopped momentarily as the ball made its way towards goal. It then resumed. The ball clattered off the hand of Patterick. You could feel time pause once again, then ripple slightly. Perhaps that ripple was all that was needed. The ball caught the inside of the post and rolled off into the inside of the netting. The ball was in. 4-3.

The last shooter for Audioslavia was Dragan Kryznjak. As he walked up. The winds began to swirl. He had only played the last 5 minutes of extra time. At that point, Audioslavia needed a goal. They weren't thinking penalties. What was Dragan Kryznjak thinking? Issah stared him down. Once again, time seemed to pause momentarily as the ball had struck. Then again, a ripple. The ball flew over the net. Vilita had won.

The Vilitan players and fans celebrated as if they had won much more than a Quarter Final match. No one had the heart to tell them at that point that their reward for this victory would be a trip to Iqaluit, the coldest place one could imagine, for a match against the defending World Champions.

Goalkeeper: Cilamara Issah

When previously interviewed after the match against Valladares, Issah expressed doubts he would be selected between the sticks for the match against Audioslavia. He was pleasantly surprised to get the call, however, and felt he improved on his performance, despite the fact he ended up conceding the same amount of goals in the end.

When asked about the pre-penalty shootout conversation between himself, Ricata Amakra and Ritopa Simafela, Issah commented that the discussions were surrounding their inexperienced forwards. Issah expressed surprise that they even bothered to put them into the session with them not having experience in big game situations like that, and indicated as a netminder, he could tell that Apexarena was a bit nervous stepping up to the ball and was either going to blast it over or hit it tamely. In the run up, Apexarena was a bit pensive and that let Issah know to be patient and watch the ball, as it was going to come in at reduced force.

It did, it was saved, and the Jungle Cats were through.

Hattrick hero Campbell clinically seizes victory
Eura snuff out fatigued Farves with second half spree
Simon Banning reports from The Barbaria, Gwinerva, Apox

EURA - 6
Campbell 3, 72, 75
Sutton 32
Spartan 61
Hunter 84

FARFADILLIS - 1
Fox 67

Despite their irresistible record so far, Steve Thompson and his Eura side were likely a bit nervous coming into this fixture. They had finished the group stage with a comfortable 100% record and dispatched co-hosts Apox in a tricky tie in the last round, but faced a Farfadillis side that had pulled off one of the shocks of the tournament in hammering Osarius, scoring five goals. The Kai and Fox inspired Farves, led by their Polarian manager Steffan Pekarik, came into this game with the same philosophy they did every game - attack, attack, and if that didn't work, attack again. However, fortune would not favour the brave on this occasion as they came undone in spectacular fashion against a formidable Euran midfield and a familiar face, Kris Campbell. At their top club Mâ Âlâmëómë, Campbell has become the man he is today, making him easily the most successful Euran player to have never played domestic football in his homeland. He added to his fantastic record in this game with a stunning hattrick that left Farfadillis in tatters.

The opposition had finally broken their cycle of mediocrity at World Cup level by throwing everything forward in every game, a strategy that now seems to work, with a better squad, than it did in some of their previously qualifying disasters. Unsurprisingly, they played their full strength lineup with no changes. They went with the usual back three of Mata, Mâr Bârr and Röènôùjýâ, while the national cult hero and 36 year old international veteran Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl played the lone central midfield role. Their attacking midfield is where all their main chips are stacked; Tor, Teran, Holdenberg's Matías Delafuente and Mâás Fox of Directus (who is in phenomenal form) all stacked forward behind their star striker Risko Kai, who has truly broken through and peaked very late in his career, and his strike partner Fuego. Eura made some changes despite their best eleven's strong performance against Apox in an apparently deliberate move to counter the recklessly entertaining style of the Farves. Lewis Hughes was dropped again for Sterling Rose to come into the side, a swapping out of the central attacking midfielder for a defensive option to fill in behind Blackthorn and Spartan, giving Eura quite a deep sitting central midfield. Mark Rogers also came into the side for Frank Ainsworth in defence as Eura clearly believed a more technical type of centreback would be needed against Fuego and Kai. Otherwise it was a normal lineup. The Barbaria was packed to maximum capacity long before the game kicked off, which was an important factor in the fantastic atmosphere on the night.

In the first few minutes it had become quite clear what the game plan for each side was. Eura intended to come out and apply pressure to the wafer thin portions of the Farfadillis midfield and prevent the sort of rapid accumulation of goals that had stunned Osarius. Farfadillis on the other hand came out with the intention of scoring first and scoring early, as knocking Eura off their feet was the only option with their threadbare defence likely to concede at some point. However sometimes in football it only takes a short time for the terms of a match that both sides expect to play by to be completely upended by an unexpected occurrence. Eura expected to weather a storm and it looked like they might have had to after a fiery first two minutes without any chances, but in the third minute Farfadillis had their whole game plan torpedoed by the sudden intervention of Eura's best player in assisting their deadliest finisher. The Farves were already pushing high up the pitch against a disciplined Eura who had dropped into their half, knowing well that a single slip would result in a Euran counter and probably a Euran goal, the same fate that had befallen the Free Republics. It seemed that they had not learned much from the Republicans demise as Fuego, instead of taking an easy pass option back to Fox, tried to force his way past Fox's Directus teammate Andrew Watson on the left. He was tackled hard, losing the ball immediatley, and Joel Sutton back tracked well to collect the ball, turn on it, and switch the play out to Craig Sinclair. Sinclair chested the ball down at the halfway line and simply passed the ball forward through the massive gap in the opposition backline which normally a second centre back might occupy. Kris Campbell roared forward and beat Barr to the ball easily, before smashing the ball past his club teammate Rôhj Tzâín.

Eura's fans didn't know how to react, half of them celebrating wildly and half of them applauding as they tried to figure out what had happened. Farfadillis reacted quickly and got down the other end of the pitch to search for an equaliser, but that first goal had dealt a damaging psychological blow. They created some pressure for ten minutes, but Eura constantly threatened to break away, and all that could be mustered in response was a wild Kai shot over the bar from 25 yards. Rubean Tor was their best performer in the early stages, looking the most dangerous of all the attacking midfielders, but even his nearest attempt was a rather hopeful snap shot across goal, from a far too narrow angle to stand a realistic chance of scoring. While their attackers poured forward Eura broke every few minutes and looked like scoring every time they did, only for the moves to break down or for Eura to deliberately slow the play down, holding on to the ball. John Spartan was confident enough to take a crack at goal from all of 35 yards, and it wasn't a bad one either, a dipping shot that forced Tzain into a difficult save with his view of the ball obscured during flight. It was inevitable that Farfadillis would eventually create an opening that could be considered a real chance which they did in the 22nd minute. Fox finally kicked into gear and mazily dribbled past Sutton before brilliantly chipping the ball over Watson. He raced past the fellow Directus man and managed to get to the ball just as it was about to go out behind, controlling it and then just about giving himself enough time to curl the ball into the box with his left foot. It all came to nothing though - Kai's outstretched leg missed the ball and Fuego was not even in the box, leaving Waller to collect easily.

Against inferior sides, this would have been forgivable, but in this game there was simply no second chances to be had. Eura immediately punished their opponents for their lack of end product with ruthless efficiency. Another Farfadillis attack broke down in the 32nd minute as Delafuente almost seemed to get lost on the edge of the box searching for a pass, eventually just trying to shoot only for Gilbert to block it easily. The rebound came to Spartan and Mêndêlöíndçêl, one of four Farfadillis players playing in an Apoxian environment they were already familiar with, tried to pressure the Revolutionaries midfielder off the ball. He never even got close as Spartan pinged the ball to Rose who waited for Spartan to turn before passing the ball back on for him to chase. It was Spartan against Mêndêlöíndçêl and even at 31, the former still has some pace whereas the latter does not, which was to become evidently clear as the game went on. He was a Farfadillis national hero but their fans could only watch in agony as he was easily outstripped for pace by Spartan, who had spent a lot less energy running so far. The Euran captain bombed forward and confronted Barr, the centreback who had been tasked with tracking Campbell for half an hour already. Barr did all he could have done to pressure Spartan and slow him down, but the flaw of the formation simply allowed Spartan to thread a through ball past him for Campbell, who beat Mata in a one on one contest for the ball. Campbell didn't quite get full control of the ball and was forced sideways out of the box, but all he had to do was turn and lob it into the middle for Spartan and Sutton. Spartan and Barr couldn't get near it and it was too far out for Tzain to rush and punch, allowing the ball to drop down for Sutton to volley into the ground and in off the left post.

Sutton's goal seemed to take the wind out of the game until half time, when Farfadillis simply left their side unchanged as they still needed the goals to have any chance of winning. Eura stayed the same too, figuring that any changes would simply upset the balance of the team. The second half started like the first but without a Euran goal, and then in the 55th minute Farfadillis were finally presented with a golden opportunity. Fox was fouled by Blackthorn on the right - free kick, in a good position. Fox took the set piece and swerved it in. Several players challenged for it but one head popped up to reach the ball, that of the leaping Teran, who typically of his character made more effort in going for that effort than he had in the fifty five minutes of play. It wasn't a clean header and it was 10 yards from goal but it was on target, and yet still not quite enough. It was near the centre of the goal and Chris Waller reacted brilliantly to palm it over the bar. The resulting corner came to nothing and then minutes later Eura put the game seemingly beyond the reach of any comeback. It was not a counterattack this time - Eura managed to slow play down again and push the ball up before winning a throw in on the left. It was thrown into the middle where Barr beat Campbell for the header, but the ball dropped straight to Sinclair outside of the box. Sinclair controlled it brilliantly with his right foot and tried to slip past the right side of Mata only for the fullback to blatantly foul him. Eura had a free kick, almost a penalty, and the resulting set piece routine undid Farfadillis once again. Churchilli jumped over the ball and Sinclair rolled it back for Spartan, just about far enough from the goal, to curl it over the wall into the top right hand corner with expert precision.

A 3-0 deficit is always difficult to come back from and even more so when the third goal comes in the 61st minute of a game. There was a glimmer of hope for Pekarik's team, after he dragged off Fuego and Teran for Winrouge and Nofzaleiné. The latter had a positive effect right away and almost set up Kai for a goal but for the last minute of intervention of Gilbert. Nevertheless it would be Fox that would score a not unsurprising consolation, reacting brilliantly to Tor's hard work and drilled cross on the left, timing his run exceptionally well so that he could powerfully drive the ball past Rogers and Waller from the edge of the box. Even though this slight opening raised his teammates spirits, the game was looking almost over at this point with Eura holding onto the ball and looking for breakthroughs. Farfadillis, who had ran so hard and heroically in so many games recently, finally broke down physically around the 70th minute mark, and this provided some late easy pickings for Eura as the game turned into a slightly unfair thrashing. The Farves didn't deserve a heavy beating, but they took a hard one as Thompson noticed the fatigue setting in and suddenly subbed Rose for Hughes, and pushing the team forward. Campbell got the fourth which seemed to formally end the contest, an unimpressive but well taken deflected finish off of the unlucky Mata after a scrambled corner clearance. He completed a hard earned hattrick in another counter attack as the brilliant Sutton broke away again, this time with virtually no-one in front of him. Two of the defenders caught up but there was so much space that he was able to pass across the box for Campbell to calmly dispatch the ball into the bottom left corner with a laced shot. Remarkably, Craig Sinclair did not get on the scoresheet this game. However he got one more of several assists for the sixth goal, finishing off the game with an sublime early cross from the right for Charles Hunter. The new Directus signing met the ball with a bullet header, and it was 6-1 in the blink of an eye.

WC 73 Finals: WTF??? - We reached Semis!!!

Ecstasy still grows among the Guayabalense fans, a new victory against Cosumar launched La Selecta to unimaginable heights of the World Cup, first time we advance further of the Group Stage we reach Semifinals, there's nothing to lose and the fans are completely crazy, even there are lots of fans with dreams to reach the final but in the middle there is Eura, could we avenge that catastrophic 2-6 this time and be near to achieve our biggest football dream?

People are totally ecstatic and it is not a thing to wonder, I would not speak an exaltation but what has been achieved in this World Cup Finals has been extraordinary, have made it to where we could never reach before, we have managed to overcome all barriers to qualify for the semifinals, is extraordinary and this has not gone unnoticed in a country where football is breathed in the atmosphere almost all year long, is a sign that the process of development that we have applied to the national football has been appropriate and I managed to pay off fully, now it's a matter of knowing maintain good governance at the national football. All this would not have happened if we had not beaten Cosumar in a narrow way but at least it was enough to beat The Dragons, it was possible to reach the height of the four best in the world and that required much effort and dedication, work at this time it is to try to keep this status and reach a targeted effort on the basis of sweat, effort and tenacity, something that has always characterized us and that is not impossible to achieve, if we ascend from scratch because failing to reach to new heights and achieve the realization of our dreams, it is not impossible but it will not be easy to achieve because there are other competitors who want to achieve, but we must follow our dreams to beat us who stands in front.

Now, in the new game that just ended against Cosumar, we show different things that happened in the game and analyze each of them, this might not be the common focus of the story of what happened in the game, too bring some criticism toward what was done and opinions about it, I know it will be a different approach but worth doing, although I relate parts and then criticize, but will not be uncommon to compare what has been done before, my Apologies if you do not like the style but try to make it proceed. Yesterday's game against Cosumar was a sample of a football who do not like much prefer to see a lot of goals but it was the taste of those who think that football can sometimes become a giant chess board where there is plenty of space and ways to prove what you want to do on the pitch, but the instance of the tournament was no longer allowed to test it is something risky in view of what is planned to achieve, it would also be a good board to show the best parts the field and the movements are orchestrated to attack and beat the opponent by any means, Cosumar as we had a dream to be achieved before the game but only one's dreams prevail because the other would be pitifully truncated in a way not very pleasant, although both teams were at that time in their historical peak in terms of shares in the World Cup Finals.

As the clock was ticking on his departure, the players were in San José Guayabal muscle warming just before the game, while the trained Oliveira with his colleague, Herrera, called the players to go to the changing room to adjust the details for the game, the atmosphere of La Selecta nerves were not displayed but perhaps had nerves inside the select few players unless the player in question is Abraham Terrazas, apparently the young keeper made a bizarre problem with its control of the nerves to the point that as he descended into the changing room, urinated in his short and had to rush out and order a new short while also heading to the bathroom, it's weird but he, and social networks do not They forgave the accident of Terrazas, to the point of creating the memes in a photo they have in their social network Facebook Fan with his younger brother. In purely strategic level of the game, Oliveira and Herrera asked the players to concentrate 100% throughout the game, which remain concentrated when not sparing defend and when to attack, because the important thing was only get the goals that will lead to the semifinals Selecta, with that in mind, and Herrera Oliveira made a prayer with players and resumed again a technical talk to define what roles would everyone, compared to other games, and surprisingly Oliveira Herrera decided to make no change to the previous game in order to keep the scheme that ran on the previous occasion and that every player feel attached to the work to be undertaken during the game.

ImageSocial media hadn't mercy of Terrazas #PeeGate

While on the side of Cosumar it was observed that all players retain the role they had in the previous game and none would be replaced, so this represented an advantage for La Selecta, who studied in depth the previous game against Valanora, so it would be hard not to keep out players Cosumar in their attempts when attacking the defense of La Selecta, everything was ready for the game to start and the players took over the field, ready to sing hymns national, at the time La Selecta players sang the national anthem, there were six players who wept with emotion while singing and shouting reached the point of screaming "wooooo!" during the anthem, the atmosphere in the national team was not nervousness, it was a festive and optimism, desire to surpass all expectations and forecasts environment that soccer fans worldwide had put him to La Selecta, finally there was nothing to lose, he had everything to gain and therefore players decided to play dangerously from the start in order to try to secure the result as quickly as possible, it was necessary to hit a sharp blow from the beginning of the game in order to let the unrivaled ability to respond to the attacks launched by La Selecta to defend the score and thus qualify for the semifinals of the World Cup Finals for the first time.

The game started with a good approach to football by La Selecta as far as I'm concerned during the first ten minutes of the game, we saw what we are accustomed and that we must not change, for the first five trying to do the opponent to move from side to side to start to tire and trying to open holes in the defense rival and having the ball without lend her opponent, that's very successful from my point of view, therefore there were good opportunities during this period of time as he had Rodolfo Zelaya third minute, where he gained access in the right wing, shifting from its traditional place in order to mislead the defense Cosumar in then entered the area and kept possession the ball while Nodtveit insisted to take the ball to Zelaya, he managed to make a tunnel Nodtveit and managed to win the hand in hand to move towards Winterfyll, Zelaya managed to pull power out but his shot was deflected to the left post Winterfyll flew with the objective of trying to tackle the shot but did not need to end, goalkeeper intimidating muscles and extravagant beard smoothly managed to keep defending Cosumar while Zelaya motivated his teammates to keep trying more opportunities to overcome the resistance of Cosumar, which was not shown at its best, except Winterfyll, who managed to guess the direction of the shot of Zelaya but his intervention was not necessary for shooting star in front of San José Guayabal. Finally many interesting things seemed to come from our Selecta, which remained insistent on Cosumar.

During the span of minutes eleven to twenty, we noticed as a player in particular Cosumar was taking a very important role when it comes to attack, was Sheldon Sierra, the player of Zenit Attawapiskat of The Royal Kingdom of Québec, who took the role of being the launch pad for the offensive plays that Cosumar performed because it was so as evidenced twelve minutes, where he managed to take a long throw into the captain Engström to come face to face with the goal of Terrazas and then elevate the ball over on a large category but his shot was powerful because it did not enter the goal, but came out slightly above her in an attempt that was definitely a wake-up call to the defense of San José Guayabal, which He was being loose in that part of the game, so Oliveira claimed defenders to play more focused on what was coming ahead in the game, it was not tolerable fail so miserable actions like dialing a player and show solid temple defense as a defense is the one with La Selecta. And another mistake occurred nineteen minute where again Engström, after a great solo run by Sierra managed scoring against Terraces but was canceled due to an offside I sincerely think that it was not, but that was the criterion Arbitration and I cannot say anything else. But if it had been a goal, that would have been a bucket of cold water on the aspirations and intentions that had La Selecta, besides being something quite simply unacceptable due to the nature and importance of the game that was being done.

You cannot play so weak in the sense that the defense is not permissible in Quarterfinals, indeed, could be classified as sin as an opportunity that you have, you may end in a goal for the opponent and that means it will be harder to put it again on the route, the boat to the port of victory, so it was necessary to achieve a good result by any means, you cannot trust that the opponent is nervous or something else, in order Selecta seemed to begin to resume a good headed hand Saucedo, who decided to try to Winterfyll with a powerful shot from the area to scare away the goalkeeper managed to send it directly to the crossbar and leaving goalkeeper Winterfyll jumping to retrieve the ball and then see him lying on the ground to kill time, Saucedo managed something interesting, managed to awaken San José Guayabal in a period when they were under the rule of Cosumar and managed to regain the rhythm of La Selecta, in order to try to score a goal to direct the ship of our dreams to the port of victory. Zelaya was motivating the players in order to achieve more opportunities to attack the opponent and not forgive any chance for the rest of the game but failed Selecta have more chances in the minutes twenty-five to thirty-three, Cosumar not because the game He managed to be placed in the midfield and entangled there for a moment, it seemed that was going to be boring game but the unraveling come sooner or later, but not by Cosumar, since the work of destruction gaming by Vareza Na ' Noni were not adequate to achieve the release of the game in midfield, at the end, they always kept the game interesting variables for later in the game.

When I come disentanglement eventually came and the way it was, because Rudy Valencia managed to have an excellent shot the thirty-seven minutes, removing the possession Cosumar, Engström and at the right time for Valencia will advance directly to the opponent's goal Zelaya and view our excellent striker was in midfield and asked the ball, stepped forward and gave Zelaya then passed to Faña, he advanced down the right side and decided to take a bye to the area, right where Zelaya was waiting but was not directly Zelaya, but Fraser, who managed to approach the area and throw the goal of Winterfyll, he bounced the throw but was on cue Zelaya, who came to hit powerful ball form and put it in the net of Cosumar, La Selecta managed to get the upper hand in a fundamental part of the game just before halftime in a good game show together we were able to overcome the resistance of Winterfyll, the giant was sprawled on the grass while uttering insults to the right hand and right by the complicity that had on the play, Zelaya was booked for removing his shirt when celebrating, but not for less, was a moment of ecstasy for La Selecta, who was making his move to semifinals, dreams of millions of Guayabalenses were on the verge of being fulfilled, by surprise La Selecta was able to place in the semifinals against the adversity we face, deal with all the bad outcomes that gave us eliminated in the group stage, the surprise was happening and who knows that both will continue, in order to win many Guayabalenses want it desperately and with that I felt on the need to bring this back to our minds.

Childhood Dreams, wrote by Ramón Suárez.

Raul returned home after finishing the art class, where he had to make a comic about the subject he wanted.

After eating and resting for a moment, Raul did not imagine that I could draw, looked and thought for a moment I could do, but found nothing to distract decided to watch TV to see if there was something very interesting that inspire him.

But after several hours after sunset (it was the night) saw something that she likes and motivates the heart not only his, but that motivates the heart of nearly one billion Guayabalenses, joining in a mission, a sense an inexplicable passion (the official jersey of the SJG NT and a poster of their favorite players of the SJG NT) that crazy unexplained and consistent we can not control the Guayabalenses, was his inspiration to do the comic for the art class apart that he remembered something very important that motivated him even more.

The inspiration of Raul.

What motivated him more?, The simple fact that tomorrow will be the first game of SJG in the WC Qualifiers and the first game of SJG would in House, that motivated him to create a comic where he imagined he was a player of SJG, who scored valuable and important goals that clinched the classification of SJG to the WC, then scored more goals and confirmed their progress to the WC Finals.

SJG fans celebrating the Qualifying to the WC Final.

As he wrote in his comic and what he imagined, SJG joined entirely in one uncontrollable passion and great joy, attended by thousands of spectators from SJG, to the stadium which will host the final game in SJG soil, then he drew the score was 2-2 at the last minute of the game and it was fouled in the area, which the referee awarded a penalty and he scored, doing that SJG achieved it, it will be in the WC Finals!

The comic

Then, the teacher stopped the class and said: "Raul, your story is so beautiful it should not be only heard or exposed, to be admired and contemplated so.

-All, please give me an S

-S

-Give me a J:

-J

-Give me a G

-G

What did you say?

- (Students shout): SJG!, SJG!, SJG, SJG!

And that's how football and the SJG NT generate a passion, a feeling that can not stop, a fervor, a power unit, comfort and call where we are all one with the voice and strength of a billion people that supports the screaming in unison.

SJG! SJG! SJG! SJG! SJG! SJG! SJG! SJG! SJG!

Aaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! someone screamed and Isaac decided to go to the other house near him, it was something weird happening there and he was curious to see it

"You stupid drunk idiot! you broke my heart" said a woman, she was annoyed with her husband and the reason apparently was cheating, Isaac watched everything "Let me fix the fucking computer! go to hell you stupid!" said the husband but suddenly, he felt some part near to his pants sticky, his spouse came with a pickaxe and proceeded to dickcapitate his husband by hitting him six times, he said "Noooooo, what the hell are you doing, aaaaaaaaah!" He tried to defend himself but he didn't acted in respect to his spouse, he was dickcapitated after a couple of minutes, she took something in a black shopping mall, threw it to the street and set it on fire, Isaac called the 911 in order to seek help for his neighbor...

The police arrived and opened the bag, they said "Holy shi...."

Final Score: Cosumar 0-1 San José Guayabal

Next Rival: Eura

Might be interesting: Pickaxe 1-0 Man

Jungle Cats Frosted in Iqaluit

Defending Champs Put the Freeze on Vilitan World Cup Hopes

Image
IQALUIT, ROYAL KINGDOM OF QUEBEC :: It was cold in Iqaluit. Very cold. While the Vilita National Team regularly traveled the multiverse for competition purposes, there is no getting around the fact that their primary training facilities in Alikki-Corra were not situated in a particularly cold environment. In fact, for much of the year, the weather was quite the opposite.

So arriving in Iqaluit was certainly a jolt to the systems of the Vilitan players. The stakes were big though. For the first time in the long, long, long history of organized international sport in Vilita, the Vilitan National Team had advanced to the World Cup Semi-Finals in back-to-back campaigns.

In the locker room before the match, head coach Ritopa Simafela explained to the players what the stakes were. It wasn't if they really needed explanation. Everyone knew what was ahead of them. If they wanted to be the champions, they had to beat the champions. The devils of scheduling decided to force upon the Jungle Cats their toughest opposition of the tournament at the critical time in the most unforgiving of venues. To add even further to the pressure, there would be 100,000 lunatic supporters in the stands bundled up in their wintry best.

Simafela instructed his players to start fast, keep moving and don't let the cold be a factor. His players would get perhaps at least one of those things right.

Vilitan captain Nili Ylimaiina won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball instead of defer to the second half. After all, head coach Simafela told them to start fast, and Ylimaiina decided the only way he could do that was with the ball at his feet.

The referee looked for confirmation of readiness from both netminders before getting the match started. In a widely anticipated return to the net for Vilita, Zelkki Milake gave the all clear and the match was under way.

Nili Ylimaiina tapped the ball forward to Kaivel Illatara then took off, literally starting fast, sprinting down field toward the Pasarga net. Illatara teed the ball back to Tripate Falcon who was anticipating the pass in what appeared to be a play from the training ground. Illatara also began sprinting up the field after disposing of the ball while the charges of Westii Yahaya and Altimo Ueboa up the wings kept the Pasargan defenders stretched. Falcon's ball over the top bounced once just short of the defense but Nili Ylimaiina didn't even pause his run as the large hop went straight over the World Champion back line and Ylimaiina was able to collect it in stride, clear through on goal.

Less than a minute into the game, Vilita went up 1-0 as the experienced Vilitan captain would make no mistakes from there. The Vilitan supporters erupted as they celebrated with their team.

Hopefully the memory of that moment stayed clear in the minds and hearts of each and every Vilitan supporter in attendance. Because, from that moment on, there was very little else for them to get excited about.

When the full time whistle had blown 89 minutes later, Zelkki Milake had managed to out-concede his fellow Vilitan netminders, Kalek Intafel and Cilamara Issah who each came under fire for conceding 3 goals in each of the 3 games leading up to the Semi-Final. The 13 goals conceded over 4 matches was certainly some sort of unfortunate mark when put into the context of it being accomplished by a team that reached the World Cup Semi-Finals. But then again, there was never any sense of domination or destiny from this Vilitan Semi-Final squad. Through the Semi-Final stage of the World Cup, the Jungle Cats had only managed to actually win one match in the 90 minutes, and that was the opening game against Nephara.

Image
A stark contrast to a typical Vilitan campaign, which continued building momentum throughout the course of the competition after the usual opening match defeat.

It was an improbable run for a Jungle Cat side that remained largely unchanged from the group that also played a full 7 match complement during World Cup 72. Just one player- defender Inbekira Ajhabekk - would make their World Cup finals debut in The Royal Kingdom of Quebec & Apox, and that would come during the 3-3 draw with Kernansquillec on Matchday 3 of the group stage.

With 1 victory in regular time, another after extra time and 3 draws, the 9 points that Vilita had amassed was no more than other nations had after half as many games. Yet the Jungle Cats are still fighting on. While, incredibly, the suffered their first defeat of the entire World Cup cycle against Pasarga in the semi-final, they still had plenty to play for.

The Jungle Cats would have to travel to unfamiliar territory - off to Dwile in Apox for the Third Place Playoff match against Cup of Harmony hosts San Jose Guayabal. The Jungle Cats foes for their 7th and final match of World Cup 73 had already run rampant through much of the Finals and are on course to finish with twice as many points as the Vilitans despite participating in the same amount of matches. However, San Jose Guyabal hit a brick wall in Eura during the Semi-Finals and their confidence is likely to be dented heading into the final match.

The change of scenery away from the Royal Kingdom of Quebec may serve the Jungle Cats well, an easy way to draw a line and put the Pasarga defeat behind them, and hope to do something else that no other Vilita National Team had ever done. Advance to the knockout stage and win their final match in the World Cup Finals in back to back campaigns.

With one game to play in their World Cup 73 Campaign, the Jungle Cats, after suffering their first defeat since the very same stage of the World Cup 72 finals, dropped to a 10-7-1 record for World Cup 73 including the Qualifying Stage (Where the Jungle Cats topped their group with an 8-4-0 record). Vilita will have to come out victorious against San Jose Guyabal just to climb up to a .500 record in the World Cup Finals (Currently 2-3-1).

Four players have contested every single game in the World Cup Finals for the Jungle Cats - all in midfield. Star player Purapal Eskiiy, Serabi Chamya, Tripate Falcon and Westii Yahaya have been a dominating foursome for Vilita in the central of the pitch as the Jungle Cats controlled possession in most of their matches until the frosted air in Iqaluit finally got the better of them. Eskiiy and Falcon also lead the Jungle Cats in appearances throughout the entire World Cup 73 campaign with 17 - each having sat out one match only during the Qualifying campaign.

5 players were registered for the Jungle Cats during the World Cup 73 Campaign, practiced and traveled with the team, dressed and sat on the bench but never stepped on the pitch either in Qualifying or the finals. The young starlet netminder Nikki Tzimas from Strike FC is certainly one to keep an eye on in the future, likely to get playing time in the upcoming AOCAF competition or start making appearances during World Cup 74. Defenders Rintala Sekagaya and Mileke Drokasorna are currently being trained at two of the most prestigious academies in Vilita; Alikki-Corra and Marine Coast United respectively. In midfield, another trainee, Venom Youth Academy graduate Polaox Torerun who was teammate Nikki Tzimas' roommate during team travels. Finally, Owls Castle Academy graduate Tenziki Kulakao who has been drawing a lot of attention up in Yeaddin - many believe he will be a key piece in the return of the Yeaddin Owls to domestic prominence - also failed to make an appearance during the campaign.

The captain, Nili Ylimaiina, currently leads the Jungle Cats in goals scored during the campaign with 8. Five of those goals came during 7 games played during the World Cup Qualifying campaign and three of those goals were scored during the finals with Ylimaiina averaging approximately 2 goals every three games.

Ylimaiina does have company atop the Vilitan score charts, however, as both Kaivel Illatara and Purapal Eskiiy have also netted three goals during the World Cup Finals, while Eskiiy's four goals during qualifying give him a total of 7, just one fewer than the number put up by Ylimaiina, although Eskiiy has done so over the course of 17 matches, for an average of fewer than one goal every 2 games. Never the less, should Eskiiy get the opportunity to start against San Jose Guyabal there is no doubt that he'll be aiming for the back of the net looking to equal, or even top Ylimaiina on the Vilitan goalscoring stat line for this campaign.

Torgos Tribune ~ The Wheel of History

The Wanderers froze out Vilita in the Semifinal in a show of class and determination, two words that have become quite synonymous with this version of the Wanderers. Once more the side was caught on the back foot as the Jungle Cats were able to score first and in the opening minute to boot. However the chilly climate of the venue began to turn the tide and have a direct effect on the game, as the Jungle Cats who are used to their tropical climates were put to the sword by the diversified Wanderer starters. This is perhaps where it is a boon that eight of the eleven Wanderer starters ply their trade outside the dual islands, as they are more comfortable and acclimatized to the cold temperatures that have been present in Quebec.

After that shock goal for Vilita, the midfield clamped down on the game and forced Vilita onto the backfoot, controlling possession and limiting the chances of their foes to long range efforts that were easy enough for Lukacs to stop and collect, despite the eight attempts on frame by Vilita. The Iskara Daii keeper looked as good as he has the entire tournament between the pipes and his experience in the Liga Anaia certainly has helped him develop into one of the best keepers to have played for the side. While there still has been lapses, such as the Turori and Quebec matches, the side can reasonably believe that as long as they score two goals in a match, they will be coming away with a result on the day with Lukacs in net.

On the flipside, while the Wanderers had fewer shots on target than the Jungle Cats, their opportunities were far better scoring chances and they took them well. Mauer lead the way with a brace on either side of the half, the Brigham showing his quality. It is hard to believe that going into last cycle that the young striker was an unknown quantity and some were questioning his selection to the national team. Now he is one of the best strikers in all the world, if you believe the press coming out of Eura, and he continues to bag goals aplenty while wearing the Wanderer shirt. While the tandem with him and van Stiphout has been difficult at times, considering their similar styles of play, when both are on, the attack looks near unstoppable. The captain himself got a goal on the hour mark and the young Ceballos added the final goal with six minutes left, as the Wanderers booked passage to their third straight Final.

The wheel of history does turn ever so interestingly as it is none other than Eura that the Wanderers will be facing in the Final, a repeat from two years ago. Will the wheel of time rewrite the history from World Cup 26 and 27 where the might Bedistan won back top back titles by defeating Liverpool England in both of those Finals. Will instead more modern history repeat itself, with the Wanderers playing the role of Osarius and Eura playing the role of the Wanderers, nicking a title on their second run through? However, there perhaps is a third option to this history, a repeat of the history of the early 40s where Valanora and Starblaydia shared the title between them? Considering the strength of both squads, I would not be surprised to see the two meeting in the Semifinal or Final for the next decade, like the Marauders and Purple Peril did over sixty years ago.

It is interesting when you look at these two squads on paper, as they seem to be mirrors of each other. You have a dominant midfield lead by a general who is perhaps larger than the game itself and runs the entire team at times, which serves both sides well when they do hit a bump in the road. You then have good, perhaps even great, attackers who when in form can light up just about any defense that stands before them, from the wall that Ko-oren brings to even the hyper aggressive and offensive ones in the fashion of the old System Takil of Bettia. Then you get to the defenses that can be susceptible at times, usually playing down or up to the level of their competition, but usually being just good enough for the offense to secure the game. In a way, each side will be facing themselves when the whistle is blown to begin the match between the two titans of Rushmore.

Is revenge the watchword for the Eurans? It is hard to tell, for Eura and Pasarga are not natural rivals or enemies, located in vastly different parts of the region and having an alliance, in fact for nearly two weeks a Euran was the Pasargan monarch, may Carlton Shorley rest in peace. However the World Cup and Copa Rushmori keep pitting the two sides against each other, especially as of late in the Wanderers meteoric rise to footballing power and then elite. In that way, they have become budding rivals on the pitch, especially as the Eurans so desperately wish to recreate the magic of World Cup 66 and have been in magnificent form these past two years. They had not dropped points until last match where they advanced in the penalty shootout since they had lost to the Wanderers in the Final, having had a perfect qualifying record and had been perfect through the Finals as well. That draw however has broken their perfect cycle and made it so that the Wanderers will still be first in the next edition of the WCC rankings following the conclusion of the World Cup and Cup of Harmony.

The World I would say is in the corner of the Eurans, some sides wanting to say they lost to the eventual champions, while others are not wanting to see another dynasty take hold of the World Cup like Aguazul did in the late 50s and how Osarius nearly did. However that is exactly what is in the mind for our Wanderers, on top of putting on names in history as the ninth side to have ever retained the World Cup trophy. After so many struggles through the qualifiers and Finals, it might be with a sense or relief that the Wanderers will go about this Final, having overcome all possible obstacles en route to this opportunity. It would hardly be part of the mind set of a Pasargan to have overcome such adversity only to slip up at the final gate but it is hardly in the Euran psyche to be so easily beaten either. In that, we are set up for what should be a tremendous match and a fabulous end to what has been an interesting tournament on the whole. May the best team emerge victorious.

FGF Headquarters, San Salvador, earlier today...

"And the winner of the nomination coming from the Honourable Council of the Hall of Fame is... Sean Fraser!!!" said some random voice in the room while Fraser came to the front to receive his trophy conmemorating his induction to the hall of fame, after a lot of time and effort made by him, his career was receiving the distinction that deserved, a player like Fraser is normally one of the engines of every team and this time the party was for him but let's review how Fraser managed to be what he is right now.

Sean Fraser was born in the little village of Kingston, near Khabarovsk in 2174, son from a former football player of Licentian Isles AFC (Father) and a Computational Systems Manager (Mother), comes from a family with a certain devotion to football, it's not a big footballing family like others as it is the case of the Zelayas or Saucedos but the Frasers had certain good players but Sean was since a child a great footballer, some people in the village accuratedly said that he would be the next big thing of San José Guayabal, due to his speed and vision to play at determinated moments and his good positioning in the field, his natural ability to do headers was noticeable and also his love for the athletism.

After a couple of years, Fraser decided to take part into some athletic games, he was a marathon runner since early days and he exploited his speed quite well in the last sprints but his passion for football was the key to being placed since thirteen years old in the academy of the footballing powerhouse of Alianza FC, being in Alianza is not as easy as some people think, their strict scouting system is hard to approve and being in Alianza is a big thing. After that, Sean started his career with Alianza as a striker since the U 15 squad and his ability to counter attack and his speed and also his endurance were noticeable and the scouts managed to send him to the senior team in a lapse of three years.

Now, when he was on the senior side he truly unleashed his goal scoring potential with three seasons in a row being the top scorer of the Liga Premier with 20, 15 and 19 goals respectively, after a couple of years more in Alianza he moved overseas, his chance was at Bjarnarey Flotilla, at Polar Islandstates, Fraser was in fact the first Guayabalense player to play abroad and that's what it makes him a historic player among the rest. In Bjarnarey he kept his good ryhthm at goalscoring but wasn't enough to be the best, but constant calls to La Selecta made him improve and being a key on the team, he is also the most capped player, being called up 165 times, counting this night 3PPO game against Vilita.

79th North Avenue, San Salvador, this evening

"Okay Her Royal Highness, we are arriving to the Palace" said the driver while turning to the left to go to the Royal Palace, suddenly a car crashed the Queen's Mobile and three heavily-armed people put her weapons on her "Okay perra, vos venís con nosotros... while they took the son of the Queen and shoot him twice in his legs and chest and then they robbed some information, maybe national security information...

"Let's get outta here!" said the leader and they took the van and left.

They checked the information and read it.

"What the hell we took, this is useless, it won't be good for us..."

Random information robbed to the Queen after a car crash in this evening...

Law and Order

San José Guayabal uses a civil law system where laws are created and amended in Parliament and the system regulated through the Corte de Justicia. It consists of the Corte Suprema de Justicia of 19 permanent judges and a Chief Justice, appellate courts, city and district courts, and conciliation councils. The judiciary is independent of executive and legislative branches. While the Prime Minister nominates Supreme Court Justices for office, their nomination must be approved by Parliament and formally confirmed by the Monarch in the Council of State. Usually, judges attached to regular courts are formally appointed by the Monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister.

The Courts' strict and formal mission is to regulate the Guayabalense judicial system, interpret the Constitution, and as such implement the legislation adopted by Parliament. In its judicial reviews, it monitors the legislative and executive branches to ensure that they comply with provisions of enacted legislation.

The law is enforced in San José Guayabal by the Policía Nacional Civil. It is a Unified National Police Service made up of 60 Police Districts and several specialist agencies, such as Corte de Cuentas; and the Servicio de Investigación Criminal, each headed by a chief of police. The Police Service is headed by the National Police Directorate, which reports to the Ministry of Justice and the Police. The Police Directorate is headed by a National Police Commissioner. The only exception is the CAM whose head answers directly to the Ministry of Justice and the Police.

San José Guayabal abolished the death penalty for regular criminal acts in 2157. The legislature abolished the death penalty for high treason in war and war-crimes in 2172.

In general, the legal and institutional framework in San José Guayabal is characterised by a high degree of transparency, accountability and integrity, and the perception and the occurrence of corruption are very low. San José Guayabal has ratified all relevant international anti-corruption conventions, and its standards of implementation and enforcement of anti-corruption legislation are considered very high by many international anti-corruption working groups such as the ESAB. The Corte de Cuentas has proven to be an efficient, professional and independent unit with a strong capacity to investigate and prosecute corruption in San José Guayabal and abroad. However, there are some isolated cases showing that some municipalities have abused their position in public procurement processes.

Tourism

Stunning and dramatic scenery and landscape is found throughout San José Guayabal. The South coast of San José Guayabal and the coast of northern SJG present some of the most visually impressive coastal sceneries in the world. the World Assembly has listed the Guayabalense fjords and islands as the world's top tourist attraction. The 2195 Environmental Performance Index put San José Guayabal in sixth place in Esportiva, based on the environmental performance of the country's policies.

Manufacture

In terms of structure, the Guayabalense economy is characterised by a large, knowledge-intensive and export-oriented smanufacturing sector; an increasing, but comparatively small, business service sector; and by international standards, a large public service sector. Large organisations, both in manufacturing and services, dominate the Guayabalense economy. High and medium-high technology manufacturing accounts for 8.7% of the GDP.

An estimated 34.7 million Guayabalense residents are employed and around a 42% of the workforce completed tertiary education. In terms of GDP per-hour-worked, San José Guayabal was the Esportiva's sixth highest in 2190 at US$41, compared to US$27 in Apox and US$35 in Yttribia. GDP per-hour-worked is growing 2.5% per year for the economy as a whole and the trade-terms-balanced productivity growth is 2%. According to the Esportivan Union, deregulation, globalisation, and technology sector growth have been key productivity drivers. San José Guayabal is a multiversal leader in privatised pensions and pension funding problems are relatively small compared to many other Esportivan countries. The limit of working time is 40 hours per week but at least the 65% of the employees in San José Guayabal works with a total amount of 35 hours per week without including the possibilities to have videoconferences due to work reasons in their homes, The Guayabalense government is seeking to reduce its costs through decreased sick leave hours and increased efficiency. Also is worth to point that at least the 12% of the national workforce performs some or all of their activities at home using different specialized servers for their work or using Viconfe the program created by the government for the videoconferences, or the working platform to do services or pay taxes or anything related to the work that might be reported to the Government via the Ministry of Finance with the program iWork.

Demographics

San José Guayabal population was 52,148,570 people in September 2195. Guayabalenses are an ethnic Hispanic people though there are some people with Nordic ethnicity like Swedes, Finns, Norwegians and also Slavics like Russians. Since the mid 22nd century, San José Guayabal has attracted numerous immigrants from northern Inferiore, Northern Esportiva, and the equatorial zones of Esportiva. All of these groups speak many different languages and come from different cultures and religions.

As of 2201, an official study shows that 76% of the total population have at least one parent who was born in San José Guayabal. More than 7,822,286 individuals (15%) are immigrants and their descendants; there are 1,172,000 children of immigrants, born in San José Guayabal.

Health

San José Guayabal was awarded first place according to the WA's Human Development Index (HDI) in Esportiva and 106th in the Multiverse for 2203. Poverty and infectious diseases dominated in SJG together with famines, and epidemics in the 2000s. From the 2150s improvements in public health occurred as a result of development in several areas such as social and living conditions, changes in disease and medical outbreaks, establishment of the health care system and emphasis on public health matters. Vaccination and increased treatment opportunities with antibiotics resulted in great improvements within the Guayabalense population. Improved hygiene and better nutrition were factors that contributed to improved health. The disease pattern in San José Guayabal changed from communicable diseases to non-communicable diseases and chronic diseases are not so common in the nation, considering that the deaths happen by old age by 69.5% and lost in wilderness with 21.6%.

The first antibiotic, penicillin, was introduced in the 2040s during the Communist Rule of San José Guayabal. These antibiotics were very powerful tools in preventing and treating childhood diseases. In the 2050 and 2080s many vaccines were developed and the childhood vaccination program grew rapidly. San José Guayabal gained control over almost all of the feared childhood diseases. Vaccines against measles (rubella) were introduced to the childhood immunization program in 1978. Rubella is dangerous to the fetus if the mother is affected during pregnancy. Today, all children are offered free vaccines which are voluntary. The coverage for most vaccines is high.

In the early 2150s AIDS surfaced as an unknown disease. San José Guayabal was early in preventing the transmission of HIV/AIDS in high-risk groups through the implementation of information campaigns. The HIV virus was later discovered and HIV tests became available from 2180.

New Challenges on Health Care

A wealthy economy makes it possible to buy tobacco, fast food, sweet drinks, sweets and even drugs, considering the almost non existant limitations of the Government in that matther, that few people had access to or could afford until after 2155. These days many people have desk jobs, cars, less demanding housework as well as indoor plumbing. Physical activity is decreasing; electronics, computers, social media, and the internet demand more of daily life. New living conditions such as these give rise to new challenges for public health. Only 55% percent of adults in San José Guayabal follow the common advice to be physically active for 150 minutes per week. Reduced physical activity increases the risk for overweight and obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Despite that, it is believed that just 1 of every 10 persons in San José Guayabal could be in problems with overweight or obesity.

History is a complex subject. The most important narratives and truths that one can discern from it are almost always subject to some kind of nuance, or some kind of scale of shades of gray. One of the great timeless disputes of the field is the question of the "great man" theory. Is history driven by great men from an establishment background like the more traditional histories say, or at least by individuals, or was it driven by great forces of social, economic and cultural change? Though the great man theory has been knocked down somewhat, it will always be arguable that individuals have played pivotal roles at points in history. Euran history is no different to any other history in this regard. With its Marxist past and its left leaning present, Eura has never been hostile ground for historians who point to class or industrialisation as the chief drivers of change. Even they, however, admit that occasionally the outcome of history is not inevitable, and that certain people have turned events irrevocably at key junctures. Lord Baker, the hero of the civil war, or the Daeran explorer Julius who first landed on "those sandstone shores", or even the middle ranking administrative staff who went on strike in Pale during the socialist era many decades ago, starting the "Gold Revolution" and the final victory of parliamentary democracy in the country. All of these individuals or small groups had turned history on a knife edge; Baker had fought and won when he could have retreated and been routed at Directus, Julius could have been stranded in the Endemian Ocean, and those white collar workers could have decided not to bother raising their voice. So much could have been different, in regional history too. What if the Polarian's head of government had never reluctantly decided to dabble in offshore oil, kickstarting the northern Rushmore oil boom? What if Norrehavn and its fascist allies had won the Southern Rushmori War because the leader of Valladares gave up? And in recent years, what if an itchy fingered Euran, Valladar or Sargossan officer had given the order to fire when war was, on several occasions, just one more escalation away?

Contrary to the popular phrase, history is not written by the victors. Nor is it always written by wealthy men. Nevertheless, the great processes, the great ebbs and flows of history, can be nudged on to one course or another by individuals. In one of the pavilion rooms of one of Bastion's state run skyscrapers for large civil service department's, the K-T Tower, this very idea was running through the minds of several men. A group of Euran intelligence officials, including the Chairman of the OSI, were discussing the ongoing "situation". The Chairman had eventually heard enough and told the others to leave him and carry out his orders, but this theoretical discussion kept swirling around his head, namely including one particular example. King Martin II of the first Kingdom of Bastion had fought off the Silver Horde and the proto-Sameban state in the First Endemian War a millennia ago. Maybe it wasn't a story many Rushmori's would be familiar with unless they knew their history of the region well, but it was a pivotal moment in the formation of a Euran nation. It was the first time a group of Euran's, albeit dominated by one group, came together and called themselves just that - Euran's. It was an alliance that didn't last of course, but the idea hung around. Most historians will tell you that the Silver Horde had overrun its supply lines and the Sameban's army was poorly commanded, but they also note that the Euran nation might never have been if one thing had gone differently. In the small town of Abermouth, at the time a local fortress on the steppes of what is now Holdenberg's industrial outlay area, King Martin was resting with his small army, retreating from a skirmish ten miles down the road at the outlying village of Lewton. The war was going poorly, but the next day Martin would make a series of tactical decisions that would give his Bastonian troops a decisive victory over a much larger army. Morale would skyrocket, and the King would be inspired to call for a broad alliance of what his eldermen had started calling the "Euran regions". As Martin had walked into the keep with a large guard, a stable boy had appeared from nowhere with a crossbow, the view of him obscured to the guards by some hay bales. The boy's name was Safaris (his family name to this day unknown). He was likely born somewhere in present day Electrum, and wore a pennant of Sameban green.

Little else is known about Safaris, other than what happened next. He could of, and perhaps should of shot the monarch of Bastion's fledgling kingdom, who due to his lack of armour at the time would have been almost certainly killed. Instead, he hesitated, and was charged by two guards, one of whom he wasted his bolt on. He was executed the next day, after admitting he had intended to catch Martin just seconds before at an even more opportune moment, but had been slowed down by the boggy tracks around the castle grounds - and so in one moment, the only military leader of the Endemian Middle Ages who had a semblance of what modern national identity is, had been saved by a teenager getting stuck in the mud and then failing to take his chance at the crucial moment. However, the Chairman was not thinking about this now out of whimsy, or because he had just read some terrible alt-history novel. Instead, it was him searching for an idea to solve a crisis that threatened to destroy everything he believed in; the change of leadership in Sameba. His real name was John Doyley, he had held the role for five years, and never in his career had he felt like he was fighting against the odds this much. He had been a law graduate who joined the officer programme for the navy, and eventually became a Naval Commando, the most prestigious of several kinds of Euran special forces operative. With time he went from just another operative to the very best, and a commander. He had both killed and nearly been killed for his country, but eventually retreated to the comforts of the desk job after the emotional turmoil of witnessing the cataclysm that was the collapse of "Nutty Natella's" regime in Mytannion. After a prolonged period of depression and dilapidation, and then one last spectacular adventure to capture the aforementioned dictator from her luxurious refuge in Sargossa, he had finally taken over this role. His predecessor, nicknamed "the Ticker", had been perhaps the most powerful spy in the region. Then again, even some of the nearby dictatorships had spook chiefs with smaller remits. John was a different figure who had been forced to deal with different challenges, as Eura had started more unilateral interventions and had cooled off its hostility to Valladares. More importantly he had less power.

John didn't mind this though, because he was not the Ticker. He was not obsessed with retaining control and influence, or with always pursuing a rigidly realist policy. Like his predecessor he had fought in wars, but where his mentor had been driven to a desire for revenge and to never be on the wrong end of a gun again, John had sought to solve conflicts rather than create them, or at least finish them quickly. He had been a military man for his whole life and yet in the last few years he had adapted and mellowed, becoming a wary guardian of the state in the shadows rather than a cigar smoking civil service empire builder. Maybe he should have been though, for the good of himself and the country in this time of crisis. Not everyone liked his methods, however bloodless his coup in Saintland was, or how there had not been a single major terrorist attack on Euran soil under his watch. He had enemies, powerful ones, including people below him - particularly that bitch Spader, as one of his closest advisors had referred to her in the earlier discussion. This was the core of the problem that faced him. Across the border, marked by the heavily militarised "Danger Zone", the Sameban state was in turmoil as President Gelta was being pushed out of power. The prime candidate to replace him was a man called Emile Gartanzo, a military officer with a murderous past who John was convinced would put the peace between the two old Endemian countries in mortal peril. Yet it seemed that no-one agreed with him, even if the Foreign Affairs Minister and PM were cautious because of his concerns. Which is why he was thinking laterally with regards to digging up ideas for getting his way, because now John was finally understanding the reason why the Ticker practiced playing with people so much - so that when the chips were down, he could always play a winning hand. He now understood that in this desperate situation, where he was sat in an office overlooking the city while the government fiddled and entertained Spader's optimism about the rise of Gartanzo, he had to throw out the rulebook. He had to play dirty. That is why John had history on his mind; he needed inspiration. A Sameban had nearly killed the Euran nation in its infancy with a crossbow, and now he planned to have a Euran kill a Sameban war machine just as it took aim at its primary target.

It was a reckless plan, and highly illegal. Any PM except Lafferton would have had him sacked and charged at the National Court for such a thing. A Euran spy with a family of five and many years ahead of him would likely die, or worse be interrogated and tortured first. Yet he had been left with no choice. Sure that he was alone in the room, he picked up the satellite phone that had been lying on this conference table for hours. His earlier company had dispersed to create distractions and put everything in place. Finally, he got the text he wanted from one of them on his phone. 'Place de Caron. Light escort, on foot for twenty seconds between AM building and convoy. Opening.' His subordinate had served him well. John pressed a button which dialed a preset number into the satellite phone in his other hand and put it to his ear. 'This is Crease. Do you read Number Four?'
'Loud and clear. Crease, what's going on? Why are we on this line and not using the trade language, there's so much risk of intercept. What's happening?'
'Number Four, I have very simple orders for you. You are my last operational asset near enough to do this, and we don't have much time. You are to move from your current location to operation site seven, which is identified in your materials. You will take with you all available firepower, and you will dispose of target preset Delta Bravo, Sierra November. Do you read?' There was a long pause on the other end of the line. 'I'm hanging up in seven seconds, respond.'
'Read. Carrying out orders sir. I don't know what to say so please pass on my letter to her, please sir!'
'Understood. Will do.' He hung up the phone, aware that the agent on the other end of the line would not be calling again whether he was successful or not. There was no going back now. John walked outside to be greeted by a man in a black tracksuit, who he recognised right away. 'Get rid of it.' He handed the tracksuited man the phone for remote destruction, giving him completely plausible deniability, and walked to the lift. The next hour or so seemed to pass swiftly as he made his journey over to Blackhall, moving from one armoured black state vehicle to another, the lights of Bastion glimmering around him. John was acutely aware that the safety of three billion people, millions of whom were enjoying just another lovely evening around him, hung in the balance. He would be damned if he let a jumped up idealist like Spader put them at risk in a misguided attempt to win a peace medal.

By the time that John had reached the operations centre at Blackhall where the cabinet and other key figures had gathered at an emergency meeting, they were already sat down with their eyes glued to the television screens. The Euran public were captivated by other things at the moment, meaning that for the first time that anyone could remember a Sameban power shift was occurring without its larger southern neighbour going into a state of alert. The government were far more cautious, but also optimistic, something they shouldn't have been in John's view. He took a seat by the Foreign Minister, Yarley, his closest ally. She leaned over and whispered quietly in his ear. 'You're late.'
'I'm sorry, I just wanted to avoid the nutters self-coronation. Has the PM seen sense?'
'Look, we respect your opinion. But we have to give this a chance. Anyway, they're saying that the palace balcony is about to have some sort of presentation. This must be it.' On the televisions, the famous balcony from which the Sameban military leadership usually lead their state events was the focus of all the attention. Gelta was gone now, confirmed by multiple sources in Euran and other foreign media. He wasn't dead or imprisoned, but had "voluntarily" given up the reigns. Now it was a question of who took over. Spader and her clique in intelligence and defence circles had now decided it would be a Gallo and Rossi, with Gartanzo and Moretti serving as their deputies. It would still be a military regime but a moderated one, returning their relationship with Eura to the good old days of Coley when everything had been going swimmingly until he sent military advisors to Mytannion. John didn't believe a word of it, but it didn't matter. Even the Chief of the OSI couldn't win the argument when standing alone against virtually the entirety of the political leadership, many of his immediate OSI rivals and plenty of the military, although he suspected many were quietly supportive of his position. The only thing holding back the madness was the middle ground held by the cautious PM Michael Judge and the brilliant Yarley. Spader came over to John with a smug look on her face. 'I'm sorry about our recent disagreements, Chairman. Hopefully once this is done and dusted we can get to work again and get back on the same page.'
'It's a bit early to be declaring victory.'
'Is it? All of our sources are saying its going to be a Group of Four leadership, just like the last one they had during the single party era. Gartanzo's purging army hardliners as we speak.'
'Or they're all having a good laugh at us from his wine cellar, you naive fool.' Yarley gave John a stern look and waved Spader back to her seat. She was younger than both of them but she commanded a great deal of respect and authority. It was no wonder that she seemed to be the subject of so much affection from Eura's feminists. 'Wait a minute. This is it, everyone, pay attention! Waldow, keep your men on the lines and find out what's happening on the ground!'

As a massive crowd of tens of thousands of people gathered on the television, some smoke from a flare in the mass of people obscured the balcony which now had several figures filtering onto it. When the smoke cleared, Emile Gartanzo stood at the centre of the balcony with a beaming smile, a microphone, and several figures behind him. There was mixed reactions around the table. Spader's and her lot were surprised, but seemed to react well after a moment and clapped. The king of the army moderates had been crowned, in their view. Yet a few faces around the table looked more glum, and one chair was now empty. Yarley turned to notice John had got up and walked right up to Spader. 'What the fuck are you doing? You think this is fucking positive?'
'Chairman, you are way out of line!'
'Fuck you, Spader! There's going to be blood on your hands, you can count on it!' A booming voice silenced them both. Remarkably it was Judge. The Prime Minister rarely raised his voice but this was clearly an exceptional circumtance. 'End this! End it right now! I want to see unity. Chairman, return to your seat.'
'Prime Minis-'
'Return to your seat!' John reluctantly obeyed with his face glowing bright red with fury. Suddenly, Gartanzo started speaking in his native language, and a translator got to work. A lot of it was platitudes for his allies and chest thumping, but then he got onto the substance. Finally, after five minutes of silence in the meeting, Eura came up. 'I have been asked what my policy is towards our southern neighbours, by many people, including my good friend Catherine who you all know well! Well, it is simple really. They are, and will remain, a problem in many regards.' The cabinet held its breath. 'But they do not have to be. This is a new dawn. We are going to set the record straight, my people. I have a timetable in fact! When next spring comes, on the President's Day, our first national holiday of the year, we shall set forward a new vision of our relationship with Eura and the world. And they will accept it, I am sure. We will make up for our past mistakes.' There was rapturous applause and celebration in the room from those who heard what they wanted to hear. Even Judge smiled a bit. Yarley gave John a sympathetic nod and went over to talk to the PM privately. The advisors noted the rest of the speech which was neither friendly nor hostile, but John kept watching, just hoping he could see a sign that he was right. What of his agent, too? Had he gone ahead with it? He was just desperate to get answers.

Just as it all seemed over, Gartanzo had one last comment, after a long diatribe about Sameban heroes. 'I, people of Sameba, want to be your next hero! Your next idol!' He stared at the camera, and gave it a sinister smile. 'I have learned the lessons of Safaris, even if others have not. They know who they are. I will not be another Safaris. I will succeed.' A chill ran down John's spine. No-one else seemed to care; to them, it was just a reference to how Safaris is seen in Sameban culture as a failure, the image of national shame, and how he didn't want to be remembered as a failure. However, none of them had just tried to have the man making this comment killed in a manner similar to the tragic Sameban peasant boy. John knew in that moment that the new President of Sameba was talking to him, and him alone. A storm would come in the spring, and while the leaders of Bastion obliviously reached out for peace, Gartanzo would be preparing for something else entirely. John walked out of the room, and met eyes with Yarley - she had left at the same time. She spoke to him softly as they went out to the balcony, one of the few exposed points in Blackhall that faced the city skyline. 'You still don't buy it.'
'Minister, I've done something wrong.'
'What? What do you mean?'
'I had to do it. I had no choice.' She narrowed her eyes. 'John, what are you talking about?' He was hesitant about telling her, but realised that protecting himself wasn't the way to go about this. 'I sprang an asset on Gartanzo an hour before that speech. He obviously failed in his mission.'
'What? What the fuck is wrong with you! You know the policy was to stand of, to wait!'
'We couldn't risk it, Amy.'
'Risk it? Are you bloody mad! You're the one that just put everything on the line! Damnit!' She kicked out at the barrier at the edge, and then they both stood in silence for some time. 'So that's what the Safaris comment is about?'
'I expect so.' She seemed to be in disbelief. John was just happy though that she hadn't told him he was sacked yet. 'What are you going to do, minister?'
'Nothing. And you will do nothing, or at least you won't for now. We are going to negotiate with this man. We are going to build a better future for our children. In the meantime, you will go about your duties like usual. I will not say a word.' He couldn't believe what he was hearing. 'So what, you're going to let this go?'
'As stupid as what you just did was, Gartanzo's nature won't change because of it, whatever it is he's thinking. If it goes south and he isn't the man he makes himself out to be, I want to know that when I come to you, we will be ready. Do you understand?' John didn't respond for a moment, but when he did, he did so with a knowing smile. 'Yes, minister.'

"All good things come to an end."

It was a phrase that had been in Rameses Niblick's head for some days now. The team had travelled home without him - after all, he wasn't their manager any more - and it had been nice to watch a World Cup without having to worry about writing copy or scouting opposition. Sure, Eura had won, but nothing was ever perfect. Now, here he was, in an aeroplane headed for Emberton, with literally no clue what to do for the rest of his life.

Sure, he had money, and Cleo, and her kids...and her kids' kids. It still seemed strange that his little poppet was a grandmother, but when you live to the age of "I've genuinely lost count", these things tend to creep up on you.

"Ladies and gentlemen", the voice over the intercom said, shattering Rami's reverie, "we are now approaching our final descent into Hessenthaler International Airport, Emberton. The local time is 6:33pm, and the temperature is a pleasant twenty-one degrees Celsius. On behalf of all your crew today, we hope you've enjoyed flying Krytenian Airways. Please ensure all seats are fully upright and your tray-tables are stowed. Oh, and Rami: thanks."

Rami looked shocked at that last part, then slowly smiled. It was nice to be appreciated.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Appreciated was one thing. The media scrum awaiting Rami in the arrivals lounge was quite another. Two centuries in journalism just doesn't prepare you for an entire nation's paparazzi attempting to jam their telephoto lenses up your nostrils. Rami smiled diplomatically as he made his way past the crowd (who, thankfully, were being kept at a safe distance by security). It was then that Rami caught the sight of some familiar faces. His daughter Cleo, and son-in-law Jerome, had come to meet him.

"Hey Dad. Could you do me a favour?"
"I've literally just got off the plane, poppet. Can't it wait?"
"Not really. Come along."

Being dragged around a corner by the ex-footballer that had married his daughter, Rami wondered what fresh hell was being wreaked upon him.

Then he looked up.

A stage had been erected in the check-in area, with a big video screen reading "GOODBYE AND THANK YOU RAMI" in large yellow lettering. Rami choked a little.

"Oh, that's nothing, Dad." Cleo piped up gleefully. "There's a musical tribute."
"Musical tribute? Who?" Rami looked puzzled. Jerome laughed.
"Let's just say somebody owed me a few favours. For a long, long time."

Rami looked even more puzzled. Who on earth would owe Jerome Jaffacake-Phillips favou-oh.

Oh no.

OH DEAR FUCKING CHRIST NO.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

The two men stepped onto the stage. They'd sung this before, of course, but this time they were sober - and so was the audience.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this, Jeremy?"
"Oh Rubio, I'm allowed to do something nice for my son once in a century. Besides, imagine the look on the old bastard's face."

A music track began playing. The two men stepped to their respective microphones.

(OOC note: Jeremy in red, Rubio in blue, both in green)

Nothing is so good it lasts eternally
Perfect situations must go wrong
But this has never yet prevented me
Wanting far too much for far too long.
Looking back I could have played it differently
Won a few more moments who can tell
But it took time to understand the man
Now at least I know I know him well

Wasn't it good?
Oh so good
Wasn't he fine?
Oh so fine
Isn't it madness
He can't be mine?

But in the end he needs
A little bit more than me --
More security

He needs his fantasy and freedom

I know him so well.

(Various video clips from Rami's career played behind on the big screen whilst all this was going on)

No one in your life is with you constantly
No one is completely on your side
And though I move my world to be with him
Still the gap between us is too wide.
Looking back I could
Have played it differently
Learned about the man
Before I fell
But I was ever so much younger then
Now at least

I know I know him well

Wasn't it good?
Oh so good
Wasn't he fine?
Oh so fine
Isn't it madness
He won't be mine?

Didn't I know
How it would go?
If I knew from the start
Why am I falling apart?

Wasn't it good?
Wasn't he fine?

Isn't it madness
He won't be mine?

But in the end he needs a
Little bit more than me --
More security

He needs his fantasy and freedom

I know him so well

It took time to understand him

I know him so well.

The audience cheered; Jerome was laughing like some sort of hyena in the middle of a psychotic episode. Rami, meanwhile, was doing his best not to break his jaw on the check-in area floor.

Jeremy and Rubio made their way over to Rami.

"Haha, Rami", chortled Jeremy, "you should have seen your face."
"Well, thanks, Jeremy. Also, what the fuck."
"Rami, Rami, Rami. Deep down, I don't hate you. Not completely, anyway. I'm going to miss you."
"You. Missing me. That doesn't make any sense!"
"Of course it does. All these other ... hacks ... out there - you, though, you were a challenge. Still, four-three."
"Fat lot of good it did either of us, mind."
Jeremy laughed. "True. By the way, I got you a present. Well, actually, I got you two, but you can only have one."
"Oh...kay. Any reason?"
"Because you never answered my question. Now," Jeremy held up two medium-sized bags, "left or right?"
Rami viewed Jeremy with suspicion. "...left."
"Ha! I knew it!"

Jeremy handed Rami the bag in his left hand. Rami gingerly opened it, and took out the item within. It was eighteen inches long, made of marble, and in an interesting shape.
"Jeremy, what is this?"
"Congratulations, Mister Niblick, you are now the owner of an eighteen-inch long, solid marble representation of a monkey's left labia. I have a friend in Cathair, she's a sculptor, owed me a favour."
Rami laughed harder than he had in months.
"So what's in the other bag, then?" inquired Cleo.
"Oh, the right one, of course. Might hang on to that. Good for braining surly editors."
"So," Rami asked between giggles, "what happens now?"
"Well, what happens now is you go, do your retirement thing, get bored, and eventually come back because you can't get enough of my rugged good looks. Trust me, happened to me. In the meantime there's only one thing left: get absolutely blind drunk."
"You know something, Jeremy? Nearly two centuries I've known you, that's the first time you've said anything that made sense. Let's go."

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

The bar was...actually rather upmarket. Probably because Cleo was there, more likely because she's convinced the Cy'un to cover the bar tab. The five of them were round the table, Cleo had got the champagne in, Rubio had got the tequilas in, and Jeremy had combined both in his glass with a little umbrella, despite the fact that the bar didn't have any of them.

"A toast" said Jerome.
"To what?" asked Rubio.
Rami smiled wistfully. "To the end...and the beginning."

The table was by the window, and Rami, Rubio, Jeremy, Jerome, and Cleo watch the sun slowly sink beneath the horizon as they enjoyed their drinks. Sure, there would be hangovers tomorrow, but that didn't matter; on this night, tomorrow didn't exist, and yesterday was king. The fivesome exchanged stories and songs, laughed, playfully fought, actually fought, and generally painted the town red. Or at least claret, green, and sky blue.

Rami woke up in his bed the next morning. "What am I going to do today?" he wondered as he looked out the window.
"You can start with me," said the twenty-something redhead in his bed. Rami had no idea who she was, how she'd got there, or what they'd done last night; his brain, however, merely shrugged, and Rami got back into bed.

Retirement was going to be fun.
"I revel in the nonsense; it's why I'm in Anaia."
