There won't be a "war to end all wars". Though we're much bigger, Earth has poliferated more nukes. On the smaller planet, the effect of MAD is far more destructive. They won't risk a war regardless of who they side with.

I would probably cut deals with the US, NATO, and the EU, and then proceed to use what would be an incredible amount of influence to box Putin into his corner of the world and deny China its Asian hegemony. And then I would deal with the situation the middle East as necessary.

They really wouldn't have a choice. Look at it this way.

Tomorrow a gate opens and out comes ships more advanced than your own nations. They come in quantities terrifyingly large, large enough infact to destabilize you and weaken you should you enter conflict with them. But they come to you and offer the chance to be equals, they will help you bring peace to earth if you help them do the same to theirs. YOu say well peace is real nice and people have fought war in the name of less so you say what the hell sure.

You begin fighting, small engagements and maneuvers first then suddenly you realize someone from the other world is supporting your enemy and your new goal expands. You no longer have to fight the enemy from your world to achieve what you had wanted. You must now also fight these unknowns who seem quite alright with killing your troops when you attack their allies like you and your new friends have been doing.

You win the war for earth and now it comes time for you to hold up your end of the bargain, but in sending people through the gate you realize your mistake, Here in their world the two have barely fought, and their populations add up to more in single countries than there is in most continents back home. Their armies clash in numbers unheard of and it is barely a dent in their force, and when you cry out that you no longer wish for this deal to continue your friends release you of it and immediately you are set upon by both them and the foe you already have been killing and been killed by.

War war never changes, and this one would only end at the end of earth.
