Ad’ihan/Liventia Joint Unified System Tournament
Season 3

The third season of the Joint Unified System Tournament between Ad’ihan and Liventia to determine top-level UICA qualifiers has taken place amid much speculation over the possibility of a similar system being introduced for the SBCC, although no decision has been made on that.

Last season's Ad’ihani champions Tallyn Rovers, who failed to defend their league title, easily walked the tournament, finishing unbeaten with seven wins and two draws good for 23 points, mimicking their performance in the inaugural JUST season when they had seven wins and four draws.

For the first time since JUST was introduced, a Liventian team failed to qualify for the TakilQuip Champions’ Cup through this system, as Oldbridge City took second place and the last of four TQCC spots available to Ad’ihan and Liventia. Grand Arsenal finished third to sweep the top three for Ad’ihan, with the next four teams all representing Liventia. Kinney Road finished eighth to round out the UICA qualifiers, with four teams from Liventia and two from Ad’ihan entering the next Globe Cup. Protectorate Utd finished 9th and will be put forward for the Aeropag Football Invitational Tournament, although with CF Mont-Pluie guaranteed an appearance in the next edition by contract, it remains to be seen if the organisers will accept Protectorate Utd's entry.

The Commander's League

The first season with the addition of the twelve new expansion teams has been completed. The new clubs certainly added a new level of intensity to the competition, and made the process of earning UICA qualifications much more difficult. Several clubs made big changes going in to this season, some of which made great differences in their overall performance. Some of the original teams struggled, while some expansion teams managed to make a name for themselves in their debut seasons.

FIRST HALF

South Division Standings

1 Oclia Mariners 14 9 2 3 38 20 +18 29
2 MFC Bhaskar 14 7 3 4 23 23 +0 24

9 Sleiman Guards 14 2 5 7 17 27 -10 11
10 Wild FC 14 2 2 10 22 39 -17 8

Mariners and Icebirds were the strongest sides in the first half. Calvin Harris was on an excellent scoring run, and Icebirds were back to the excellent defense that they had shown in years past. Several expansion teams caught the old guard by surprise early in the season, with MFC Nor, Miners FC, and MFC Bhaskar playing very good football. Royale suffered along with most of the original teams, with a losing record through the first half, which included an 8-6 loss to Nardi FC. Foresters were simply awful, finishing last in the North Division. The first half table mattered because the last eight teams would have to play an extra round in the Commander’s Cup to move on.

COMMANDER'S CUP

Play-in Round
Gorzlem Battle 2-0 Nardi FC

Northport Sailors 0-1 Cavaliers FC

Sleiman Guards 0-3 Wild FC

MFC Kane 2-0 Kowa Foresters

Second Round
Oclia Mariners 0-3 Coranto FC

Icklyrri Icebirds 1-4 Tyrrin Royale

Foroch Raiders 2-1 Mertag FC

Racaw Sultan 4-0 MFC Nor

Miners FC 2-1 Estera Stars

MFC Bhaskar 1-2 MFC Bedros

Gorzlem Battle 4-1 Cavaliers FC

Wild FC 0-4 MFC Kane

Quarterfinal
Coranto FC 3-3 Tyrrin Royale (4-6 AET)

Foroch Raiders 1-3 Racaw Sultan

Miners FC 1-3 MFC Bedros

Gorzlem Battle 4-1 MFC Kane

Semifinal
Tyrrin Royale 2-1 Racaw Sultan

MFC Bedros 2-5 Gorzlem Battle

Commander's Cup Final
Tyrrin Royale 4-0 Gorzlem Battle

The Commander’s Cup was set up this year so that the expansion teams would play each other separate from the Elite Eight, with the two groups meeting only in the final round unless an Elite Eight had to participate in a play-in. This resulted in Battle coming all the way from the play-in round to make it to the final match. Royale were convincing in their run to the final match, only struggling in their extra-time win over Coranto. Royale won the Cup with three Klogh goals against Battle.

Icklyrri Icebirds took their first ever Commander’s League title on the strength of a solid defense. Their upgraded midfield didn’t hurt either, and when you add a top class striker and goalkeeper, things ended up very good indeed. Royale were the next closest, and while they scored an obnoxious amount of goals, they didn’t come close to catching the Icebirds. A midseason injury to Fionnlagh really hurt them. The Mariners had a good season as well, with Calvin Harris seemingly returning to form. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mertag FC made the Globe Cup again mainly on the play of Deandre Rodrigo. Miners FC and MFC Nor were the best of the new teams, with the former missing out on the Globe Cup due to goal differential. Raiders were a major disappointment, as they felt that they had all the right pieces in place after last season. Foresters did terribly, but that was expected. Sultan failed to play defense again, and Coranto was just terrible besides the play of Thorvald.

Golden Boot
5. Aaron Williamson (22 goals)
4. Bernard Brecht (23 goals)
3. Calvin Harris (25 goals)
2. Zia THorvald (29 goals)
1. Markus Klogh (31 goals)
Markus Klogh led a very potent Royale attack this season. He seemingly couldn’t be stopped, and with Williamson’s 22 goals added on, these two formed the best attack in Tyrrin. Klogh demonstrated the superb finishing skill that he has shown throughout his international career, and Royale hopes that he can keep it up.

Foreign Player of the Year
5. Carlos Villatoro (Osarius)
4. Aaron Wilkshire (Queer Poco el Mono Ara)
3. Markus Klogh (Burchadinger)
2. Edwin Pedersen (Burchadinger)
1. Giuseppe Joliano (Unitopolis)
Despite Sultan’s poor performance this season, Joliano played excellently, providing many opportunities for his teammates to score. He demonstrated outstanding creative ability, as well as flair and talent on the ball. Hopefully Racaw will finally pick up a defender or keeper in the off season to help this team out a bit, and give Joliano and company a bit more support.

Most Valuable Player
5. Markus Klogh (Tyrrin Royale)
4. Giuseppe Joliano (Racaw Sultan)
3. Emmerich Gerd (Icklyrri Icebirds)
2. Deandre Rodrigo (Mertag FC)
1. Edwin Pedersen (Icklyrri Icebirds)
Icklyrri could not have won the Commander’s League without a solid defense, and Pedersen provided this with solid leadership and play on the Icebird’s back line. This group let in fewer goals than any other team in the league. Of course, this defense had help from players like Gerd and Juan Malik, but Pedersen is representative of how the Icebirds achieved this victory.

Vephraller Tririsec e Foutbill
1786 season

Well, many Vephrallers would probably consider this a sad day in Vephrese sports. The Vephraller Tririsec e Foutbill, the national league present in some form or another for over 175 years, is no more.

Well, okay, that's not exactly right. The league is still alive, but it has a different name. With the ongoing financial crisis in Vircais growing worse, domestic football has been hit particularly hard. As a result, following the 1785 season, a series of cost-cutting and revenue-generating measures were put in place.

On the cost-cutting side, the league has been restructured from three 20-team divisions into four 16-team divisions. Slightly more overhead, yes, but that's more than made up for by the fact that the league schedule shrinks from 38 games to 30 as a result. If you do the math, you'll probably notice that that results in four additional teams in the league structure. We'll get to that toward the end.

On the revenue-generating side, for the first time in the 175-year history of the VTF, the league has chosen to accept corporate sponsorship. Televeph, which, as you might expect, is Vephrall's largest telecommunications provider, will now be sponsoring the league for the length of an as yet undisclosed contract. Unsurprisingly, that means the VTF will now be known as the Televeph League.

So without further ado, here are this season's results.

Televeph League 4 includes the clubs finishing in the bottom 12 of last year's VTF Blue League. In addition, there are three new foreign-owned clubs: Meicer FE in Meice (under Somewhereistonian ownership and not to be confused with the early 17th-century club of the same name), ISC Hyllesme (under Vanorian ownership), and FE Rontiig in Solonds (owned by the ever-present Samseong). Unfortunately, a 16th club could not be found to fill out League 4, and so it will operate with just 15 teams for the time being.

After three months into the expanded National League, two time champions Damasa City continue to be without loss, with their only draws coming in away games against two new teams: Mount Isina and their cross-town rivals Damasa North. Their stellar start is largely thanks to the stellar efforts of their top rated striker Paul Madrigal, who looks to be certain to be chosen for the upcoming Baptism of Fire tournament with 17 goals from just 12 games, and their keeper Jessie Castello who has only let through six goals in twice as many games. The Seals have a four point advantage over the three Amori teams, with Amori West Orcas only a point ahead of Amori East Penguins. However the Penguins boast the stars of Elsie Gillenwater, who is second only to Paul Madrigal in the goal scoring stakes, and Erik Novy, who has only let through an incredible three goals in three months, and their only loss was thanks to the unbeaten Seals. Amori North Petrels sit in fourth on 23 points, with four points buffering them from above and below, with the Skuas in fifth. Damasa North Sharks are the best of the new teams in sixth, while the luckless Vayeshi Gulls are at the bottom, winless and four points adrift.

2047 Sorthern football season

Tiiiiiiiiime ain't on my side, no it ain't. Tiiiiiime ain't on my side, no it ain't. And with that in mind the SFL appears to have returned to the days of SNFA officials desperately rushing around in an attempt to just meet UICA deadlines. A hopefully shortened review of the Sorthern season is in order then.

Shield

A dull start to the season. Snowspire scored early on and somewhat rested on their laurals. New Ireland weren't good enough to create chances to score.

Snowspire Communal 1-0 New Ireland

Sorthern Football League Division One

Eoin Ó Raghallaigh was the man in charge at Corcaigh when they won four straight titles in the mid-2030's which lead to him being appointed the manager of the national team. Failures internationally though saw him return to domestic football with Snowspire Communal where he appears to be working his magic once again, leading them to their third straight title. Rumours however suggest that he is looking for another international job and could well be on his way.

Elsewhere Beningrad failed to build upon last season's third place finish an off season of heavy investment. Considering the expectations and the huge dissapointment Lewis O'Hara will be an extremely lucky man if he returns to manage the club next season.

SFL Division Two

When former two time Division One champions CF Septentrionien suffered relegation back in 2037 for many people it was a matter of when, not if, they would bounce back up. No one though expected the when to be a decade later. Baile an Fheirtéaraigh and Fenians, both formerly established in the top tier will have been relieved to have avoided their fellow promoted club's long term exile from the top flight.

SFL Division Three

For all of CF Septentrionien's woes in taking a decade to return to top flight football they will be aware that it could've been worse than ten years stuck in the second flight. Swinedon and Locomotiv both spent time with CF Septentrionien in the top flight and will have felt somewhat out of place at the third level. Champions Larne Valley themselves also have pretty recent experience of the top flight.

SFL Division Four

Once again the story of the season in the fourth tier was not the football, but rather the twentieth team. Last season TaquilKip Casuals were bought in to replace the expelled Durness Pottery, and then went bankrupt and had their record expunged mid-season. This season things were done slightly differently and a cup style competition for non-League clubs was held to decide the SFL's eightieth member.

For some reason though only clubs with a background from within Sorthern Northland's Kosenic communities elected to enter it. Some cried fix, one journalist from Little Greece with too many questions to ask even got a state sponsored holiday to deepest darkest Bostopia. The SNFA and SFL though are completely adamant that the competition for the free SFL place was completely open to all and conducted in an utterly fair manner, and they wouldn't say that if it wasn't true now would they?

So without further ado, let's see how that competition for the eightieth SFL place went.

Final
Havva Spor Kulübü 0-1 Görmekköyspor

Görmekköyspor then went on to win the division in their first season as a League club, utterly putting any decadent capitalist pigdog led conspiracies of the issue to bed.

20 Siberene City 38 7 10 21 45 73 -28 31 Pl

The lack of clubs being expelled or having their records being expunged meant that the relegation play-off returns for the first time since the 2044 season. Siberene City won't be celebrating it though. They become the first League club to fall victim to the play-off.

Relegation play-off
Siberene City 0-1 Conarth Corinthians
Conarth Corinthians 0-0 Siberene City (1-0 agg)

Dreyher Island League

Dreyher enjoyed an exciting finale to their season. Oast Orient all but the title wrapped up with a 6-0 win on matchday 16. Huntscove though won the next match to give themselves just a chance. A 1-1 draw on the penultimate matchday though put the title just out of Huntscove's reach and meant their 4-1 final day win would be merely a consolation.

Team P W D L For Ag +/- Pts
1 Oast Orient 19 9 2 8 33 27 +6 29

Sorthern Cup

FC Juahzhou just about survived relegation from the first division finishing above eighteenth place by just two points (and an admittedly large enough goal difference to effectively be three points). Their all the eggs in the basketCup plan though seemed to work following a thrilling 2-0 win in the final which denied Oblast Rangers a place in the Globe Cup. Much to the relief of the nation.

The Beningrad domination of the Students League continues. Though admittedly this time it's perhaps more of a Ville du Bénin. St. Patrick's also make a return to the IUCC

OOC: Lost some of my results, only have this season's Weegie Premiership, so no SBCC teams.

IC: For financial reasons, the Weegie League, First Division has elected not to enter teams into the Series B Champions Cup. It is working out some form of deal with the other leagues and the WFA to enable it to participate next season.

A magnificent Schialtas Niaghuan side in peak form claim their first ever Weegie Premiership. An electrifying, exciting season, with the top spot often changing hands between the Midnighters, the Thistle, and TUU, who finally gained some attacking power in the shape of Albundanian Raul Ibanez. Mackintosh Thistle Celtic will be disappointed not to take another title, but cannot complain about their performance; Schialtas were just slightly better this season. Another surprise was the solid perfomance of Sauchiehall Rovers, who take a Globe Cup spot.

TQCC: Schialtas Niaghuan, Mackintosh Thistle Celtic
Globe Cup: Trams Union United, Sauchiehall Rovers, The Distillery.
The Weegies is aware of all internet traditions.

Top team from each league qualifies for the Qasarian Bank All-Ansernia Islands Championship to decide the national champions and TQCC qualifiers. The Hibernean champions play whichever of the Inisealan or Westernean champions gets the lower average points per game in the semi-final, whilst the one with the higher average gets a bye to the final. The two losers of the Championship qualify for the Globe Cup.

Ulusal Sigarcilar Cezve

It may not have any global competition qualification at stake but the Ulusal Sigarcilar is undoubtedly the crown in Ansernian football. In theory it should be largely shared by the islands of Iniseala and Westerney. Hiberney though failed to pay heed to the script and took the little cezve awarded to the winners after a thrilling comeback in the second leg of the final on Westernean soil. And this after they'd only managed to dispatch lowly Cúigsruthlou thanks to away goals in the semi-final.

Preliminary round
Norderher 0-1 Cúigsruthlou
Cúigsruthlou 2-0 Norderher (3-0 agg)

Semi-final

* KGSC awarded spot originally as Corradini Cup runners-up (Burningham City qualified for TQCC through league finish) but declined due to commitments to the crown
** KGSC awarded spot originally as OFA Cup runners-up (Firewood qualified for TQCC through league finish) but declined due to commitments to the crown.

Predictably, Firewood win the league... again. Its getting a little boring, really. Even for Firewood fans. Interestingly, though, most of their key players appear to be aging, with Jermain Lewis looking likely to retire in the next couple of seasons. Donovan MacLean's Callisto City had a narrow escape from relegation with their narrow, final-day victory over fellow strugglers Rapid Hearthlands. Suddenly those calls to see him replace Benedict di Corradi with the national team seem a little ... unfounded.

The cups threw up little surprise in their finalists...

The Royal League threw up a minor surprise in seeing Real Jraxville - now bankrolled by a popular hip hop group, who already own their stadium - take the title.

Twenty-Fourth TakilQuip Champions’ Cup—Preliminary Phase Draw

Final site selection
Ten stadium bids from seven associations were received by the UICA Selection Committee for the last TakilQuip Champions’ Cup final before the event returns to Paripana for the twenty-fifth edition. The Baltic Sporting Association protested that its bids for both the Champions’ Cup and Series B Champions’ Cup finals were not considered, but the Selection Committee dismissed this concern on the rather peculiar basis that none of its members would have voted for a bid they hadn’t heard of.

Globe Cup final stadium:

Returning to work after deciding by themselves the stadium for the last Globe Cup final, the organizers thought of a way to not work too hard in choosing the host of this edition's final. Therefore, instead of analysing the bids, they just went to a mystic and asked him to ask for the opinion of the spirits. No one will never know if the guy just chose one of the files at random or if the spirits really took a look at the options and sent him the answer, but the point is that he took one of the available and selected it as the "chosen one". So, the host of the final will be the Tiger Whale Stadium, in Seoan, Daehanjeiguk (capacity 60,000).

Paul Madrigal's Seals ensured they would finish top of the league in the second last round with a tough win against the Skuas, who desperately needed the points to get into the finals. The last round saw the Penguins get revenge against Damasa, but the Seals will still go straight into the grand final. Meanwhile, that last round win, combined with a shock loss to the Orcas against the Dogs, saw Amori East head into the semis and skip the playoff between the Orcas and the Skuas, who just managed to finish in fourth on goal difference. It was a disappointing loss to the wooden spoon team Vayeshi in the second last round that kept the Petrels just out of the top four. The Oceanview Cats were the best of the new teams, finishing in 6th, but eleven points adrift of Amori North, while Vayeshi kept their wooden spoon crown, but only on goal difference. Paul Madrigal kept the top striker award with an amazing 26 goals in the season, while Annabelle Quisenberry of the Skuas and Ryan Fredette of the Orcas both scored twelve goals in the last ten matches to edge out Elsie Gillenwater of the Penguins. And Erik Novy never looked to be beaten for the top keeper award, and will certainly be picked to be the number one goalie for the national team, despite giving away nine goals in the last ten games. The Championsip series starts next month, with Amori West Orcas hosting Kesser City Skuas in the playoff, with the winner meeting Amori East Penguins to battle for a place in the grand final against two-time champions Damasa Seals.

Top Strikers

Paul Madrigal 26 (Seals)
Annabelle Quisenberry 21 (Skuas)
Ryan Fredette 19 (Orcas)
Elsie Gillenwater 18 (Penguins)
Lilia Scriber 15 (Petrels)

Top Keepers

Erik Novy 0.55 (Penguins)
Cody Ormand 0.73 (Petrels)
Jessie Castello 0.77 (Seals)

It's UICA time again, and time for a look at Babbage players and teams in the three competitions.

TakilQuip Champions' Cup: The islands are represented by Belgium FC and Dover City. City are the higher-ranked side at 176, with Belgium at 207. Both clubs have drawn into the second preliminary round, with Belgium facing Delaclavan champions Catherina FC (319) and Dover City drawn against Tallyn Rovers (20) of Ad'ihan.

Globe Cup: There are five Globe Cup stages leading up to the group stage. In order, they are the Playoff Access, Selective, Preliminary, Eliminatory, and Qualifying stages. Three Babbage clubs are in the Globe Cup. Real Santa Catalina (192) start in the Qualifying Stage, Greenville Rovers (160) start in the Preliminary Stage, and Wye Celtic (265) start in the Playoff Access Stage against Eterna Stars (234) of Valladares.

Chronowire Series B Champions' Cup: Lehi FC have qualified to the playoff round. Gernsback United enter play from the second preliminary round, and Real Valencia and West Scoville Athletic begin in the opening round.

Star Watch: Several Bumblebee national team members are in the UICA cups. All-time cap leader Orson Cook and defender Phyllis Reeves will play for the Cafundelense side América in the Champions' Cup. Jerry Kirkpatrick, fresh from his Gold Ball award, headlines a first-rate Dunboor FC defence. Kelli Alder appears with Belgium FC, and Jenifer Jervis with Sorthern Northland's Snowspire Communal.

The Globe Cup features both established stars and young hopefuls, led by national team captain Tegan Nash with Clube Comercial of Cafundéu and defender Matt Chauvin of Tyrrin Royale in Tyrrin. Midfielder Veronika Hennicke and keeper Norbert Bayer anchor Greenville Rovers, and Wye Celtic feature a trio of World Cup 51 players in Jason Olson, Elizabeth Hanna, and Francisca Ballesteros.

Olympians: Keep an eye on all three tournaments for some of our Olympians looking to make a name. Harvey Thornton and Walter Johnson are reserves with Belgium FC in the TQCC, and Jared Rogers starts for Dover City. In the Globe Cup, Louis Short starts for Real Santa Catalina, and former Premier League rookie of the year Tomas Martinez will see limited duty for RSC after his Olympic scratch due to injury. Finally, three of our four Chronowire Series B Champions' Cup sides feature Olympians Nicole Curtis (Gernsback United), Ruben Garcia (Real Valencia), and Diana Ventura (West Scoville Athletic).
NS World Cup: Runner-up 55/59; Third place 50/52/58/62/63; Host 49/54/60.
Founding member, Global Cricket Federation; 2x Twenty20 world champions.

Elemanu National League Championships 839
Playoff

Amori West Orcas 4-4 Kesser City Skuas (5-4 AET)

Breaking News: It was a battle of the strikers in the playoff for the National League Championships as the Orcas took on the Skuas. Annabelle Quisenberry and Ryan Fredette, two of the best forwards in Elemanu had a field day in perhaps the most exciting match of the year as they both scored hattricks in the first half of the match. With the score at three-all, both teams hunkered down on the defensive, but it didn't stop the goals, as both sides conceded penalties in the last ten minutes of the match, to send it into extra time. Finally, it was Ryan Fredette who broke the deadlock with two minutes left on the clock, giving the win to Amori West. The Orcas meet cross-town rivals the Penguins next week in the Smei-Final and the right to challenge two-time champions Damasa for the Championship.

Amori East Penguins 2-0 Amori West Orcas

It was the battle of Amori last night as the Penguins took on the Orcas at Amori Football Stadium. Both teams were playing for the right to challenge Damasa City Seals for the Championship; the Orcas had never played a final, despite being one of the foundation teams, while the Penguins were two time runnerups and were hungry for a chance to beat Damasa City. Their last match saw Amori East win a brutal encounter three goals to two and Amori West were desperate to square the ledger. The first half of the game seemed like a continuation of the previous as both teams battled for the ball, but the shots on goal were far and few between. National goal keeper Erik Novy denied all the shots the Orcas made, while the Penguins couldn't seem to break through the Orcas' defense. Both teams went into the break tiring and determined in this sudden death match. However, the first half saw the stalemate broken early , as Penguins right midfielder Tanisha Ellingwood saw an opening for a shot and sent the ball sailing past an unprepared Fernando Laub in the 50th minute. With the Penguins up one goal to nil, they seemed to shore up their defense, undoubtedly the best in the league, while the Orcas were even more desperate to break them. Time quickly ran out, as the shots were far and few between, and nothing that challenged Novy. Amori East finally put the result beyond a doubt when Elsie Gillenwater took a well placed cross from Ellingwood and scored with seven minutes to go in the game. The win sees Amori East head to Damasa for the grand final, and a chance for revenge.

Tarrentum Sporting News

International Football Tournament Update

Winners and Losers. That's what every nation and club goes through. The same is true for Tarrentum's club participants to the TQCC, Series B and Globe Cup tournaments.

TQCC
While the Napoliroma Legion, led by Zastro and Cedric Harriot, have found success at the international level (defeating their opponents 2-1 in both matches) they are now faced with a tough match against Atlanatas Klaipaada from Somewhereistonia. Harriot's defense has been heralded by many to be the key to the Legion's success in both the TPFL and here in the TQCC.

Globe Cup
The Tarrentian entrants into the Globe Cup included league runner-up FC Yuppers, Krozuy Academics (3rd) and the Lake Empress Brewsers (4th). The Brewsers failed to score a goal in their two matches against Crosby City to chalk up a poor showing by another Tarrentian squad in Association Football. After their disparaging loss, sports books in Napoliroma raised the odds of any TPFL club advancing to well out of any reasonable gamblers reach. The Krozuy Academics gave the odds makers some confirmation as they failed to impress in their two matches against Stein-los Turkish where they were able to make a goal, but only one, in their pitiful effort. Now the GC fortunes of the TPFL rest squarely with the fast-playing FC Yuppers who are waiting to take on either Club Stein-los (not to be confused with Stein-los Turkish) or Estudiantes de Íguen.

Series B
Though the MLF entered four clubs into contention for this installment of the SBCC, the disparity between how well the MLF thinks it is and how well they truly are is quite apparent. With devastating one-sided losses for King's Mountain FCA (0-3) and the MegOil Roughnecks (1-4) in the first stage the MLF only had Ventili and their Blue Stars along with the Kulami Boars (who received a first prelim round bye) to pin their star to. Ventili one a squeaker of a first match 2-1 over Tolietdonia's Excritement franchise with a 89' goal by Midfielder Greyon Babbin. Yet the Blue Stars couldn't keep the magic going with a humiliating 0-5 loss to Candelaria Arsenal from Candelaria And Marquez. The Boars expertly took out their opponents from Jessleton (Petragas) 4-2 in the 2nd Prelim Round and now face a tough match against the Starbladyian club, Montepool Wares.

INTRODUCING LIGA JESSERIZTAN

There are 7 states in Jesseriztan which means there will be 7 divisions. The top 4 clubs from Hazerra Division, Juhrah Division, Nadezhda Division and Tshariri Division will get through to the round of 32. Nifzil, Mecazza and Ruhedorf top their division easily. The other 4 divisions was fought closely but what matter most for these clubs are the qualification to the next round. The real battle begins in the next round where the best 32 clubs in Jesseriztan will play it all for the 16 places in Superliga Jesseriztan. For these 32 clubs, Superliga Jesseriztan is just one feet away. It is so close now.

Meanwhile, the other 16 teams from the winners pool who fail to qualify to Superliga Jesseriztan will be playing in the second division which is called Primeraliga Jesseriztan. The best 16 teams in the loser's pool will play in the third division which is called Tercioliga Jesselton. The other 16 teams from the loser's pool will be playing in the fourth division which is called Kuartoliga Jesselton.

The end of year awards were decided last night, and there are a few minor surprises, it would appear.

Firstly, there was the OFA Fair Play Award, which went to Hastmead Diamante of the King's League. Amandeep Sahota deserves a lot of credit for the way he has brought this team forward, and has them playing some of the best football to watch in the country. While his side have accumulated the least number of bookings and the fewest fouls, their totals are alarmingly high when compared to foreign leagues. This is perhaps something the OFA needs to look into as they review the league referees for next season, with rumours abound that new rules and technology will be introduced. Lord Kenterbury refused to be drawn on any questions relating to this speculation, however.

Next up was the Golden Shoe award for the player with the most assists this season. Predictably, a familiar face claimed it.

Golden Shoe Award

5th - Enrico Martelli, Cymrwell FC (19 assists)
4th - Remy Bonriou, Firewood City F.C. (21 assists)
3rd - Ashley Watson, Trothwands Evolution (22 assists)
2nd - Gremio, Grasshoppers Turic F.C. (25 assists)
1st - Benni Watson, Firewood City F.C. (34 assists)

Having claimed the award for the past five years straight, there were never any doubts who would pick it up this time around. This, Watson's sixth in succession, took him more than fifty assists clear at the top of the all-time King's League assists list. Clearly Benni Watson is benefiting from Firewood's outstanding offensive power, and this season has been one of their most productive in recent years. Thanks in no small part to their vice-captain, no doubt.

Perhaps the big surprise here was the presence of Cymrwell's Enrico Martelli. His side only scored 32 goals last season, and more than half of them were created by the Under-21s starlet. A bright future ahead of him, it would appear.

In the young player of the year category, there were several great potential choices, with younger players making a massive breakthrough in the past season. Most likely a result of the OFA's new regulations regarding academy trained players, and investment in academies. When the votes came in, it was Marvin Poulsen who came out on top.

Young Player of the Year

5th - Ryan Crow (Firewood City F.C.)
4th - Alfwin Samppa (Maharia United F.C.)
3rd - Enrico Martelli (Cymrwell FC)
2nd - Dante Speranzo (Utica United F.C.)
1st - Marvin Poulsen (Grasshoppers Turic F.C.)

Perhaps most deserving of the nominees, Poulsen has slotted into the heart of the Turic backline, alongside Tay Gidds fairly well. While his mentor claims to have one season left in him, Poulsen will surely be around for a while, helping to maintain the defensive solidity which has now become a hallmark of Heinz-Grichenbauer's tenure. Utica United managed to withstand interest from Trothwands Evolution in regard to young Dante Speranzo, but next season, it appears that the young Tyrrinian forward, Alfwin Samppa, will be playing elsewhere. After Maharia's unceremonious relegation back to the Royal League, and Samppa's comparative success this past season, its almost certain he will seek a move to a bigger club.

For the foreign player of the year award, there was more competition than anyone predicted, it seems. It has recently come to light that around fifty foreign players - although mostly from Kryosis - play in the King's League. While this is still a small percentage of players, its a huge increase compared to ten years ago, when just ten foreign footballers plied their trade in Osarius. When all the votes were tallied, it was hard to be surprised by the winner... Considering the season he has had.

Foreign Player of the Year

5th - Gerald Saughennessy (Burningham City / Connar Republic)
4th - Alfwin Samppa (Maharia United / Tyrrin)
3rd - Aaron Cole (Hastmead Diamante / Unitopolis)
2nd - Mace Kinoz'gh (Charleston Athletic / Andossa Se Mitrin Vega)
1st - Rio Fortunado (Greeningham City / Tyrrin)

Yet again, Rio Fortunado tops the list. The creative Tyrrinian midfielder has been outstanding for Greeningham, especially in the absence of Zack Marley this season - who spent large periods of their campaign on the treatment table - by almost single-handedly keeping the Fourgian side in the running for a UICA place until late in the season. It was his injury during the stunning away victory over Hollybrent on Matchday 31 which ultimately put an end to Greeningham's impressive run. Either way, its probably fair to say he has proven his worth, and what a worth it was. The Tyrrinian came with a outrageous price tag, but if he continues to turn in performances like that, not one Giants fan will protest, surely.

The SuperCannon Award - given to the King's League top scorer - was keenly fought all season, and it came down to the final day of the season.

SuperCannon Award

5th - Alfwin Samppa, Maharia United F.C. (18 goals)
4th - Rio Fortunado, Greeningham City F.C. (19 goals)
3rd - Rene Wilson-Ouaddou, Firewood City F.C. (24 goals)
2nd - Caspian Reyale, Burningham City F.C. (27 goals)
1st - Keon Tinto, AFC Hollybrent (28 goals)

It was Tinto's double on the final day of the season which sealed the award for the Hollybrent hitman. After a season of excellent forward play, it was the least his efforts deserved. Caspian Reyale was unlucky to miss out, and Rene Wilson-Ouaddou - despite hitting his highest tally of his career - only managed third. The OFA had decided to scrap the positional awards this season, only awarding a Manager of the Year award and naming an All-Star XI.

The manager of the year award went to Willem Hamel of Firewood City F.C. in the end. After leading his Firewood side to the title again, losing just three games along the way, as well as an OFA Cup and a Corradini Cup semi-final, it was hard to argue with the decision. Close runners-up were Major Hubert Overmars or King's Guard Sporting, having led his side to two cup finals, and Sir George Pennant, who restored Burningham City to the title frame, as well as having two good cup runs.

The All-Star XI would actually be managed by Sir George Pennant, and they would face Firewood City F.C. - whose players are not eligible for the allstar team - in the end of season Phoenix Cup.

Goalkeepers
Gerald Saughennessy (Burningham City)
Peter Clarkson (AFC Hollybrent)
Bryan Briston (Renneville United)

Defenders
Stanley Tracy (Burningham City)
Marvin Poulsen (Grasshoppers Turic)
Aaron Cole (Hastmead Diamante)
Simon Jonas (Utica United)
Georgina Carsley (Greeningham City)
Ashley Watson (Trothwands Evolution)
Mace Kinoz'gh (Charleston Athletic)
Cristian Molina (Utica United)

Midfielders
Liliana Racine (Renneville United)
Edward Dealy (AFC Hollybrent)
Jared Huron (Paper Tree Town)
Lorenzo Ruiz (Utica United)
Rio Fortunado (Greeningham City)
Francesco Villa (Hastmead Diamante)
Melvin de Vriers (Grasshoppers Turic)
Enrico Martelli (Cymrwell FC)

Forwards
Keon Tinto (AFC Hollybrent)
Alfwin Samppa (Maharia United)
Caspian Reyale (Burningham City)
Robert Aderholt (Callisto City)

Finally, the most important award of the year, the Golden Phoenix award for the player of the year. Voting was close on this one, and it was decided by a margin of just four votes in the end, eventually seeing Benni Watson become the third player ever to win the award two years running.

Golden Phoenix

5th - Keon Tinto (AFC Hollybrent)
4th - Marvin Poulsen (Grasshoppers Turic)
3rd - Alfwin Samppa (Maharia United)
2nd - Rio Fortunado (Greeningham City)
1st - Benni Watson (Firewood City)

In other news, Osarian sides' progress in UICA competition has been mixed. In the Chronowire Series B Champions' Cup, only Royal League champions Real Jraxville are left. Somewhereistonian side Torpedo Tyra were their opponents in the playoff round, but the newly rich Royal League champions managed to see them off. A spokesman for the JNVz - the club's owners - was quoted as being enthusiastic about the club's prospects, both in the SBCC and the King's League next season. "Yeah, with the right signings, we can stay in the King's League and really start to establish the team as a major force in Osarian football." He told OSN. Many long-suffering Jraxville fans will hope he is correct, after they have seen their club floundering between the Royal and Phoenix Leagues for the past ten years.

In the Globe Cup, Trothwands were on the wrong end of an unfortunate defeat to Sarzonian side New Jerusalem Nobles in the Playoff Access Stage, while former Firebirds and Firewood right back Jay Jay Anderson's club, Radyukevich CSC breezed through to the Preliminary Stage. Unfortunately, they fell in the next round to Pasargan opposition. Meanwhile, Firebirds goalpoacher Calvin Harris could not save his Tyrrinian club Oclia Mariners from defeat at Vephrese club Pondrit FE. The sole progressing Osarian side was Renneville United, who will face Babbagian side - and employers of former Osarian international Liam St Ledger - in the Eliminatory Stage.

The TQCC saw Burningham City suffer a terrible defeat at home to Jasiyun side Qidade Savana, after an impressive draw away. Unfortunately, that meant they wouldn't join King's League champions Firewood City in the Playoff Round. Willem Hamel's side then dispatched with their Zarblese opponents to secure a second successive group stage appearance.

Elemanu National League Championships 839
Final
ImageImage

Thomas Tomato: ...and we're just waiting for the whistle now for the end of extra time.
Zachary Zucchini: This is fantastic! Last week saw our first extra time game in the National League, and now we'll see our game decided by penalty kicks!
Thom: Hazan kicks it out and that's it! Goals are still nil all and the Championship will be decided by a goal shootout.
Zach: What a game so far! The defense of the Penguins has been amazing and nothing that Madrigal or the rest of the Orcas could through at Erik Novy seemed to faze the keeper.
Thom: Definitely not, and the midfield of Damasa City is incredible, controlling the game and giving Gillenwater very few chances at goal.
Zach: They're just setting up for the first kick now, and it will be Paul Madrigal taking it for the Orcas.
Thom: There's a lot of pressure on Madrigal at the moment; his team dominated the League, they've won the past two Championships and he is the top striker in Elemanu.
Zach: Yes, but he is facing the top keeper in Elemanu, as Novy has only let through twelve goals in twenty-four games this year. He has been amazing!
Thom: Madrigal is lining up for the kick, he moves in and... SAVED! Novy has gone the right way, diving to the left and taking the ball. Madrigal is gutted!
Zach: At the other end now it's Elsie Gillenwater taking it for Amori East. She's set herself up, waiting, thinking, moving in and...
Thom: GOAL! The Penguins go one up as Jessie Castello dives the wrong way and the ball goes straight through to the back of the net.
Zach: Penguins are one up and this is the best chance they've had of winning this Championship for a long time.
Thom: It's Allan Kennington for Damasa City, he's got a powerful kick, can it beat Novy? He's not taking much time with his preparation, he moves in and... GOAL!
Zach: Kennington has the equaliser! Well, that was an amazing shot at goal and Novy went the right way but just couldn't move in time to save it.
Thom: We've got Jami Olliff at the other end for Amori East, what can he do here? He's ready for the kick and... GOAL! The Penguins are up two to one!
Zach: This is amazing stuff here, the crowd is alternately silent and celebrating!
Thom: Now it's Lance Hennig for the Orcas. Can he equalise again? He's not risking anything here, taking his time... moving in and... SAVED!
Zach: The Penguins are still up by one and with a kick to come! It's Tanisha Ellingwood at the other end, a national player, what can she do?
Thom: She's not wasting time either, she shoots and... SAVED! Castello reads her and takes the save.
Zach: It's two goals to one for Amori East with two more shots to come. Damasa City desperately need a goal!
Thom: Can Avis Ritch do it? He's just taking the shots and... WIDE! That one went to the left and off the upright so no goal for him.
Zach: Amori East can put it away here with their next shot. Lance Gibbens is lining up for his shot.
Thom: He runs up and... WIDE! Over the crossbar and it's still two goals to one for the Penguins
Zach: Melisa Hazan desperately needs to get this ball in for the Orcas to have a chance.
Thom: She's lining it up, can she break Novy? She shoots and... GOAL! Hazan plants it in the top right corner and there's no way that he could've saved it!
Zach: It's all tied up now, but Amori East can win with this last shot. Althea Fiala is taking her place behind the ball...
Thom: The entire stadium is silent! This could be the Penguins first Championship, after two years of disappointment...
Zach: She's moving in slowly and...
Thom: GOAL! GOAL! That's it! The Penguins have won it! Fiala has won it for Amori East and the Championship is theirs!
Zach: What an amazing game...

Damasa City Seals 0-0 Amori East Penguins AET (0-0 AET 2-3 PKs)
