Esquarium's favourite French-speaking federal republic gone far-right once

I'm neither a rightist, a centrist nor a leftist; I think all of them have good and bad ideas.

KALOSIA
Goodbye to Yesterday — Lucia Edin
WINNER OF THE WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 42
performed in English to the tune of Nacida Para Amar by Nina
[original post]

After 20 attempts at competing for the title, Kalosia finally did it. Lucia Edin was crowned the winner of the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest in Caen, Normandy & Picardy.

The final moments of the voting were especially tense, given that the end result was a tie for first place between two nations that have never won, namely Ekoz and Kalosia. Regardless of which of the two won, it would be welcomed very warmly by the audience. And having received 3 sets of 12 points (1 more than Ekoz), Kalosia was, for the first time in WorldVision history, announced the winner of the WorldVision Song Contest.

And perhaps, with this song, it did mark the beginning of a new era in Kalosian WorldVision history.

At this very moment, most of the Kalosian trends on social media were related to the nation's victory, with the most prominent hashtag used being #kalosia42. Lucia was sure to receive a hero's welcome upon her return. But right now, she had to make it to the stage to accept her award.

She was undoubtedly ectastic and almost in disbelief, her eyes nearly in tears, as she made the journey across the green room to the stage. As she stepped on the stage, golden confetti started to rain down. Mya, the Britonish entrant to WorldVision 41 and the most recent winner, was there to present her the trophy. After it was given, the two exchanged kisses.

As photographers and members of the press started crowding in front of the stage, the stage lights started to dim, signalling that it was time for the winner's reprise. Mya, the hosts, and anyone else on the stage walked off or to the edge to give room for Lucia to perform once again.

Lucia was now alone on stage, still wearing a vibrant red dress. This contrasted with the blue-and-black gradient in the background and made her stand out well. The stage was dim and only a spotlight was cast over Lucia. The opening notes of the song, prerecorded by the RTVK Symphony Orchestra, started to play, to which the audience responded with a huge ovation.

Quiet nights, silent cries
Living in sadness, it’s consuming me
My thoughts and struggles will not last
If nothing changes now

Quiet nights, silent cries
God, I have lived such a turbulent life
But the truth is that love is love
The sun is rising, now I’ll say:

A yellow-orange circle faded in, symbolizing a bright sun in a dark sky. Blue stage lights slowly brightened but only slightly, making the stage still stay dim but bright enough for one to make out the shape of the stage. Meanwhile on the screen, end credits had just started to roll.

Goodbye to yesterday
To all the sorrows I’ve left behind
And let’s toast for a new tomorrow
Which I will welcome with my open arms
Goodbye to yesterday

Everything stayed as it is.
Lack of light, violent fights
Walk away from it all, at least I’ll try
For the truth is that love is love
The sun has rose, so now I’ll say:

The white stage lights started to kick in, making the stage slightly brighter. Lucia's eyes started to water.
Goodbye to yesterday
To all the sorrows I’ve left behind
And let’s toast for a new tomorrow
Which I will welcome with my open arms

At the end of the first line of the next part, stage lights fully kicked in and it was now fully illuminated. Tears were streaming down Lucia's face, caught up in the emotions of climax of the song, yet still singing.
Goodbye to yesterday
Won’t care about any past sorrow
For I’ve entered a new tomorrow
Where I’m safe from abuse, from painful memories

Now the lights faded out and the stage was dim like at the beginning of the performance, except for the spotlight. Other than that there was no change.

Goodbye to yesterday

The song ended and the audience roared. Lucia was overwhelmed. She shouted, "THANK YOU CAEN!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!" as the stage lights went back on.

And that was that. The WorldVision Song Contest 42 was now over.
