HMS Endeavor

<Admiral Wilson, you're short fuse has once again started an unnecessary battle. Stop firing at once! Captain Arlington, out>

"Why that little bastard!"
"Sir...he HAS a point"
"Point? Nobody had point but I, that's why I'm the Admiral and not YOU!"

The crewmembers all stopped working and now faced the Admiral.
"Mutiny, eh?"
"Yes, sir. You'll get us all killed"
"That can be arrang- wha?"

Admiral Wilson looked at his chest, seeing a red spot appear and spreading until it covered his entire uniform. Behind him stood an officer with a raised gun, smoke slowly coming out of the barrel. Wilson dropped his weapon and fell on his knees, blood started pouring out of his mouth.
"I'll get...you all...hanged"

Admiral Wilson has been subdued and we have ceased fire. Please forgive the way we did, but we only followed orders...which won't be a problem now.

HMS Interceptor

"I can only fear the worst. Admiral Wilson is no man of compromise"
"Our forces are retreating, sir! Should we leave as well?"
"No, we'll continue defending The Ark, but keep your distance. We don't want them to end up in the middle of this"

OOC: I'm replacing the former British RP'er. So there will be things that my nation has done that I don't know about. Such as this so-called 'assassination', of which there is no proof.

HIMS Tokyo
Japanese Doragon-class cruiser
New Eden System

"Sir, the British are standing down. The battle seems to be over."
"Then the admiral's death was invain. Damned French! Now, watch as they turn our potential allies against us!"
"Orders, sir?"
"Open fire on the French. It would be suspicious not to, would it not? We will withdraw and request a truce before any damage is done."
"Yes, Captain. Engaging the French warship."
The comms officer swung around in his chair.
"Sir, another ship has just entered the system. It's Japanese."
"Delay that order, liutenant. Hail the new ship."
"They're responding, sir. Incoming message."
"Play message."
Code: Select all
Attention, Japanese warships. This is the HIMS Showa. We have been assigned to the protection of Japanese civilians in this system following the assassination of Admiral Nodo. This is Admiral Niko. Over.

Captain Obunga listened intently, then gave another order.
"Back down, liutenant. Send a message to all ships in the system. Include an image of the admiral's body."
"Yes, sir." The liutenant turned to complete his task, while Kaito admired the bravery of the late Admiral Nodo. He didn't agree with Nodo's actions, but the thought that his death was meaningless shook the young captain. The French had threatened Japan, after all. Surely they would have attacked. Nodo was defending his country. He had done what he had to, he had died with honour. Surely the gods would reward him for his sacrifices?

Kaito Obunga turned to another viewscreen to watch the biodome being slotted into place. Soon, the dome would be home to thousands of Japanese citizens. Already, he had sent a message to Earth, requesting permission to begin pumping greenhouse gases into the planet's atmosphere to create an ozone layer. Then, plants would have to be introduced to the planet, then animals. Full terraformation could take years. The people better like the dome, he thought.

"Sir, Admiral Niko has sent a message to the other ships demanding that he be present at the meeting, so that the French can explain to him in person why Nodo is dead."
Kaito looked up. "I see. Let me hear his message."
"Yes, captain."

This is Admiral Takeo Niko of the Great Solar Japanese Empire. A friend and colleague of mine, Admiral Nodo, is now dead, assassinated by a man who claims to be working on behalf of the Emperor of France. I do not know if his claims are correct; but I do know that if they are, France has committed a heinous crime this day. I demand that I be present at any meeting occuring between powers in this system, so that my friend's death- my son's godfather's death- may be explained to me by the cowards responsible. Niko, out.

Code: Select all
To: All Military/political leaders in the Eden System

Due to the Recent outbreaks of Hostilities, in the system a meeting of nations is to be set up, on the Planet of Eden its self. To discuss and make amends to the grievances caused this day. Each nation is required to attend to discuss the happenings and the future of the Eden system If you are to attend you are required to arrive in a shuttle sized Craft you may bring a compliment of military personel for personel protection if you so wish.

A Signal is now being transmitted, this is the location on Eden where the Meeting will be held.

As the message ended playing a signal was indeed broadcast from the surface of Eden, a pinpoint accurate location, that would give each ship the location of the meeting.

President Roosevelt stood at the location finally getting a chance to step foot on the planet hat held the future of America, the Air was surprisingly sweet smelling the heat was bearable, scientists had calculated it was summer time for the region of the planet they where inhabiting. The odd insect buzzed passed, in the distance he could see the towering Hub of the American colony in front of him how ever was a mahogany round table with several chairs, transported down specifically for the meeting. If it came to pass.

Planet of Eden

Around The Gargantuan blue green Planet, the Americans had made sure, their holdings would remain theirs orbiting over the co-ordinates that the Americans now inhabited and by extension the area the meeting would take place was an entire flotilla of vessels ranging from one battleship three pocket battleships and a hole host of Other vessels, including two very peculiar looking cruisers that did not seem to have any primary armaments at all. The Flotilla was on high alert, to much had happened to allow anything to go wrong for the Americans at this moment.

They had been informed to expect French and Dutch vessels for the meeting, they would not stop them at all all other vessels would be checked. to many times had nations let them selves down today, it was time make reparations and sort things out for good.

Currently the Japanese had asked nicely for land and they had been rewarded and where the second nation to colonise, a planet all be it a cold one. The Americans had claimed the jewel of the system. How ever their was still much more to fight over, preferably with words rather than fire.

HIMS Audacious
Dunkerque-class Battle Cruiser
Flagship, 12th Battle Squadron
Entering New Eden System

There was a blinding flash of white and blue light as twenty eight FTL windows were opened in the New Eden System. From each of these windows translated a hyper capable warship into normal space. The 12th Battle Squadron of the Cytherean Space Navy finally arrived in the New Eden system six hours after it departed the Courbet Fleet Yards in high orbit of Venus in the Sol system.

The Cytherean Space Navy is the combat arm of the newly formed Cytherean Alliance that was forged between the nations of the Abyssinia Empire, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the French Third Empire after the War of Italian Aggression. The Navy was formed to present a unified force of combat vessels to assist in the defense of the interests of the Alliance members. Its first mission would be to bring a positive result to the Eden situation.

The four kilometer long Dunkerque-class battle cruisers of the VSN made up the center column of the squadron. Each of these warships packed the firepower of a French Dreadnought and the speed capability of a fast battleship, yet they sacrificed armor to do so. Anything less then a dreadnought was considered prey to the captains of these warships whose aggressive and capable captains knew they could handle even the best dreadnoughts in Sol with the correct application of tactics.

Twenty ships of the Lance a collection of Armored and Protected Cruisers, Destroyers and corvettes comprised the two columns of screening ships acting as outriders from the center battle line. These ship were responsible for interdiction of enemy ships and ordnance before they threatened the battle line.

There were two other ships within the battle line that were only a 100 meters shorter in length then the battle cruisers, these ships matched the profile of the Triumph-class battleships that were the main naval combatants for the then French Navy during the Second Great War. Yet, these ships had their main 12 inch turrets removed making spindle shaped hull quite streamlined. They are clearly not gunslingers, but rather their purpose lies in some other mission. There were also two fleet colliers present packed with Claudia and ordnance to refill the squadrons stocks as fuel cells and ammunition was expended.

It was currently the largest deployed independent command of the Alliance, six capital ships represented a significant proportion of combat power by the Third Empire. Even more telling perhaps was the presence of four cruisers and eight destroyers of the Imperial Abyssinia Navy (IAN), well the tonnage of each vessel combined barely equaled that of one battle cruiser, per capita it represented an even greater contribution by the Abyssinia Empire to the Squadron.

Within minutes of arriving in system French spacers emerged on top of the series of spars that extended from the warships hulls as they serviced the solar sails of the fleet. While every French warship maintained Claudia fueled reactors, this expendable fuel source was supplemented by the energy of a system’s primary whenever possible. In deep space such sail were quite ineffective but within the Sol system such sails are still worth wild even out toward Pluto. The primary of Sol is a small to average star that is hardly impressive, such sails would have even greater range if “near” stars like Rigel.

The CSN battle squadron steamed towards a position near Colossus and the area currently occupied by the Lorient .

“Status update from the Loreint Admiral, I am going to send it to your console, Sir.”

Commander Susanna Dupere, the Squadron’s chief of staff reported to Admiral Ingot.

The French Admiral face tightened as he read the message that contained a report of the unprovoked British attack instigated by slanderous accusations from the Japanese contingent of ships. Vincent Ingot knew that no French operatives were onboard the Japanese ships currently in the system. And he knew if they indeed were responsible for such an assassination the poor Admiral simply would not have woke from his sleep this morning or suffered a stroke perhaps, tragic and sudden loss but nothing suspicious. That is how the Night Watch operated, not with such heavy headed and clumsily ineptness as was present in these current accusations.

What was perhaps even more disturbing to him was the apparent lack of discipline upon the British Warships. Whose new commanding officer had just admitted to mutiny of all things. Such actions would be punished with the most severe consequences in the VSN, Mutiny, really it was quite an unthinkable action.

“Commander send my compliments to Mr. Gerard, his Excellency has my permission to attend this meeting to straighten out this mess.”

Minutes later…

A single pinnace left the Audacious boat bay and pulled a head of the fleet heading towards New Eden and the meeting with President Roosevelt.

As the French Delegate made his way to the meeting, the CSN flagship sent out a message to the Japanese and British flags,

Admiral Niko and Captain Arlington,

I am Rear Admiral Sir Vincent Ingot commanding the Cytherean Alliance’s 12th Battle Squadron. The Third Empire does not maintain any assassins onboard the warships of the Japanese Navy. What need would my nation have of such an asset, if the Japanese made themselves an enemy of France we would simple smash their ships out of existence with overwhelming force. I can only now express my regret at the dishonorable and shameful actions that lead to slanderous accusations against my nation. Yet, you have both used up your only warning. If any further hostile actions are taken by your government’s Navy against mine, or the Allies of the Third Empire, I will use the force of my squadron to silence the threat. Audacious, Out.

On New Eden the French Pinnace carrying an ambassador from the Third Empire’s Foreign ministry demarked and made his way to the conference room.

The Hub had finally finished unpacking, and people where already inhabiting it, one of its jobs to start off with was to control space traffic in an out of the new colony until a proper space port had been set up, already an army of Air Traffic controllers and Space Traffic controls coms operators and Radar operators, where working feverishly brining systems online pulling the protective covering off of computer consoles, The whole place was gleaming new.

Not 5 minutes into their new job operators already had the job of guiding French Dutch and who ever turned up for this meeting, to the Designated point where President Roosevelt was waiting to meet the delegates.

"Incoming Dutch and French vessels" One man shouted

"Skiff size sir!" Another Shouted.

Major Fawkes, was being assaulted with info from all sides, he was used to it how ever. " Point them to the right direction tell them they have clearance to land on the surface."

To Dutch and French Delegates

Your vessels are cleared to pass through the flotilla defensive line, and land on the planets surface, we recommend a full inoculation protocol be implemented on your return to your vessel, as we have no idea what diseases are present at this time. Please proceed to Area Gamma 3 that should now be showing on your Screens, the President is waiting at this location. Please enjoy your stay.

Habitation Zone 1
New Pacific

The domes were in place, and as samurai Oda Chichibu observed, a group of technicians with breathing masks and survival suits- he did not need any, thanks to his power armour- installed the heating system. Already, boxes of plants ready to be planted surrounded him; a building planner had asked where he would advise the construction of the town hall. His suit detected a subtle change in temperature as the heating finally came online.

He cast an eye on the building plans. The dome was divided into a habitation section, a farming section and a governmental section. He had been appointed Lord of New Pacific by the Emperor before leaving, having been selected due to his growing influence on Earth as well as his loyalty and feats of bravery; since the feudal system was abolished, the samurai class had had no power in Japan, but great influence. He would be required to advise the local government.

He watched as building crews arrived in the habitation zones, entering via the airlock to his left. They would soon be working on constructing a town, and he knew the two other crews would be doing the same in the neighbouring domes. He knew these domes would be his home, at least, until the terraforming of the planet was complete and they were no longer neccesary.

His radio beeped.
"Lord Chichibu, Admiral Niko requests your prescence on the diplomatic team to Eden," a voice said.
"On my way," he answered, before walking up to the airlock.

HIMS Showa
Orbit of Eden

Admiral Niko watched as the doors of the shuttle bay opened, allowing Captain Obunga and Lord Chichibu to emerge. They joined him by the shuttle that would take them down to the planet, the Chichi Ichi. Captain Obunga was wearing his uniform, like Niko, while Chichibu wore his samurai power armour.

"It is time for us to leave for the planet."
"It will be good to lay eyes on the cowards to send their servant to dishonourably assassinate Admiral Nodo."
"Indeed. I intend to prove that they were responsible."
Obunga nodded. He had not told the others about Nodo's plan. He feared that Niko would reveal all to the other diplomats. Yet he did not want to deceive his superiors- not least because they would execute him if they found out he had done so. Panic rose up in him like a cobra, raising it's hood in a display of intimidation.

"We must go now. We do not wish to be late," said Niko.
"You may go first, honourable admiral," responded the samurai.
"No, samurai. That honour should be yours."
"Perhaps," said Chichibu, "we should order Obunga to go first."
"If you so command, lord," Kaito said, laughing nervously.

The shuttle journey passed quickly. Before long, they were landing on a grassy hillock not far from the conference place. Chichibu led the others out of the shuttle, and they walked calmly up to the place where the President sat at a conference table. Chichibu made a point of bowing to the President.
"You have honoured my people with your gift of land, tentei. We will not forget your kindness, no matter what happens here."
He then sat down at the table, with Kaito and Takeo following slowly.

As the Japanese Delegate bowed, Roosevelt stood quickly and nodded respectfully, in return. He ran his gaze over the three Japanese, delegates. Two naval officers, that was obvious, the other war an oriental version of power armour, pristine in condition, obviously a very wealthy samurai.

"You are very welcome, the land was given because, you asked for it, this is a virgin system, and their are far to many planetary bodies for us Americans to successfully colonise at once. Unlike your Dutch counter parts you asked nicely and politely, instead of using your fists for speaking. now please lets sit and drink and wait for the others to arrive."

Roosevelt waved his hand in the direction of 3 seats the Japanese where, nearest to on the oval table. Roosevelt waited until they had been seated before sitting him self. A Waiter, walked up to the table brandishing a silver tray. "would sir's care for a drink?"

ARV Negus
Son of David-Class Heavy Cruiser
12th Battle Squadron
Entering New Eden System

The dwarfed Abyssinian vessels spread out from their French comrades as soon as they had arrived, clustering always considered a feeble-minded idea by Abyssinian naval officers. The largest vessel of the Abyssinian portion in the 12th Battle Squadron was the Negus, a heavy cruiser taken from the King Solomon fleet along with three light cruisers and eight destroyers. They were only a small portion of the Cytherean Space Navy, but given Abyssinia’s current military state it was a large contribution. Whether this was out of genuine trust on the part of the Emperor or simply a need to project some modicum of power was debatable.

On the bridge of the Negus a pleasantly cool breeze blew from air vents, the crew stiff in their seats and ready for just about any reaction from the Americans and Japanese. Captain Yohannes had been taken from duty for a long while for evaluations after the incident at Tuscany. To his, and the crew’s, relief he had been returned to duty shortly before the dispatch by the newly formed Cytherean Space Navy. His satisfaction was palpable, the officers adapting back into his command even as they surveyed the New Eden System.

Yohannes grabbed a mic attached to his chair, his voice transmitting over a secure line to the rest of the Abyssinian vessels, “Abyssinia contingent, check in,” a chorus of replies and ‘affirmatives’ returned in quick order, “I shouldn’t need to repeat this, but some of you are still a bit green. Follow the French commanders orders as though they were the Emperors own. Though, if he says shoot and doesn’t specify a target aim for the British. We may get medals if we manage to take a few of them down.” Yohannes replaced the mic with a sigh, hopefully this expedition would not end in so much mayhem as the last.

The French delegate representing the Cytherean Alliance entered the conference room. He was stood in stark contrast to the assembled Japanese military officers. He was a short man just under a meter and a half, and his bulging stomach was nearly twice that. Where a military officer often finds himself the victim of scars a professional diplomatic often finds himself the victim of his own life style, too many days sitting behind a desk to many nights at state dinners serving the most rich and decadent culinary creations to the guests.

As Richard Gerard enter the conference room his hand straightened his double breasted jacket, he greeted the American President warmly.

"President Roosevelt, I would like to thank you for holding this meeting so that we may work out our issues diplomatically from this point forward like true civilized gentlemen. The violence and bloodshed that has already occurred in this system is regrettable as well as tragic."

Gerard looked to the Japanese delegation and continued speaking to the President,

"I also hope that we can address the slanderous and baseless allegations asserted by the Japanese Empire against my nation, allegations that instigated a resurgence of violence after a truce was already reached by all parties in this system. It is my belief that such militant and reckless accusations put at jeopardy the fragile truce."

He looked back to the President,

"My nation entered this system at a very dangerous time, our cruiser put itself at risk in order to secure a peace settlement between our ally the Netherlands and your Nation. We were then attacked by the British Empire, an action provoked by the Japanese themselves. The Third Empire desires to reach an amicable settlement through diplomacy here, but I would be remiss Mr. President if i did not warn you that if another hostile action is taken against the armed forces of the Cytherean Alliance in this system that the CSN will use decisive and violent force of action to eliminate the threat."

"The Third Empire wants to ensure that peaceful and cordial relations continue between our two nations, and I will make every effort at these talks to preserve that wish."

While the Empire wanted peace and friendship with the Americans, the same could not be said for the Japanese who already proved their treacherous ways in the past and just again in this system.

Lord Chichibu bowed again to the President, then continued, "nonetheless, you have been kind, and such kindness is a jewel beyond price out in the cold darkness of the void. It is my hope that Merica and Japan may be friends in the future, and my belief that this would benefit both our peoples."

Kaito smiled, but his only thoughts were of the war that would descend upon the system should the truth be uncovered. Should he have told Niko and Oda? Should he have come to the conference? What would Nodo have done? He took a drink, thanking the President for his hospitality, and began to sip it as the Frenchman came in.

Chichibu tightened his grip on his sword as the diplomat from France spoke. Niko watched him coldly. Kaito did not dare look at him. Once he had finished speaking, Chichibu rose. He unsheathed his sword, and pointed it at the diplomat, then froze.

"You dishonour Admiral Nodo's memory with your mistruths, foul demon!" said Chichibu. "A man of honour would accept the truth and admit it! When the truth is revealed, I shall see to it that you are forced to die by your own hand, or if your French cowardice prevents you from dying a death of honour, I shall behead you here!"

Niko stood and forced the samurai to sit before he made a bad situation even worse. Obunga felt panic rising up in him; he thought of the French diplomat's head rolling around the floor. He is innocent! He doesn't deserve this! Suddenly, he threw up. Niko turned.

"Ah, it is the air on this planet. It has been long since I have breathed fresh air- it makes me queasy." It was a poor excuse, but Niko quickly requested that he return to the shuttle, reassuring him, and ordering a Japanese servant to clean the table.
"I apologise, tentei, but the death of his superior has hit him hard, as you say in the west. They were close." As Kaito Obunga left the room, the admiral looked again at the Frenchman, hatred in his eyes.

The Jacob van Heemskerck dropped in to the Hub, the diplomat representing King William step off the ship, standing 6 feet tall with a well built body, he stuck to a rigorous training routine for no reason other then to give him something be proud of. Realizing that he was a bit late, he moved at a brisk walk toward the room. He passed one of the Japanese diplomats heading the other way, which struck him as odd. He entered the chamber and said "Hello I am sorry for being late but my craft took a while to land."

OOC: I do not like having a sword pointed in my face at a diplomatic meeting btw....it deserves a response on my part at least.

This is why armed soldiers should never be allowed to become diplomats... Gerard thought to himself as the Samurai pulled his sword. It was a ludicrous situation to begin with, never should such men be allowed at parley tables...

The fat little Frenchman found himself backing away from the power sword. He was not a soldier, he did not enjoy having a mountain of a man in power armor threaten his life. To him it was even more of a shock, to threaten a diplomat in such a way, if the man carried through his threat it would have been a breach of some of the most sacred diplomatic codes, it was unconscionable. But the French diplomat was well aware that he represented the will of Charles Martel I, the Hammer of France. He was Empire incarnate and the Empire never backed down.

"Cowardice you say?! It is cowardice now to ask for proof of your allegations, your people offered none but their word. Where are the recordings from your Flag Bridge where the assassination occurred? Where are the witness statements? the medicinal examiners' autopsy, forensics reports? Where are the reports from your Office of Naval Intelligence that outline suspected Third Empire infiltration and the threat that they could poise? Your nation offers none of this to substantiate the slanderous claims made by your Empire against Mine."

As the diplomat refuted the Samurai's tirade his voice took on a timbre and fire of its own. His feet moved him closer to the edge of the power swords blade. He looked up at the man who could take his life in an instant, he stared down the blade that could decapitate him in an instant,

"I represent the will and word of Charles Martel I, His Imperial Majesty sovereign of the Third Empire, Protector of her Domains, and Creator of the Cytherean Alliance. You must furnish substantial proof if you wish to call the honor of our Empire into question, lest your unfounded allegations reveal the lack of your own."

"As for my head Samurai, if you think you can afford the cost of claiming it then by god sir, come and take it."

There was a cold iron in the fat man's eyes. He knew his life could be forfeit but if he died here to day while under the protection of American Parley, well the price for Japanese aggression would not be cheap.

Roosevelt took this time to intervene, Once again European western powers culture clashed with eastern, Roosevelt knew of the hatred between Japan and France, and the history that existed between them, these incidents and claims by the Japanese could not go un-investigated. how ever he would not let this meeting turn into a blood bath... and more importantly a war that both sides would America to fight with them.

"Gentlemen! Please... We are civilised are not? We have the power to fight with words not fire, to many times have wars been started through the heavy brash hand of hatred and mistrust. These do not bring nations together they do not encourage trust, if you wish to inhabit this system them trust in those around you, you will have to."

Roosevelt took a pause to catch his breath, Straightening him self up he brushed down, his Shirt, even with the Air conditioners working in the Hub the heat outside was building, Summer must have been in full swing at the moment for the planet, he felt sorry for the colonists now toiling away in it, building their homes whilst he was in hear mingling words.

"Gentlemen If you may please be sat and a drink to wet your throats, we are still waiting on the Dutch delegate to arrive, he should be along shortly."

The Waiter Stood tall his face as emotionless and cold as steel in his right hand was an expertly perched Silver plate on top where several bottles of liquids, and several glass's the biggest bottle was filled with a brown liquid, American Whiskey. The Waiter moved to the French delegate and showed him the fine selection he had to offer the Gentleman.

As the Waiter did so Roosevelt addressed them all again. "I have a few concerns I wish to discuss in this meeting, First of all being the incidents that have already christened this system with blood. My fleet had been dealt a grievous blow, one of my Nations Great Battleships lays at the system Edge, immobile and crippled, luckily I have been informed that it can be repaired. Also the accusations of, Murder by a French operative that have left a Japanese admiral dead and, and brought the mighty British empire into the conflict. Once these have been sorted and agreements have been made. we may move onto the most important matter. As I believe is why most of you are here. By that I mean the dishing out of land to your respective nations."

Roosevelt let a smile curl his lips.

Edens Gate

The space around Edens gate was still busy, the American ships, had not moved from their crippled battleships side. Crews had been evacuated and all injured where being treated or given a burial in space. A traditional burial for US navy Crewmen. Once again on the edge of the system two new Ether way Portals opened up and with a brilliant flash of bright white light, two rather large Tug Boats entered the system flying the American Jack, they where arriving to tug the American battleship back to the Sol system, where it could be taken to the Florida space shipyards to be repaired.

As the meeting was taking place, outside the Hub shuttles lay everywhere, men women and children busied them selves by unloading shuttle after shuttle.endless amounts of material and machine where being offloaded from the massive bowls of the Ark Already the odd house was built. A basic house with only the necessary luxuries. But that was the life of a colonist and it was to be expected. Those that had finished their homes either relaxed lazily outside of them watching their new home go by listening to the sound of heavy machinery pass by them the hammering of material and the endless drone of other tools.

Inside the Hub people where already exploring the massive building. The public sectors of it anyway. the hub was still small in comparison to what the final picture on the holoscreens made it look to be. Those that looked into the building and how it was to be built up found that the now 15 story high building was in its first stage, and would be expanded into the second stage on arrival of the next wave of colonists.

Currently the hub housed an Air traffic control tower Diplomatic and Government sectors a market area in the east wing, and small barracks for the regiment that would be positioned on the colony to ensure its security on the west side of the building.

Further out in the flat lands, people where building Ranches and cattle farms, no one was quite sure how the Cattle ad stock they brought with them might react to the new conditions and the grass like weed that littered the flat lands. On the east side of the new colony just before the Tree line a big project was being undertaken by three dozen men, they where digging the foundations for the 34 sq meter ware house that would house the colonies equipment and supplies for the opening durations. Several large Yellow machines where parked around the ware house foundations. Diggers and JCB's on legs where what they could be described as massive mechanical exoskeletons with drilling and Digging equipment. They had been used to cut through the earth of the planet and make the rough foundations that the men where now finishing off.

OOC: Was kind of hoping for a Japanese reply to my diplomat's actions as well but oh well ill through something up to move this along a bit.

"Trust is something that my Empire and the Cytherean Alliance can never give to the Japanese Empire. They have proved their mettle in the past with their invasion of French Indo-China while my nation fought tooth and nail for survival against the German Empire. It was an action taken by a cowardly nation who wished not to fight honorably on the field of battle, and again today we witness similar treachery at the instigation of the Japanese Solar Empire."

Gerard informed the American President of some of the cause for the bitterness between the French Third Empire and the Japanese Solar Empire.

"To place any trust in such a nation is foolish and dangerous, it is something Mr. President that I want you to fully understand. While my nation and the Alliance is willing to trust in your own good intentions and character, we will not grant such liberties to the dastardly Japanese."

Gerard noticed the arrival of the Dutch delegate with a nod of his head and continued to address the President.

"On behalf of the Cytherean Alliance, I would like to apologize for the actions undertaken by the government of the Nederlands this day. They were not representative of the intentions of the alliance as a whole, and while we do not strictly govern the foreign policy of our members their actions reflect upon the alliance as a whole and the actions taken today are regrettable. Yet, colonization is a dangerous game, more so when two nations hungry for their own extra-solar colonies come into contact. I hope that a compromise can be reach between the Nederlands and America, forgiveness offered, and perhaps consolation offered in the forms of a part of this system perhaps."

"As for the Third Empire itself, we would like to help colonize this system as well, we would mostly be interested in the gas giant Colossus and its surrounding moons to set up a commercial colony. It is of course up to you Mr. President whether you would like to grant us this claim, but after the unfortunate violence of today I think it would be more prudent that we begin to cooperate in this venture then to continually oppose one another desires, non?

"The Great Solar Japanese Empire is completely in favour of cooperation between powers in this system. I have no problem with French colonisation of Eden. We would even go so far as to offer to share New Pacific with another power should space prove limited. But we simply cannot tolerate France's repeated insults. You claim that we took your colonies; no! We liberated them! Our Asian brothers yearned to be ruled by their brothers, not European colonial fatcats!" Admiral Niko ranted.

"And there is the matter of Admiral Nodo. Not long before his death, we received a threatening message from the French! I have it recorded here."
He pressed a button on his power armour, and a brief message played;
HIMS Tokyo,

Be advised that if any of your vessels close within one light second of the Lorient we will constitute such an action as a threatening maneuver and deadly force will be used against your warship. Whether the Third Empire decides to claim any part of this system or not is none of your concern, you are far away from your homeland and actively colonizing a planet, it would seem that France is not the only Imperialistic Empire in existence?

"This was in response to a Japanese message congragulating France on it's respectful demeanour towards the Federated States and asking for a simple promise that it would not attack Japanese or American assets in Eden. Minutes later, Admiral Nodo was shot dead by a renegade bridge officer- from formerly French Vietnam. There is more! As the serpent struck, he called out; 'Vive l'Empereur!'"

Niko nodded solemnly. He then turned to the American president.
"Tentei, we request your judgement on the matter. You have been kind to the Empire, we will accept your decision on the matter. Are the French guilty of assassinating Admiral Nodo? We will provide any evidence you ask for. Kaito can provide an eyewitness account, if you so wish. Once this troublesome matter is dealt with, I hope that we can build a new home for our settlers here in Eden- even if France is found to be guilty, I have no quarrels with French settlement of this system, and should you rule in favour of the Third Empire, I would hope that France will show Japan the same courtesy."

Roosevelt sat down his face showing he was thinking and thinking quite hard. His hands set on the stable he clasped them together intertwining his figures. The French where on a fine line, if it wasn't for the French, the Dutch probably would of pressed America out of the system and it would have lost all its gains. On the other hand, the blatant threats to Japan did not put them any further up in the good books of America.

His country was emerging from Isolation as well as Japan's, albeit it was only a partial isolation of Autocracy from the country. Japan was in all honesty pushing its luck and resources in colonising the Planet they had picked. Roosevelt wanted to co-operate with every one in the System.

After a few minutes of thought Roosevelt Roosevelt spoke. "Assassination is a serious allegation to make, and one that requires a thorough investigation. Whilst one Witness is promising their must have been more than just that one crew member on board that must have seen him shoot or at least try to escape the scene."

Roosevelt paused for a second then looked to the Japanese Admiral. "If you would permit it I would like to send over an investigatory team of my own. Whilst Im sure your men are more than capable of performing their duties... How ever a third party verdict is what I believe is needed here. Would you not agree?"

Roosevelt wanted to get to the bottom, of this assassination. To many facts troubled him some of them he had said, others he had kept to him self. such as why where their no reported Escape pod jettisons, and why no French ship had tried to recover the Agent, if indeed he had escaped at all.

"On the Side of Colonising this System, America is more than happy to allow most nations colonise it. Space at the moment my friends is in an abundance their are moons and planets galore to be taken and nurtured. How ever I think we should leave that till the Dutch delegate arrives."

Johan moved from the door of the meeting room, where he had been listening to the French and Japanese argument, to the table and sat down. He was one of the members of the diplomacy corps (or so they liked to call it at home) that thought that diplomacy should have been used first in the Eden System. He had to admit that the naval might of the Netherlands could have taken the day if the French hadn't stepped in but he still didn't like the idea. He didn't have much to say on the matters at the table yet as he was sure the assassination issue would continue to overpower the argument, no matter how much the President tried to stop it.

HMS Interceptor

"Give me a report"
"All forces have ceased fire and we haven't received a response of the Endeavour yet"
"I see...send a boarding party to the HMS Endeavour and cease it, I fear the worst..."

Several shuttles left the Interceptor towards the enormous flagship, hovering silently in space. The crew on board the shuttle shivered at the sight, it was as if their mighty vessel had been changed into a ghost ship of some sorts. Upon boarding, however, they discovered mutineers had all gathered on the bridge, waiting for their captors. Their leader stepped forwards as the boarding party entered the bridge.

"We will accept any punishment you bestow upon us, as we have served our country"

After these words, he and his companions got on their knees and allowed the boarding party to arrest them, bringing a new admiral on deck: Admiral Arlington.

"Admiral, I know you'll serve Britain well" The mutineer said as he was dragged of the bridge.

Code: Select all
TO: The Ark
FROM: Admiral Arlington

We have regained control of our forces and will now cease all intervention regarding your dispute with the other nations. Instead, we request coordinates for our colony in the Eden System, if you still allow us to have one...
May I extend my sincere apologies for your inconvenience.

"The message sent to the late admiral was a reply to a communication he previous sent the Lorient in which he offered congratulations in one hand and implied negative connotations to the Third Empire's desire to expand. We make no bones about our foreign policy, mine nation is Empire, we are imperialistic. As to the threat of our reply, it is well that the Japanese took it as such, it is the only warning their warships will get if they close within 300 k-klicks of any french possession or property they will be fired upon without warning.

Gerard voice continued in a low serious tone.

"Make no mistake there is only an armistice in place between our nations since the Japanese annexation of French Indo-China. Also everyone in this room ought to be aware that there are plenty of Vietnamese ex-pats living in Cambodia at this moment because they desired to flee from the Japanese expansion, perhaps they do not care for the yoke of a stagnant militant empire upon their backs. To this day a state of war still exists between our Empires, because of a prevailing truce the Third Empire has not decided to resume the conflict even though we have been given plenty of provocation."

"One question I do wish to ask my friend in the armor suit:

"If you recorded our warship's message why did your suit not record the battle-cry of the alleged assassin? Why is their no body? If the assassin escaped how come there is no evidence of that? Where are the visual records from recording systems present on your bridge. There is no proof of French involvement in this plot because there are none. Your investigators will find that to be fact Mr. President."

"Honestly, if France meant to do the Japanese empire harm we would start my obliterating their Naval presence in this system and ending their colony before it even got started, we do not need to resort to black operations conducted by assassins. Once word of this incident reaches Nouveau Paris, the Emperor will likely sanction punitive actions against the Japanese Empire for their transgression here.

"You are right Mr. President, allegations of assassination are quite serious and such fraudulent actions have dire consequences."

"We never said that the assassin escaped," said Chichibu. "He was apparently sucked out into space after reaching the shuttle bay. I am not familiar with the details; however, I understand an image of the body was sent to all powers in the system, to confirm our claims. Perhaps you wish to set eyes upon your own handiwork?"

"As for the recordings, I can have them sent here by the Tokyo if you so wish," said Admiral Niko. "Neither I nor Lord Chichibu were there at the time, thus he has no recording of it. The message from France was uploaded before we left, as extra evidence. As for your Empire's imperialistic nature, we had no quarrels with colonialism. What we feared was that you would attack other settlers in the system."
