can someone give me an actually interesting start in HIP? CK2 is just so fucking boring in the beginning and I never have the patience or desire to play the slow parts long enough to get to the good parts. No HL.

Why would you not be well-liked? If you're choosing a high-diplomacy dynasty member or one with good vassal opinion bonuses, improving relations with anyone who doesn't like you, and avoiding too much tyranny, you should be fine.

Without any influence from me, the AI managed to beat up France so thoroughly that its remnants were annexed by Provence in 1513.

Has anyone else ever seen France get removed from the map earlier than 1513, with or without player influence?

HIP. I'm still on the start date, haven't even unpaused yet. HIP redoes the entire map to make it more historically accurate.

According to Geacron, in 1204 Jerusalem controlled Cyprus and a tiny strip of land in modern day Israel. So I guess it's more realistic.
