The only person who ever seemed to care about him was his mother, Maria, who was very supportive of Ulrik and encouraged him to pursue his dreams, namely his dream to be an adventurer. Fast forward to his 20th birthday and he finally gets the chance to do so, buying some armor and a sword and setting off for Cyrodiil and adventure. eight years later he returned to Skyrim and was promptly caught in an Imperial ambush and carted off to be excecuted, fortunately for him (and unfortunately for the people of Helgen) a dragon attacked giving him time to escape. Not long afterwards he learned that he was the fabled Last Dragonborn prophesied save the world. Over the next six years he saved the world three times, liberated Skyrim, defeated the first Dragonborn, helped reforge Wuuthrad and reformed the Thieves Guild.

He came into possession of a Black Book which in turn led him to servitude under Hermaeus Mora, the Daedric Prince of Knowledge and Fate, who taught him a means to great power: a dragon shout capable of bending dragons to his will.
With this forbidden knowledge in his possession, Miraak turned on his dragon masters, using it, and his power as Dragonborn, to devour their souls to become ever more powerful. During the Dragon War, the ancient Nord heroes Hakon One-Eye, Gormlaith Golden-Hilt, and Felldir the Old had pleaded for Miraak to use his power as Dragonborn to assist them in defeating Alduin. However, Miraak refused to do so and instead attempted his own rebellion against the dragons. Because of his betrayal, the dragons razed his temple on Solstheim.

His rebellion was unsuccessful and he was defeated by another Dragon Priest named Vahlok who was then made his jailor, restraining him to Solstheim. Other accounts mention that just as Vahlok was about to kill Miraak, Hermaeus Mora saved him by transporting him to the realm of Apocrypha. The dragons then appointed Vahlok as ruler of the island, but not before he was compelled to swear an oath of vigilance to watch for Miraak's return, earning him the title "The Jailor."

Meanwhile, Miraak stayed in the realm of Apocrypha until he could amass enough power and influence to return to Solstheim.

Backstory: Descended from the legendary Dunmer mages of House Telvanni, Brelyna had been pressured from a young age to excel at magic. When she was of age she was immediately shipped off to the College of Winterhold where she enjoyed the more relaxed learning pace. Upon her first day she ran into a peculiar man, he wore armor instead of robes, carried a sword on his belt and had a Housecarl acting as his personal bodyguard. He introduced himself as Ulrik and the two became fast friends, Brelyna accompanied him on his adventures and helped him save the world on more than one occasion. After a few years the two had slowly fallen in love and were married a few years prior to the present day.

Over the years she grew fond of Ulrik, and the two became close and trusted friends.

One day a dude named Ulrik gave him a Stormcloak officer uniform and a flaming sword and brought him along to fight for the Stormcloaks and kill Thalmor, from that day forward Heimskr went from a preacher to a Paladin of Talos.

Backstory: Part of a race of extremely long lived hive minds, the Incubators are a exceptionally advanced Civilization with almost no limitations except their inability to feel emotions. Always looking at things in the long term, they had been concerned with the Entropy and how it would lead to the Heat Death of the Universe.

Decades of research into energy production proved fruitless in the face of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. Then the Incubators created technology that could only be described as Magic. Not even they could figure out this black box but they do however know that it broke the laws of the universe.

All that was needed was emotion and that's where Earth comes into the equation.
