I love how any time Rache starts monologuing Kyr apparently automatically switches from normal teenager-style speach to I'm-a-gorram-knight-style speach. It's like she's subconsciously trying to one-up him on being profound, eloquent and loud.

...actually, that's probably exactly what she's subconsciously doing!

I have a distinct feeling that is what both our characters are doing, they each seem to keep trying to one up each other every time they talk to one another. Naturally Rache's response is also going to be fairly eloquent but brief since he doesn't view they have much left to talk about.

Though I would say IC at least this monologue made sense as to why it was given.

Bio: "A fellow Knight of the Ninth Platoon, my childhood friend, and my sister in many ways, though she behaves almost like a spoiled daughter. In many ways I pity her for I have felt much of the pain she felt and her life hasn't been any easier than mine, in fact it is far worse. I just hope she recovers something of how she used to be."-Rache describing Kristina. If people in Rache's Order had to point at someone who was very much broken by the war with the Lawless many would point at Kristina first, at the age of 15 she was captured by the lawless and she was never the same afterwards. Beforehand she was a cheerful and bubbly girl, 'the Sakura of the Ninth Platoon' as she was called, but now she is more or less a loyal person, a grim knight, and someone who is still trying to recover from the past who shuns almost all physical touch, in fact someone touching her who isn't Rache or his sister will cause her to break out into hysterics. Despite all of this she is possessed with a sharp and analytical mind and is a competent Knight leading to her acceptance into the Academy, in fact on an aptitude score done by the Order of the Chalice on all Knights between 18 and 22 she ranked only slightly behind Rache, the one who scored the highest.

"A doll who can only consume food and produce excrement. That is what she has become. That is how deep her PTSD runs. She is no longer a functional person."-A Doctor describing Kristina when she was 15. While she will take action on her own when she needs to do so, any orders given by Rache or his sister are given maximum priority, no matter how ridiculous they are but that is due to the fact that Rache and Adina were the ones there for her most when she was hospitalized for a year and are thus in charge of making sure she stays stable, them taking an almost parental role in caring for her. She rarely speaks outside of battle mostly communicating with gestures, writing down what she wants to say, using telepathy, or relying on Rache or Adina to translate or for a lot of her needs. She is always willing to listen to others talk about things though. Her magic can become unstable when she is under emotional duress causing her to occasionally lash out with it. According to Rache she is making a good recovery and he hopes she will be somewhat back to how she was before in a couple years but he admits she can relapse easily and she does so occasionally but her progress has been good and provided she isn't subject to any more mental trauma her recovery isn't in doubt, which makes it an acceptable risk to send her out, especially when she can become a better warrior for it. Thanks to Rache being there already and still in relatively good health the risk is almost completely negated.

"Her loyalty to me and my brother, and to the Platoon borders on complete blindness. She will obey me and Rache without question. If I ordered her to kill the First Brother she would do so without hesitation. This brings her joy in some sickening sense."-Adina Olderen describing her. Due to the Ninth Platoon having one of its members turn out to be a lawless and another died in battle related circumstances and two others having been captured and tortured to the breaking point by the lawless, Kristina, and, by extension, the rest of the platoon, is extremely protective to the remaining members of the Ninth. Like Rache she is a member of the Restorationist Faction in the Order of the Chalice. However Rache does not know she was sent to the Silver Hand like he was leading them to arrive separately. She is a typical child of her Order in the sense that she is also resigned to the state of affairs for her Order, shares their hatred of the lawless, and she also has a fondness for alcohol that pretty much everyone in her Order shares. She is also somewhat naive due to her willingness to believe anything Rache or Adina tells her, even if she is not completely sure herself of the orders, with them being her guides, in a way she has been reduced to a bit of a childish mentality at times and is a bit possessive of her "father" (Rache) and "mother" (Adina), her real parents never did anything for her while she was hospitalized, or for most of her life, leaving Rache and Adina to fill the role so she depends on them. She typically speaks in a monotone voice and mainly puts emotion in it under two circumstances: a flashback or anything to do with Rache or Adina.

"Our style was forged through years upon years of practice and sparring. We are intimate in every detail of our tactics and moves. Often we move as one on the battlefield never leaving any gaps in our defenses."- Rache. She specializes in fighting with her katana and executing hard and fast strikes supplementing her blows with telekinesis when she needs to do so, by far she is a skilled warrior and may be a bit more able in battle than Rache, if not his equal. Due to the intimacy established by the platoon system she is deeply familiar with everyone's fighting style, having to fight night and day at their side, which leads her to be able to make observations and educated guesses about everyone's actions. Due to her, Anastasia, and Rache's style being very similar, in fact they developed it together when they were younger, she is the most intimate with their styles.

"This girl was put through trauma beyond what can be imagined by the lawless yet her worthless family did absolutely nothing to help her. Instead they left her in a hospital to decay and rot as an embarrassment to her family. They even said that it would have been best for the lawless to have killed her on the battlefield instead of taking her alive and bringing what they thought to be shame upon their family."- Rache talking about Kristina's family. "Maybe it was for the best that mother, father, and my brothers went to sleep. I have replacements for them now who will never leave me."-Kristina. Her family, her father, elder brother, younger brother, and mother, all died under mysterious circumstances on the same day and in relatively a short period of time, as in an hour of the first one killed they all died, while Kristina was hospitalized, some place the blame on Kristina due to the nature of their deaths and the similarities that relates to her magic, as well as the well know fact that she had been feuding with her family before her hospitalization, but the Ninth and several others have defended Kristina by pointing out the fact that she was in a hospital and was half comatose due to mental trauma for over a week with both Rache and Adina with her at almost all times. So, realistically, she could not be culpable in such a crime due to inability to take action thanks to her guards and her condition at the time.

Additional Information:

The Ninth Platoon: The Ninth Platoon is one of quite a few platoons of Knights in the Order of the Chalice. A platoon is, on average, composed of at least 6 Knights or Mages, does not receive any new members after being formally constituted, can only be reformed, thus receiving new members, upon the death of all members of the Platoon. That is why it can be pointed out that there is still an 84th Platoon despite it only having one person left. You are slated to join a platoon within three years after your birth and if you have any siblings born in that span they join as well. The current Ninth is just the most recent incarnation of it, with originally 6 members, and its surviving members, four, are extremely close with each other. Those members being Rache, Kristina, Adina Olderen (Rache's younger sister), and Anastasia Romav.

House Hymenaios: Kristina's family and while Vigil doesn't have nobles in the strictest sense of the word they could be considered that, them being among the families who founded the Order of Rememberers, including the Olderens and others. The head of House Hymenaios, who was Kristina's father, and his heir died under suspicious circumstances and thus, technically speaking, Kristina is the formal head of the House but she has expressed little interest in leading it before the incident and was judged to be incapable of doing so afterwards, though she is still recognized by most at least formally. She has said on one occasion that the House could die out for all she cares.
