Well Humans are social creatures, and the national and Ethnic community are things everyone belongs to and are not excluded from, it also encompasses cultural items which are shared and thus are items which can be related to by different people even if they don't know each other. Some individuals may also find themselves inclined towards the beliefs of such communities they are a part of and thus willingly associate themselves with it.
