Supreme High Chancellor Nuba Nysore has announced that he is "Overjoyed that the people of the Quendi has given the LPP this overwhelming support. We will however continue to work with all parties in Congress."
It is expected that the Supreme High Chancellor will soon appoint his Prime Minister. Three candidates are now in consideration. The chancellor's brother Senator Navien Nysore from Garzinna, senator and former Supreme High Chancellor Selindara Imai of Inistra or Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs and the World Assembly Carmen Safina.

Are there leopards in Fatatatutti? Scientists have been unable to uncover any concrete evidence one way or the other, nor have they been able to propose a hypothesis of how the big cats could get here across thousands of kilometers of open ocean.

Nevertheless, each year there are a few leopard sightings reported in the more remote areas of the island.

A delegation of ranchers from the southwestern region is in the capital this weekend to express their concern about predators attacking their herds. Spokesman Archie Kalikimaka, co-owner of the legendary Kalikimaka Ranch, says that there have been reports of leopard sightings but he himself remains skeptical.

The delegation is expected to meet with officials of the Office of Fish and Wildlife to request a government-sponsored expedition to scout out the area and determine the source of the attacks. General Castro-Stalina's name has been bandied about as a possible leader of the expedition. The General is currently in Africa and could not be reached for comment.

If a large predator was found, whether a leopard or not, it would not be killed, in accordance with Fatatatutti's strict eat-what-you-kill tradition. Rather, it would be captured and moved to a more remote part of the island where it would not pose a threat to livestock or humans.

Republican Guard forces celebrate a significant victory over rebel forces in the North Karolina province. The attack began late last night, and continued into the earlier hours of the morning. An estimated 2,500 rebel soldiers attacked a smaller force of 1,000 Republican Guard troops in and outside of Raleigh. An estimated 1,300 rebel soldiers have been reported dead and 50 reported captured. The Republican Guard lost about 50 soldiers during the firefight. A top military official thanks the Republican Guard's training regiment for the low number casualties.

Bill drafted in Senate to outlaw capital punishment

MANTAL ZRIEGER- Senators Zoé Labossière (D-Carthalis), Lyle Coupart (D-Wolendas) and Oliver Kemp (ind.-Ranzbay) have co-authored RS 9579, a measure to outlaw the death penalty throughout Ravnalis.

The reason for the bill's introduction is that the death penalty is currently one issue dividing the nation. Six states have kept it legalized, four have outlawed it and three have made no decision whatsoever. So it's obvious that it would go to the Senate for a final resolution.

Labossière said this of the bill.

The death penalty is basically government-sanctioned first-degree homicide. If we do not outlaw this, then we are nothing more than cold-blooded killers swearing by hypocrisy...

Opponents to this bill have taken this statement to their advantage. Oscar Casimaty (L-Jo Manrien) said that "politics is naturally hypocritical" and that "if we order spies to kill other spies, then aren't we cold-blooded killers, per se?"

First Minister Grazian Carrasco has stated that he supports RS 9579. He says that "should this bill pass the Senate, I shall be signing it into law."

Wikipedian Navy Enters New Stealth Drone Into Service

The X-47B, now re-designated as the AQ-47B Umbra, is launched from the Richard Stallman-class aircraft carrier WUNS Tim Shell.

This month the Wikipedian Navy entered a new stealthy Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV), now known as the AQ-47, into service and has deployed it aboard the Richard Stallman-class nuclear-powered supercarriers. This week they became carrier-qualified (CQ) aboard all 12 Stallman carriers. The new UCAVs can carry JDAM munitions, reconnaissance equipment, and may possibly even be able to take on an aerial refueling role. For more information on this aircraft see here.

One truly wonders how a film totally based around finding out why Living Freedom Land is one of the the world's largest consumers of tacos, and what that means for the average Freedom Lander.



The movie, while visually stunning, lacked a true plot, but then again, what do you expect for a documentary? It did have an objective, and it concluded with a stunning twist. The science of the movie, such as its use of Taco Points to gauge the amount of tacos sold in each city in the nation, was questionable, and that has hurt its credibility with the academia. However, the main person to see the movies were average folks, who just don't care if their movies are scientific. It told people not what they already knew, but made up a totally false story as to why tacos are popular in Living Freedom Land.

Fowler was fighting in South Okonkwo for the Royal Harrovian Regiment, when he exposed himself to enemy fire to protect injured troops, and later rescued a civillian ambulance officer while under heavy enemy fire. The Harriett Cross is the highest award in the Harrovian Honours System, preceded only by Peerage. It is awarded to "persons who in the presence of the enemy, perform acts of the most conspicuous gallantry, or daring or pre-eminent acts of valour or self-sacrifice, or display extreme devotion to duty."

New Livros Released Today

KINGSVILLE - the newly redesigned Series IX Nord-Brutlandese livro, the currency of the United Kingdom of Brutland and Norden, was released today into general circulation by the Royal Nord-Brutlandese Bank (Banco Reala Nordèbrutelliense, BRNb) through public and private banks all over the country.

The release was simultaneous in all grants and provinces following a July 2 bank holiday in order to provide a one-day window for the delivery of the new banknotes to banks all over the country. Citizens can now exchange their old paper banknotes into the new polymer banknotes in all banks in Brutland and Norden. Most vending machines, automated teller machines, and currency counters had also been reconfigured to adapt to the change.

"Smooth Turnover"
The BRNb reported that £12.5 billion worth of old livros had been exchanged to the new livros so far. While there was no rush to exchange banknotes, some Nord-Brutlandese went to banks early in order to get their hands on the new, more modern currency. "It's... different," Sabino Pellegrino, an office worker from Providenza, remarked about the new banknotes. Pellegrino went to the bank early before work to exchange his old King Adam IV livros. "It doesn't feel like money. But I guess we Nord-Brutlandese will get used to these plastic money. I hear these polymer banknotes are more secure... and definitely you cannot reproduce this in a paper copier. "

"I like it," said Carolina di Gasperina, a bank teller at the Banco di Monteleone. "Vivid colors, sophisticated design and security features, and it feels clean. Dirt and smell sticks to paper banknotes, sometimes you loath to touch them. And it'll be much easier to look out for fakes."

There were only a few isolated incidents concerning the new banknotes. In the town of Palombara di Tiberio, province of Brutland, some local stores refused to accept the new banknotes. Some shopkeepers believed the new banknotes were toy money. The matter as immediately cleared by the municipal mayor and the BRNb representative for the grant of Cantabrica. In the grant of Mordogudoro, province of Norden, people were unable to get the new banknotes after the barge that was supposed to bring the new banknotes to the islands was stranded in the Scilian port of Agriacca.

Exchange Early
The Chief Cashier of the Royal Nord-Brutlandese Bank, Adam Castresana, encouraged citizens to exchange their livros early and make the transition immediately. The BRNb had shortened the grace period with which the paper banknotes can still be used and exchanged. The BRNb gave the Nord-Brutlandese three months to exchange their livros in the country's banks. The paper Series VIII banknotes, bearing the image of King Kyle II, will remain legal tender only for one more year, up to July 2011 (instead of the usual four years); and can be exchanged at face value (at BRNb branches only) only for two more years, up to July 2012 (instead of the usual seven years). The Series VII notes, bearing the image of King Adam IV, will cease to be legal tender this month, and can be exchanged at face value for only one more year, up to July 2011 (instead of up to July 2013).

Security Features of the Nord-Brutlandese Livro

BRNB's Castresana said that the Bank wanted Brutland and Norden to shift immediately to the polymer banknotes and cease the use of the paper banknotes, which was more liable to counterfeiting. While there were some cases of counterfeiting, it was never much of a problem. Nevertheless, the BRNb recognized the vulnerability of the Nord-Brutlandese livro and immediately made plans to remedy it, hence the issuance of a new series of banknotes.

And although the high-denomination banknotes (£200, £500, £1000) will remain legal tender and will be circulated, the Bank will be reducing the amount that they will print, primarily to fight money laundering. The £1000 livro banknote, roughly equivalent to $1600, is one of the highest-valued banknotes in the world.

The New Series IX Banknotes
The redesign was proposed by the BRNb and was approved by the Cortanella government in 2009, primarily to strengthen the security features of Nord-Brutlandese currency. It was also to update the images on the currency.

The new banknotes of the Nord-Brutlandese livro are made of a plastic polymer called biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP), developed at the Nord-Brutlandese company Baadsgaard & Lambert (B&L). B&L was also responsible for the other security features, which included a transparent plastic window, holograms, color-shifting and thermochromatic inks, intaglio printing, and for higher denominations, RFIDs to track down the currencies and reveal counterfeits.

The banknotes bear the image of His Majesty King Kyle II and various castles around Brutland and Norden. The colors remained the same for all denominations in order to prevent confusion with the colors the Nord-Brutlandese had been accustomed to.

Following the first free elections in the Dianic Republic, former Integrated Apartheid Victims Front (IAVF) leader Swilli Asaam has won the presidential election and has been sworn in as President of the Dianic Republic, succeeding Provisional President Prier Wintle. During the Neo-Apartheid Dempsey era, Swilli Asaam was the leader of the Integrated Apartheid Victims' Front (IAVF) and assisted MDISC forces during the invasion. He was the first high-ranking member of the IAVF to meet up with MDISC commanders in Capetown, and famously often accompanied the IAVF in combative situations. During the MDISC taking of Kruul, Asaam personally walked into a bombed out chemical weapons plant with Epicnopolian Alfa Legionnaires and ordered the destruction of materials for making lewisite. Asaam walked with Wikipedian and Epicnopolian soldiers through camps where live victims of the Dempsey regime lay in the hot sun, broken, burned, and abused physically, sexually, and emotionally. Famous pictures were released of Asaam comforting the liberated victims and providing them with water while MDISC set up medical facilities. Since the war ended, Asaam had supported Provisional President Wintle in his efforts to crack down on Dempseyist insurgents and improve foreign relations abroad. He believes that quick recovery from the war and dictatorship is essential for the Dianic Republic to thrive in Africa. Asaam also believes in having a strong and competent military to protect the nation.

Whitestar Automotive LLC, one of Astholm's premier motor manufacturers, has facelifted the Kalsat Avnam AV1 for 2010. Named for the village of Avnam in Lancashire, Astholm (and its postcode!), this mid-size car gets a facelift before the next-generation model is due in 2011.

There are no drastic mechanical changes, only a change in the model line-up; The mid-range models' 4-cylinder engines and the 3.8-litre 245bhp V6 are discontinued, and the rest of the diesel line-up is also discontinued leaving just the 2.0-litre 145bhp 4-cylinder, 3.3-litre 185bhp V6 and 3.8-litre 204bhp V6 petrols or 2.0-litre 190bhp 4-cylinder turbodiesel engines on offer.
