Ruling party/coalition: Coalition of Progress (Coalizione del Progresso)
How popular is your current leader and their party/coalition: The CdP has been able to hold onto a strong majority in the Argentarine Parliament since the coronation of King Cristiano X, who had dissolved the then-Conservative led Parliament for new elections, mostly to bring about a socially progressive agenda. The Coalition is made up of three parties: the Royal Democrats of Argentarino (Centrists), the Social Democrats of Argentarino, and the Liberal Democratic Party of Argentarino. The sitting Prime Minister belongs to the Royal Democrats, and it is common for the three coalition partners to rotate the premiership, so that no one party gains too much influence. There are other minor left and center-left leaning parties, though they do not belong in the governing coalition. The center right and the right, on the other hand, have many small parties, which are currently scattered as a result of the King's surprise elections, which ended up driving a wedge through the rightists. There are two opposition coalitions arising from the Right, but they do not have enough power on their own to be a challenge to the Government.
Describe how your government works:

Argentarino is a constitutional monarchy, albeit, a unique constitutional monarchy. Unlike normal constitutional monarchies, the sitting monarch retains several powers, as well as being head of state. The monarch may veto any legislation that comes across their desk, they may author and submit legislation to the Parliament, issue emergency decrees, dissolve Parliament for new elections - this is normally a ceremonial function, and has only been used to convene a new Parliament once in its history - and they may declare war without the approval of the Parliament, though, as of late, monarchs have relied upon Parliament's blessing should a war be in fruition. Succession within the monarchy is strictly male primogeniture, and while there have been attempts by Members of Parliament to change the succession laws to allow a woman to sit on the throne should she be the eldest child of the previous monarch, it has not gained much support.

The Parliament, however, is freely elected, with all political parties being allowed within the nation. There are 115 seats in Parliament, with one parliamentarian from each of the districts of the Kingdom. Each MP is allowed one vote, as is the Prime Minister and the Speaker. The Prime Minister is elected by the Parliament, and the MPs are directly elected by the citizens of their district. Parliament's powers are mainly legislative in capacity, though one of their major powers is that they must approve treaties, Cabinet appointments, and the makeup of the national budget.

The Judiciary is mostly independent. The appointment of Supreme Magistrates is a unique issue. There are seven magistrates, with the most senior of them - in age, that is - being the Chief Magistrate. Three of the Magistrates are appointed by the Prime Minister, three are directly elected by the people, and one is appointed by the monarch. The four appointed Magistrates must be approved by the Parliament, but the three that are elected by the population are immediately granted their seats. It is a confusing system, one which has earned ire from those who advocate for a judiciary that is entirely elected and from those who believe that all of the Magistrates should be appointed by the government. However, it should be noted that the elected magistrates serve terms of six years, whereas the appointed magistrates serve until their death, retirement, or removal from office.
