You can answer that yourself. We're long past that and you decide to reply to it anyway with a pretty pointless reply.

WHF COUNTDOWN
PART I

Welcome to the first edition of WHF Countdown! During this series will be brining you up to speed on all the plans for the 18th World Hit Festival held in our capital, Senmerí. In this edition we will be explaining this year's theme, and logo and postcard design.

THEME

The World Hit Festival is one of the biggest international cultural celebrations in the multiverse. It brings nations, big and small, together to join as one and put music first – regardless of our differences. Music is a language that transcends all barriers. It stirs our souls to feel emotions that we couldn't have felt or articulated before. This is why Chámelíyá is inviting you to join us in the beautiful city of Senmerí for the musical celebration we all love to feel From the heart!

LOGO + POSTCARDS

This edition's logo has been designed with the theme's message in mind and represents the confluence and merging of thoughts, emotions and identities. The logo has also been designed to be incorporated into each contestant's postcard - combining their national colours and the contest's motto, 'From the heart', in their national language.

The postcards of Chámelíyá, and Normandy and Picardy.

WHF COUNTDOWN
PART II

Welcome to the second edition of WHF Countdown! During this series will be brining you up to speed on all the plans for the 18th World Hit Festival held in our capital, Senmerí. In this edition we will be discovering more about the host city, Senmerí, itself!

SENMERÍ

Image

The sights, sounds and smells of Senmerí overwhelm every sense.

Senmerí has been called home for thousands of people for nearly two millennia. Nestled in the Senmerí valley beneath the mighty Hiuñchotí mountains, the city has been the beating heart of Chámelíyá for centuries. Behind every corner of this historic city lies a glittering temple or lovingly-carved shrine while the streets ring with the chorus of dance and celebration that comes with every one of the many festivals.

While the festival will be of course the first thing on all its attendees' minds, visiting Senmerí without exploring it for its cultural jewels would definitely be a mistake. The ancient palaces of medieval kings and the monolithic stupas that remain from long ago still inspire travellers from all over the multiverse. If that doesn't quite take one's fancy, than how about visiting one of the many national parks surrounding the city, full of charming waterfalls, majestic wildlife and spectacular mountain-top views of the city.

TRANSPORT

Image

Travel in style on one of Senmerí's many rickshaws.

Senmerí's main gateway is Senmerí International Airport. The airport provides international flights to a number of destinations although due to its relatively small size, some attendees may have to transfer at a larger airport in Normandy & Picardy, Chámelíyá's regional neighbour. The airport is a mere 15 minutes to central Senmerí via the airport trolleybus service.

Most locations within the city are easily walk-able thanks to the city's compact layout although a number of transport options are available including the city's ubiquitous white taxis and tempus (tuk-tuks), and the famously colourful rickshaws.

ACCOMMODATION

Image

Rání Hotel: 21st Century comfort in period setting.

The official hotel of the festival is the Rání Hotel located in central Senmerí. A former royal palace, the hotel boasts extensive gardens, stunning architecture and 1st class service to make sure every festival attendee's time in Senmerí is a relaxing one. Every whim should be satisfied here with the kitchen producing traditional Chámelíyálí fares and artisan world cuisine and the spa offering the age-old Chámelíyálí relaxation therapies.

The organisers of the festival have arranged for the hotel to offer a generous 25% discount for attendees of the festival. However, a number of welcoming and comfortable guest houses are located nearby in hotel in the bohemian Thamel district for fans on a tight budget.

The organisers of the contest are pleased to present the theme tune for this edition''s festival. The theme tune, Heart Strings, was written and produced by the CháReTe Radio Workshop and will be used throughout the festival, most notably during the postcards.

WHF COUNTDOWN
PART III

Welcome to the third edition of WHF Countdown! During this series will be brining you up to speed on all the plans for the 18th World Hit Festival held in our capital, Senmerí. In this edition we will be discovering more about the all-important venue!

VENUE

Image

Senmeri Festival Arena; a ground-breaking venue for the World Hit Festival

For the duration of the festival, Senmerí International Airport's Hangar 2b will be transformed into the setting for the one of the mulitverse's biggest cultural celebrations. With sound-proofing and seating installed, Hangar 2b will become the Senmerí Festival Arena with a capacity of 10,000, and be what the organisers of the festival hope will be an honest performance space.

Image

Current progress of hangar-arena renovation

The need for such an unorthodox venue arises from the fact that Chámelíyá has very few indoor spaces suitable for hosting an international event of this magnitude. Hosting the festival outdoors was an explored option but was discounted due to the wet climate during the monsoon season. The organisers of this festival hope that this will be the beginning for a trend of innovation for the festival in the future.

STAGE

Image

WHF 18 stage; centred on the music

The stage for the festival has been designed with the rawness of the venue in mind and was designed to a more human-scale to make sure the focus of the festival stayed on the music. While a central LED display is available, the majority of the backdrop simply consists of spotlights. The perimeter of the stage has outlets for pyrotechnic displays and performances may also take advantage of the confetti dispenser above the stage or the many wind machines situated around the venue. We hope that this stripped down space will enhance the performances of the participants. A series of test runs have been performed on the stage which are available for view here.

You didn't get any permission from me to close signups or open the draft thread... but that's because you don't need any! Everything is on schedule.
It appears you can work in complete independence and I'm really glad to see the progress that has been done so far. I've also added all your little 'host bid' parts to the OP.

Signups are indeed closed, and I've updated the OP one final time. Happy posting!

That's kinda the point of having a draft thread; you can just post what you've done and come back to it later to complete it. How long it takes for you doesn't matter as long as it's done before the deadline, since countries should only take into consideration (for voting) what's in the IC thread.

Don't worry, I've been told before that my taste in music is 'feminine'. Usually by people who are unaware of my love for grunge-y, lo-fi rock.

Personally, I tend to see most people on NS as floating, genderless blobs until I learn otherwise.

There is no 'feminine' or 'masculine' music. Music breaks barriers, it brings people together, it stirs the soul.
