Following recent reports, investigations have revealed that both The Black Riders and The Land Of Kings And Emperors have been using an illegal recruitment script, and as such both regions have been banned from all telegram recruiting for 3 months.

Telegram recruiting offers recruiters three channels: TG Stamps (which you have to buy), API (which you can use scripts for), and Manual (sending 1-to-1 TGs in-game, with or without a TG template). These are balanced so that Manual recruiters aren't squeezed out by Stamp buyers and API bots: in practical terms, this means that recruitment messages sent Manually tend arrive a bit faster than via Stamps and the API, because there are fewer of them.

It is absolutely prohibited by the Script Rules to use a script to fake manual recruitment, and the only reason for doing so is to cheat the game and disadvantage legitimate recruiters.

Both The Black Riders and The Land of Kings and Emperors have been using an illegal script that faked Manual recruitment for a sustained period of time. This script was developed with the DOS player Anur-Sanur/Frak.

As punishment, both The Black Riders and The Land of Kings and Emperors have been banned from all telegram recruiting for a period of 3 months. This includes recruiting via API, manual telegrams and stamps*. The punishment has been enacted already by the administrators and starts today. Any attempt to evade this block (for example by recruiting for 'proxy regions') will result in an extension of the block by 1 month per attempt, as well as severe punishment for all players involved.

The player 'Bob Moran' has had all his nations deleted as punishment for using this script and for working with the DOS player Anur-Sanur/Frak, and we are currently considering DOS status for him as well. Bob Moran is recommended to contact us as soon as possible to explain his actions, and to post a public apology for his rules violations, or he will not be allowed to continue to use this site.

*The Black Riders currently have a Stamp recruitment TG in the queue; this will be allowed to run its course, which should be done in approximately 2-3 days.

Probably best to limit the gloating in the thread and just take home the fact that working with a DoS player and breaking the rules in telegramming is most likely going to be dealt with severely. Kind of stinks to see a few pillars of the raider community getting hammered, but it's understood given the circumstances.

Sorry to ask this and I don't know if this can be answered:

The region I'm in, The Imperial Legion has historically had some form of connection with LKE in the past, though that was through previous WAD's. The only connection to between TIL and LKE right now that I know of right now is via a Regional Embassy which isn't used for anything I know about. However, I've not known anyone in TIL also reside in LKE at the same time off the top of my head.
I've only just heard about this after another player TG'd me regarding another sort of related matter, which mentioned about the actions taken.
I've been thinking about this, and I decided that although I have pretty much never used any recruitment methods for TIL that I can remember, that it'd be better to be honest about historical connections to LKE.

I'm now aware of the restrictions against LKE and TBR regarding recruitment, but I would like to know (if such disclosure is permitted) whether my region (TIL) is affected by the ruling, given the historical but (to what I know) inactive connections?

I can understand this may be sensitive data, so I completely accept any decision not to release this if one is made. I'm happy to have the response by VoM TG if that's preferred.

The only script sanctioned by the LKE Government and that we knew about has been running from this nation - continuously since 2013, and it had nothing to do with Bob Moran. It is for API telegrams and is perfectly legal.

If Bob Moran was running a separate script, then that is appalling, but no one else in the LKE knew about it.

Bob Moran was appointed as our interior minister in early March of this year and the chief of the general staff at the end of January of this year. He was not authorised to set up any recruitment script. I never provided him with access to the API key and I am not aware that any of the other small number of individuals with access to it provided him with any such access. He claimed to be doing extra manual recruitment.

We condemn any cooperation of any kind with Anur-Sanur/Frak, who has previously orchestrated several malicious campaigns against the LKE. If has indeed been involved in this, then I suspect, then I believe that this has been deliberate act to sabotage the LKE's reputation.

I am telegramming the Moderators to request further details on what has been happening and for how long. After that the LKE will issue a statement.

In any case, collusion with a DOS player to run scripts in gross violation of site rules is mildly appalling and the Mods seem to have dealt with it very effectively.

Noting here that we speak now about one region, not the organisation, regions can be created and destroyed within seconds, but organisations behind them not. This might even make some people think.
